We hired Home2Renovate to paint three exterior walls and ended up with a signed contract, a charged deposit—and no job done.

They responded to our request saying they'd provide a free quote that was "good for a year." That turned out to be completely false. Instead of a simple estimate, they sent a salesman named Mark S., who spent half an hour giving us a rehearsed pitch about their credentials and reviews. Then he told us the quote was only valid for that day.

We asked for time to compare prices, but he kept pushing, even dropping the price unprompted and calling the owner, Roger, on speaker to "lock in" the deal. Roger said his team would begin mobilizing right away and emphasized that they didn't want us backing out. Against our better instincts, we signed the contract, paid a deposit on the spot, and canceled all our other quote appointments.

Three days later, someone allegedly came by to start—but there were no tools, no visible work, and barely any communication. When we followed up after almost a week of no communication, the salesman forwarded us a message from the owner saying the job was canceled (despite us having a signed contract and there being no grounds for termination). We were particularly frustrated by this given the owner had previously spoken with us directly and emphasized he didn't want us to back out of the contract. Supposedly the cancellation email had been sent to the wrong e-mail address.

Worse, the refund never showed up until we tracked down the owner over the phone. He claimed they couldn’t complete the job because they didn’t have the staffing to do it right, and said they'd need to outsource it (which we explicitly confirmed would not be the case when we signed the contract). This was after he had personally approved the contract. Then he told us the only way they could perform on the job is if we paid nearly double the original amount. He cited he was within his rights to cancel per a termination clause of the contract, however none of the conditions (Owner's breach, change in scope, failure to pay) had been satisfied. For what it's worth his tone was apologetic, but when I take that out of it, it's difficult to see anything other than this being a bait and switch where we cancelled all of our other options and were left with the choice to pay double or start the search again from scratch.

Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend this company. They used high-pressure sales tactics, made promises they didn’t keep, and wasted our time. Despite the apologies, the facts speak for themselves—this had all the makings of a bait-and-switch wrapped in a scripted sales routine. There are plenty of high integrity contractors out there who don't rely on sales tactics to earn your business. We regret not trusting our gut on this company and hope that this experience (which is similar to others posted on the google reviews) is something the public considers before hiring Home2Renovate.

The team a Home2Renovate were professional, courteous, cleaned up daily, and delivered from start to finish! We had them replace boxed fascia on some rental property and they did a great job not only with workmanship, but were very respectful of the tenants "space"! I will definitely use them on other properties and would highly recommend them.

Very professional young men came to give us a detailed evaluation and estimate for lots of work for my moms home. Although we ended up using a different company they appear to have really excellent products and many years of experience . I would definitely consider them for other jobs in the future

We had new windows installed at our home. They look great. Their team answered all of our questions. When they came out for the install, the team was professional, and courteous. We had an incredibly positive experience.

Huge shoutout to Home 2 Renovate for completely transforming our home! Roger and his team are stellar. From start to finish, they’ve been nothing short of amazing. They installed a beautiful new roof, gave our house a fresh new look with a gorgeous paint job, upgraded us with new energy-efficient, fire grade windows and sleek glass sliders, and topped it all off with new gutters that tie everything together perfectly.

Every step of the way, the team was timely, thorough, skilled, and just a joy to work with. It's so rare to find contractors who truly care about their work and their clients—and Home 2 Renovate absolutely delivers.

We’re so impressed, we’re now getting ready to tackle our kitchen remodel with them, and I couldn’t be more excited! If you're looking for a reliable, talented, and professional team to handle your home projects, I highly recommend Home 2 Renovate. You won't be disappointed!

I've hired Home 2 Renovate twice, and they have delivered outstanding results both times. From start to finish, Alex's team was professional, punctual, and incredibly skilled at what they do.

The prep and paint job was meticulous. They paid close attention to detail, protected my furniture and floors, and left my home spotless. The walls look flawless, and the finish is exactly what I wanted.

When it came to the floors, they really impressed me again. They took the time to explain my options, helped me choose the right materials, and the end result was beautiful—smooth, level, and visually stunning.

What really sets Home 2 Renovate apart is how easy they are to work with. Communication is clear, scheduling was a breeze, and they respected my time and home throughout the process. It’s rare to find a team that combines great customer service with top-quality workmanship, but they do it consistently.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to a friend and will absolutely use them again in the future.

I regret hiring Home 2 Renovate for my roofing project.

Sales Phase
* The selling points, for me, were the roof materials, including Deck Defense, Weather Lock Flex, and Deco-Ridge high profile ridge caps. I believed, as I was told, that the crew would do a decent job keeping the perimeter free of debris overnight.

