Subs and homeowners beware! Nathan built our home in 2023-2024. It started off great, he puts on an excellent front and we trusted that he would do a good job and guide us through the process of being first time home builders. Unfortunately we found that he does not communicate well and does not follow through.

We have pictures, texts and proof of multiple issues along the way. We let a lot of little issues go, because we wrote it off as him being new and we’re willing to give him a chance to grow his business.

We are 6 months in to living in our new home and have had 2 major leaks in bathrooms, with one bathtub still unusable. Not to mention the trim and doors that never were finished, the sub that called us to be paid because Nathan didn’t pay him, and the list of issues we had along the way. Nathan promised a 1 year warranty on this home and he is not making good on that.

From the beginning he was slow to communicate, but it got worse as the build went on to where we wouldn’t see of hear from him for weeks and he would not be at the job site checking progress at all. We found issues he didn’t because he was simply not there!

Beware of other reviewers- he is having his girlfriend and others who barely know him write positive reviews. Possibly fake accounts? Who knows.…. I’ll let the facts speak for themselves.

I don’t even know where to start. We first hired Nathan because he seemed reasonable and our kids were friends with his kids. We were trying to give him an opportunity to grow his business and we are very much regretting doing this. There’s many different things that were poorly done on our house but here are just two of them.

We moved into our new home that we hired him to build in June/July 2024. In August we found that the shower pan was leaking and had water all over the subfloor under LVP, carpet and down into the basement. This had to be completely torn out by Servpro as the shower pan was incorrectly installed. It has since been rebuilt but the tub still hasn’t been installed, there was never any communication with the plumber during rebuild and so the original tub won’t work and Nathan was supposedly ordering a new one. It’s currently January 22, 2025 and this tub is not installed and so we haven’t even been able to use it. This has been 6 months on this and it’s still not done.

The other issue was just found this past week. There was water leaking from a downstairs light and upon inspection we found that there was a leaking hose under a bathroom sink, this is a completely different sink as the shower problem. I texted Nathan and this was his response “After considering the details of this incident, I see that it doesn't fall under my warranty.
I am not going to do anything on this.
I delivered to you a home with plumbing that worked and was in good condition. The only thing that wasn't in good and working condition was the shower pan, and I have taken care of that at my own expense. That was the only thing. Anything that breaks after the fact is on the homeowner. That vanity, sink, and faucets passed inspection and were not leaking at all when the home was delivered to you and the water was turned on, and it was fine for months after. You guys have been living there for a while now, and someone there obviously did something to cause this, or it is a problem with the fixture you bought.

You are going to have to take care of it. Submit it to your insurance and let them hash it out with my insurance or the manufacturer of the faucet or the plumber, or whoever.

I am not taking action on this.”

I contacted the plumber and when he came out he agreed that the leak was due to the hose not being screwed in all the way, he screwed it in and it works fine now. The problem is that it has been leaking for months and caused major water damage to our home that no body is wanting to take responsibility for. He said that Nathan wouldn’t return his calls either and had never worked with a general that treated his subs so poorly.

We were told and promised in our contract that our home came with a warranty and this work has not been done at all. The lack of integrity has been crazy, we have never been treated so poorly. We have also asked multiple times for Nathan’s insurance information and information of his subs and he has never given it to us which is against state law.

We also had subs reaching out to us to get paid cause he hadn’t paid them. There are other issues I haven’t even listed, these are just a few of them.

I had also left poor reviews talking about this on his Bull Construction Facebook page and he has since hidden those from his page, I know others that had him build had done so as well and theirs are also hidden.

When I continued to reach out to him he was very nasty in his responses, I will leave screenshots of the conversation with this review.

It’s also interesting that many of the other reviews on here have happened just over the last week since this second issue has come up and he has stopped answering my calls, trying to cover something up there??? I know many subs that have had problems and won’t do work for him anymore, I’m happy to share those people for you to get a true review just reach out and I can get that for you.

All I want is to be treated fairly, have what we were promised and have the new home that we paid for actually function correctly. This has not been the case here at all.

My husband and I hired Nathan to build our new home, and while we were initially excited about the project, our experience was disappointing due to several ongoing issues that were never adequately addressed.
From the beginning, we encountered issues sometimes multiple in a week, and delays in the timeline. One of the biggest issues we had was the foundation not being backfilled properly and on time. When the snow melted in the spring the week after we moved in, muddy water came pouring into our basement.
We reached out multiple times to Nathan to address issues many times, but his response was slow or nonexistent.
He claims to have a “lifetime warranty” but never responds to texts or calls when something comes up.
He’s very eager to pass the blame on to a subcontractor, and not take responsibility for decisions made.
The quality and customer service have been far from what we expected for the price we paid. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend him based on our experience.

Nathan is great to work with! Have always been paid on time after completing projects for him. He’s very knowledgeable and takes the extra steps to make sure his contractors and clients are pleased! Highly recommend working with Bull Construction!
