Would not recommend. My family and I arrived around 8pm and went to the room that we were assigned, walked up to the door and noticed that the door was being held ajar with the door lock rod, weird but didn't think much of it. Upon entering the room we first noticed the smell, not terrible but seemed like a combination of stale air, some kind of smoke, pool chemicals, and cleaning solutions. We checked the beds and noticed lipstick stains and a large clump of hair in the sheets. This left us questioning if the room had actually been cleaned at all before we arrived. My wife went to the front desk to ask to be moved to a new room as we were not comfortable with the state in which we found the room. To the hotel's credit they had no issue moving us to a new room. However, while waiting in the room to hear back from my wife I heard the door to our room open (the door was closed and locked at this point), and in walks one of the cleaning staff. She walked in without knocking or anything, notices me and just says "Oh sorry, I forgot my phone" and leans down and grabs her phone that was sitting on the shelf under the vanity and walks out, later we notice that that same staff memeber was not wearing any shoes. We move to the new room after this, which did not smell as bad, however, over the next hour we started to notice more even more issues with this room then the one before. There was trash under the entertainment center, a wet/recent coffie puddle on the vanity, that had dripped down onto one of the towels below, there were smilely faces drawn on the lamp shade in red sharpie, the wifi was terrible to the point that we couldn't stream anything, and the shower curtain rod in the bathroom was broken so that it wouldn't stay in place, resulting in the shower curtain sliding to the center, because of this the back of the bathroom door was peeling and shipped about a foot from the bottom. My daughter took a shower and while toweling her off a long black hair was stuck to her, which did not come from any of us. For all these reasons we did not feel comfortable staying in that room or the hotel any longer. We decided that we would ask for a refund and try to find accommodations elsewhere, but that is when the problems just continued. I went to the front desk to describe the issues we had in and to request a refund, the front desk was not disrespectful or anything, but also not apologetic. They told me that in order to get a refund I would have to call the choice hotel help line as "They would not be able to process the refund of their end as the system would not allow them to do so since I booked online". (I did book online, but directly through choice hotel's website). I said that was fine and returned to my room to make the call. I got was able to get ahold of the choice hotel representative and explaind our whole experience to them only to be told that they were not able to process a refund either because refunds and billing is handled by each individual location. Ok, so I hung up and returned to the front desk, explaining what the Choice hotel representative had told me, the front desk hand me wait about 5 minutes while they clicked around on the computer and then told be again that they could not process a refund on their end and it would have to be done through the Choice Hotel customer service line. Not knowing what to do I returned to my room and called the service line again, explained the whole situation over again, was put on hold, the line disconnected, called back, got yet another different representative, explained the situation again including all the back and forth I had been doing. Finally, the representative offered to call the front desk for me and explain to them that they are the ones that can process the refund, not them, which they did. When the representative got back to me he said that the front desk was still adamant that they were unable to process a refund. We decieded to leave and return home. I called back the next day and the manager was able to process the refund within 5 minutes...

The location was good, breakfast was good. The rooms were fair, beds were like sleeping on a board. They only give you fresh towels every 3 days. I had to bring my dirty towels to the front desk to exchange for clean. It was suggested I bring my own towels. The toilet was made for a toddler, extremely low and uncomfortable
I will never stay there again.

I stayed during a time when there was a shortage of staff. There were three staff members there doing nearly every job, Nissan and Marissa and I didn't catch the third girl's name but they were holding it together well under pressure. There was chaos don't get me wrong but these three stood in the gap and did everything they could to meet the needs of the travelers. I'm not sure why they were short-staffed but I know it wasn't their fault and I commend them for working as hard as they did double shifts I saw them there all day the first day and I saw them there first thing in the morning the next day as if they never even went home. Just wanted to take a minute to say even in a stay that wasn't the greatest that it most definitely was not the staff members that caused the issues

Don’t stay here, rooms not clean, place smells of smoke, no housekeeping staff, no towels until the front desk girl could fold towels ac unit very loud, can’t give me another room as they were waiting on 6 other people to check in and they reserved rooms. I am already here and they could refund me at 10pm at night with other hotels booked. If I could give this dump negative stars I would.

