I have had Heron lawn service for a couple of years. This year, they really dropped the ball. By June, my lawn was covered with weeds. I called to complain and requested a refund for the May service. They hemmed and hawed, but finally obliged. They said the refund would go back on my credit card. Weeks went by and it did not. I called a few times and was finally told that "the check is in the mail". Now 16 days later, still no check. To make matters worse, I got an email from a collection agency today saying I owed Heron money! Unbelievable. I spent two hours of my time on the phone until I could get Heron to send the collection company an email stating I had no outstanding balance with them. Complete waste of my time, and I'm still uncertain if I will ever see my refund check or if there's a ding on my credit report. I asked that Heron send me an email clearly stating that I have never been deliquent on a payment and explaing how this happened... and still, there are weeds all over my lawn and two patches of dead grass that are continuing to grow in size.

We have had Heron for several years and our lawn has looked beautiful. Now we have a problem with torpedo grass and I was told by the technician it's just another type of grass and other weeds. I'm disappointed and frustrated. We are looking for a new lawn pest contol.

My sales rep was very professional and sensitive to my many needs. I purchased new installed sod and joined their grass, shrub, tree care, and pest control service and it is very cheap for what they offer. They give you very detailed itemized invoice with each visit that shows you pictures of your lawn with comments by the technician and specific details of the work they performed. I'm really happy with my service.

I signed up in September my grasswas still horrible so at the end of March I canceled I paid 500 something dollars for the year my refund was a 138. So just now before you sign my grass still looked terrible after 6 months and this is the 2nd time I've tried this company do not use them. Ps they owe me more then 138.00,

Mike Smith from the Ormond FL office came by to do an irrigation system inspection, here for an hour! Gave me several heads to adjust or replace. Also used a meter to locate cause of the roof leak in my office. Mike is a super professional. Glad I switched to Heron for lawn fert & pest control!

So unfortunately we have to update this post. Over a year ago we started with Heron. We did everything they recommended including cut height, watering etc. What a disappointment. Our yard is worse now than before. The promise to treat our yard and not use mass mixed chemicals was not correct. We have more weeds growing than ever. We went went another company a little over a month ago, and WOW what a difference. Just in the first 6 weeks, we see the problem areas starting to remedy. Heron was highly recommended to us, and I am sorry we did not get what was promised. We had multiple on site visits with the manager to no avail, nothing changed. After cancelling service, I have requested on numerous occasions a call back from a manager to discuss. No Call Back at all. Sorry I wasted so much money before switching. Do not recommend.

We use Heron for our pest control service and we couldn’t be happier. They are extremely responsive and their customer service and professionalism is hands down the best I’ve seen in a company. I am very pleased with the service they provide and definitely recommend!

In the 6 months I used Heron they managed to kill a big spot of grass. Mine is the worst looking on the street. Manager said they would retreat free and replace did which they did not. Then they billed for the so called free treatment. Very unorganized company don't deliver on their words. Would not trust, look elsewhere.

I wanted my home irrigation system completely redone as it was old. I had many different companies come out to give me pricing. Heron had Dan Shaw come to give me a quote. Dan was head and shoulders above all the competition. His professional attitude and his approach was so better than what I experienced with other irrigation companies in the area. He had a well thought out plan that was concise and easy to understand. I pretty much hired them on the spot. I would love to say all was perfect after that but it wasn’t. The work was scheduled for two weeks out after I hired them. The team showed up but no one bothered to check with the city to make sure gas lines had been marked. I had taken off work to be there so this was a big deal. I called in and spoke to a manager named Eddie. Eddie was the polar opposite of Dan the sales person. He was rude, condescending, and nothing was his fault. Now to be honest I was upset at the fact I took a vacation day to get this done and now they were telling me it can’t be done and I was not happy, but as a manager he should be trained to handle an upset customer. He wasn’t at all and honestly needs to be fired the way he treated me. I was ready to pull the 5,000 job from them when Dan called me. Again Dan saved the day. He was able to talk me off the roof. Instead of arguing with me like Eddie, he listened to my problem, calmly made some suggestions to fix the problem and was just easy to talk to. He came up with an acceptable solution and in a week they had my system installed. Eddie is the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. Being in sales myself it just goes to show having the right person in a customer service position can make or break a company. So I would absolutely give them a chance to do work for me again, just as long as Eddie hides in a corner where he belongs.

