They came to see why the air conditioner was not working as we had a new Train system put in last summer. He told us the switch for the furnace was broken. He ran out, bought a new switch and replaced it and in an hour or 2, it was fixed for only $300 and change.

Derek was able to solve our upstairs AC system's problem quickly and got it working to restore our AC within less than an hour. Very personable and professional and definitely will be calling again if we have any other HVAC issues arise. Also very reasonably priced for the service call and fix. Highly recommend.

Fauquier Mechanical was easy to work with and prepared multiple quotes before we settled on a replacement dual fuel, heat pump/propane furnace configuration. Derek responded to my call within an hour, and the company came out the same day to assess the issue of the AC unit. They were able to do a quick fix so that my tenant would have AC that evening and they returned the following morning to do the repairs/cleaning of the unit. They were honest in the diagnosis of the issues and costs, and they were respectful of the property.

I left a message for Derek at 1am for an AC issue and he responded first thing that morning. 1 hour later, he had a technician at my house and diagnosed the problem. A part had to be ordered which I was told could take a few days. A few strings were pulled and Derek was at my house the next day (a Saturday) and had the AC fixed and running. Came home late on Sunday night and found that I had no AC. It was 94 degrees inside the house. After calling and reserving a hotel room I called Derek at Fauquier Mechanical and explained my problem. He said that he would be there ASAP the next morning and correct whatever he encountered. True to his word he came and fixed my AC the next morning. I highly recommend this company and its employees because I’ve been using them for several years and they have never disappointed me.

Excellent! I called these guys out to take a look at my AC after it suddenly stopped working. The tech showed up early, was very knowledgeable, and within 30 minutes had my AC up and running again. They only charged me for the initial diagnostic fee which they disclosed up front. I was fully expecting to be billed for labor and material beyond the initial diagnostic. I will be calling this company in the future if I need HVAC service.

I gave Derek a call when my A/C stopped working. First, he gave me some free advice on how to easily fix it myself. Unfortunately, the problem was more complicated, and he needed to take a look at it himself. He came out the next day and now my house is nice and cool. And he fixed my second zone. No clue how he did that but we're very grateful.

This company is truly outstanding! I requested a "second opinion" regarding my two aging (14 years old) HVAC systems and was 'blown away" how quickly I was scheduled for a complimentary review by a very skilled technician who provided detailed information regarding my two systems. His knowledge base was incredible and, after informing me that only one of the two systems actually required replacement (while providing detailed information supporting his recommendation), I received a very timely (within one day) proposal, via e-mail, describing two possible solutions for my first floor HVAC system. The proposal was very detailed and pricing very clear and competitive, including payment options. I chose Fauquier Mechanical for my HVAC replacement system and was very glad I did! Scheduling was easy. The installation crew was truly outstanding in all aspects of the job. The team was very friendly and courteous and, of course, thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the task ahead. All of my questions were answered. Installation proceeded smoothly and my first floor HVAC system was up and running in a very timely manner. I was given a briefing on how to manage my new system using the newly installed touch screen thermostat. Post-installation clean-up was excellent in so far as I could not tell that major work had just been completed in my basement. My new system is running well and is much quieter than the previous system. I am very pleased with Fauquier Mechanical and look forward to working with this company for many years to come. FYI, this company uses Carrier and Trane products. One can't go wrong with either brand. I choose Carrier since my previous 14 year old HVAC system was the same brand.

I had a HVAC unit replaced in a commercial building, including needing a crane to land the compressor on the roof. I had 3 bids and Fauquier Mechanical was the best price and fastest installation of the 3. I inspected the work and was satisfied with the quality. Very friendly to work with as well. I'm switching from a well-known and larger firm to Fauquier Mechanical for my properties based on the cost/quality/speed/customer service of this experience. Nice work!

I was able to make an appointment online with great ease. He showed up well within the time slot I picked. He evaluated the problem and fixed it quickly. He also rearranged the the drain line and instructed how I can fix it on my own if it happens in the future. I will call them in the future for my HVAC needs. Very fair in price.

Back in 2022, I discovered that almost all of my duct work was on the ground. Contacted several companies including Fauquier Mechanical. Derek came out and quoted a middle of the road price. Three weeks later, I had new duct work and vent covers. Fastforward to March 2025. Went to test my AC, no luck. Sent a message to the company. By 9:30 the next morning, received a call, had an appointment, and Brent showed up. Checked over the unit and found 3 issues. Was able to fix 2 of them and we were back in business. The 3rd issue was not pressing at the time and can wait until the fall. The fact that it has been almost 3 years since I contacted them for anything, and they remembered me is huge in my universe. I know that when it comes time to fix the last issue, I know who I am calling!