Disappointed in the cleanliness of this hotel. Smoking allowed right outside the door, which made the lobby smell like cigarette smoke.
Our bath tub had several area of black mold. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk staff she stated she had a product to clean the tub but just needed to get in there.
Our room smelled musty and not fresh or clean.

We stayed for 1 night on 7/12/25, our room smelled like marijuana and the next day I noticed dried vomit on the curtain. For how expensive this room was for a Saturday night, the room should be cleaner than what it was. I understand it isn't the hotels fault that it smelled like marijuana.

Left an item at the hotel and called to see if they could ship it. The lady I spoke to told me yes and took all my information. I told her to call me if she needed my card to pay for shipping and never got a call. I called back a few days later and spoke to a manager she did the same exact thing took all my information again and I said when this happened last time no one ever called me. She then proceeded to say “well I’m the manager so I’ll call you.” Guess what still no call days later. If I was just told it wasn’t possible I would’ve drove back there to retrieve my items. I tried finding there policy to see how long they hold items and couldn’t find it. So I might just drive there at this point.

After checking in, got to the room and found blood on the bathroom door. Very nice lady at the front desk said that she would take care of it. She did apologize and said she was the one that cleaned that room, which made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room if that was clearly on the bathroom door. The bathrooms were dingy and in need of updating the toilet was definitely for someone in preschool or kindergarten it was very low to the ground, not a standard size toilet. The room smelled like cigarettes and mildew, and the evening staff and morning staff were not friendly at all! For the amount of money you have to pay for a room this was terrible!

The stay was horrible first I was given a room that had not been cleaned and already brought stuff up 2 flights of stairs than had to go back to desk/kiosk. The smell in the room was awful musty mildew smell, so must have had water issues at some time for it to smell that bad. I have pictures of black mold in the bathroom tub and something that was spilled all over the drapes (absolutely disgusting) the bathroom floor and door was filthy, and the toilet seat was barely on. We showered with our shoes on it was so gross. The mirror by the sink was cracked. the door to the bathroom was peeling. The drain in the shower didn't work it was closed all of the time, I actually propped a bar of soap under it just to keep it open and the water to drain and I had asked several times for it to be looked since we were there for 2 nights but they kept saying someone would be down, I have all of that on a text. I asked for towels and in 2 days in a text and they were sending them down but never came so went to the desk twice and all they could say is they were still drying so they dried for days. The pool was very cloudy you couldn't see the bottom we would not swim in it and was looking forward to it funny thing no one was swimming in it any of the days we were there. Ice machine was broke on 1st so went up to 2nd and it was out of ice.The outside door did not close so anyone could walk in. And the crew you have working the manager is less than pleasant very much rude. The positive review is the breakfast crew was so very please and food was well stocked and good.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Port Clinton, OH SHAME on you! We booked and paid for 2 rooms on July 4th, confirmed on july 3rd and provided a credit card we told them that were checking in late! When we arrived one of your rooms was given away. Leaving my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) stranded late at night. We had to sleep in our car! We have family that live in town and use local hotels often. We will not be using this hotel again!

The room was clean and very basic. There were laundry facilities on site and it's not to far from anything you might want to do on Lake Erie. However, the beds were extremely hard, the hallways were rough with stained and ripped carpets. The staff were often outside smoking weed and the hot breakfast food was undercooked. We would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

Reserved 2 rooms for a fishing trip. Had to pay in full to reserve the rooms. I was told that the hotel would refund the second room and charge the second party for their room. They charged the other party for the room and never refunded me for that second room. Now they will not even answer the phone at the hotel. 4th try and they hung up on me!

