We recently consulted Big Boy’s Construction on a roof repair, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. From start to finish, the customer service was top-notch, especially thanks to our estimator Kevin S.! He was incredibly professional, responsive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a detailed report that we could understand. He answered all our questions, and made us feel confident in the process. If you’re looking for a trustworthy company with outstanding service, ask for Kevin—you won’t be disappointed!

All our repairs are not complete yet but Mike with Big Boys Construction has been great to work with! I’ve been so impressed with the constant communication and they have been phenomenal with working out our claim with the insurance company!
It has been great having them to look out for us to ensure our insurance covered all the damages.

I called Biz out for an estimate & she took the time to go over everything needed to do the repair I needed & helped me understand storm damage vs. damage that occurs over time. I was very impressed with her knowledge. I would recommend Biz to anyone needing Roofing or Construction services.

I had a leak in my roof and called them out to give me an estimate. Kevin came out and as the failed car salesman he was spent thw entire 10 minutes he was here talking about the insurance claim we could make to get me a brand new roof and all the extras that come with it. I was hesitant about the claim considering the 2 other companies that came out before them were pretty quick to not consider an insurance claim and asked him instead if he could give me a quote for a replacement instead of pursuing the insurance route right now. He followed up a few days later asking if we needed anything, so I asked for a quote again and his response was "Yes I'll get it to you tonight what's the best price you got I can try to beat it", so I responded with an unrealistic number and his response was "Ok i haven't done it yet but if i can beat that can i earn your business?". Listen I get you want to close on sales, but this interaction reeked of desperation and sleeze. I have never had someone ask for comparison costs prior to providing a quote and I have never had a company so pushy about thinking the lowest price is all that matter. A roof is a huge investment and with how sketchy their interactions were, I'm sure that investment would be a waste of money. I'm strongly considering reaching out to GAF and reporting this company for their sleezy practices. I'm sure they don't want their company associated with these practices

I was excited about the possibility of working with this company. I spent two hours of my time sharing our projects and discussing our needs, only to have it be a week and a half later without a complete quote and ignored texts asking for an update. Everyone’s time is valuable, and it’s always a time investment to have a contractor over to one’s house to share details of house projects. In this case, the company clearly values its own time and priorities but not my time— and for that reason, it’s a one star for me. Maybe if they deem you worthy, the resulting work is good— I can’t speak to that, but I would’ve rather not wasted my time interacting with this company.

Excellent service throughout. Actual roofing went very well. Work crew was professional, courteous, and did great job cleaning up after the installation was complete. Project Manager and administrative team were outstanding from the initial contact through the completed project.

The work being done was relatively easy, but my experience with the estimator, install crew was excellent. They were quick and professional.

We received 3 different company quotes for roof replacement. 2 companies gave competitive bids, One gave a really low ball. Gary from Big Boy's was the only one to followup routinely without being pushy. I would text him with questions and would not have to wait long for a response. After investigating warranties and pre service experience we went with Big Boy's. From start to finish they remained on the time table given for work to be completed. Clean up after work was excellent. I have other projects coming up and will be looking to Big Boy to be top of the list for completion.

Alex came for inspection/estimate. He was very knowledgeable and explained the damage he saw, new products for roofing, etc. He was very thorough and competent.

Mike was extremely helpful in explaining the issue with my roof in a way that was easy to understand. He took the time to walk me through the problem and answer all of my questions. His friendly and professional attitude made the experience much more pleasant. I truly appreciated his patience, honesty, and clear communication throughout the entire process.

These guys were amazing! They were quick to get back to me, kept in contact via text which I appreciated. They were very accommodating. Even coming to my home to pick up payment when my child was very sick so I didn’t have to leave. They completed the job in one day. We won’t be going anywhere else for our future roofing needs!!!!

We called big boy construction out for an estimate because we found a shingle in our yard after a nasty storm. Andrew came out and surveyed our roof and found NO DAMAGE. I could have hugged the man. My husband wanted to send him flowers. He was awesome, give him a raise. When it’s finally time to replace the roof we will be calling you guys

I had previously submitted a 5-star review, but there have been lots of learning curves on this journey of having my trim replaced. I’ll start off with the good.

Kevin who came out and did the estimate was great. Even still, he’s super nice and professional any time I have to talk to him, he answered all of my questions during the process with no problem. If I had to follow up on something due to not having an answer, he got it to me on the follow up.

The contractor that came out was Edwin. Again, super nice, answered all of my questions. Explained things to me in full detail which I love because this is all new to me so I appreciate him taking the time to walk me through everything and keeping me informed with how things were moving along. If I had to go through two people again, it would for sure be them.

Now for the problems, I hate the “lump sum contract” structure and wish I had known about that prior to going with this company. Unfortunately, I had squirrels living in my trim and the company I was going to go with became non-responsive so I really was in a bind at this point. Quote seemed reasonable and I was good to go. Now, a different contractor had told me I may need my chimney redone because usually with outside chimneys the material used is old and rotted out/wood repairs would be needed. This was never mentioned by Big Boy’s, but since I was aware I didn’t think to ask about it. That was my first mistake. The cost that came with that was something extremely unexpected and when I asked for an itemized list, that’s when I found out about the lump sum contract. Dumb to me, but I don’t do construction nor do I understand the business so it may make sense. Ultimately, I got a stern talking to about not going business with contractors without running it past someone first to make sure everything makes sense, which I’ve been told before, but again I was in a bind so here we were.

There were nails all over the yard. I’ve been out there here times and even bought a magnet roller to pick up the nails, let’s just say I’m still not certain about allowing my daughter or dog play in the yard for a while. They’re literally everywhere.

