FirstDay Cottage

Built my lakefront Firstday Cottage 17 years ago. Still living in it, and expect it to last another 100 years or more. Building instructions are easy to follow. Most of the built can be done with one person, and some with a helper.
The architect David was awesome and extremely helpful. I heard that he was a MIT graduate having some of his architectural designs featured in prominent architectural magazines. He and his wife built their own cottage when they were young and believe that others should be able to do the same. I couldn't agree more, especially in today's housing market, pricing many young people out of homeownership.
Don't jump into it though. Look through the website and see how others did it, to see whether it is right for you. It is not hard, but takes determination to finish it.

Couldn't love our 1st day how more. David is a patient and super qualified architect who listens to his clients and is always available to answer questions and help problem solve.

DIY home kits. I can't recommend David Howard enough! I went thru Firstday Cottage to build my own house. Houses are designed to be build by anyone. Simple designs and excellent material puts this company above any other DIY options out there. David is there every step of the way....just a phone call away. IT IS NOT EASY TO BUILD YOUR OWN HOUSE... photos provided are of my own home.
