Jerry and his team were great to work with throughout my project’s duration. Their quote was reasonable and they remained in close communication. I bought a house in November. Once spring hit, Jerry tried doing the work on an available Saturday, but EVERY SINGLE Saturday seemed to rain. That didn’t stop Compass Rose from swinging by on a Sunday with good weather to get the job done. I got pictures throughout the project as they tore up the old roof, fixed the rafters, and put on new shingles to demonstrate their progress.

I got some other roof work on my new house, and Compass Rose will be the roofing company I’ll be working with to get it done.

I recently had a roof done by Compass Rose roofing. I believe they did an excellent job on the installation and went above and beyond what was expected of them. They replaced 90% of the wood trim boards with synthetic that included taking down gutters and reinstalling them and replacing any rotted spots with new wood and flashing so it won’t happen again. They were very thorough in the clean up. The owner Jerry stayed on the job the entire day making sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend these guys for any job!!

Jerry and his crew have helped me out with roofing repairs and a new roof installation in the past. When we moved to our new home last year the home inspector had noted an issue with the ridge vent. I called Jerry to take a look and make a recommendation. He was very professional in his explanation of how a ridge vent works, why our ridge vent was not venting properly and why he recommends a certain product. We had them replace the ridge vents on our home and garage to get them venting properly and hopefully extend their life. Great work, great service and fair pricing.

I couldn't be happier with the amazing work done by Compass Rose Roofing and Siding! They transformed my home by stripping off the old siding, installing fan fold insulation, replacing damaged trim and sheathing, and wrapping all windows, doors, and sills in trim coil. They then installed CertainTeed vinyl siding, which looks fantastic and has truly refreshed the entire exterior.

The crew was professional, courteous, and respectful of my property, leaving the worksite spotless every day. They also went above and beyond by bringing in a master electrician to handle exterior electrical work, including protecting my meters and installing new light fixtures and receptacles on three sides of the house. Jerry Gravlin and his amazing crew from Compass Rose Roofing came to our home in Bradford, NH and in two days stripped off two old roofs and installed our new roof, just this past week. This followed up a search for roofers with lots of quotes and presentations at our kitchen table.

Not only did Jerry quote us the best deal, he also didn’t ask for money up front. “Pay me when it’s finished,” he said, “because sometimes roofers will take a deposit and never show up.” Our trust in him went through the roof, as you can imagine, and his attention to detail and going the extra mile for us was extraordinary.

I couldn’t resist the pun. Apologies.

Seriously though, his services were first-rate because our big, three-story home has a steep roof and was built in 1865. It features a high dormer, an old ornate front porch, a bay window, and a fancy little roofed kitchen doorway. Jerry and his team creatively repaired all of them by custom-bending metal edging after tearing up 150-year-old metal. They even replaced some old clapboards, thirty feet up on the dormer, with custom-cut vinyl ones. From the street, you can’t tell the difference. All at no extra cost above the original quote. Jerry also had our old shingles lab tested for asbestos. Luckily, there wasn’t’ any.

In other words, every problem our roof had (including rot on the attached wood shed), Compass Rose Roofing fixed.

His young team of roofers were prompt, courteous and showed an athletic level of endurance during the non-stop work from dawn to dusk. They cleaned the place up as well, put our porch furniture back in place, and even screwed back into place our large, stand-up porch umbrella, tighter than they’d found it.

I heartily recommend Compass Rose Roofing, and their amiable boss, Jerry Gravlin. He’s a good conversationalist, too.

Jerry succeeded in finding the roof leak and repaired it when other roofers failed. I had previously contracted a reputable roofing company who inspected and thought they found the source, did the work yet the leak continued. The roofing company came back reinspected stating the siding was probably the issue and proposed removing siding to look for where water was coming in. We did not feel the siding was the issue since leak seemed to be after roof was washed. So we looked for second and third opinions. So happy we were referred to Jerry! He listened, had crew that efficiently, effectively and respectfully solved our leak! Jerry was a pleasure to work with, was more than fair and even replaced a 2 ft section of our vinyl siding that I needed replaced. Update: one year later....still satisfied.

We just had a roof installed and are very satisfied with the results. The crew was professional and hardworking. They were in and out in a day. The owner is wonderful to work with. He went the extra mile to ensure that we were pleased with his work. The job was a little tricky due to dormers and corners, but not for them!! They made it seem so easy! Replaced all the flashing better than previously installed and updated one section per manufacturer instructions because it had incorrect material due to the pitch. He did a few extras for us without adding more money to the contract (installed a vent from our bathroom fan and replaced some cedar boards that blew off the dormer during a storm) which was extremely helpful. The crew cleaned up everything....not even one nail remained behind. We enjoyed chatting with the owner who is very personable. He even offered to come back to help us with something that was not part of the contract!!! I would have no reservations about hiring them again. Excellent company.

My wife and I recently hired Compass Rose Roofing Company to install a new roof on our cape and adjoining garage. Working with Jerry and his crew was a real pleasure. His install team worked together like a well oiled machine and it was impressive to watch them install the new roof, cut new ridge vents, install 4 new skylights and a new upstairs bathroom vent pipe, and perform a full cleanup in the course of a single 8 am to 5 pm workday. Jerry was onsite throughout the day to answer my questions and engage with me to ensure I was completely satisfied, particularly with the install of the new skylights. Jerry, Keith and their professional crew were so amazing to work with!! They not only replaced our roof with superior shingles, they went above and beyond in educating us about our roof (we have an 1880s colonial that has seen it's share of winters, rain and wind), advising us on any changes needed to do the job right (adding sheeting over horizontal original roofing boards) and walked us through every step. I am an avid gardener and have been replacing and updating old and overgrown foundation plantings and Compass Rose took the time to cover and protect my landscaping! They were clean, efficient, very communicative (which I highly value) and came when they said they would. They also were super helpful in providing help and guidance with our insurance company (for lost shingles which ultimately lead to this replacement). I couldn't recommend them more!!! I only wish I had more roofs to replace!!!

In an area and time when securing emergency help from contractors is difficult… this company excels in helping!!! I had serious water leaks from chimney issues during recent rains. I called Jerry. Spoke directly and promptly with him. He and his crew were here next day… on a Sunday no less!!! They located and fixed the issue. They came back after next rain to check. They tweaked the repairs a bit more at no extra charge.

December 23rd, 2023 A bad storm ripped a bunch of shingles off and my roof leaked all the way through to the second floor, through the dining room and into the basement. It was Christmas weekend and I couldn’t get anyone to even call me back! My neighbor had work done the year before and highly recommended this company. Gerry returned my call immediately and his crew came out the very next day and patched it up. We were scheduled for more rain so this was a very stressful time. They came to replace my entire roof a few weeks ago. The plywood was all moldy and they had to replace almost all of it! Apparently their was little to no barrier in between the shingles so the wood had been getting wet for some time. Also it was not vented properly. They placed a ridge vent, tons of ice and water shield and replaced both skylights. And they got the job done in 2 days. Everything was cleaned up like they had never been there. I highly recommend Compass Rose. They do it right!
