What people say about “Baker's Waterproofing”?
There are not enough reviews yet to form a clear opinion about Baker's Waterproofing
Recommended Reviews
Baker's Waterproofing did a great job in our garage and basement. The work was performed very well, and the workers were on time, polite, and respectful. The crew of 3 (Cale, Shay, and Jeremy) did an outstanding job, and I would recommend them to anyone needing waterproofing services.
I've had several great experiences with Baker's Waterproofing (Groundworks). Most recently, I had the serviceman Kayden at my home for a service call. He was very efficient and professional. Thank you!
Cale was very professional and courteous he took the time to explain where the water was coming in my basement and let me know my options.I would recommend cale to anyone.
In July 2025, Baker's repaired my home’s cracked footers and walls, installed a new and expanded internal drainage system, and replaced my downspouts. Basically, my new home had a number of latent foundation defects that degraded in our first year of ownership. It was a nightmare, but Baker's got me through it as painlessly as possible.
First off, when I was seeking estimates for both waterproofing and foundation repair, I found that most roads led back to Baker's because other companies did not provide all the services I required. In addition to the simplicity of one-stop shopping, it tells you something about them if they are able to occupy that space in the market. And without sounding like a commercial, their waterproofing systems are clearly a superior design to the standard alternatives. The only thing they do not do is restore finished basements after the waterproofing/foundation work.
Baker's was very responsive to my inquiry--a field inspector arrived at my home just days later. They are thorough, and you should be prepared for them spend a few hours assessing your home. The unfortunate reality is that the small thing you called about is potentially a symptom of a larger problem. To combat skepticism, the inspectors bring slide shows to educate homeowners and put the problem in context. When drawing up a plan to address your home’s issues, the inspectors are very aware that they probably caught you off guard and that people have real financial limitations. They didn’t sugar coat the necessity of the repairs, but I never felt pressured. To the contrary, the two inspectors I worked with (Bob M. and Mike G.) were beyond patient and left me feeling like they just wanted to help.
The work was done fast—a day ahead of schedule, 3 days total—since Baker's sent a different crew to work on each issue. These guys (Colson, Norm, Travis, Matt, and Chacar) were great. Prompt, polite, and reassuring. And when new issues were discovered mid-construction, they helped understand and gain comfort with the proposed solution.
Something that warrants emphasis is that all Baker's employees seem to recognize that you are only talking to them because something terrible and potentially expensive has happened to your home. Mike G. in particular had to do more than a little hand-holding as the project expanded and did a phenomenal job tamping down my anxiety. Colson, one of the foreman, also walked me through every phase of work and answered all my questions (even the dumb ones).
Needless to say, I’d rather not have to hire Bakers again, but I would do so without hesitation. I’d happily recommend them to anyone.
I had a very different experience with Bakers. I paid $15,000 to have my basement water proofed. Two months later it flooded again. They assured me they'd be back to fix it no extra charge, were no-show for one appointment and canceled my next, now they won't return my calls. Icing on the cake, I had a new sink and a stone counter top in my basement that magically disappeared and no one seems to know what happened to it. They replaced it with a utility sink, that also leaked. At least they fixed the leaky sink they put in.Run from this company, friends.
The inspector is a salesman. In person, there was a lengthy sales pitch and he didn't turn our existing wall anchors that Baker's previously installed and previous salesman turned on years we didn't turn them ourselves, nor did he suggest replacing our dead marine battery on our existing sump pumps. In follow up correspondence via email, Derek the salesman ignored my inquiry to both him and Haley asking about a replacement marine battery. My guess is he assumed I wasn't immediately going to agree to a $5K+ replacement sump pump so I wasn't worth it. Haley follows up with an email but obviously its just another sales pitch, because she also doesn't respond to my inquiry about replacing the marine battery. Best of luck with this business model!
Update: Updated from 1 star to 3 stars, as the salesperson texted me a suggestion for marine batteries within 4 hours of me posting a 1 star review on here. Obviously as you can tell from the immediate owner response, this review is the only reason they got back to me.
Just wanted to leave a review of one of their field inspectors, Terrek Ray. While we didn't decide to go through with the system at this point in time, I cannot express enough how professional and understanding Mr. Ray was. His professionalism, sincerity, and pleasantness made the whole process much easier to digest, and when we do decide to handle our basement problems, because of Mr. Ray, we will be choosing Baker's.
