Over the past ten years, Greg Winn has been our go-to, all-purpose general building contractor. Greg built a custom home for us from the ground up. He was a partner all the way, from before we even bought the lot. We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of the new home GH Winn Builders crafted for us. From the time we began working with Greg to plan our new home several years ago through the completion of our home earlier this year, it was apparent Greg’s heart was as much in the building of our home as were ours. He gave us the best advice when there were decisions to be made. He suggested changes to improve our house. No step was completed until it met Greg’s high standards. He and his exceptionally skilled team treated the construction of our house not just as another job but as a project they’d always be proud of. Greg is a great builder! He built me a small home on land I have owned for a long time. And while the home is small, Greg was meticulous in getting everything right. Everyone that has seen the house in person has commented on how well it is built. One builder said he knew it was well built when he couldn't find a single defect while looking it over from the outside. Greg offered up numerous suggestions along the way that really enhanced the quality and character of the home. His knowledge of the building trade really showed in our discussions and he seemed to be current with the latest building methods and best practices. He also has great subcontractors who did awesome work - electrical, painting, etc. Greg always made himself available to answer questions and respond to the inevitable issues and concerns that this type of endeavor is bound to encounter. He is very trustworthy. He has become more of a friend than just my building contractor. I would wholeheartedly recommend him (and have) to someone looking to build.

We own a 130 year old, classic northern New England farm house, with a 150 year old barn on the property. Renovating such a place is an incredible challenge, as one needs to deal with old materials and construction practices and to preserve the character of the buildings while modernizing them. Greg Winn has been spectacular in doing this over a 25 year period, as we have restored different parts of both structures. His attention to detail, his commitment to quality, his ability to meet budgets, his gracious manner in keeping us informed at every stage of the process, his patient explanations of options and tradeoffs, his superb craftsmanship – all are phenomenal, and we are delighted with the results. As we embark on the next phase of renovation, we can’t imagine using anyone other than Greg, and we highly recommend him to others.
