DryHero Water & Mold

A leak in my upstairs neighbor’s apartment caused a patch of mold to form in my ceiling. My apartment complex’s maintenance team called Ritch at Dry Hero, and he came out the same day. He is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable person who made my fiancée and me feel much better about the status and safety of the situation.

After maintenance repaired the leak, we left everything alone for two days to allow it to fully dry out. On the morning of the second day, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Vince. He showed up on time, introduced himself, explained the process thoroughly, and worked for four hours straight.

At the end, he showed me the final result: excellent craftsmanship, and he left the bathroom cleaner than it was before he arrived. He cleaned the water leak marks off the mirror and vacuumed the entire space thoroughly. I couldn’t have been more thankful for the extra attention to detail in my home.

Afterward, we chatted for a few minutes, and then he was off to his next job.

All of this to say: I never write reviews, but the quality and friendliness of Dry Hero simply demanded it. Thank you again, Ritch and Vince—you turned a scary situation into a quick and easy fix.

I called with concerns of mold in our bathroom and he walked me through everything I needed to do free of charge. Even consulted my pictures and recommended a course of action without asking for money and agreed to come out for an inspection just for peace of mind. I would give zero stars if I could. I would not recommend DryHero to anyone. They could have come back and actually replaced the cabinetry they tore out in my water event. I asked the workers as they were there replacing my flooring. We got the run around, supplies aren't in yet for SO long. Ritch sent a letter giving a slight discount apologizing for how long it was taking stating still a few weeks out. Months later, he flipped a switch and said the discount was because he wasn't going to finish the job as written. After we had already submitted to insurance that he had. Over a year later I still don't have cabinetry replaced. We can't get the cabinet replaced for the amount that was discounted. We have used him previously and were impressed. We left a good review and we had referred people to him. Now we warn any and everyone to look in a different direction for mold or water damage restoration. Leaves a lot to be desired and a very poor taste in your mouth.

He was able to look behind the base boards in my basement in a way that didn't require him to pull the base boards off - most impressive. He looked everywhere including my attic. We have had an army of contractors from plumbing, HVAC, drywall, remediation, and so many more come through our home in the last month, all trying to solve our water and mold issues.

So many people have been working toward fixing a huge amount of problems and one of the biggest causes was a sweating HVAC system causing moisture and mold growth. Unfortunately, the only available solutions seemed to be expensive, not covered by insurance, and very time consuming. On top of that, seemingly new mold growth was preventing us from taking out drywall to fix the problem.

When Ritch came, not only did he diagnose the potential new mold spot as benign, but also gave us advice on how we could dry out the moisture problem at the HVAC system to stop my it from sweating, all without further work needing to be done.

This will save us a ton more work on our garage and help us finally get off the unending train of constant work on our house.

**3 Weeks Later Update!**

We've been running the size dehumidifier Ritch recommended for 3 weeks straight now and our problem is taken care of! The condensation from the HVAC equipment went away for the most part at the 10 day mark but wanted to let it run it's course, and it fantastic now!

Highly recommend. Writing this because we're NOT customers. Read on to see why we're giving him 5 stars: Ritch came to take a look at some water that had seeped into our basement during the 6-inch rain. He looked at the carpet we'd lifted and the carpet pad we'd torn out and told us we'd already done what they would do and the only difference his company could bring to the table was larger equipment to do the job faster. Since we don't need to get the space put back together quickly, he suggested we just add some fans and continue doing what we were doing. He stayed 40 minutes past the time he'd determined we weren't going to be customers to check moisture levels in our walls and give us some insight into where the water entered and share some ideas for bolstering our soil around the foundation. Hoping we don't need any help with water clean up again but if we do, we are definitely calling Ritch.

I had a great experience with DryHero. I recently made an offer on a house and asked Ritch to do a mold inspection. Even though he was in the midst of a very busy time, he worked it into his schedule very quickly. He also made time to talk me through what he had found in addition to the report he prepared. Due in large part to his inspection, I was able to back out of that situation without any delay and avoided getting into a house I would surely have regretted. Ritch did an absolutely outstanding job for us back in 2010 with water that encroached into our finished basement. He was immediately available, knowledgeable, reassuring, efficient, and 100% effective. He then handled everything we needed for insurance submission. Over the years I’ve referred several friends who were equally satisfied with his exceptional service. Recently, my daughter in west Omaha discovered water damage from a faulty furnace humidifier connection on a Friday noon. Of course I contacted Ritch. Dry Hero doesn’t serve Omaha, but Ritch has a heart for people in trouble. He figured out a way to rearrange schedules and was about to send his guys up and head up himself—remember, it’s Friday afternoon. It turned out that they didn’t have to go because at that point we heard from the furnace company responsible for the leak, who sent their Omaha contact over. The point is that they would have gone! Exceptional service with integrity and compassion. You can’t ask for more!
