My wife Karen and I approached John Gluth of Gluth Building in January of 2018, shortly after we had lost our house to fire. He led us trough the intricacies of rebuilding on the same site. He began with introducing us to a designer, Johnson Designs of Oak Harbor, OH, who took our sketches, offered many helpful suggestions, then did professional drawings at a reasonable rate. Gluth Building soon gave us a detailed quote that enabled us to adjust the design to our budget, then soon gave us a re-quote that we could work with. During this process, John Gluth was very helpful in explaining all of the cost/quality-level issues so we could make sound decisions. Once the construction started, John, who invited us to visit the site anytime we wished, was on the site himself doing much of the work while directing his crew. Daily visits to the site impressed us with the level of quality workmanship we experienced. Everything we looked at was solid, square, plumb and true. In one instance, John himself pointed out that a window opening had been inadvertently made larger than it was supposed to be, and when we returned that evening, it was re-done. On another occasion, we questioned a defect in a piece of siding done by a subcontractor, and the next day it was fixed. We were impressed with the level of workmanship and professionalism exhibited by all the subcontractors. As an example, the electrician's wiring was so neat that it looked like it had been installed by a robot, and when the house was completed, even the screw slots in the electrical cover plates were all oriented identically. Such attention to detail was typical of the work done by Gluth Building and its subcontractors. In the months after we moved in, we had some minor issues, which were corrected immediately. We highly recommend this contractor.