Colson, Norm, & Travis stabilized our foundation and did an amazing job cleaning up. They took time to explain the process and got the work done within 2 business days. There was a bathroom in the basement that needed some minor demo and they managed to keep a vanity that was blocking the work zone intact (despite setting my expectation for it to be demo-ed). They also kept the waterline and electric there in good shape. If you get this work done, expect the dry wall to be removed where needed. Some patches of the yard will also be dug up for the work. This is within expectations and the drywall and any dust were cleared out. The impact on the yard was also limited to just the work areas and patches were replaced with care . I worked with Angus on the initial project & contract and he was amazing to coordinate with and extremely knowledgeable. Foundation is the 4 letter word in home repair and Baker's made the process less stressful and left us feeling reassured. Financing is available for those of us who have several areas of the house to repair and a long bill to cover that.
Bob Liga came out to look at our property back in June when we experienced some flooding on our property and in our basement after a couple of back to back storms. He was very thorough and took a very comprehensive and thoughtful approach to assess our issues; and helped us get a handle on where to start tackling the problem. We look forward to working with Bob and Baker’s Waterproofing in the future to make our basement waterproof and beautiful!
I recently had my foundation repaired by Baker’s Waterproofing, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. The team Xander, Dionte, Kasey, Gavin, and Gary was absolutely phenomenal.
A special shoutout to Xander, Dionte, and Kasey, who handled the actual repair work. These guys were not only incredibly skilled and professional, but also respectful, friendly, and a true pleasure to have around. They went above and beyond in every way, making sure the job was done right, keeping me informed throughout the process, and even leaving the work area cleaner than it was before they arrived.
It’s rare to find a crew that combines top-notch craftsmanship with such genuine care and attention to detail. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team to get this repair done. Huge thanks to everyone involved!
If you’re considering foundation work, I highly recommend Baker’s Waterproofing. You’ll be in great hands.
P.S. Xander’s singing echoing through the vents was an unexpected bonus, who knew foundation repair came with a live concert?
Donald did an excellent job. He paid careful attention to his work and keeping the area clean. I was very pleased with the results.
My crawl space was a shambles. Sagging insulation and insufficient stability with one jack in place were a huge concern to me. (Field inspector) Bob came in, did a thorough inspection and set me up with what was needed to allay my concerns at a most reasonable cost to me financially. Daylan and Nick came in, encapsulated my crawl space and installed three jacks to shore up my flooring, giving me the peace of mind I needed for making my home safe and secure. I am most appreciative to Baker's Waterproofing for a job well done. I would highly recommend Baker's for crawl space concerns and I thank them very much.
Justin Lowden was my inspector. He was polite and very thorough in the inspection and explanation of what he found. Unfortunately we didn't get the financing but will call him to schedule as soon as we can. Great job Justin.
Baker’s Waterproofing are finishing our basement as I write. The team of Rich, Brandon and Robert did a great job and we are really pleased with their work. I would highly recommend them to take care of water problems in your home…
The before and after photos do the talking! We had a small portion of our basement that was never included in the original French drains so we had years of the effects of drainage issues to deal with in our basement when we bought our house in the fall. Baker’s was efficient from the start. Our original contact, Marcello, worked with us around our busy schedule and gave us a quote and explained what work would be done. Then the team of Nick and Daylen completed the labor and were courteous, professional, and efficient during the renovation. With a clean dry space, we were able to move forth with a better well system. All looks great! Nice work!
Brandon came out and immediately diagnosed water in my basement as a plumbing issue and worked to help find a temporary resolution (with advice on a longer-term solution). Then he stuck around and tested the sump pump and made some recommendations on that front. Amazing service focused not just on selling Baker but on helping me solve the problem. Definitely going to use them for replacing the sump pump when the time comes. Highly recommend based on the high level of service.
Although they couldn't assist with the specific repairs I needed, Derek was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything clearly and pointed me in the right direction. I really appreciated his honesty and professionalism! Would definitely recommend them for their integrity and expertise.
