If you’re looking for a general contractor to help with a project on your home, I highly recommend Zack at Higher Expectations. Zack and his team helped to redo my mudroom and upstairs balcony from years of water damage. During the demo, we came across several problems with the original build. Every time we ran into a speed bump, Zack and his team had a fix. He kept me updated every step of the way, and worked with me to help find the best long term solution to the problem. Their hard work shows, as the new balcony and mudroom came out looking great!

Zack and his team were great in a tricky situation. Due to water damage I needed significant drywall and flooring repair quickly and they were able to complete everything with high quality and in a timely manner. I highly recommend them and will be using them again for future projects.

Zach and crew picked up a demolition job of our falling down barn on very short notice and got the barn down fast, clean and completely to our satisfaction. Pick up the phone, they answer!

Im a fellow contractor who sustained multiple injuries back to back, forcing me to slow down. When I had hired another contractor to do some work he canceled last minute. I called Zach and asked him if he could help me out on short notice. Zach and Jason not only showed up but stayed late every night until the job was completed. Amazing work! Zack and his crew renovated a master shower and jacuzzi tub, that was botched by another contractor. Only four years in and we found water UNDER the installed tile. Terrible. Zack was recommended to me by a friend, so I didn't know him prior to contacting him.

Not only did Zack go over what he and his crew were going to be doing and briefed me on progress each day, but he was patient when our tile took extra time to be delivered, AND he followed up on all questions I had! He even double checked with me regularly to make sure everything was to my liking.

The best part is, he was easy to schedule with, did top notch work, AND cleaned the entire area after he and his crew left.

I'm so dang happy with the result! Definitely recommend.

Huge Thank You to Zach at Higher Expectations General Contracting. After another contractor did a terrible job on my gut and remodel to the point that my tilt-in windows would not tilt-in. Zach came right away gave me an estimate and squeezed me in to fix it. I can't thank him enough, and the windows look great and work great.

Zack did a great job with earth work on my property. Friendly, timely, professional, skilled and understood the result I was after.

Zach was very friendly to work with. He was always straightforward with the details of the job replacing a divider wall in my basement. Then when he found cracks in my foundation he notified me immediately so we could discuss the next step. His workers did a great job and the wall, doors,yard and foundation look great. I’ll definitely be calling them back this winter to remodel my bathroom.

Zack and his crew did a outstanding job on our deck. He treated our deck as if it was the most important job he had. Everyone was professional and we plan on calling them back for future jobs.

I hired High Expectations to replace the deck. When the old deck was removed. They discovered the wall was rotted because of poor construction of old deck. Higher Expectations did a wonderful job of replacing wall and installation of new deck with ramp for my disabled husband. I would use them again.

We had Higher Expectations repair our camp after a very harsh winter. Zack and his team took on a very difficult job that many contractors would likely walk away from. The project involved a new foundation, removing/replacing a large deck, and taking down a very tall (100’) tree. Since the camp is at the bottom of steep hill, everything was done by hand. Not once did we hear any complaints from Zack & his team, only positive feedback.

They did an excellent job with the repairs, deck, and were very timely. The repairs & construction were top notch using custom order materials that other contractors would likely not use. For example, the foundation used 20 ft 2x12’s that needed to be special ordered. The deck used special order decking so there are no seams.

Communication was excellent. Zack was very responsive and proactive.

We were blessed to have found Zack and plan to contract with Higher Expectations for additional work next spring.

We have used Zack for multiple projects and he has always been great! He is great at communicating with us and gets everything done quickly and to a very high standard. We would highly reccomend his company for any home project!

Zack is amazing to work with. He was hands on thru the whole project that blew up into something more than expected but he took the time to explain everything and price stuff out and really help guide me to the best decision for a “solid foundation”!! He really is thorough and thoughtful!! I never had an unanswered text or phone call. He always had suggestions and/or he knew a guy…which was helpful several times. Zack was professional all the way from starting the project all the way to the end. He was available whenever I had a question. I was informed before the project when his crew was going to start and when his crew was going to be done. They did a great job. The crew installed a metal roof because one of the past storms had damaged my roof. The roof adds to the appearance of my home. I really love how it looks from the road. They also replace all the broken skirting from the same storm. They made a new shelter for my outside oil tank. All the materials for the projects was on site right from day one. This Spring they will demolish my deck and replace it with one which will add at great look to my home. Zack is the one to call for any project you need done either inside or outside, large or small he will get it done in a timely manner. Thank you for the beautiful job on my home!!!

Zach completed a remodel of my bathroom in Lisbon Falls. My house is 103 years old so a update was much needed. Zach was wonderful. He kept me updated on each step of the remodel process and when he said he would be at my house to work Zach always showed up. He all so completed the project in the 30 days he promised. Big thank you to Matt who was always there helping with the project. He is very personal, and polite and a fun individual. I would hire Zach in a heartbeat to do any project in my house.

Zack came highly recommended for our master bath renovation and he and his work far exceeded our expectations! The key to a great contractor is communication and I can honestly say Zack excels in this area. He is very personable, we always knew exactly when he would be at the house, he explained everything as his work progressed, and he offered great suggestions that resulted in an even better finished product. I am a perfectionist and I think I have finally met my match! His tile work is meticulous and if he doesn’t like something he re-works it until it’s perfect.
