Evan's is a great place. They are customer oriented but most of all they support our community in so many ways. The employees are your friends and will help you with anything.

Store looked great and it was exciting to see the Christmas decorations being merchandised. Crew was very engaged with all the customers.

Hometown store packed with a huge selection of in stock items. A wide variety of items applicable to the season. Unique layout and inventory options you will not find at most hardware stores. Always a delight to shop there with patient and accommodating staff.

We had the best service , Maverick waited on us and he was helpful. Found everything we needed and he loaded all our soil we baught. The cashier was sweet too. Thank you Cindy and Dustin

Chris T in the power equipment section is awesome. They didn't have the zero turn mower I wanted in stock. He got it ordered and delivered quickly and handled all the paperwork I needed. Great guy and customer focused.

Always good and attentive staff. It just sucks when they don't carry certain things (which is only often enough to be annoying) because it means a trip to Missoula instead.

Love this store! I always find materials for my projects! Sometimes prices are high on certain items but you pay for convenience, this is only 6 miles from my house so I don't have to drive to Missoula

Evans Ace Hardware is our go to place for so many things! The store has everything we need and as far as service it's like stepping back in time! Everyone is so very welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and thorough! We are so grateful to have the best hardware, paint, garden, kitchen, barbecue, RV supply, etc., store here in Hamilton!

I have been a loyal customer at this location for 30 years. I have always been pleased and satisfied, I have felt that Evans Ace Hardware employees are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable folks, never a bad experience. Until today. Browsing the bedding plants in the greenhouse, in a cheerful voice, just mentioned to the woman working there that prices seemed higher than in the past. The response was rude, clipped, short, and bordering on aggressive.“These prices are no higher than they’ve been for the last two or three years. They are no higher since I’ve been working here. “ OK then. I continue to browse, and after a minute or so, I responded that I’m not sure why she clapped back at me so rudely, I’ve been shopping here for decades, and I’m not sure what the problem was. She kept doing what she was doing and then said “oh, I guess I didn’t hear you, were you talking to me?” Yeah. I will continue to be a customer, but I will avoid your greenhouse like the plague. By the way, the interaction was witnessed by a second employee who seemed to be genuinely embarrassed by her co-worker’s attitude.

On two occasions I have tried to return items to Evans Ace hardware and had horrible experiences. On my most recent visit, I attempted to return a $9.00 weeding spade with a receipt. I bought it the day before and it broke during the first use. The friendly female cashier managed the return and suddenly a young man, I assumed her manager, accused me of stealing the item (or of purchasing another identical item and returning the broken one).
I had also been denied when trying to return a $250 Milwaukee saw with a defective trigger. In this case I had used the tool once and attempted return after one week in my possession.
My partner and I bought a house two years ago and have spent more than $3000 at Evans Ace for all our housing and landscaping needs. I also have receipts for those purchases, though I'm not sure what use I have for them since returns are met with so much friction.
We also own a local business in Hamilton and while we recognize that managing staff can be difficult, it would be great to see Ace put a little more effort into teaching their staff stronger and more positive customer service skills.

I have shopped here for 2 years while doing a remodeling project. I have spent thousands of dollars here. Recently, I had an experience that lost my loyalty to this store. I was given two cans of paint that were frozen. When I called to ask to return on the same day of purchase, I was told by the manager this is not their problem. When my husband went into the store, this same manager was talking about us to another co-worker. And had the balls to then say "speak of the devil" when he noticed my husband in the store. I have worked with the public my entire life, and could never imagine being this unprofessional.

This hardware store has the best staff who are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They have a wide variety of products from tools and plumbing to paint and garden supplies.

Evans is the ideal local hardware shop. The staff are always willing to help. The products are top notch and they are great with returns if the product doesn't end up working out. My only gripe is the nut and bolt stock. I usually find myself grabbing the last of something. They rarely have a box of the nut or bolt type behind their bulk section.

Love the service we get here at our home town ACE. We get asked several times if we are in need of help finding something. And they answer our questions and mix up paint with great service.

We shop Ace Hardware as they generally have everything we are looking for. Their workers are courteous and knowledgeable about their products and seem to enjoy their jobs. We shop here often and enjoy the atmosphere and the workers.

Stihl shop in ACE has excellent staff/techs. Went in to have my chainsaw tuned up and extra blade sharpened, They answered my question and had me in and out in less than 30 minutes.

I like this store, and usually get good service. I went in this morning to buy $400 worth of trimmer attachments and not one employee greeted/spoke to me. They were not busy. This is a major pet peeve of mine and I've stopped shopping places because of it. I left the store empty handed and unapproached. I'll give them another try in the future...hopefully this isn't a new trend.

Ace is the place for my DIY needs. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager Glen does a wonderful job running the store. I have relied on this site for many different types of projects including dremel bits for my wood carving, tung oil to finish my projects, screws, nuts, and bolts, paint for the undercarriage of my jeep to prevent rust, shower heads for the showers... and the list goes on. Things are easy to find and if you have difficulty losing something, the friendly staff is there to help. I'm basing my review on 6 years and dozens of projects that I purchased items for here. Thank you for being there!

I love this store. The staff are always great. I get a bit annoyed when I am looking for an item that i dont know where i might find it. The main floor will send me over to paint & garden and they will send me back to the main floor.

Pretty much anything you'll need around the house for repairs. Also, offer a large garden section and home remodeling section. Some lawn care equipment. And much much more.

7 months ago had a great experience in the store with staff and buying a weed whacker. Went to the paint area this past week, looking for 1 gallon of Schlack. Checked the website which stated it was in stock. When I got there, asked 3 people that were in the department and none even knew what Schlack was. Another person came over and stated they only had it in a quart can but could order a gallon for pick up later. A wasted trip to Hamilton and the employee suggested we check a store in Darby which also did not stock it - wasted time.