Demo Phase
* The crew left a complete mess. I picked up numerous nails from the driveway, found debris on my front yard, a pallet which leaned against the screens on my window, damage to the metal sill on two recently installed front-facing windows, and a broken branch on one of the bushes. Not only was this unprofessional but also a safety hazard.

Installation
* The roof includes a chimney. I did not add a chimney to my home between the time I signed the contract and when work began. Neither did the pitch or profile to my home's roof change. Yet, somehow these two things became important factors during installation of material around the chimney (see pictures). Lift-and-stick material was left exposed to the elements. I was told that's essentially, that's what I purchased - "it's in the contract". There had to be some mistake, I'm not the only house with a chimney. I even understand 'surprises' come up during any home project; that's what change-orders and compromise are for. The bottom line, I was asked to pay 13% more to have this corrected with flashing and proper sealants. Sure, flashing around the chimney wasn't in the contract, but neither were roofing nails.

Oh, and those Deco-Ridge high profile ridge caps that would keep my home comfortable? My roof doesn't meet the specs to fit the material. I was given an $80 credit.

Communication
* This was, perhaps, the reason a lot of things didn't go well. I didn't know when the crew was coming or going. Whether they worked Sundays or not. A simple update at the end of the day would have worked. The only solution to the chimney issue was, "that's not what roofers do, you need have that stucco'ed". To my knowledge, this company has a general contractor license. But the only option I was offered was flashing.

I really wish there was a different outcome. I trusted the positive reviews here and was convinced the company would be a good partner. Next time, I'll be sure to add "zinc-coated steel 10 gauge roofing nails" to the contract.

Update: The owners of Home 2 Renovate called to discuss my dissatisfaction with the job and this resulting review. The aerial photo represents the final state of the roof once the job was completed. Ironically, it was taken by a *different* roofing company that I contacted to remedy the chimney situation. I did not hire the new company because they ultimately did not want to come in to correct the mistake. They were kind enough to provide an assessment and include the photos. I didn't have an alternative to correct the chimney before a pending rainstorm.

In response to this review, I noticed two misleading/false statements. 1) I did not threaten to withhold payment at any time. 2) That I renegotiated or attempted to renegotiate the price. To be clear, I was presented with an *additional* fee (change order) to remedy the chimney. However, I felt the chimney was covered in the original scope of work. It never dawned on me that I should include roofing around the chimney as a separate line item. That conversation went nowhere and it was then I asked to negotiate for work which now required to tear the lift-and-stick material and install as needed.

To clarify the need to meet three times, I didn't ask nor required that many meetings. The inspections, pictures, and opinions about what I *needed* was all part of the sales process, not something I asked for. Sales revolved around fixing the roof and painting the house. I did need to get back to work, I didn't have unlimited time or budget for everything that was recommended.

Lastly, the picture of the home with the front yard in view was taken at 6:45am on a Saturday, not the middle of the day. This is how the job site was left the night before.

Alex and the whole team were great. The operation was really efficient, with high quality craftsmanship - and they made sure that we had a new roof in time for the rain.
I really couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Home 2 Renovate were more than accommodating with our wants and concerns. They did all the work and allowed us to not have to worry. The work was superb and the employees were kind courteous and very accommodating with our family and even with our dog! There standards for craftmanship and professionalism were high from beginning to completion of the project.

I needed exterior painting for my home and I am so happy I went with Home 2 Renovate. Everyone was very professional (Roger, Jared, and the painting crew). After being disappointed with other companies, this company was honest, fair and I loved the finished product. I will definitely use them again for the next project.

This company is very professional and honest. A contractor cam out on-time as scheduled to provide a quote for gutter install. Roger walked me through the process and answered all questions I had. He was extremely friendly and I would recommend their services to anyone.

Hello there. Accurate review will take several hours to describe how amazing and professional are all employees of this company. Not only they replaced the windows in the timely manner, but completed the job with absolute professionalism.

Review talks about good quality, professionalism, responsiveness and being on time.

What about Good value? Should say GREAT VALUE. Yes, there are companies that will do it for lesser price. However, we are talking about professionalism, warranty, being licensed and insure and much more. What makes it Great not just good is their financing options. For instance I choose 10 months with 0% interest.
I can go on and on and on. However, will just say thank you Home 2 Renovate and thank you Jamie Brown and Jared Flores ( just to name a few). Thank you all.