Marcello was very professional and informative. He wasn't pushy with any sort of off-putting sales tactics and worked to make sure I understood the information and recommendations. I'd definitely recommend him to help you figure out what you need - even if you're just looking for a starting point!
Baker's Waterproofing is by far the worst decision I have ever made when it comes to my home. When we were sold our system and paid $29,282.97 we were promised a dry basement and that is not what we got. Instead, we have experienced a flooded basement and have been ignored when trying to resolve the problem over the past month. We were told by three different Baker's employees that our system was not installed properly. (They did come and fix the problem, but I had to call continuously and threaten to contact the BBB to get them out here two weeks after the problem occured.) Instead of running the system under the wall between our laundry room and garage they took the lazy way out and didn't connect the two parts thus causing water to not flow freely to the sump pump. Water backed up in other parts of the system and essentially spilled out onto our floor through the ports Baker's installed in our floor. We spent $12,000 remodeling a basement office space that we now can't use. We paid out of pocket to have our basement office and laundry room tested for mold after we experienced the water in our "guaranteed for life dry basement". We lost furniture and rugs totaling $300. The big thing is that we lost our newly installed flooring and baseboards. The company claims that these are "personal" items and refuses to reimburse us (or point out where in the contract it states that flooring and baseboards are personal items and not structural). My attorney advised me that a lawsuit would be more expensive then simply replacing my damages, but I want to warn others to stay away from this company. They claim to be "experts in waterproofing", but they have been nothing but a headache since day one. Once they have your money they ignore you and do not take ownership for their mistakes. Did you know that they also install downspout systems to keep water away from your house at a fraction of the cost of one of their "fancy" systems? My house probably would have been better protected had I looked into something like that. Now I'll be paying off my system for the next seven years while trying to save up to replace what I've lost. Please do not do business with them. It all seems like a scam to me and I feel like a fool for inviting them into my home to help me create a better living space for my family.
I am very disappointed with the lack of availability this company offers for appointments. I was told that there are no appointments available after 4 and no Saturday appointments. I wasn't even given an option to schedule in August. I was given one appointment date and time for July, which didn't work for us.
Victor and his crew did an amazing job. The project was done in the allotted time. On the last day to make the deadline they stayed until 10 pm to finish. Thank you
Great team brought to us by Gavin, lead by Cale, and included: Shay, Terrance, Joey, Pat C, and Travis. They were always prompt, communicated clearly what the concerns were and how they were remediating those concerns, and always checked in to make sure we knew what was happening and if we had any concerns or questions. It meant a lot to them to respectfully work in and outside our home and wanting to leave it as best they could considering the amount of demo that had to occur. We’re very grateful to have our home safe especially this Summer with all of this rain. Highly knowledgeable, hardworking and professional.
Derek was very thorough and explained everything so that I could understand. He very much believes in the products he sells and the company!.
Had a great experience with Bakers Waterproofing. The guys did a great job! Huge thanks to Jory, Cale, Shay, and Joel for taking this tough job. Had a few kinks to get over but we are overall happy with the way it turned out, no water in the basement and no worry! Crazy before and after
Cale and Shay completed a crawl space encapsulation including drainage, sump pump, outside wall insulation, liner, air system to maintain humidity levels and spray for mold. Cale kept me informed of status of project and with other issues in crawl space, which will need my attention. Both Cale and Shay were very polite, courteous and respectful. I am very satisfied with their work.
I have a leaning brick porch pillar. Nathan was very patient and took the time to assess the issue. He recommended having the column rebuilt, which is something his company doesn’t do. I really appreciated his honest evaluation. I will contact Baker’s in the future if I have any other foundation issues. Thank you, Nathan!
Marcello with Bakers came to give us an estimate on a very severe crack we uncovered with all the storms lately. He was such a knowledgeable and friendly gentleman who definitely helped us figure out all of our options. Thanks again!
We had a great experience with Derek S. He was knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and made us comfortable.
Derek was fantastic! He arrived on time, was very friendly and pleasant, and truly listened to my concerns. He even contacted his manager for additional insight, showing real professionalism. Unlike other companies that tried to oversell me, Derek was honest and told me his company couldn't do the specific work I needed. He even came out on a Saturday to quote! I would definitely hire him again.
