Due to many negative reviews, I was nervous to use Cahaba Contractors when assigned by my warranty company. However, they responded within 24 hours, showed up right on time, and fixed issues I was having with 2 sink faucets without any trouble. I was very pleased with their service and cannot think of anything that could have improved the experience.

They came out without ladder, tools to replace damaged sheetrock. They told me that I would have to sand and do a 2nd coat of mud and before, painting ceiling. They didn't lay tarp to catch sheetrock dust or debris. I had to clean mess, sheetrock dust everywhere. Very unprofessional and wouldn't use again!!!!

If I could give 0 stars that would still be too high. Our plumbing is backed up and when I called our home warranty they went with Cahaba Contractors. After my initial phone call the appointment was set for 8 AM. No one can get one of the people on the phone. Not me, not the home warranty company.

I cannot use any facilities in my home, so please go somewhere else. Do not waste your time with these unprofessional people.

Would give zero stars if I could and it would be equal to the amount of help they were; ZERO. Filed a claim with my warranty company for my AC unit to be repaired back in February of 2021 and they sent out a contractor from Cahaba Repair to diagnose the issue and charge me the service fee. My claim was mysteriously cancelled and the warranty company had no idea why, I went through this process 3 times and even tried to explain to them that I have a young child and an infant in the house and it's over 80 degrees in here even with a window unit hooked up. I called and called for weeks and they assured me it was being taken care of. They said they had sent the info to my warranty company and my warranty company said they had not received anything. Eventually they stopped answering or returning my calls, then continued to purposely hang up on my home warranty company when they would try to call on my behalf. It has now been 4 months of no heat or air and Cahaba has done nothing but steal $100 from me. Had my claim transferred to A&E Service Company today and they immediately contacted me and scheduled my service appointment. Don't use Cahaba Repair if you are going through a warranty service, they are unprofessional, unresponsive, disorganized and the owner doesn't seem to care. Such a poor business model and I gave them more of my patience than they honestly deserved.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This company showed up in response to my home warranty. I had a heating issue on my main level back in January. A day or two later, a man called me saying that he was with this company and said he'd be at my house around a certain time. When that was agreed on, he asked when my house was built and if it was the original unit. I said yes. He showed up, walked in with a pen and paper, wrote the part number down and then took my service fee and left. A few days later (it was pretty cold in January and February) I had to call my home warranty to figure out what was going on and they told me that I needed a new unit and that they would cover X amount of dollars but the amount of modifications equated to $650 out of pocket because all of the duct work in the area had to be reworked... A month and a half later (today) the man come by himself and completes the job in probably an hour. Hour and a half if you count cleanup and paperwork. Looking at what he did, the "modifications" that cost me $650 was him using Tim snips to cut out about a foot of existing duct work, retaping it, putting a new flex gas line, and a step-ups adapter to connect to the existing vent. This material costs about $50 total, the most expensive item he used (and ran out which left most seams exposed) was the aluminum tape. When I called I was talked to like an idiot, was told that I paid for the Tech's experience, not his work or how little of time it took him, or the materials. As a former contractor, I know this to be BS. I know many HVAC, plumbers, etc and the evidence points to Cahaba Repair being shady. Speaking with my home warranty, I am told that the official report says that the technician came and diagnosed my unit and found it to be faulty and in need of complete replacement. He diagnosed that the home warranty company didn't check up on their contractors and that they would make some money on a replacement job. Period. The guy who answers the phone will likely respond saying how little I know about the field of work, but he's wrong.

This company is Shady and will take advantage of you and your home warranty. Beware.

I've used Cahaba Contractors for several different issues. Brandon was sent out to complete the repairs each time. He was professional, punctual, friendly, experienced, and just overall pleasant. The work was completed quickly and to my satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this company.

My air went out in our home. Our air was out for an entire weekend. Another company was suppose to come and didnt show up. My home warrenty company found Cahaba Contractors ...the worker called
Immediately. confirmed and
came out, made us a priority..... FIXED the problem and explained to me what the problem was. The worker Keith Davis was very polite, had patience to my questions and nice. He didnt make no mess or fuss while working. He knows his JOB very well. Now our home is cool again. Thank you Cahaba Contractors ...(6 ) stars.

