Combs Construction, Roofing, & Siding

Sweet old couple who believes in God and family, but absolutely terrible customer service business. This is not to insult the people as people. Their business dealings were horrendous. Did not schedule an appointment, walked into my flower bed and looked through my window before I answered the door which was unnecessary and albeit a bit intrusive. Showed up without calling or text messaging. Almost drove off without touching base with me about the measurements they took, except that I saw through the front glass door. They said they would call me and schedule the roofer to take an estimate, but they never called with the siding full replacement estimate nor a repair estimate to compare. The did not call the next day to schedule the roofing estimate like they said. They called a full week later and did not leave a voicemail. When I tried to call back this morning, my call was sent straight to voicemail. I have already had multiple estimates completed by other companies and final prices, as well as confirming other businesses to complete the job, in the time period it took for them to even call me back about the first siding estimate. I can tell they mean well but they are meant for retirement and I say that with the utmost kindness intended.

A family member should take over for them.

Poor quality work. Denied any responsibility for their issues and problems with work completed. It took filing a case in civil court and the judge to tell them to attempt to repair the work. All of which spanned for over a year. Mr. Combs is far too elderly to complete any of the work properly. Mrs. Combs has been very rude and speaks for Mr. Combs. They claim to have a “warranty” on their work but decline to answer phone calls unless subpoenaed to court. It is clear that the Combs Construction company is completely fine with taking advantage of the elderly. It is unknown how many other people have been taken advantage of.

The issues:
1- shingles somehow impossibly anchored to completely rotten decking. (Any roofing company would not ever under any circumstances use any rotten wood as decking and not replace it.)
2 - siding falling off, warping, and all of the seams and edges poorly trimmed and fastened
3- claiming that the problems were the homeowner’s responsibility and that they are not responsible for replacing any rotten decking.
4- claiming that they submitted photos and documents to the city, to which the city has no record of.

Repaired leaky roof on sun room and replaced siding. This family business was outstanding! They were immediately responsive to our first phone call. We were very happy with their quote. As the removed siding they discovered original construction issues that added to the final invoice. They handled it with great compassion and performed necessary repairs. Let these folks handle your needs!