Derek came out to assess the moisture issues in my basement. He called ahead, showed up on time, and was very thorough and informative throughout the inspection process. I would certainly recommend Baker's Waterproofing and Derek
Bill Rose and Dylan Ashworth did an excellent job with installing additional french drain in our crawl space. They were fast, very professional, and polite to work with. They represented Baker's Waterproofing well.
Harrisburg Office Review. After waiting over a month for my appointment, the tech arrived only to tell me that he cant do any work, because of the light rain we are having. Rain was in our forecast for over a week .... why couldn't they just planned to reschedule me earlier this week. Lets see when they call me to reschedule and how much longer will have to wait.
My wife and I meet with Andrew Suttmiller about lifting our concrete patio. He arrived for our appointment on time, was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable about the process. He answered all of our questions and worked out a deal to get the work done within our time frame. I will advise others to contact Andrew or Baker's Waterproofing in the future.
Russell Bungard
Derek came out for our estimate, was on time, professional and fully explained the entire process. Answered all questions that we had. Looking forward to doing business with Baker’s waterproofing.
I had Baker’s assess some possible concrete movement on the side of my home that was causing a side door to temporarily stick. The evaluator was very personable and thorough. After some hours of taking laser measurements (though I am skeptical that this is very scientific), I was told that I had foundation movement that would require $30,000 worth of push-pier installation and he also recommended an additional $18,000 for waterproofing my crawlspace.
Other than the door occasionally sticking, there was very little evidence of foundation movement out of proportion to what you would expect for Southwest Pennsylvania.
I then paid for a second opinion by an independent structural engineer to come to my home. After an evaluation, he informed me that I did NOT have evidence of significant foundation movement. There were only hairline cracks in my brick which is relatively normal above a door. He recommended water remediation but said I did not need foundation work. I also had another waterproofing company out to my home who also said that I did not have significant evidence of foundation issues. Both the engineer and the other company said that Baker’s is over prescribing foundation work and also charging 1.5 times the expected cost.
If foundation work is recommended by this company for your home, I would highly recommend getting a second opinion.
If customers do not have basic understanding, they think their house will fall apart if they don’t have tens of thousands of dollars worth of work.
Update: ………
I received a courteous call from Baker’s general manager after he saw my review. He explained very clearly that Baker’s has to be very attentive to possible foundation issues because their company may be liable later if they do not properly address the foundation.
I understand this point of view even though I disagree. The reason for this review is to advise customers to do their research and always get an independent second opinion when possibly confronted with costly home repairs.
Extremely disappointed in the dishonesty of this company. I had fittings leak throughout my basement. I was told my drainage would be connected to an outside drain that is not happening. Now I’m being told to hire a plumber with a scope to see where the block is, when in reality this should have been done from the start instead of them saying it was good to go. Trees don’t grow many roots from mid August to spring. Another company told me I shouldn’t do this from the start. I should have gone with them instead of listening to the liars from Bakers. Now the joke is on me since I’ve invested 24k in their system, and get this kind of treatment. On top of that, I’ve had to miss time from work, to deal with this major flaw. Run… don’t let the name sell you like we did, unless you want to have water issues continue to be an issue in your home, miss time from work to deal with a bunch of people pointing their fighters at you, or have your yard all dug up again. Run like the wind and go with their competitors, as least you can trust them!
I can’t say enough positive things about our experience with Baker’s Waterproofing!
Marty came to our house to evaluate the job and he explained everything so well. The main office staff was amazing and fit the work into their schedule quickly within a week! To top it off, the three-man crew that arrived was professional, efficient, and so kind!
Cale, Shay, and Joel allowed my three young children (ages 7 and 5) to come downstairs and they explained what they were doing to help fix our basement. They shared freezer pops and it was just such a special moment! It’s something the kids will never forget.
Then, when my youngest put his foot in the concrete as it was drying ♀️, Cale handled it like a champ. He just quickly fixed the spot while I cleaned off my son’s foot. This crew even handled a curve ball with ease. These three are true professionals!!
Thank you so much!! We are so happy with the end result.
