Te guys got up there on my roof and did the job perfectly. Had I not seem them on camera, I would not have known they were even there. Everything was done perfectly and any mess was cleaned up. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and works with the highest level of integrity. The office staff did a great job of communicating. Quote was fair and service was extremely fast. Only negative was the lack of communication on the date the service was to begin so we were not prepared to coming home to roofers on the house.

The communication from Tim and Jan was amazing. Our insurance refused to cover the wind damage, so Jan was helping us work with the agent and adjuster to resolve the issue. I think I talked to Jan more during the process than my wife. The old roof was torn off and the new one installed in less than a day and it looks great. They did a wonderful job of cleaning up the debris from the old roof.

Good work by crew that worked incredibly hard. I appreciated the advice I received when the estimate was prepared, especially the recommendation to use a better type of shingle. My insurance company approved a discount on my home policy after I submitted documents showing what had been accomplished with a premium shingle. Two of my neighbors asked for the company’s business cards after they looked at my roof.

Very easy to work with! Were quick and communicated the whole time. Jan was super nice and helpful. Tim was nice and considerate of equipment in the driveway. The team did super good job on clean up. Never found a piece of debris once they left.

Tim and Jan with DMAR made this process seamless. They not only cared about my preferences to get the job done right but they went above and beyond thinking about working to take care of our home. All I can say is if you have any preferences, they are always willing to hear you out, think about things you may not think about and do their best to meet every request. I would recommend DMAR every time.

I had a good feeling about the company based on reviews but noticed that the installers were not putting she shingles on according to the directions on the package (which is very clear) after looking at the roof and noticing that it looked bad. I called Tim right away and basically he said that is how he's always done it and does not plan on changing, even though the type of shingle we got states clearly IN RED LETTERS warning to install in a certain pattern. Tim was very difficult to talk to after that, he was proud of his faulty install. Note that neither he nor the project manager was there majority of the time. Communicating with his crew was very difficult. Tim has since made harassing phone calls and threats. Go somewhere else for your roofing needs!! You shouldn't have to but make sure they are installing the shingles correctly, its on every package.

Love my new roof! I needed a new roof for many years. I finally decided to go through with it and couldn’t have found a better business to work with. My neighbors all live it as well.

The new roof this company placed on our home is first class! We were impressed by the quality of work and the diligence of the fine group of men who completed the job, efficiently and professionally.
Lead man on site, Roberto, saw to it that every detail and concern specific to our roof replacement was addressed and handled. Additionally, the end of project clean up was perfect; their many tarps completely surrounded our home, protecting our bedding plants and gardens, and what little fell outside the tarps was raked, collected and taken away.

We had damage on 4 properties in April 2023. Heartland handled all of the repairs needed on each property; roofing, gutter and downspouts, siding, and custom window trim. On our residence they even came back and touched up a few places that I wanted fixed and did'nt charge any extra. I recommend Heartland for all your home roofing, gutter work, siding and trim needs. Jake, Jose and their crews do great work.

I now understand why they are ranked #1 for top rated reviews, their service is excellent! They did a great job with our roof but not only that, they really do take care of their customers. They did all the work in one day, they started when they said they would, the team installing the roof did a great job of cleaning everything when they were done and next morning someone else came to make sure we were happy with our roof and he spent quite of bit of time inspecting the work that was done and making sure everything had been cleaned to their standards. They even helped us with choosing the color, they worked directly with our insurance company and submitted the certificate of completion right away so less than a week after the work was done, we received the supplement from the insurance company. I honestly cannot recommend them enough.

Des Moines Area Roofing replaced our roof this spring. Everything about the experience was top notch. The customer service was excellent. The new roof looks great. The cleanup was impeccable. And, they did it in one day!

This was as great of an experience as getting a new roof can be. We worked with Tim, Jan, and Brandon on getting the right shingles for our roof and any repairs that might need made. All were great to work with and Brandon was the foreman on our job. He worked with our timeline and actually was able to do it a day early to avoid the incoming rain forecast. The crew showed up that morning and finished before the day was done. You couldnt even tell they were there when they left as they placed large tarps over all of our landscaping. Brandon always comes back around the next day to look for any nails or shingles missed on the ground, and he only found 3. You can't go wrong with this crew and I'd easily recommend
them for your roof.

Des Moines Area Roofing from Dallas Center, IA, did a complete removal and replacement of our hail damaged shingles and under-layment on our home in Grimes. The bid was right-on target and their crew completed all the work in one day. The crew took special care in the clean-up process so there was no evidence of their work other than a new roof. Tim, Jan and the work crew were professional in every aspect of the job plus they gave us a Military Veteran's discount. I could not have found a better contractor.

Tim and the entire crew were very professional and took their task very seriously. Office Manager Jan communicated very well regarding the scheduling and the process. The crew did a great job including cleaning up. There was a lot of heat and humidity, but they persevered and kept going. My job was completed in August of 2021. If you want to work with a roofing company that aims to do things the right way then give Des Moines Area Roofing a call.

I would have given 5 stars, but estimator missed that the roofs had 2 layers to tear off rather than only 1, so it cost us more than estimated to cover the extra labor. Good company to work with.

While most roofing companies are price competitive with each other, our experience with Des Moines Area Roofing yielded a professional, hard working crew that showed up when promised and was receptive to any special issues that came up during our re-roof. Tim explained that because of a chance of rain, the crew would only rip off what they could safely re-shingle prior to any forecast rain.
Their clean-up was extremely thorough; we've found only a couple nails.
Bottom line: our neighbor contracted with them after watching them re-roof out house and after receiving a couple other bids.

Tim came out to give me a quote in 2020. He was informative and pleasant to deal with. We didn't have the money saved up until about 10 months later.

So... Now, we've hired them. The crew showed up bright and early around 7:00am and got to work. The tear-off stage was quick, clean, and painless. I went out to peek periodically, and the crew was hard at it every time. Tim (the owner), called multiple times to check. He didn't make it out in person, but for us the calls were plenty and appreciated.

They wrapped up around 5:00pm. That included the clean up, which included multiple rounds of blowing off our deck, sidewalk, etc. as well as running magnets over the entire area at least twice.

When we went onto our deck later, we did notice some shingles were a little "cupped". My wife texted Tim and he responded to explain why both at night and early the next morning. Long story, short; this is normal and they will flatten out once we get a little heat. So, all in all, we would definitely give Tim a call if we ever need roof work again.

May 2025 see original review from 2020 nothing has changed. When our rental property needed a new roof we called DesMoines Roofing for a quote. Like our original experience the quote came in a little less than others but this time we knew the kind of work the team did in 2020 so we immediately hired Tim and his crew. They started the following week. Removing two layers shingles and replacing all new on both the house and detached garage within the same day. I don’t know where you will find a better roofing company.

August 2020. After the Derecho, Tim responded quickly to our request for a quote after claims adjuster confirmed a new roof was in order. During initial assessment for quote, his crew even secured the tarp my husband had quickly placed on roof to limit damages. The crew was able to start 7-10 days from our decision to hire them. They worked dusk to dawn only stopping for couple hours for lunch and cool down on one of the hottest days of year with heat index over 100. They arrived early the second day and finished by noon. Tim came by within an hour of the job being complete to inspect the work and ensure everything was cleaned up to his satisfaction. I have already referred this company to friends and neighbors.

It was a large job on a steep roof. They started tear off in the morning and finished the job next evening with clean-up and the new roof installed.
