Encore Custom Contracting

Tim & Encore have completed 3 projects at our home from 2011 - 2024. All have been done with excellent finish quality and with good communication throughout the process.

We moved to Ann Arbor earlier this year. Based on a strong family recommendation we hired Encore to deal with several issues in the new house. The initial projects involved a complete remodeling of our kitchen and a bathroom. As work progressed, we added a screened-in porch to the agenda. We also had several smaller jobs.

The kitchen remodel was just spectacular. We left behind a beautiful kitchen, and I was sure that nothing would match it. I was wrong. I can't praise the design and construction enough. Similarly, the bathroom redo is great. Exactly what we wanted. Finally, the porch project has turned an underused patio into a wonderful summer room. We have been living out there since it was completed,

Perhaps as important as the big projects is the overall care that Tim and his colleagues displayed in every piece of each project. The finishing work was first rate, and details that some would overlook were always attended to. We were always kept informed about progress and given ample opportunity to consider options.

Finally, I should note that Tim seems to be a master at ensuring his projects move ahead on schedule. When he tells you someone will be there to do something, you can be pretty sure that person will show up.

Probably Encore will not complete your job as quickly as some. That is because these folks take real pride in the work, and make sure it is done properly, rather than quickly.

My only hesitation in giving an unqualified recommendation for Encore is the fear that it will make it more difficult for me to get them back to work on that downstairs bathroom next year! Seriously, if you are in the market for a home contractor, you will not do better than Encore.

Hard to underscore how good our experience with Tim's crew was. They were incredibly organized, gave us calendar invites for each part of the remodel, asked us to actively write down the "middle-of-the-project" to-dos on a white board that they then used to keep track of things, and did everything on time. The quality of the work was outstanding and the innovation/creativity/skill of the crew was obvious from the outset, but even more obvious as we opened up the walls and floors and saw all the unexpected things that needed to be dealt with.
