Got my fan blower in my truck done here, not very cheap but you get what you pay for. Worked grate for the day but unfortunately truck caught fire about a couple days and 50 miles later. There was no known reason why it caught fire so not blaming anyone. Just really bad luck lately I guess.

went in there today to get an axle bearing and retainer pressed on my jeep axle. I had already removed the old one. I walked in and Fred looked at it and took it back and in less than 5 minutes he was done! and he refused to take any money for the little time it took him to do it! nobody does that anymore, and with a smile! Thanks! I'll be back when work is needed! not expecting it to be free, of course :)

Honest people and quality work. Very easy to work with and they stand behind their work. They will take the time to explain and show things to you and make sure all your questions are answered. Pricing is fair for the work they do, I'd rather spend a little more for a hassle free repair done right the first time.

We took our Class C in for an oil change and replace the shocks and a general inspection. Upon inspection, they immediately advised that all 6 tires need to be replaced. Which we did at Les Schwab from there. The entire staff was awesome. No problem getting in and out...same day service!

They got my car in quickly diagnosed it and fixed it. They gave me a quote and that was exactly what they billed me. So far so good.

Had an EGR fail in March of 2020. They replaced it and did an oil change at the same time. While under my pick up the mechanic noticed that my transfer case has a decent Leake. Kathy called me immediately and told me that it needed to be done sooner than later whether it was with them or not. It was not safe to be losing that much fluid. They sealed it and replaced the fluids. This year about 6 months later the EGR failed again and they honored the warranty and replaced again free of charge. I had noticed that I had a very loud "popping" noise come from under my pick up while turning and my overall handling had decreased all happening just within day of my appointment for the EGR replacement. With how busy they are, the made time to tackle a last min secondary issue. They have been up front and honest both times. They will continue to have my business. Thank you to the team there at Fred's!!!

I heard that Fred's did the automotive repair for the Washington State Patrol in this area, so I decided to give his shop a try since no one else could tell me exactly what was wrong with my piece of junk Toyota 4Runner. He took a look at it and asked if I had a few minutes because he wanted to degrease it to see where the oil is coming from. I've been to five other area mechanics and none of them had suggested doing that, and gave me a range of issues that all turned out to be wrong. Within a few minutes, Fred had a diagnosis on why the engine was leaking and where the oil was coming out of and I finally had an answer. He also told me not to worry about it instead of incurring a $2,000 repair bill. The oil only tend to spew out over 3,000 RPM. I really appreciate his conscientiousness and thoroughness and I take all my vehicles there now. I highly recommend them.

Fred works on all my vehicles, personal, business, and has replaced three different engines in three different cars. Fred has always had quick friendly service at a very competitive and reasonable price. I would recommend this shop to anyone, they are extremely trustworthy and credible.

Nice people, but ultimately my experience did not turn out to be positive.

They put a new engine into my car, which was done very promptly considering the difficulty and size of the job. Unfortunately the engine had a bad rear main seal.

Louis nicely offered to fix it. I turned it in, and two weeks later he calls and says it's ready. I get it back and nothing has changed. Still leaking oil.

A real hassle. A shame because they seemed like really nice people.

My clutch went out on me, to which Louis did an excellent job at repairing. What I liked the most is the towing service is from the same place as the mechanic, so I didn't have to look for two different companies to have my car towed and worked on. Now ... I've got my air conditioning to fix -- maybe I'll use Louis' services, he certainly knows what he is doing.

The people are okay but I strongly dislike their repair work. My Grandpa had my pickup taken their in March of 2016 to have it worked on. It idled rough, had a random misfire, and a severe power loss. Before I took it there, I did an old fashioned self test for codes the night before with a paper clip and got a code 113, 122,172,173, and a 337 and I did not tell them this with intent to see if they knew what to look for and they came up empty for codes so I knew they weren't doing something right. They did a basic tune up on it the first time, which I could have easily done myself but my Grandpa wanted them to do it. Got it back, and it didn't run any better. A month later, we took it back thinking they wouldn't charge to fix the problem they couldn't get right the first time, and they charged for the second time as well. Got it back the second time and it still ran the same. $1K and the problem went unresolved. VERY unhappy with them for taking our money and doing unnecessary part replacement.

Really helped out when I needed to tow and replace my whole steering column in my jeep. Fairly priced too when compared to other place's estimates.

Fred's automotive (Fred and Louie) are the only mechanics I trust to work on my vehicles. I do a lot of my own minor repairs but leave the big stuff to these guys. They are honest, trustworthy and the most knowledgeable mechanics I know.

Fred's Automotive totally came through when we were in a pinch. My buddy's boat trailer wheel went flying off going 70mph on I-90. We luckily found the wheel on the other side of the highway, limped into Les Schwabb and they got it "patched" back with a spare tire and parts on but it was only a temporary fix. We got to Loon Lake and the next morning called Fred's up and they said, get 'er in. In no time Fred's provided a permanent fix and even advised how we could salvage the original wheel - Les Schwab said it was toast so that was great news.
Fred's Automotive is the best. I like Fred's mindset - "Anything can be done". Right on Fred - I'll always take my vehicles to you. Thanks.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