Checked in and immediately checked back out. I found mold in the bathroom of our first room. I spoke with the manager to ask about transferring to a different room. Her solution was to try to wipe it up. She eventually moved us to a second room. This second room also had mold in the bathroom. The manager was very short with me and upset that we were leaving.

Was here for 2 nights on a bus tour. It was just OK. Upon arrival, I found the floor of bathtub soiled and the window unit’s Constant Fan mode did not work. The next morning as I closed the shower curtain I discovered a soiled washcloth had been left behind by a previous guest (& housekeeping).

We stayed here for one night after spending a long day at Cedar Point. It was a very clean and comfortable room. The bed was also very comfortable. I slept so well! We really enjoyed the provided breakfast. Thank you to the staff.

AWFUL!!!!! When we checked in there was BLOOD ON THE HEADBOARD, popcorn and candy on the floor, soap caked onto the countertops….and when I asked to be moved to another room the front desk said I would have to wait. Ok fine, can you get someone to come clean it???? She told me no one would be available to clean until after 11am. Absolutely disgusting. When we got back to our “clean” room the food was still all over the floor. The front desk told Expedia that there was no way the manager would issue a refund to switch. This is how these companies screw you. Now, we’re stuck with a bloody, disgusting run down hotel. I’m including pictures of the bloody headboard, dirty floors, disgusting hallway and the breakfast they put on display which was a JOKE! The hallways stayed littered with trash the entire time, and it wasn’t new trash, it was old like they never clean the hallways. Any time I walked downstairs I would hear the front desk talking LOUDLY about the other guests and how they had an attitude. (I wonder why) Maybe the attitude comes from being stuck in a blood soaked filthy disgusting hotel room. She was either talking about other guests very loudly or talking about her personal life loud enough for everyone to hear. Never again! Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere.

Rooms were spacious, clean, no bugs. Breakfast was hot and delicious. Stayed 2 nights with 2 different breakfast served each morning, bacon, eggs, potatoes then sausage gravy and biscuits with eggs fresh with nice variety of fruits and cheeses and breads and pastries. Cereals, juices, waffles, always stocked with milk for the children, kept cleaned up for guests throughout the whole breakfast service. Considering how busy they got, the breakfast attendants were excellent and dedicated to their work. When we arrived on a Thursday night, fresh warm cookies were ready for each of my kids. That was a first and a delightful treat. We got there a few hours after check in with no problem. The pool!!!! Oh my goodness how nice and warm and inviting! Even my toughest kid who gives every excuse not to swim, decided to join in and had the best time in a long time. Quiet, tv worked. Ac was cool and quiet enough. Beds were comfortable both nights.

Only cons, phone cord was broke, but we never use it or need it because of cell phones. We unplug it so my toddler doesn’t call anyone accidentally, but it was broke before we got there..
kinda slow drain in the sink, and had to hold handle down on toilet to flush completely.. all very minor issues that affected our travel nor comfort in any way. Overall highly recommended and will likely stay again

I want to start by letting people know that when booking a room you need to choose “free cancellation” when using the filter. I have booked many rooms in my life & have never had to choose “free cancellation.” We had to cancel & all we were reimbursed was the tax. We had to “eat” (waste) $200. Not sure if I would recommend this hotel or not. It would also be nice if the customer service (on the phone) spoke English

I had a terrible experience at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Port Clinton, OH. The room was dirty and outdated, the pool was filthy, and there was no working internet during my stay. When I brought up these issues, Manager Shelby was rude and dismissive, offering no real help or apology. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, connected, or professionally managed stay.

I gave bad review on automated system and since then she is denying our claims from Expedia.

I wish there was Zero or Negative option.

The ladies at the front desk were both amazing, day & night shift. Stayed 3 nights, rented two rooms. We really enjoyed the pool & the rooms. Full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, & lotions. Free breakfast was delicious would stay here again! (Also the price was much lower than most & still had great quality!!)

