Chicago Roof Repair - Property Restoration - Public Adjuster - McKinley Co.

We hired McKinley Restoration to fix a roof leak that my husband had pointed out last year with this company. The work performed was unacceptable, as they completely failed to fix the leak.

They only came back to fix their work after my husband posted a bad review and then pressured him to take it down with the promise that they would fix this.

We had to hire an independent company to investigate the leak. The independent company confirmed that McKinley never addressed the original issue and source of the water leak, although it was clearly communicated by my husband the location of the leak and where to perform the work.

McKinley refused to take responsibility for this and ignored our request for reimbursement which doesn’t cover the full cost of the investigation or the ongoing damage.

This whole experience has been a nightmare and time consuming in the form of wasted money, more leaks, and zero accountability. I would not recommend for the abovementioned reasons.

UPDATE: McKinley has responded to two other one star reviews by our neighbors in the same building that has the roof leak saying the have no recollection of working with them. Do they not know how a HOA association works? One building, one roof. Pretty straightforward McKinley.

I hired McKinley to fix an active roof leak, but their repair was done by a secondary crew and included reusing old materials—against the contract. The leak never stopped and actually worsened.

They only returned after I posted a negative review, then pressured me to take it down by promising to make things right. I removed it in good faith—but the problem persisted.

Eventually, I hired an independent lab to investigate. Their testing showed water pouring visibly into the living room within a minute—right where I originally flagged. This is not a complex or ambiguous issue; the evidence is clear and straightforward. Despite that, McKinley ignored all my follow-ups and made no effort to fix the issue, even though the work is still under warranty.

This has caused serious damage, ongoing costs, and unnecessary stress. Avoid this company—they’ve shown zero accountability or professionalism.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. They came out & “repaired” a leak in the roof & I use the word repair in jest because they repaired it as good as my 1 year old nephew could. After pleading with them to come fix it again they failed for a second time. Was forced to hire someone else to eventually fix it & the problem was so clear a 5 year old could have spotted it. When this was brought to McKinleys attention & we asked for a full refund we received zero response. Stay away from this firm at all costs. They do awful work & their lack of response & professionalism is Stunningly terrible.

When my roof and siding were damaged in a hailstorm, McKinley reached out to me to make the repairs. They contacted my insurance company on my behalf. When the Allstate low balled the estimate, McKinley consulted an independent appraiser and fought with Allstate to get the correct amount needed to do the repairs correctly and to the city codes. This took quite a while and they never gave up!! A special shout out to Monica Kolendo for making what was headed into a long drawn out battle with Allstate into a great professional job on my roof, gutters, siding and downspouts! Their crews did a great job, cleaned up great and I am extremely happy with everything they did to help me. I would highly recommend McKinleY Restoration!!

In awful weather conditions and multiple equipment problems because of very cold temperatures the crew from McKinley
did a terrific job removing the gutter ice jams that was damaging the ceilings inside the house .