In May 2023, Home 2 Renovate, Inc installed insulation in the attic of my 100 + year old house in View Heights/Windsor Hills. From start to finish, I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff at all levels from the project managers (PM)to the installers. I was on a tight timeline to sell my home; H2R responded promptly to my request for a bid and was able to complete my installation within a week of our initial contact. The installers were quick and efficient and did an excellent job cleaning up. The PM was especially helpful and provided 3 referrals to chimney specialists that I needed for another job. I would highly recommend this company.

P.S. I should note that I don't know how H2R prices compare with other contractors. H2R was the first to respond and I was impressed with their proposal so I opted not to get other bids.

Our home had a major water damage with water leak into the wall for years and we didn't know about it. The process was quick and straight forward. We booked a consultation through Angi app. 2 guys from Home 2 Renovate came to my house and took a look at the damage. I already have a quote from another competitor so I know the ball park of the estimation. The guys were very knowledgable, not pushy at all. Though, I have to say the meeting was WAYYYYY longer than I expected. I was lucky enough to work from home so I can talk to them. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be able to listen to their pitch. The quote came out about the same as the other competitor. But the insurance, the knowledge and the add on services are far better. Also, they have 0 interest financing on the spot. Our damage was big, so we took it. Their team came and finished the project within the promised timeframe. I wasn't in the states when they finished the project. So everything after they started was communicated through email and phone. The project manager came often to check on the project and talked to me to make sure I'm satisfied. We had some uneven paint spots, and their team came back and fixed it right away, no question asked. Then we had some hiccups in the communication and they went out of their ways to fix it for me. Very professional and they DO stand behind their works. They made sure I'm 100% satisfied. Will totally do business with them again!

Joey and JC were extremely helpful! We had a problem with our automated Pergola . They spent time tracking down the problem, calling the manufacturer for us and coming up with a solution. We can’t thank them enough for the friendly, professional help and thoroughness!! They went way beyond what they needed to to help us and we are grateful! We would not hesitate to use Home 2 Renovate again!!

I hired Home 2 Renovate to repair/replace the fascia boards, stucco and paint on my house. From start to finish H2R was professional and very thorough. I had a project manager at my house at the end of each day checking to see if I had any questions and how things were going.(Rare, nowadays) The crew that was onsite did a great job as well. They cleaned up at the end of each day and their work was top notch. They also took attention to detail and went above what they were asked to do. I would definitely hire H2R again for future projects.

Soo easy! I expect good service from any contractor I hire and I am often disappointed. H2R held up their part of the bargain but more importantly they made it easy and always fit within my busy schedule. I’ve had windows and doors and even after a few years they are still flawless. I’m already preparing to do more work on my rental until!! (Sliding door replacement behind dogs)

I hired this company to convert my garage into an ADU. They subcontraced all the work. The subcontractors were clueless unprofessional and left a mess. Most of the work had to be redone. Horrible experience I was put in the middle between the contractor and subcontractor. I would never hire this company again

I used Home 2 Renovate a couple years ago when they installed windows in my condo, the initial experience was great, and I recently reached out because I have a broken screen. They were helpful in pointing me in the right direction. Excellent service and product (Anlin windows). Thanks!

The estimators were good, presentation was convincingly great.. paint materials to be used were discussed and show the thickness and quality to deflect heat (cool-wall product). However, when done, pain didn’t get even close to the presentation thickness seen during the sample material presentation.

Assistant manager came to discuss additional wood needed , not even looking thru the entire balcony, standing still staring at small rotten wood , and tag a price for additional 8k. When I told him to stop the work , he then brought it down to 4K (just for a piece of beam?)

I told him I have to discuss with wife, but he wanted me to sign, so he was trying to put guilt trip on me saying he drove all the way down to our place to check… I said, that was a cheap way of excuse since it is his job to be present when needed, and the replacement of rotten wood was part of the original project for 14k already… he wanted to make 8k more.

Project manager, shows up but doesn't inspect if the materials being used are according to agreement. The annoying part towards the end was, he was trying to make me sign off the project even the workers still have lots to do, so he won’t have to comeback the next day. And he did not do a walk through…

Shoutout:
The father and son workers (George and George) are good and very professional and knowledgeable on what they do and needs to be fixed/do (very recommendable), as well as Sebastian the estimator who took time to measure and inspect for a close to accurate estimation.

The PM seemed not knowing the scope of the project. Coming to the site not knowing what the estimator has prepared. That’s why the outcome, though looking good, was missing the expected cool-wall looks we signed on during presentation.

Another thing, I asked for a minor change, the PM called the owner and I heard him say without measuring, to charge another 1k. I did not go for it.

