7 months to complete a 7 day job. 5 days of it in a rush at the end, likely because we were about to start a lawsuit. Ordered wrong size trusses, and had to have them redone. Miscommunication with cement company, so had to reschedule. Failed twice More getting the concrete delivered. Said he couldn’t lay it before one evening of rain, then laid it just before tropical storm Lee passed through. Too late to order the color metal roofing we wanted, so we settled for the 2nd choice. Building appears sound when finally completed, but reeked of pot for a day after they left.

I called bill about putting A metal roof on my mobile home he came and gave me an estimate and we sealed the deal with a handshake. He got the roof installed within the time we agreed upon. Then after we had a very heavy rain he called me to make sure there were on leaks. I would use Bill again if I need any more jobs done

I found BPS Roofing when I originally had a storm blow some of my shingles off the roof. Not only did Bill come right over, but he explained how the barn boards were spaced so that some of the shingles would not have any wood to nail into, therefore compromising their fastening. He did a good job with the patch, so I hired him to redo the entire roof, including plywood. He also helped fight for me with insurance to get a fair amount, and I appreciated that. I got three quotes from three roofing companies in the area, and his was competitive.

It did take a while to get to me (longer than initially anticipated, but not much longer than the other two timeframes were from the other quotes), but not once did Bill ignore my phone calls, or leave me feeling like he was ditching me. When Bill was able to finally get to me, he did a wonderful job. Not only does the roof look very nice, it is holding up. BPS Roofing also called me one day in the middle of the job to check if there were any issues. I was out of town, so he drove over to check on it, and FaceTimed me to show me things were solid. Lastly, Bill and his crew worked long hours to make sure work was done before storms the best he could.

Overall, yes, it did take more time than anticipated, but in the end, I am very happy with the result and felt it was worth the wait.

I hired BPS roofing to put a metal roof on my garage. I paid $1,250 up front for the materials in December of 2018. To date, the materials have not been purchased, the work has not been done, promises to return my payment have been broken, and I'm in the process of taking Bill to small claims court to recover my payment. Avoid this company! Update: Bill's response below that I refused his offer is a lie. Since his false posting, I have taken him to small claims court, where summary judgement was granted in my favor because he didn't show. Despite this, he has still not returned my deposit, and I'm pursuing further legal action to recover it.

Don’t be misled by Bill Smith and his company BPS Roofing & General Contracting. They did some work on my deck to shore up the foundation on our vacation home in preparation for putting on a garage. Bill and his crew through all of the debris from the job site under the deck and left it. I gave Bill a retainer of just over $11K for the garage and when we found the foundation issues, he said he could take care of the foundation for $10K more. For that 10K Bill said he would put grates in the deck to ensure any water coming off the roof wouldn’t cause any further issues. It’s been over a year and a half and I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which he ignored. To date the debris is still under my deck, I have no grates, and Bill has ignored my request to refund my balance and the cost of putting in grates. Bill will tell you what ever you need to hear to keep the job sold which isn’t an issue unless he has no intention of doing what he has told you. My advice is to stay clear of Bill Smith and his company BPS Roofing & General Contracting.

I read the response from BPS and no I’m not ashamed for leaving this review. I am ashamed that I believed Bill when he said that he would return to finish the grates that he promised to install and that he could do what he promised for $10K. I got the whole time is money thing but he didn’t say any of that when he drove away for the last time. He said he would be back and he never showed up again. Also, there is truth in hearing just one side of the story. So, I would be remiss if I didn’t suggest that an informed buyer go and look at the Better Business Bureau rating for the company they plan to employ. I did when I hired BPS and they had high marks at the time. Two years later not so good, matter of fact their rating could not be any lower when I last checked. It takes multiple complaints from numerous customers to lower a company’s rating, not just one customer with their side of the story. Buyer be aware, if you hire someone with this kind of history.