Came to the property twice about a stopped up kitchen sink. The technician refused to fix it properly. I had to get somebody else to go underneath the house to unstop the line at the clean out trap. I asked the technician several times to go underneath the house and he refused to do it. I think he thought I was going to continue to call and allow them to milk me for money. On one occasion they came to the property and water spouted out on the floor. They did not even have towels to clean up the water spill. But owner actually went to the van and got a bed sheet an attempt to clean up the spill. I ended up using my own towels. Would not recommend them to anybody.

They're also difficult to get in touch with. It took several days for me then get them to respond after the home warranty company dispatch them. In fact if it wasn't for the home warranty company I would not have worked with them at all.

We had a great experience with Brandon. He drilled through our new tile floors to install our fridge water lines, hooked up our gas stove, and fixed a huge flooding issue we were having with our washing machine. I was expecting and told him so ‍♀️ that I would be paying thousands to clear out tree roots from the line. My bill didn’t touch the 1k range because the washing mashing issue turned out to be an easy fix. I am so appreciative of his services because I was saving up to pay an enormous amount and he knew it but took the honest route. I am extremely appreciative and will call again in a heartbeat.

READ THIS REVIEW:
When our water heater went out the home warranty folks told me that Cahaba contractors would be the ones on the job. Naturally, I wanted to see some reviews. I know that internet reviews don’t tell the whole story. Some people are impossible to please and don’t understand why things like HVAC and plumbing are so expensive. So they have a good bit of bad reviews and a few good ones. Mine is a good one. Brandon heads up the plumbing department with Cahaba Contractors. He came in, gave me a very honest and straight forward diagnosis, and worked with me on everything. He completely went above and beyond for us. This guy really knows what he’s doing. He had the problem figured out and the water heater replaced in less than 2 hours (we had been without hot water for 3 days). I can’t speak for everyone that Cahaba Contractors sends your way, but I can tell you this, if they send Brandon you’re in good hands.

BEWARE!!! I cannot express how much REGRET I have that we ever hired them to do our plumbing. Our dining room flooded twice due to issues in the upstairs master bathroom. These jokesters came, tore out the walls and ceiling, said they fixed it by replacing one little part in the shower, and left. A week later it flooded again. This tome they snaked a camera down the toilet, said they saw the issue and could fix it. Flash forward to 4 months later (this last week) when it floods again. They had the gall to say “well we only guarantee the fix for 3 months!” Which is LAUGHABLE. Have you ever heard of having to call a plumber every three months to fix your plumbing? Not if they are ANY good. And that’s after the tech who “fixed” it both times hangs up on you because “you yelled at me!” So now we get actual plumbers out, and they say well damn, your cast iron pipes are completely rusted and this is only going to KEEP happening until you replace them. They wondered why these guys didn’t tell us that. Because as long as they guarantee our plumbing for a few months, they could bet on us coming back and paying them over and over to fix the thing temporarily instead of replacing it like they should have done. DONT waste your money or your time! They have zero idea what they are doing! Did I mention that we are 8 months pregnant and they have no issue hanging us out to dry? Detestable business. Take yours elsewhere!

Do not use this company. My ac went out in my house in the middle of summer. I called the home warranty and they were dispatched out. I called the place and got the owners Vmail that he would call back at his earliest convience but never did. The tech was very prompt but it took over a week for them to deal with the warranty company. They claimed that the warranty company would not get back with them but come to find out when I called the warranty company that they had never sent the paperwork. Then a few days later it was right back out. The tech returned and it had been due to a solder coming loose and had gone back out. They fixed at no extra cost. Now 2 months later it has gone back out. I tried calling the tech no answer. I tried calling the owner no answer. His "earliest convience" was 5 hours later at which time he assured me that the tech would be calling. I waited an hour and tried them both again. The owner picked and again said that his tech would call me that night and come the next day. Well it's the next day and no call from the tech, he won't answer his phone, and the owner will not answer or return a Vmail. It's 79 degrees in my house right now and myself, my wife, and 2 dogs are sitting here sweating with no one else able to come till Wednesday. I see why now they have all these bad reviews and looks like everyone has the same problems I am. Thanks Cahaba for leaving me sweating my a** off in the middle of summer because you didn't fix it the first time.

