Similar to others, we had a poor experience with Davenport. They quoted the job and saw the height of our crawlspace, but once they got onsite to do the job they said the crawlspace was too small. They also forgot to insulate several interior walls that we included in the quote.

Davenport insulation will do a terrible job, not finish and charge you full price. You can send pictures and proof they did not finish the job and they'll still send your final bill to a collection agency. I have sent them tens of thousands of dollars in work over the years and they still have not finished a job I paid for in full over a year ago.

Levi was awesome to work with. I resently bought my home and had several people quote me prices for crawlspace insulation. Levi assured me I didn't need anything. He explained in detail why. Other's quoted thousands. Thank you for being honest.

We had Davenport insulation in Winchester install new gutters on our new porch addition over 3 months ago, and they were also supposed to fix an existing gutter in the back of the house. Mistakenly, we promptly paid them before we had any rain. When it rained the first time and every rain since, the water pours behind the gutters right into the new window, and the back gutter continues to drip constantly. I have repeatedly called and texted Mike Emerson and Levi, and have also sent them pictures of the waterfall gushing behind the new gutters and they have yet to fix the issues. Maybe when I start requesting a refund for a poorly done job, and send them a receipt for my new window that’s going to get ruined with water pouring in it they will finally come out and fix the problems.

I had two jobs scheduled with Davenport Insulation. The first was to get insulation blown into my uninsulated garage walls. Two men and a truck showed up to do the work. They were polite and fine, but kept telling me how it was a new truck and that they had to keep turning the pressure down. One of them was frequently on the inside of my garage pushing against the drywall. Not having this done before I didn't know if this was standard procedure. After they left I discovered that about 40% of my dry wall was blown off the studs. I have had to go back and screw the drywall back in place.
My salesman, a guy named Mark, quoted me a price on seamless gutters. We scheduled a date. I called the day before to confirm I was on the schedule. He said I was. The next day no one showed. I called the office and they said I was never on the schedule. I tried to contact Mark several more times to no avail and was then told he had been replaced by Levi. I have been told 4 times by both office staff, a supervisor, and Levi, different dates where my work would be done. They have no showed on every single one. I started this process in February, it is now August and I still don't have gutters.

Amendment to my review written on 24Aug2018: Even though I had asked to speak to a supervisor on my last contact with Davenport Insulation in Winchester, I was never contacted by them until I wrote this review. Mike E. contacted me within a week of this review being posted and I now have gutters. He assured me that this was an oversight brought on by my salesperson leaving and that this is not how they normally treat their customers. While that doesn't explain all the previous contacts I had, I will take them at their word. Gutters are installed.

We recently purchase all glass shower doors from TruTeam. We had some issues at first but Joe and Patty went above and beyond to make us happy. At the end of the day we were delighted.

Had 6" of insulation blown into attic. The quoted price seemed reasonable. Very pleased with the courtesy of the workers, not to mention they spoke fluent English and played country music during their work. They cleaned up afterwards and ensured I was a satisfied customer before leaving. Highly recommend Davenport Insulation, Winchester, VA.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