As far as I can tell, this company does fairly good work, but its internal processes are clearly broken and this becomes very visible to the customer. In my case, I had Fauquier Mechanical repair my central heating system after a power outage. The technician came out and did a good job isolating the problem and explaining what was required in terms of parts – namely a new power supply unit. He advised he would order the parts and get back with me which he did.

However, the downstream internal processes of the company are broken. First, I get an initial invoice that states the invoice is past due which is not the case. I was never given an initial invoice for payment. I went ahead and paid the invoice in full. Afterwards, I did get a phone call from the company apologizing for the delays, but no-one followed-up to schedule the actual work. The company cashed my check and sent me two notifications requesting a customer review for the service as though it was completed (which it was not).

This points to a very simple problem: The left hand (technicians) does not know what the right hand (bookkeeping, admin) is doing. The people within this company are out of sync with one another on service jobs and this creates unnecessary pain points for the customer. As a result, I would not recommend this company – people working within this company do not know how to communicate and coordinate work flows properly ensuring a good customer experience; something that I would think is extremely basic and fundamental to running any type of service-related business.

I called Fauquier Mechanical to get a second opinion on a problem with my heat pump / furnace not heating correctly. First company that check my unit stated I needed to replace entire heating system. Derrick came out checked the system and thermostat and diagnosed the problems quickly. Entire system was up and running great within an hour. Glad I had a friend that recommended Fauquier Mechanical and knew Derrick for years. They are truly knowledgeable and only want to help take care of your unit’s problems if possible first. Fauquier Mechanical is now my First Call, so I’ll never need a second opinion.

our furnace wasnt starting correctly. the company answered the phone quickly and had a tech out that morning. the tech resolved the issue but identified a part that needed replaced or the issue could repeat. the company ordered the part, called when it arrived and quickly had another technician replace it. i was very pleased with all interactions with the company.

I cannot recommend Fauquier Mechanical highly enough! Our AC went out, and our special needs child was having full on panic attacks from the heat. Fauquier Mechanical was so understanding, and had a tech at our house just over an hour later. The problem was quickly identified and fixed, and not in a, “that’s gonna be 1K doing unnecessary stuff kind of way” that other companies are notorious for - it was something fairly minor with a very reasonable price tag. The tech was kind, knowledgeable, and professional. We’re loyal customers from now on.

We had an emergency service to get our AC fixed they came out quickly and got us back working the next day. Derek was great to work with and we were so pleased we had them come back for a second job on the house. He quickly installed the electrical and worked with our gas line just like we needed. I will be using them for my future AC needs.

After 4 visits and hundreds of dollars later from my previous HVAC person, what I got was "I don't know sir, this has me stumped". Blower motor of my AC was making weird noises. Fauquier Mechanical came out to take a look. As suspected, the motor needed to be replaced. What was exceptional about them doing the work is that they checked to see if the motor was still under warranty, even though the installation was made nearly 10 years ago, and they themselves didn't do the installation of the AC. IAs it happened, the motor was still under warranty, and they took care of all the paperwork to get a new motor from the manufacturer (saving me a lot of money and time), and the overall cost for swapping out the motor was very reasonable.
They are my go to company for my AC needs. I highly recommend them!

The team at Fauquier Mechanical are professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. They really go the extra mile and are very timely in their response and service. Recently we had some issues with our system. Fauquier Mechanical found it to be a part issue. As they had installed the initial part they went out of their way to replace and remedy the situation at no expense to us. We highly recommend Fauquier Mechanical.

I hired Fauquier Mechanical to do the duct work on a building conversion moving some HVAC ducts, installing bathroom ducts, dryer duct and a range hood vent. They were responsive and on time. Their work exceeded my expectations on all counts with external end caps for the vents that are unobtrusive, neat workmanship, and effective solutions for each of my vent/duct requirements. I would certainly use them again and recommend them.
Updated Dec 2024: we hired Fauquier mechanical to move the vent to fit a new Microhood extractor. They came on schedule and did a great job not just moving the vent, but repairing the vent so that we now have full extraction when cooking.

As always, the folks from Fauquier Mechanical were great. Out to assess the problem quickly and performed the repairs within 24 hours. Our go-to team for all our HVAC requirements.

Derek Goff, owner of Fauquier Mechanical, performed a 6-month winter service on our HVAC system. He found a loose wire inside a panel of the main furnace unit which had triggered a default reading on the thermostat and shut down the system. After checking all connections, it was repaired by tightening the junction point. Simple procedure, problem solved! Derek is a consummate technician who knows our system and is easy to work with. We are lucky to have him!

Fauquier Mechanical installed a new HVAC system when my old one failed and we had difficulty finding parts. System was so old it was time for a new one. Derek and his team were great. They were able to order and install the new system quickly, so I was only without AC for a couple of days. The system is in the attic and everything went very smoothly. I highly recommend this company.