I just recently had my garage and basement foundation repaired by Baker’s Waterproofing and wanted to share what an amazing job they did. The previous owner of my home went with different local company, and I had the worst time with that company, they always had their phone line disconnected because they were avoiding having to service customer warranties…. It was a night and day difference when after calling around I finally started speaking with Baker’s Waterproofing.
I prefer to have people work on my home who aren’t just trying to look after their bottom dollar and try to sell me on something cheap and easy, so Baker’s immediately stood out to me when Bryce showed up and talked to me for a long time while he worked on detailed diagnostics of my home. He worked well with my financial situation while also making sure I was aware of long term viability of each option. I went with a bigger more solid solution knowing full well the massive scope of work it would entail.
A month later Xander, Tay, and Terry showed up with all of their heavy duty equipment. They were extremely courteous and went above and beyond helping me clear space and handled my possessions with care even though I’d agreed to clear the space myself before they got here. Other contractors would have rescheduled and told me I needed to clear more space for them, but they rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
I was extremely impressed with their work ethic and level of communication with me. They worked hard all week long with very little breaks and were always careful not to disturb my family in the process despite all of the lid heavy duty equipment. They never once let any challenge get in their way and they did everything to make sure I had the most solid and stable solution for my garage and basement wall stability with anchors and girders in place in a way they said they’d have done for their own homes.
They even assisted with cleanup and waste disposal and redid the concrete and got everything looking nice before they left. The warranty was clearly explained and measures were put in place to ensure I’d be able to have the warranty serviced without issue. I truly can’t thank the whole team at Baker’s Waterproofing enough for all of their hard work and dedication in repairing my home!
We had our dirt crawl space encapsulated and re-insulated. It was a tight messy space and now it's amazing and dry and our first floor is so much warmer. Cale, Shay, and Joel were super professional and did an awesome job.
The dirty pic is before, other two are after. Looks amazing. Couldn't be happier.
Jesse was out here the other day. Wow did he do a thorough inspection and really helped. He was generally concerned about my issues took his time to explain what was going on, what may or may be happening and what he could or couldn't do to help. Thank you very much for your time Jesse.
The men who were assigned to my project, Lukas Selleck, Dean Hollenbach, Colby Scott and Anthony Rotolo, did a fantastic job.
The project was completed to match my expectations and done in just a couple hours longer than the amount of time that was anticipated. The work being done was very loud, as expected with the jackhammer, but the workers themselves were not. They communicated professionally and courteously. I had no unanswered questions and have zero negative things to say. 5/5.
If you consider a bid from Baker’s I BEG you to get some other bids. I can’t speak to the quality of their work but my buyer got a bid from them for a repair. The scope of work proposed and the cost were way out of line with the actual problem based on common sense. When asked about it, Baker’s stood firm that this was the repair needed. The structural engineer disagrees entirely and I’ll take his word over Baker’s. The actual repair needed will be about 1/3 of the cost of what Baker’s bid. In calling around, I understand Baker’s has a history of over bidding the amount of work needed as well as the cost. Based on the bid the buyer got, the engineer said they are charging 50% more than the going rate for a pier. Very unsavory business practices. Definitely trying to take advantage of people using fear.
Baker’s reply is a total joke. Do you actually think I’d give you another chance at the bid given how badly you’ve tried to rip off my buyers? I’m truly shocked you have positive reviews. I’ve spoken to more people in that area who deal with that kind of work since my original post who have reiterated your poor reputation. I have no intention of ever dealing with your company and reiterate that I hope anyone thinking of getting a bid from you gets other bids from other companies.
Grossly over promised and under delivered. Close to a 6 month ordeal and ended up refunding my deposit and left the porch looking worse than when they started. Their workers weren’t supported with the right equipment and after two different days working on it they wanted to tear bricks off which would have been repaired at my cost. No give on Bakers part to live up to the contract. Terrible company, don’t do business with them!
They did an amazing job on my Pops basement. He said that the crew did everything they were hired to do and go everything accomplished in a timely manner. Victor Cruz and Miguel Deontae are the absolute best!!!!
