They were recommended by my insurance agent. I have been completely satisfied with their work so far. They have kept me in the loop and when they finished everything was cleaned up.

Craig was wonderful as were all the men working for First Call. Our basement was dried out and ready for new floors after an electrical outage during a major storm stopped our sump pump during the night. Everyone was very polite and efficient working quickly to remove what needed to go. We highly recommend this group for your cleanup needs.

Great company with great responsiveness. After a large rainfall in May they were able to get out there the same day and provide top tier service. They were so slammed and Blake brought out all of the equipment himself. I couldn’t recommend these guys and Blake enough.

I’ve had FirstCall over six times because of water mitigation issues and every time they have been helpful, knowledgeable and honest. I’ve been very impressed with them. We’ve worked with Greg, Logan, Jenny, Craig, and Blake.
When our washing machine leaked through our second floor, they dried out the floor and the ceiling below and even helped us find someone to repair the ceiling.
When our child left the water running in an upstairs bath and we found the water dripping into the living room below. They came, inspected everything, and told us that we didn’t need to do anything because there wasn’t that much water and the weather was dry enough that it would dry itself. That was when I was most impressed with them!

Kellan our restoration specialist was professional with just the right touch of humor to make us feel more at ease with the process to come. Our mitigation manager Craig took over the next day and made quick work of the plan of attack. Our primary mitigation leader Matt Barker was kind, professional, and such a hard worker! He deserves 10 stars. He answered all our questions and kept us informed of what to expect next. They did such a great job with mitigation, we decided to use them for the repair and remodel phase, too!

We had some water staining on our ceilings from an apparent roof leak. We couldn’t tell where the leaks were coming from, so we called Firstcall Restoration. Robert and Doug came right out to inspect. They went up into the attic and found where the leaks were coming from and what needed to be done to fix them. I would highly recommend Firstcall to anyone. Amazing experience! Nothing worse than finding your entire basement flooded on a Saturday morning. Called my insurance....response Monday at the earliest.
I called firstcall and they were out in a couple hours. They walked me through the whole process. Matt Barker was our litigation leader and let me know every step of the process and always kept us in the loop. While my insurance wasn't available on a weekend first call was. And Matt continued to make sure I knew what was going on the whole time. Hopefully I never have to call them again but I know who to call if I do.

Just had my basement cleaned from Craig and Logan and Blake. They did an awesome job completing my cleaning services.

Highly recommended. FirstCall did a complete renovation after the building was partially damaged by fire. They completed in a timely and professional manner, and on budget. It’s a peace of mind not having to deal with city permits, inspections, codes, etc…they handled it perfectly.

Firstcall was suggested by our insurance company and they were a good choice. Prompt, professional and they definitely knew what they were doing. Everyone was very helpful, especially Craig, Greg and Matt and the two gentlemen who removed the drywall, flooring and carpet that was damaged.

I am extremely satisfied and happy with the mitigation service I received from First Call. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. The process flowed very well as they kept me informed at all times. They took care of everything, calling before coming over, respecting me and my home. The guys were all so friendly and considerate. I would call them again if I needed to.

I called first call after a child mishap, Blake promptly came out, unfortunately due to weather events he would not be able to bring any equipment for a few days, but he was able to offer advice and be a source of information to point me in the right direction.

What could’ve been a total nightmare turned into a smooth, stress-free process. Every single person we interacted with was exceptional—too many to name, but all equally amazing.

I was extremely pleased with Firstcall Restoration. They were professional, courteous, honest and the work they performed was done efficiently and timely. I had a choice of restoration companies to utilize and I’m confident I made the right choice. I highly recommend them.

In my honest opinion, I would suggest to do your own repairs if you are able to. I chose this company after a house fire and I regret it for many reasons. Short version -The PM lacked communication, direction, knowledge, follow through, guidance, basically every aspect of a Project Manager. They sub-contract most tasks, they do some cleaning on their own (of which is the "minimum required" and less than half-assed, mind you) so if you are expecting to have smoke damage removed, just do it yourself. What they claim to have "cleaned" was appalling and absurd. But, since it all gets covered in sealant (low-end, that is) they don't care. Afterall, they aren't the ones living there, they are just the ones getting money for the job.