The bottom line, besides the workers, whom deserve 5 rating, I think management and owner are irresponsible and not paying attention to detail AND OVER PRICING. We paid almost 19K for the exterior-over-the-garage-balcony project and the deck-flooring replacement was not even included…. A riff-off

Marty was one hour late to the appointment. Stood there for 45 min for "production team" to contact him. Finally gave a lumpsump astronomical estimate solely due to the location of the property which he profiled while here.

When I asked him the break the estimate in labor an material, he could not. The estimate had a huge amount for re scoping the job which basically said his estimate is worthless and he wasted 90 minutes of my time.

Alex Duarte, the owner of this company should be ashamed for the skim and the scam he created. Look elsewhere. This is not woth it.

Showed up for a rock house siding quote after being referred by Home Advisor. The guy showed up had zero knowledge of the work. He took measures and spent 20 minutes on the phone with his office. Finally he tells me he called a co-worker with more experience and kept stalling till she showed up. That 'experienced" person looked like a teenage girl who just rolled out of bed with ripped jeans and unprofessional attitude and also know technical knowledge. They sat in my backyard supposedly working on their bid. The guy sat back doing nothing while the gal was on her phone texting for all I know. I kept asking them for pricing and they were stalling again. Another hour later I finally gave up and told them they needed to leave, work on the quote on their own time and send it to me. They even won't acknowledge they were doing anything, telling me no one else had a problem wasting time watching them on their phone. Sorry, I have a life!
I won't hire them for free.

I work for a Solar company and had a home improvement question. Alex and Joey were happy to answer my customers question even though it didn’t benefit their own business. Knowledgable, helpful, and good at what they do. They deserve the incredible reviews they have on Angie’s List!

The overall presentation was fine. The 2-person team that came out to quote were friendly and knowledgeable. The number they gave me was comparable. So why the "F" grade you may ask? It is because the extremely shady pressure sales tactics they used at the end. 1) offering a discount if I committed TODAY - I told them I was waiting for extra quotes, I needed to do my homework. Yet they continued to push and push. EVERY other company offered to honor a discounted price from 1-week to even 3 months! 2) they kept asking if my spouse could join the presentation, but I was the primary decision maker. Apparently that wasn't enough. 3) they tried to make me feel guilty that their staff is sitting around waiting for window installation jobs when they've had to pay upfront for the windows and won't get paid until the job is done. Not my responsibility if they can't manage their finances better! 4) they tried to use the bulk/volume discount ruse. If these are custom windows, why are they bought in bulk??? 5) the owner got on the phone and was condescending and questioned why I was getting so many quotes. Which is truly none of his business. And in the end I told them their sales tactic were not appreciated and I was not happy. Prior I even told them I had wanted my house painted and asked for a quote. They couldn't do it at this same appointment apparently and told me I had to make another appointment for that job quote. I'm not wasting my time for more shady sales tactics.

UPDATE: Correct, I did not use this company. I asked for a QUOTE and the above was my experience. This was a delayed review. I got my windows done by another company.

We had a truly great experience with Home 2 Renovate from start to finish. The process started with an in-home visit where they explained all of our options, answered our questions, and clearly described the project costs and timing. The installation was scheduled pretty quickly after the initial consultation, and they were able to replace all our sliding doors and windows in a single day. The job was efficient and well-organized, and we are thrilled with the results. Everyone we spoke with at the company was courteous, friendly, and professional. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Started out rocky but they improved in the long run. Had to call the Project Manager the first 3 days to inform him the workers were not here within the 2 hours slot that they said they would show up. After several calls to the Program Manager, workers showed up on time and worked hard and long hours to get the job completed. We have gotten compliments on the job and are satisfied with the outcome.

I can honestly say that this was the most unprofessional representation of a company that I’ve ever come across. The rep that came to our house was named Lee who seemed highly unprofessional and acutely underprepared to effectively evaluate our needs.

Though we were absolutely clear with what we wanted it seemed like he was trying to steer our focus towards his own direction. He then disappeared for 15 minutes without saying anything and returned to tell me that he was not comfortable in speaking to me alone about the quote. We told him that we were having my mother in law help with a portion of the cost being that we are planning a job greater that $25k. Once he was informed of this his sole focus was on her and not needs. Though she is helping financially support, the project is ours. After 45 minutes of be patronizing and calling me “bud” (I’m 36 not 12) I let him know that he completely ostracized me from the sales process and lost my business. I could never recommend a company that treats potential customers in this manner.