4.8 because you would not believe perfect every thing said was done as far as money and time in house what would done even found problem for so thank you guys. The crew with Victor Cruz , Miguel, Deontae thanks you great work
Brock and his team were excellent! They did outstanding work, kept us updated throughout the process, and were very respectful and professional
I had a problem with a basement wall pushing in… Called Baker’s Waterproofing and they sent out Brad Peterson to give us an estimate on the job. Surprisingly, they had a crew here the very next day. Cale, Joel, Shay, and Will did a fantastic job inside and out. They dug a 4 foot trench and mounted six wall anchors along the problem wall. They were all polite and professional, and did a great cleanup job before leaving. If you have any type of basement problem, Baker’s is the way to go.
Derek was very professional dealing with my water issues. Excellent job describing system and the best way to handle the problems.
Did an awesome job on one of our investment properties! Definitely recommend and they have a top tier warranty with the follow up maintenance service! Would recommend them to anyone of my friends or family or someone just needing a legit company that operates with integrity!
Had Bakers complete our basement waterproofing in 2024 and was happy with the work then but am even happier now that it’s been a year of a dry basement. Don completed the first yearly maintenance today and was kind, professional, and efficient. 10/10 would recommend Don and Bakers.
They came, they saw, they conquered my crawl space!
Bob was awesome—super friendly, professional, and quick to respond. The guys were polite & worked efficiently. It was a tight squeeze. It wasn’t the cheapest option, but the work was top quality and totally worth it. The financing made it easy, too. What a relief to have the crawl space encapsulated knowing that the humidity & air will be controlled.
Highly recommend Baker’s Waterproofing!
We recently had Matt, Casey and Chikar do a big job at our home. The young men were efficient and proficient at their work. Always prompt to arrive and kept in constant communication with us throughout the job. We are very pleased with the results. They were very respectful in their manner. When the job was complete the area was cleaned and put back together.
Tyler, Joey, & Jay did a wonderful job explaining & weighing options when my house did not cooperate with the original plan, and clean up we unremarkable I could hardly tell they dug up my yard. Haley in the office is thorough in reviewing finance options & expedited my start date. Gavin did an excellent job demonstrating the scope of services and what to expect. Great experience throughout.
Wendell W. came to look at my water issue. He did an excellent job of explaining what needed to be done to correct it. Cale, Shay and Joel came to start the waterproofing project and discovered that the back wall of my house was bowing. Martin came to evaluate what needed done. The team stabilized my back wall and also did the interior work to fix the water issue. Installing the stabilizing bars wasn't easy due to so much rock. The guys worked very hard (they had to rent another machine) and got the job done in one day!! The guys cleaned up the inside and left the outside looking great!! I look forward to seeing the system do its job. I would recommend Bakers Waterproofing! Thanks
Great experience, Marcello was kind understanding, and informative of everything I needed.
I would recommend them to anyone who needed their services. Besides the kindness their people showed me.
Clifford Mitchell and Bill Rose from Baker’s waterproofing grounfworks company did a wonderful job on our installation. They were prompt, professional, and completed the job quickly. They left the space clean and explained the work done. They answered all of my questions. Thank you! Would definitely recommend.
We hired Bakers to waterproof our basement. They put in French drains and a new sump pump. Victor, Miguel, and Joel were great and very communicative throughout the process. Totally recommend them!
I am very pleased with the work that Cale, Shay, and Joel from Baker's Waterproofing did in my basement. I appreciated the phone call when they were on their way and was kept updated with the process throughout the day. They did a great job cleaning up and making sure any questions were answered. They each get 5 stars!
Inspector Bob Liga came out and reviewed my situation and provided the best advice possible thus far. He included more information than asked for or expected. Compared to Keystone who suggested a $51,000 job including helical piers, his recommendation was more efficient and effective towards a professional solution to my specific issue. Thanks Bob
Had Aaron Lenker and Corbin Gillenbauer come and level our sidewalk in the rear of our house. They were on time and very friendly and professional. Got to work and explained everything they were doing as they did it. Would recommend them for any of the jobs at our house.
This company was amazing from start to finish. The workers were very professional, made sure everything was cleaned up and explained everything to us before they they left. We had Chris H, Jarred M and Zach G working on our basement and we would highly recommend them!
The Baker’s Waterproofing team provided excellent service in addressing my basement issue. Chris H., Zach G., and Henry M. were extremely professional and easy to deal with. Would highly recommend for any basement moisture issues.