I even came home to unsafe conditions on a few occasions (bulkhead left on the floor with 2 inch nails sticking out, kitchen walls/floor/dog water bowl full of insulation from poorly sealed (or forgotten to be) vapor barrier over newly installed insulation. They left a motor fan blowing on this section of wall for hours, so that was horrible to come home to. Not to mention, having to clean all of that off of my dogs and worry about how much of it they lapped up from their water bowl. I had to constantly clean up someone's mess that was left behind. Always picking/sweeping up screws, nails, etc.

We had paint spray residue all over our upper level (doors, handles, mirrors, bathroom cabinets, door trim, windows, bedding, wood floors, etc.) from not being blocked off. We had to ask repeatedly for walls to be re-cleaned, and were constantly told "it's been cleaned", or "that's all we have to do", "we wiped the walls with the dry sponge", etc. You could see uneven and wide spaced streaks, you could see large areas that were not even tended to in addition to full walls that weren't even tended to. Luckily, we observed like a hawk, again....this is our home, not a check to us, so we made sure to do what they could not.

PM often commented about how nice things looked, insinuating that his crew did a great job....well, his crew didn't do those particular things. My husband and I did that part of the job. (We didn't have this company do all of the work. We had them do about a third and we did the rest ourselves because we had reservations about restoration companies to begin with).

We just heard from the electrician last week. He said he was wondering if he was to come back to the house or not since he never heard back from the PM. He sat idle for almost a month. We had to reach out to him.

It was an unfortunate situation that kept getting worse. Luckily, it's over and ways have been parted.

Pay attention to your estimate, review your estimate, do your research, learn tasks, understand tasks, have confidence, ask questions, demand answers, do things yourself, and or hire your own contractor(s) if you feel inclined. You will be told at the beginning stages that certain things are "required", ...and, that is certainly NOT the case. Always, always, do your research. Call your City if you have questions/doubts, etc. about what is or is not allowed/required. Call your mortgage company. Do your research.

Restoration companies work hand-in-hand with insurance companies, for a reason...

6/19/25 - Adding to this - I recently found out that my 'heavy duty/professional HVAC cleaning' was in fact not done in it's entirety nor as lead to be believed. When my own independently contracted HVAC rep was at my house just 2 days ago I got confirmation of this as we both saw it firsthand. Talk about another huge disappointment to say the least. Luckily, my contractor took the liberty of doing it himself as he felt so bad for us and it was in SERIOUS need of cleaning. He spent a full hour cleaning, and I wasn't even charged for it.

Firstcall moved quickly when I called on them for basement and driveway restoration work. Craig Kintz and Greg Kronstadt explained the process upon first visit. Craig and his mitigation team completed the project efficiently. Craig was quick to respond on site and in taking care of follow up questions I had during the project via phone. Thank you to the entire Firstcall Team!

I had a water line break and was referred to Firstcall Restoration. I called them (after 5:00pm) and within 20 minutes, two people showed up. Four more arrived within a short time and the clean up began. They were all so professional and caring, showing respect for me, my pets and my property. Craig, Logan, Matt Y., Zach B., Chris W., Ryan, Kevin W., and Derek all worked on my home for several days drying it out and tearing out damaged materials. Great company and great people who stick behind their word and care for their clients. Mike and one of the owners didn’t catch his name but they’re great people. My mom had her kitchen flooded and first call was great through and through, there was some minor details missed in the restoration and when we called they went above and beyond to make it right. A tree fell on my house and damaged my roof,gutters and deck .my agent hooked me up with first call and everything went smoothly and I'm very happy with the results thank you all for the prompt response

Had a water leak in our bathroom while we were out of town on vacation, which expanded to our bedroom and leaked down into the basement. Kellen came over and removed insulation, installed fans and made sure that there was no lasting moisture in the flooring which could lead to tile damage. He was very quick, professional and the price was the most affordable out of all of the companies we contacted. Definitely coming back if we ever need anything like this again!

Mike Baldwin and Jeff Lindquist provided professional and top-notch reconstruction work in our home—drywall, painting, and flooring. They were trustworthy and efficient and completed all in a very timely way. They exceeded our expectations!

Also, estimates were clear, and invoicing thus far has matched without any surprises. We have been confident in our decision to work with First Call.

My experience with the Firstcall mitigation team has been exceptional. I had a water pipe burst in my basement. Logan from Firstcall was in my basement setting up fans and dehumidifiers within 90 minutes of getting the call. Mitigation manager Craig is top notch. Within 24 hours he and his team had the damaged carpet, wood trim and drywall removed and the drying process was well underway. It sucks to have water in your basement but Craig and team made the experience a lot less painful. Highly, highly recommended.