The pest control service is outstanding. Mainly due to the efforts of the technician Charles Koerick. Very dedicated and always knocks on door to introduce himself and explain the service he is performing.
The lawn care service is unfortunately not nearly as good. If i don't happen to see the technician i don't know here is here. He does not address obvious deficiencies in the lawn, suggest a solution, or explain what he is applying.
The lawn is not bad but the service is just not up to the standard I expect for the rather hefty fee.

We have been using Heron for lawn, shrub and pest control since 2015. We get compliments on our lawn all the time. It looks great, shrubs are doing well and the house is basically bug free. If there is ever a problem between visits you just call and they come out to fix it immediately (once during the dry season we had some small ants come into the house) Love Heron!

After 4 months of service I am very displeased. I’ve had 2 lawn applications and 3 pest control applications. 2 pest control applications were scheduled, but I had to call in a third because the problem was getting worse. In fact, I didn’t even have a pest control problem to begin with, I was only interested in lawn care, but I thought, “why not add pest control?” Well now I know why not…

The grass has more weeds, more fire ant mounds, and the inside of the house has more silverfish and ants which all seem to have become immune to whatever magic potion Heron is supposed to be putting in the yard and on the inside of the house… To be quite honest, after reading some of the reviews and having my own experience, it wouldn’t surprise me if it were actually bait Heron was putting down to attract more pests.

To top it all off, they would not offer me any compensation when I called to cancel. And the salesman, Bob, who I signed and then had to cancel with wanted to bring the manager out to look at it and see what else they could do… as if I want them to even attempt to fix a problem that they created… and if a history of awful service ends up repeating itself, then by the time they left I’d probably end up with dinosaurs in my yard this time... So thanks for the offer, but no thanks Heron. And of course he sighed at me for asking for some type of refund. He said he would send it up for approval, but as expected I never heard anything back. In fact, they actually charged me again this month another $30 because they claimed that the pest control services weren't completely paid for because of some funky way they had my monthly payments. Just straight garbage all around.

It was a complete mistake and waste of time and money to hire a company like Heron. It’s just a darn shame that people can’t do their jobs anymore and that customer service has gone completely out the window.

We hired Heron for lawn and pest control services. After 4 months and over $300 later, our lawn looks no different. If anything, we have more weeds now than we did when we were treating it ourselves and the fire ant mounds just keep popping up everywhere.

We didn't have any major pest control issues prior to their services. Just the occasional spider or silverfish here and there. We signed up initially because of some ants coming in through our bathroom window.
After the first scheduled pest control appointment, we had to call them out a week later because the ant problem got worse. Months later I'm seeing more silverfish than ever and the ant problem moved from our master bath now to the guest bathroom, where we never had any ant problems before. I almost think they purposely spray something or put bait down to attract bugs so that you will have to continue using their services. We have cancelled and will go back to doing things ourselves.

I have been a customer of Heron's for close to three years. I had a contract for lawn care, shrub care and for a specimen palm tree. About 8 months ago, I noticed that my shrubs were being infested with small insects and my specimen palm tree fronds were turning yellow. They came out to spray the shrubs and the insects disappeared for a couple of weeks, but then returned. I let them know, but they didn't show up again until my scheduled spraying. I still have insects on many of my shrubs. As for the palm tree, things went downhill over the course of a couple of months. First the technician told me it was getting too much water. Then he told me it needed magnesium. The next theory was that it lacked potassium. A supervisor came out and told me it could be an insect problem. In other words, they didn't have a clue to its ailment. During this whole time, they were drenching the tree in chemicals to see what would work. Needless to say, the tree got worse and eventually died. While I am not an authority, I have been told by a number of people that to replace my palm tree with an identical one would cost me around $5,000. When I asked Heron what they were going to do to compensate me for the loss of my tree under their care, I heard nothing but crickets. The last straw was when they didn't show up for a scheduled treatment on a Saturday. I sat home the whole day waiting for the technician, but he was a no show. No call. No apology. Nothing. They were subsequently fired the next business day. I am still considering legal action against them for the loss of my tree. Be very careful if you plan to use them. Make sure you understand what their responsibility is and whether they will replace any dead plants under their care.