The entire process from the estimate to finishing the job was extremely convient and easy. The workers, Aaron Lenker & Corbin Gillichbauer, were timely, friendly and professional. They were able to answer all of my questions. They kept the work area safe and post work cleanup was great. Good job to all
Would not recommend, have worse issue now then when they started. Want more money to come fix what never got fixed in the first place. I've had call backs (going on 6 months), they did come and try to help, but put jacks and beams 3 feet away from where it needed to be. So if you want to waste some money, call them.
We noticed water damage on a basement wall. I called a trusted contractor who gave us the highest recommendation for this company. They worked with my crazy schedule to find a date that worked for Steve to come give the estimate. Cale, TySean, Greg, Shay, Geovanni, and Joel did great work. On time, worked efficiently, explained everything, let me ask a zillion questions! :)
Horrible. Do not use!!!! They installed an interior french drain years ago. Unbeknownst to me at the time, they installed the sump pump incorrectly by plugging it into an extension cord and then into an outlet which was turned on by a light switch. I wouldn't find out that it was installed incorrectly until this past summer when we had some large rainstorms.
Last year, I started to get water in another part of the basement. I had them come back out to put a tie in to the pre-existing drainage system. During the install they discovered mold on the back side of the drywall. So I had them install the vapor barrier. They destroyed the drywall surrounding the area where the vapor barrier was installed. They also damaged the drop ceiling track. At a couple spots, they took a hammer to the drywall.
Several weeks later, we had a large storm. Well since I didn't turn the light switch on, the sump pump didn't turn on and flooded the basement. This destroyed my carpet.
At the time of the install, I wasn't aware that the way they were installing it was not to industry standard. I trusted them to install it properly. I'm not an electrician, nor am I a water remediation expert. They could have highly recommended I get a dedicated outlet before the install. They didn't and I trusted they were doing the proper install.
I called to make them aware, and they refused to help me at least get a new carpet. The manager said that I didn't honor the contract by providing a dedicated outlet. Well, they didn't honor the contract by installing it to industry standards.
I would not recommend them to anyone. Horrible customer service and a business model that lacks integrity and character.
Had to replace 6 support posts in the basement and repair/treat a structural beam. The estimator was great to work with, and the team that came out to do the repairs was courteous, prompt and did a great job. Thanks to Cale, Shay and Greg for their hard work.
Aaron Lenker and Corbin Gillichbauer arrived on time, completed the job in the expected number of hours. Multiple sidewalk sections raised back into place, work area cleaned. Handled an unanticipated joint repair very professionally. Very happy with the results!
We just had Bakers out to waterproof our entire basement and had the best experience all around! Gavin M came out for the estimate, and he was extremely through and considered every detail! He was very kind and walked us through every step of the process. We felt so confident from go that they were going to take care of us. Tyler and his crew were on our job, and they were also amazing. They worked so hard for two days to get the job done in a timely and correct manner. We can't say enough things about not only the employees but the products they offer. We have been in our house for 10 years and have always had a wet basement but now we are able to use it for living space and we are so happy with the whole experience! 10/10 would recommend!
We have a system that is warrantied and have been trying to get service since October 2024. Today is February 7, 2025. The service tech showed up two hours late last week without a solution for the flooding yard. Since that time the sump pump itself failed giving off a loud pitch sound causing a great deal of distress for the residents. Bakers indicated the next time they can return is February 28th.
I had contacted Bakers because of some issues we had with water in the basement. They had sent over Cale, Shay, and Greg. They were all very thorough and explained everything that would be happening. They kept me informed throughout the process and were able to resolve the issues I was experiencing. They did an amazing job, and I would highly recommend this company if you need some water proofing done!
Please do your research! Beware of their lack of expertise, poor communication, and failure to perform work.
We engaged Baker as they are widely advertised throughout Pittsburgh. They sent a sale rep to review work that needed to be done for a house we wanted to buy. There were clear foundation issues that needed to be address (large visible crack in our foundation). The salesman quoted us a scope of work and we provided a deposit to get on their schedule. We waited almost two months for our work to be performed before Bakers called us THE WEEK BEFORE work was to completed to let us know that they could not perform the work. They further said they didn't even do that type of work (their website clearly says they perform foundation repair). We were totally baffled and frankly shocked that they kept our $1,200 in deposit, kept us on the hook for almost two months, and then just dropped us. Unfortunately, their estimate they provided (which we used to negotiate off our purchase) ended up only to be a fraction of what the work actually ended costing.