There are a few things that need to be repaired with the trim but I can honestly say I’m ready to pay and be done with this. When the trim around the door was getting replaced, they removed one of the caps, twisted the wires together and placed one cap on it blowing the doorbell transformer. No I have to have an electrician come out and replace that which is yet another unexpected expense. I know projects will always come with there unexpected expenses, but this one project is setting me back way further than any other project I’ve done has and it’s really frustrating. I informed them about the doorbell issue and no apology for the inconvenience or anything. Would I use this company again or refer them to anyone else, absolutely not.

Biz has been amazing! She listened to my crazy situation and has helped me through it! If you need someone who will show up and knows how to handle insurance shes the one! I cannot thank her enough!

The estimator, Gary, was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He got right to the point of my roof needs and didn't oversell. However, we chose another company as the bid was 1,000 less and could be started right away.

We had Gary out to inspect our roof as we had quite a few storms this spring. Gary was professional, timely, showed a ton of integrity, and made the whole process quick and smooth. This is my first time ever using the company, and I was extremely impressed. Definitely will be calling again if we have any other needs!

This company is awesome. Called 3 roofing companies 2 showed up and only this company (Joe E) followed through. Joe E walked me through exactly what was needed. He educated me on the why or why not and what was beneficial for my home. Great crew!!!! 10 out of 10 recommend.

I’m confused how this company has a 5 star rating because my experience with them was worth about as much as they showed up.

I had an appointment with Kevin to meet and go over a new Standing Seam roof on my home. The day of our first appointment I received a text 2 hours before the appointment time, to reschedule.
Against my better judgment I rescheduled for a couple days later. No show. Not a text or a call. I went ahead and signed a contract with another company. A week and a half after our second appointment I received a text from Kevin “ Hey Matt sorry I have been kinda ran all over the place what's your schedule like this week”.

I understand we are in the spring, I understand storms have been in the area. Roofing companies are so worried about storm chasing, instead of worrying about the working class people trying to replace a roof with their hard earned my not an insurance claim.

Project Manager Gary Andrew led us through the whole process with the ultimate in professionalism and courtesy. He and his team dealt with the insurance company promptly and efficiently, which can be a challenge. He guided us through the material selection and options, with lots of photos and suggestions. The new roof is stunning, thanks to the quality work of the team. Gary was only a phone call away,
which made communication a breeze. We score Big Boy's, Gary Andrew and staff a resounding 10 stars!

Tanner did a very quick roof appraisal for me and to many photos so I could understand what was going on. He was very professional and great to work with.

Tanner proved himself to be a trustworthy, reliable business partner. Tanner identified issues of concern for me to contemplate and guided me through my options. The most prudent answer was to hold on performing remediation work at this point. Not many contractors in the field that don’t pressure folks to do unnecessary work so they can make a quick dollar. Will definitely be engaging Tanner and team after the next storm/when future work may need done.

The guys did an awesome job, were very fast! Did the whole roof in a little more than a day. Joe was excellent with the logistics of everything. With this being my first house, I wasn't sure exactly what I was doing, but he explained everything, and even answered the "stupid" questions that I may have had! All in all, highly recommend them!!!

I was referred to Big Boy by our warranty for our roof that was installed about 4yrs ago. They were very helpful in repairing the flashing and shingles that were installed incorrectly by another roofing company. After a lot of research, we contacted Big Boy to get an estimate to replace a damaged section of gutter. Big Boy gave a fair estimate, and scheduled and completed the work in a timely manner. We will definitely reach out to them for future gutter and roof work.

I would recommend this company. Gary Andrew is very professional and truly an expert in what he is doing. He inspected my roof and fireplace chimney and reported the damage promptly sending a video to show the extent of the damage. Big Boy’s is company that you truly can trust. Gary Andrew of Big Boy's Construction came to access damage to our roof as we lost shingles earlier this month. He was punctual, polite, extremely nice and pleasant. We have yet to hire anyone; but he did a complete and very comprehensive inspection, actually getting on the roof! Explained everything about our roof and educated us about some things we did not know. Very professional, knowledgeable and communicated well. He gives Big Boy's a definite advantage. HOWEVER GARY NEVER GAVE ANY ESTIMATES AND DID NOT ANSWER WHEN I TRIED TO CONTACT HIM!

Today Biz Woodcock came over to my father's house to look at the roof. She is quite experienced in this, the way she talked, answered questions and was able to decipher all the insurance lingo. I would recommend that anyone who is looking to work on their roof in Decatur to talk to her before talking with your insurance company, as it will help you a lot if a contractor/estimator is present when the insurance rep comes to look at your house. I will be updating this as we move forward with our claim.

I noticed some loose shingles so I contacted Big Boy Construction. The representative met with me that same week and pointed out a few other problems that I wasn’t aware of. He was very professional and so nice. I am so glad this was the company I called.

The staff that has been with me from the start (Kevin and Alex) both have been very helpful.they showed up on time, both showed up for the adjuster's meeting. Alex came back and we talked about what to expect during the process. Really can't wait to see how everything turns out.

As the project got underway,Alex kept me in the loop. From start to finish was completed quickly and the team was here and gone with a well done job.

In August 2024 Big Boy’s Construction replaced our roof. Communication with Gary was great from the estimate to the completion of our roof. I appreciated the photos and drone footage that gave me a view of what was on the roof and what needed to be addressed. Gary kept me in the loop throughout the project and answered any questions I had. The roof looks so nice and is a nice upgrade for our home.

This summer (2025) I again called on Big Boy’s to assist in replacing our gutters which had sustained minor storm damage. Gary once again was out to give an estimate and schedule the job. Within a week, the crew was out and installed the new gutters. Same experience as last year and the gutters look great!!!