To the manager of Lee:
I would hope that you could join him on a field call and see the damage he is doing to your company first hand. We are only one family out of many that he’s engaging with that took the time to give you this vital feedback and that cost your company close to $30,000. I feel comfortable in saying that he could be costing you hundreds of thousands of dollars in missed opportunities. We truly feel saddened by how he acted and how your company is represented on a ground level.

Consumers:
Best piece of advice is to steer clear of these guys. I feel like many of their reviews were purchased or given by friends. Don’t get fooled by these guys. Especially if you are spending tens of thousands of dollars. Hard pass.

Update 6.15.20

Spoke with Alexander, one of the owners at Home 2 Renovate. He was very Professional, Reasonable, and Responsive during our conversation. He listened to the events that took place of my dealings with his staff after hearing from his employees and was very understanding and apologized for the situation. Nothing to lose a career over, but lessons learned on how to treat people with respect and following through with what was promised before wasting each others time. In the end making the company a stronger company. Though I did not go through Home 2 Renovate, it was great to hear from the owner and see his Professionalism in the works. My paint job is complete through a different company, which received 4+ additional paint jobs and counting in my neighbor as it was time to update the paint in this HOA gated community.

Original

Went through home advisor and this company contacted me. All I wanted was a quick quote for a paint job. Never got it! They thoroughly reviewed my house which is not what I was looking for. Only a paint job was needed and they couldn't even quote me, though I gave them my criteria. 1st guys called their manager and his manager was pretty condescending, not professional at all. Had to send them on their way. They called again and I told them I don't have time, but they insisted and said will get me a quick quote, so gave them another shot. 2nd guy was more knowledgeable and responsible and also respectful of my time, but again no quote as they mentioned it's not the type of work they do. Sounds like if you need a quick job, it's not for them, they want more.

We used Home2Renovate to replace the ‘flat’ roof of our pool house (about 600 sq ft), which was visibly old and problematic and in addition had developed a very noticeable leak. They came promptly to provide an estimate and explained the work thoroughly, including a sample of the material that would be used to replace the roof. The work was performed on time and within a week, including removal of a passive solar heating system for the pool that we arranged for on our own and they were able to organize around.

The work was performed on time and professionally; the contractors and the roofers inspected the work beforehand and had the appropriate amount of new materials. The new roof is well sealed and while we have not had any serious rain to test it, I expect that we will not have any problems. I would recommend them.

I called this company to give me a quote on siding replacement because my house had water damage. Alex discouraged siding replacement. One of his workers told me later his company is not skilled at siding replacement. They primarily do roofing. He told me that a corner of my roof was the main culprit of the problem. This area had rotted wood under the roofing material and behind the siding that the roof butted up to. Alex told us we should replace the roof and all the rotted wood. We insisted that he put all that in writing on the contract. When his workers came to do the job, they had no supervisor with them. I called him to ask if they understood all the special requirements of this job. He didn’t even know they had already started. He thought they were going to start the next day. He did assure me, though, that everything written in the contract would be accomplished. The workers ended up finishing the job quickly and moved onto the next job. I found out a few months later that the crew installed the new roofing over the rotted wood, which was unstable. They made no attempt to replace any rotted wood and did not give me an opportunity to do anything about it. When i informed alex and other leaders in the company that the section of the roof is unsafe and needed to be redone, they told me “just don’t walk on it”. They kept saying “if the city passed it, then it is up to code”. That statement is completely untrue but they say it over and over again like a robotic response to every argument. Anyway, as i continued to insist they fix the problem, Alex turned extremely nasty, insulting me and my wife, saying we are just trying to take advantage of his company. I reported him and his company to the contractor’s license bureau. After many months of home2renovate playing games and spitting constant lies, the contractors license bureau agreed with all of my complaints about the work done by home2renovate and deemed that the work was done with negligence and was not up to code. Home2Renovate is a silver-tongued cult-like group with a very high pressure sales approach in which they insist all members of your family to be present during the sales pitch so they can create an emotional buying response. If you have a simple straight forward job that needs to be done, you might be okay using them as long as you don’t mind the high prices. If your job has any special needs, just know they will probably not address those needs. They are all about money which means they want to get your job done quickly and move on to the next job. Once your job is done they do not want to waste any more time on you, except when they are begging you to write positive reviews. They don’t genuinely care about you or your house. If you try to hold them to their word, they will switch from salesman polite to nasty and insulting in a moment’s notice. If you have problems with any of their work down the road, they will fight you and do everything they can to skate out of the responsibility. They will tell you they have lots of integrity and that they will have your back if anything goes wrong, but this company is the epitome of the phrase “I know you are lying because your lips are moving”.