Logan and Chris were very professional, knowing what forms I would need to sign based on my insurance provider. They were at my home within 90 minutes with their crew ready to assess and mitigate the situation. They worked fast and effectively within a couple days. Everything had dried out and they handled providing a repairs estimate with my insurance claims adjuster. Would rely on them again if the need arises.

First Call was recommended to me last year when my basement was flooded with sewage and I am so thankful that I called them. From start to finish the First Call restoration team was amazing to work with. There were a few weeks after the flooding that we couldn’t move forward with anything because of insurance, buying that time I had no hot water at all. The first day First Call was able to start working, they assigned Chuck to manage everything, I mentioned the hot water and he had it fixed within hours.

I cannot say enough about chuck’s work on this project. We had to completely gut the basement, which meant a lot of people in and out of the house, Chuck always made sure to give me heads up, to introduce me to anyone who was going to be there, I saw him frequently and I knew I could trust him. He answered my texts in a timely fashion and was always happy to answer questions. He made sure everything was in budget, even the one change I asked for in the basement, which was adding in French doors onto my office.

They did an amazing job. My basement looks amazing and I have not stopped raving about the team since. I would recommend a first Call to anyone needing restoration work. Thank you, thank you, thank you First Call. And especially Chuck.

When 1st Call was notified by my insurance adjuster. They responded immediately. A Rep was at my home in less than an hour after the call. Two more arrived soon after. The damaged area ripped up. Blowers & Dehumidifiers placed. 48 + hrs later. A crew came to retrieve the equipment.
Due to communication issues between insurance adjuster, FC & myself. I wound up going with another contractor to finish up the job of replacing the flooring, My FC Rep came down with the Flu [which is rampant across IA. at this time] & was down for a week. This information didn't reach me until I had contacted someone else. Otherwise, FC would have finished the job.

Jeff , the project manager, was thorough and coordinated the project professionally. We were informed on every step of the way and everything was completed in a timely manner. When the project was completed, he conducted a complete inspection of the project.
Tony, the contractor, was excellent and made sure that everything was replaced as it was prior to the incident.

After our basement flooded, we felt helpless and unsure about how we could possibly recover. We were referred to First Call and were surprised when their reps were reviewing our situation within 48 hours. They quickly went into action to demo wet drywall and carpet. A plan was formulated to replace drywall, doors and woodwork. Painting soon followed along with final repairs. Jenny, Ryan and Emily went above and beyond what we were expecting. Our basement is now brand new and beautiful. Thank you First Call team!

We had a toilet overflow at our home. Our insurance connected us with FirstCall. From the time our adjuster first contacted us to the time that Craig first arrived with fans and dehumidifiers was less than 90 minutes! Our project included replacing a hip roof with a gable and new shingles on the entire roof and new gutters. They definitely deserve 5 stars. Everyone we dealt with were awesome! It started with Doug and finished with Travis as project manager. Honestly, it makes a difference when ALL the crews were so polite and nice to me and to my wife and daughters. This included the framing, siding, roofing, gutter and paint crews. At one point a couple people from the office drove out (over 20 miles west) just to better show us how the selection of edge metal color would make a difference and we are so happy with our color selections we modified after that meeting. The bill was exactly as they estimated too. I highly recommend them.

Had a new roof installed and had issues with the sheeting buckling. Got ahold of my insurance company since it was a previous insurance job. They recommended I call First Call. Doug the owner and another gentleman came out to inspect it although it wasn’t their work. They determined the problem and handled the second claim with my insurance. Brandon the supervisor was assigned to my roof and couldn’t be happier about the process and end product. Brandon went out of his way and continues to stay in contact to make sure everything is to my satisfaction. Mike Baldwin with First Call was fantastic to work with on a water damage claim in our kitchen that forced us to pull out the cabinets, pull out the drywall, and pull up the floor to to get to the damage before First Call came in. Over several months, Mike stayed on top off all the different sub-contractors, materials ordering, and timeline as well as doing a great job communicating everything with us. First Call turned a very frustrating, and troubling situation into a greatly managed project, and we could not be happier with the work that was done.

My parents basement finished flooded for the first time and it was quite a mess. We were at a loss of next steps until someone recommended First Call.
