The entire Deputy staff has always been top notch. Jeremy Deputy is considerate and prompt when providing answers to any questions my wife and i have. Deputy Builders are great! Starting with our base plan, Carl listened to our wants, did some quick hand sketches, and came back with a layout that would become our new home.
Jeremy was great throughout the build. He was very attentive throughout the whole process. Punchlist items were addressed in a timely manner. We are now in the house 6 months and everything is solid.
The ladies in the office have always been welcoming and friendly.
Other than their solid construction, probably the best thing about Deputy Builders is communication. If they don't answer a call, they ALWAYS return the call or text, always the same day, and normally within 30-60 minutes.

What a great home-building experience with Carl Deputy & Son Builders! After 4 years of traveling the entire U.S. and Canada full-time in our RV, we chose to settle down again in “Lower Slower Delaware”, near one set of our kids/grandkids.
After finding the perfect piece of property, we met with several local area home builders. In our first meeting with Carl Deputy, we knew they had to be our builders! Having never built a home before, we “didn’t know what we didn’t know” and Carl patiently walked us through the entire process. He even drove us around to a few of their model homes and nearly completed homes to give us an understanding of their building process and designs. Meeting Carl, his wife Patty, son Jeremy, and long-time office person, Marilyn, felt like meeting family!
We contracted with Carl Deputy & Son just before needing to head to FL for the winter months. Their pricing was also quite competitive. From the start of the build, Jeremy took over the day-to-day supervision and they made great progress while we were out-of-state. We felt totally comfortable working with Jeremy long-distance. His communication was fantastic. He even took us on FaceTime video tours of the project and sent us photos periodically.
Even though we chose an existing floor-plan of theirs, Jeremy was so accommodating with both little and big changes to make the home uniquely our own. He was patient with us, explained everything to our satisfaction, and handled on-the-fly changes extremely well. Jeremey was amazing!
They had originally estimated 6 months from start to completion…and, sure enough, they were spot-on! We moved into our wonderful new home exactly 6 months from when they started the foundation work. On-time and on-budget.
The construction quality and value have been excellent. Jeremy and his crew were very detail-oriented, extremely professional, and focused 100% on our satisfaction as customers.

I never dreamed of building a custom home but I stumbled upon the opportunity after coming to Delaware. The idea seemed amazing, but was full of unknowns. Besides cost, the biggest factor for me was trust. How would I know which builder I could feel comfortable turning over years of savings to? Since I have no prior experience or knowledge in home building, I wouldn't even know if a builder was doing the job correctly or with lasting quality.
After the first meeting with the Deputy's I knew I could begin the process with them. They showed me in the months to come that I could let go and trust that what they said would get done, did. The process moved in an orderly and efficient manner and it was obvious building custom homes is what they were meant to be doing. I felt the quality and attention to detail they put into my home was as if they were building it to be their own home. I enjoyed the process and would 100% do it over again without reservation!

We had been talking with few builders and one we thought we were ready to go with but we got a funny feeling they were not actively building anything. We kept riding around the area and we kept coming across MANY Carl Deputy projects in active status. We met with Carl and the family business gave us a warming feeling. So we immediately got our project started with Carl and Jeremy has been the face of their company through all phases of construction. We had nothing but the best experience having the Carl Deputy and Son team build our house. While we did not challenge them with a CUSTOM build, we loved the model home at Plymouth Place. As soon as we looked at it we both said this is it! And they built a copy for us. Quality and Attention to Detail is all I can think of to say. The home build was completed over a 9 month period form our initial conversation to moving in. 6 months building time. Love it!

Before meeting and working with Carl & Jeremy Deputy, I seriously had no idea that there was any custom home builders in the area that could build us the high quality home we desired and provide us with the personalized service we hoped to find.