I made a reservation for this property several months before the stay. I’m a Choice Privileges Rewards member so I know I should have received a reminder of my upcoming stay. I did not! And that cost me. I had previewed the hotel before my intended stay. The rooms are small. Many areas look warn (especially the carpets) and in need of renovation - but the price was right for a place to “crash” at the end of the day. Most of all, it’s the manager you should be concerned about should you need to handle any issues that may occur during your stay. (I’m not the only one who has encountered this.) Don’t expect her to care.||This hotel sits across from a Sleep Inn and very close to a soon-to-be opened Hampton Inn. You have other choices. My warning would be to avoid this property and stay at another. I’m looking forward to the new Hampton Inn.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The property needs some serious help. So many little things just needed attention. I blame that in the corporate office. They are neglecting this location and not wanting to put the money into fixing routine maintenance. Pool was very warm. Almost hot tub warm. I did like that aspect of it.

The pool was a little cloudy and light green, the area could be swept a little better, a lot of dead flies, but understandable because it probably isn't used a lot in the cold weather, the plus side, it was warm. Not to bad to not want to swim in it. The staff is awesome, Melanie who worked the desk is amazing, she moved the vending machine to plug it in for me and my little one. She didn't have to buy showed amazing customer service. We appreciate you so much!
Hopefully the pool gets cleared up because would love to come back one day.

Excited for the breakfast, heard it was amazing

If I could give ZERO stars or NEGATIVE stars, this is what the property deserves. This was a 3-night stay and I will NEVER stay at this property again! I've stayed here multiple times per year over the past 5-years for a sports event. Apparently, the property is now a marijuana smoke house or trashy, drug using party place. DO NOT STAY HERE. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE!!
Upon check-in, I entered our assigned room and choked on cigarette smoke in the "clean" room. My wife stood in the hallway and did not even enter and asked if the smell was from our room. She took one step in and gagged and we returned to the front desk to let them know we couldn't stay in a smoking room. The entire property is supposed to be NON-SMOKING. They re-assigned us to a room on the 2nd floor. That room was clean, however, as we walked down the hallway, the hall reeked of marijuana smoke. We called the front desk and let them know of the pot smell. They said they would take care of it. Over the next 2 nights, we slept basically zero minutes as we had headaches from the pot smell coming into our room. On the 3rd night (Saturday) we called and again they said they would take care of it, but nothing. We went down and spoke with Melanie as did other guests that were furious. It was 9:45pm and we told them Room 220 was the room smoking. They were also yelling "It's time to party!". Melanie said she called her boss, but did nothing. We left early because we couldn't get sleep.

I was not a fan of having to use the kiosk as it was a pain. It took a long time and our key still didn't work. I hope they get rid of it and stick to checking in with a person.

The lady at the front desk ended up getting us room keys and was very friendly. I didn't want to lower my rating because the staff present were amazing. However the staff member on the kiosk was not.

The pool was not heated the first day we were here but they had someone come out the next day and it was fixed.

The breakfast has both hot and cold food options. Waffles, biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, muffins, bagels, cereal, etc. Also had drink options.

The rooms were good for the price. The bathrub/shower is a bit dated but usable.

The place was very well maintained clean and well kept the staff was all very friendly what's all problems in anything that was asked the rooms are very clean and the pool is phenomenal it's almost like jumping into a giant bathtub that was pretty cool the manager Shelby is a very down-to-earth and understanding person the breakfast was amazing for being a hotel it really made you feel like being at home I definitely will be coming back

It wasn't easy to find the entrance that's my only location complaint.
We arrived at 8pm and I was recovering from surgery and had to rest because of alot of pain. The lady working the front desk. I was told her name was melody. Was super sweet gave us a room close to the entrance and made sure our room was ready to go. Breakfast was good as well. Im glad we stopped here.