Stellar customer service, cost and selection of services. We're new to the area and Heron was recommended to us by a colleague. We are very grateful to have found a pest and lawn control company we can trust. Bob Allman was our service consultant and highly recommend him. He's thorough, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Heron Landscape is in every way one of the best companies we've ever worked with. They are professional, knowledgeable, responsive, courteous and go above and beyond to care for your out doors and your family. We subscribe to 4 services with them.

When we found ticks in our yard, Matt Mckendree, our service consultant, was there on a Saturday morning within an hour.

Every issue we've had with lawn and pest has been handled effectively and they appreciate their clients. Every time I have a concern about anything from weeds to invoicing, someone is there to solve the issue beyond my expectations.

I have never been treated so rudely by a company as I was by Heron's Home and Outdoor customer service. One of their "representatives" named Megan hung up the phone call after some inquiry into a free pest trapping that we were offered. I found out from Megan that free means you have to pay for $2000 worth of services or you aren't worth talking to.

Unbelievable. An appalling way to handle customers - go with someone else. They'll at least treat you with respect.

They do an excellent job and even better in this day and age their customer service is stellar. I live in a wooded area in New Smyrna and my home is pest free. I highly recommend this company especially for flea termite and roach treatment.

the guy that showed up when I was opening the account was very nice and assured me that he was always going to be there if I needed anything . I added lawn and pest control. their pest control department is horrible! the appointment times were never honored. once I waited 2 weeks for an appointment, the guy never showed up and did not even call to say he was wasn't coming. they reschedule my appointment and it turns out that no appointment was schedule when I called to confirmed. when I called the guy that register me originally so I could explain to him my frustration - the one that assured me he will always be available- he did not even bother replying back to me. just a hot mess! I will just have to do my own extermination work! dont use their pest control ever again!

Great experience. New to Florida last year and they were so amazing at explaining everything. They did inside and out and after 6-8 months we needed them to come back for the inside and they were so wonderful at not only accommodating anything needed but ensuring we understood what to expect in FL and in our specific area. They were not pushy and didn't mind the extra time to explain. The regular person that sprays is great at noticing anything different, is so very polite and always does a great job. We would have run out in the yard barefoot with our teenage boys without knowing there was a huge fire ant infestation!!!! THANK YOU Heron!!! Regards, Cindy (Port Orange)

After being stood up twice on two different days in one week by Heron I then called again very upset. They informed me that they had deactivated my contract because of a message from their answer service but without a follow-up call to me. I then made a phone call to the corporate office and within 2 hours I had a sprinkler expert at my door who listened to me finally and did what was necessary to fix the problems.
I have had Heron for a few years for yard, sprinkler service and termite and have been satisfied with the way my lawn has looked. The lawn on one side of my house was not doing well but the sprinklers were not reaching the entire section and that was my biggest complaint from the day they installed that section.
I now have exactly what I should have had a couple of years ago for the best results on my lawn. I am grateful to Toby Gaudin, James Dennis and the tech, Cory, for listening to me. I can't understand how all this happened to begin with because Heron has been a good company and I have recommended them so often. I hope this was just a glitch and that the people answering the phone at the local office do a better job with follow up for their customers. But I am so pleased to know that this is not the norm for this company and that there are people who care and are definitely committed to customer service. To those people, I say thank you for going above and beyond to make me a satisfied customer once again. You scored an A+ with me!

We have several techs visit our home and all of them are very professional and friendly. Recently Corey visited to check the irrigation system and although he was slated to visit one more custom after us (it was already 6 pm), he completed everything and was very helpful.