Where do I start. We purchased a water heater in March and the owner keeps on making excuses to call the gas co and give them the info needed for our rebate. This co should be ashamed. This was in March...we at in July. Please, Do Not waste your money!

The worst company to deal with. Used warranty to get sink unstopped paid $75 deductible then came back and asked for $24 more dollars poured something down sink and was supposed to fix pipe under sink. I checked as soon as he left pipe still leaking and sink still stopped up. Called company was told he forgot about me and I'm still waiting. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY. Doesn't deserve a star.

Cahaba Contractors came out to service my heating system recently. When I called in, I spoke to the owner and he was very polite and helpful. They were prompt and courteous. The man who came was knowledgeable and able to take care of the problem. I would highly recommend them for your ac/heating/plumbing needs.

My grandmother's A/C stopped working the day that we brought her home from the hospital for hospice care. We called and set up an appointment with them because they were recommended by the EMTs that had to come to her house that night. They were supposed to be there 9-18-13 at 8am, showed up around 9am. From that point, they came and went ALL DAY because of parts that they had to get from places in Pelham and other locations. THEN they had to keep leaving to go get tools that they'd left. SERIOUSLY?! This is a professional operation? They knew my grandmother was bedridden and was having breathing issues due to the heat but that didn't hurry them along. They didn't leave her house until 8pm that night.

To make things worse, it hasn't even been a week and the stupid thing has stopped working. It broke dowan around 10pm (9-23-13). We called their "emergency" number but no one answered! No one returned a phone call. My family and I left several irate voicemails for them and as 12am on 9-24-13, no return calls. We left messages saying that they better be at her house first thing in the morning. They didn't call us back so my uncle called them around 8am and they couldn't come out until 10am, which isn't "first thing." I'll update once they do the repairs.

Update 9-24-13 They showed up around 10:15 and DID repair the air conditioning unit. Apparently, the reason they couldn't come earlier in the day is because, once again, they had to drive out to Pelham to pick up the parts they needed. We'll see if the unit keeps working.

Update 10-3-13 And the air conditioning has broken down again.... Apparently, expecting them to install a unit to last longer than a week is asking too much. They have "repaired" the unit, yet again. I have no expectations of the work lasting. Who knows? Maybe 3rd time really is the charm.

My A/C stopped working in my house. Called my Home warranty and they said Cahaba Contractors would set up an appointment within the hour. I waited 3 hours before having to call myself. Came out and found Leaking evaporator. They told me they will get with warranty and give me a call. Once again I had to call them. They told me they submitted it to my warranty and so I called and found out they are charging $500 that my warranty is not covering. Bit of a shocker there, never replaced one before and knowing warranty companies no big deal. Approved the repair and once again waited for a phone call that never came to set up an appointment. Called and found out they had to order the evaporator and they would call me (ya right) to set up the appointment. Again had to call them and set up the appointment not even knowing that they had received it yet, it just was coincidence that they did. Day of installation: Appointment at 9:00A.M. no on showed up and no phone call. 10:30A.M. still nothing. Called and found that the repair guy is at a doctors appointment and does not know when he will be out. Talked with manager (Shannon) and he can't tell me anything just we will call you back. Surprise no call. Call again and said he will be out before 1:00P.M. He did not get there until 1:45P.M. Irritated I watched him work so then I could see what the $500 charge was. After completing the whole repair he gave me the bill without being itemized and asked for the check. I asked to itemize is and explain the charges. Coil cleaning $95 Duct modification $275 Pipe Modification $135. I can understand cleaning, but the modifications I could do myself for $20 max with little to no labor. Now the manage wont return my phone calls or messages. I would not recommend using them.