I would like to give a 5 star review as our room was clean, BUT breaking my toe on the corner of the metal bed base kinda ruined it for me. I did not realize it was broke until later in the day when it swelled twice it's size and turned blue, so did not unfortunately make an accident claim. I care about others getting hurt, and THIS needs fixed. My husband hit his toe too!

When checking in, the front desk person hardly said 2 words.

We checked in today and I’m a little disappointed I will give credit and say the staff is nice from us being here so far but from the hotel room their is a smell at my house I had some water damage and that’s exactly what it smells like I’m sad about bc it’s not like we paid dirt cheap for this hotel I’ve paid less staying at the Hampton and the rooms was really nice stains on the wall lamp shade I think from what they charge they should update the room bc it’s not worth the price I’ve booked 4-5 hotels through the app normally it’s good but idk how this one made it under the radar bc I go off reviews and images and reading them so I’m a little disappointed I’m just tired and wish atleast the mold or water damage smell wasn’t in the room may just spray some perfume

We booked this hotel as a part of a wedding block for September 20-22. Upon arrival to the hotel there were about 20 people in the lobby with no employee present. Then an African American woman appeared at the front desk saying that there were no rooms available even though we had a reservation. Don’t book here unless you’re okay with sleeping in your car.

Our first night we mentioned to the front desk that the freezer was defrosting and I had a towel in the fridge to help save the carpet. No action was taken. When we got back from dinner, the ice had melted enough to where I could remove it myself. I saved the carpet. Not a good start.

Before you book please consider this- there is train tracks nearby so all night you hear train horns! We had no idea until the first night of our stay that we ended up getting no sleep because of the trains. Secondly, the room felt very humid. There was a complete difference in air from the hallways to opening the room door and that is even after having the room set to 65 degrees ( which it never actually got that cold. The rooms are also very small. There was barely any room to set up our pack and play for our baby ro sleep in. Next, the pool is so heavily chlorinated that just walking in that room makes your eyes start burning from the chlorine in the air. Our whole stay we never saw anyone actually use the pool.

The stay wasn't all terrible though. We never had any problems with staff like some of the comments and our room looked clean when we got there. Breakfast was okay. There were a good selection of prepackaged items that i was able to grab for my kids to make sure they didn't miss the breakfast hours.I just highly recommend bringing some sort of sound machine or fan to overpower the sound of trains so that way you might actually get some sleep

We booked our room as part of a room block for a wedding. When we showed up at 3 (check in time) there was no staff in the lobby. There were, however, ~30 guests, all waiting for rooms as none were clean or available.

We ended up having to stay somewhere else, as after waiting for 20 minutes no staff ever showed up to assist us.

Thankfully after several discussions with employees and no response from management, I was able to get a refund.

Do not recommend staying here.

We called after booking to speak with the staff in regard to our check in; we are coming into town for a wedding and if possible would like access to our room at the expected check in time (3pm) or earlier if they allow. I was told that they haven't been getting people in their rooms until at least 4pm which is the same time as the wedding. I asked if we would be better off looking at other hotel options in the area to accommodate our time need and was told “Psht. Yeah you should” I plan on calling tomorrow to speak with a manager, but don’t expect much better service or a more pleasant attitude given the reviews.

My wife and I stayed here in August, 2024. I found staff to be very engaging, especially the General Manager, Anna, who was working from morning until late at night. I appreciated her enthusiasm and the diligence of staff attempting to keep the property in the best shape possible with what seemed to be limited staffing. The property needs a complete renovation inside with more attention to the outside landscape. But the value was good, the room was clean, and the breakfast was passable. I will likely stay here again.

When looking at the reviews and pictures on line, we chose this hotel because everything looked immaculate. Location to everything Port Clinton and Put n Bay is within 5 min. Perfect and easy!! My only complaint about the hotel is it needs a makeover. Breakfast was amazing!! Biscuits and gravy sausage eggs fruit bagels juice!! Everything you need!! The last part of my review is the best part!! Portia!! Like the car! the young lady at the front desk!! She was absolutely amazing! A beautiful person!! She helped us so much and guided us through all of our adventures in port Clinton!! She even took the time to have conversations, which is almost nonexistent these days!! I hope she goes far in this company as she is a great asset!! Thank you Portia!! Room 114 the Loughrie family!!

This was, without a doubt, the worst travel experience I've ever had. We arrived at 7:30 PM and were quoted an hour wait until we could get into our room as they were still actively cleaning rooms. We finally got into our room 1.5 hours later! We checked out the pool and it was murky/cloudy and had debris and bugs floating in it, even after one fellow guest told me she had already skimmed it. Yes, you did read that right, guests had to clean the pool prior to use!!! When we finally got in our room, it was the most moldy/mildewy room I've ever been in. Finally, as I was laying my toddler down and he was ALMOST asleep (quite a feat in a hotel room), a male hotel employee BURST into our room without warning, startling my toddler and myself. At this point, it took him another 45 minutes to fall asleep. We travel quite a lot for a small family and will not be returning to this hotel due to the horrible experience with poor resolution from Choice Hotels.

Positive: "" Negative: The bathroom had mold all over. The room was advertised as 2 Queen beds - it was 2 Doubles. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The room also smelled like mildew. I would not recommend this hotel. It should not be listed as a 3 star hotel.

I had attempted several times to speak with someone regarding an early check in for our trip from Florida to Port Clinton Friday July 19. We were going
to Port Clinton for a funeral and we would have arrived early Friday morning between 5am & 6am. I spoke to several desk clerks who repeatedly told me they would have the manager get back to me. No manager ever called me back. The funeral was that Friday morning at 10am and sadly we missed it. When I arrived at the hotel for check in, the manager came out and I asked her if there is anything they could do for our inconvenience. She stated "Yes", a 20% discount. They had me pay the full price which I paid in cash, $553.65. She told me she needed to reach her manager to figure out how to do the refund of the 20%. I got with her the next day (Saturday) and she stated she was working on it, That she would get back with me. Well, the phone in our room didn't work. We were checking out Sunday morning to head back to Florida, When I got to the desk at 830am to check out, The male desk clerk advised that the manager wasn't in yet and that he didn't expect her until around 12pm (Noon). I was told the night before by the female desk clerk that she would be in around 8am Sunday. She wasn't there, When I asked for a receipt, the desk clerk said there was a balance owed on our room of 1 day ($276.82). I told him he's in correct. I had paid the 2 nights in cash ($553.65) at check in per the manager. I asked him if he's sure it wasn't my refund he's seeing. he said he didn't know what to do. When I looked at the receipt, it showed $553.65 Paid in cash, then there was a correction listed of ($553.65) showing they refunded it. Then it showed 1 night charge of ($276.82). Where was the rest of my $553.65 they took from me in cash ? Very shady practices at this location. I asked for the manager to call me and until this day, NO CALL, & NO REFUND ISSUED. I'm a Choice Loyalty member and very disappointed with this location. They stole from me and lied to me over and over again. They told me what I wanted to hear. Very disappointed. I did make a formal complaint with Cboice Hotels International and recieved a case #. Waiting to hear back from them regarding this.

Rooms were exceptional for the price - big, clean and well appointed. Daily breakfast was great with waffles, eggs, sausage and all of the usuals. Location good with quick access to the highway and ample parking.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME LOOKING AT BOOKING A STAY HERE....i Would rate this with negative stars if possible.....

I had a party of 30 family members for our parents celebration of life event. We showed up to check in and none of our rooms, we blocked over six months ago were available. All we were told none of our rooms were cleaned. We came back at 7:00pm and still none of our rooms were available. The staff had no place for us to stay. Nor would they allow us to eat our pizza that we purchased for dinner on the breakfast area.

I would hope that this hotel treats their customers better. We left and were able to stay at the Holiday Inn down the street. Thank you for your assistance in aiding my family in morning the death of our parents and grand parents