Please avoid this company. Poor communication and we question their expertise. We ended up calling a direct competitor to Bakers and they came over, accurately identified the issue, and completed the work. The only reason I did not give a single star was because a manager ended up calling me to see if they could look at the issue himself and then could refer us to a mason (we did not need a mason). He only called because he didn't want us leaving a bad review - which he admitted.
Just had Marshall Boyles inspect my sump pump that the company installed in my home in 2021. I would like to commend Marshall for his terrific work ethic. He is the first employee that really answered my questions in a clear and concise manner. He tightened wall anchors with care managing not to scratch my recently painted game room. He took time to clean the outside of the pump area. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you Marshall for a job well done!
From initial consult to the completed project, the whole process was fantastic. When my basement walls started leaking through cracks, I would have never imagined I would be saying such a thing. Baker’s Waterproofing took the time to explain everything to me. I felt extremely comfortable and well informed through every step. Based on all the estimates I got, they are reasonably priced. The team that came to do the job worked diligently and went above and beyond in my opinion. Highly recommend them to everyone!
Horribly overpriced, shoddy work, refused to come back to fix the myriad of issues they caused. Used them years ago and had a great experience. This time the employees came late, left early and had some choice words about their management when here. They were extremely underqualified to be doing skilled labor, we ended up having to call an attorney to recoop damages. Call anyone else, don't even bother with bakers because it's just another "service" that's gone to the dogs. Zero stars
From the first inspection and estimate, through my numerous questions regarding the wall anchor installation and foundation stability, and through project completion, Baker’s provided the most outstanding and professional service I’ve received in any home project I have had undertaken. Brad did a brilliant job offering initial advice concerning repair options and financing. Afterward, Charlie and his team did outstanding work in installation, respecting our property while improving it immensely. Their patience, attention to detail, and courtesy is unparalleled in my experience.
These technicians are fantastic. John Beck you’re are a lifesaver. He fit us right into his schedule no delays. Cleaned up the work area, troubleshot the problem and got us up and running with a new sump pump. Excellent Job! 10 out of 10! Thanks John!
Marshall performed an inspection and noticed a few issues, he explained the process of his work before starting, kept well informed with arrival times. 10/10. Go with Marshall.
Dealing with structural issues is such a stressful ordeal, but all the gentlemen we dealt with at Baker's made it so much easier. Bradley Peterson was always available to answer questions and gladly came back more than once to make sure we were comfortable with his proposal and the finished product. The crew that performed the work were terrific. They showed up early and left late. They communicated about everything and best of all was their attitude. Every day for a week these men climbed under our house into a very tiny space and I heard hard work accompanied by laughter throughout the day. I never heard a comment that was negative in any way and they were always smiling. Tysean Lacks, Brennan Cole and Geovanni Medina have the best attitudes and work ethic! Any of these friendly and professional men are welcome at my home anytime. In fact, we intend to request the exact same crew for our work in the future. Thanks guys!
Had Baker's come out to give me a quote on what was described to me as a "situation that needs immediate attention" only to never actually get a quote from them. I had some shifting alongside an exterior wall on my home and was looking to have work done as soon as possible. I had two "big box" companies come out, Bakers being the second, and after going over the issues and being told that I would need to have work done sooner rather than later and I would get a quote within 24 hours, it's roughly a month later and I have yet to hear back from anyone. I may not have had any work done from them, which is why I didn't give 1 star but, incredibly unprofessional on all accounts.
Colson, Norm, and Travis installed a basement gutter and pump system in my home today. They were on time, very polite and professional, and got the job done in a good time and it looks exactly as advertised.
Basement waterproofing project was completed ahead of schedule and met all expectations. Cale, Shay, and Brandon left the work area cleaner than it was when they arrived. Would definitely recommend.
This review is for any single, female, homeowner that needs work done and are looking for an honest company. Trust Bakers.
I had Bob Liga come to give me an estimate on my cracked, sunken patio, he let me know they could try to do it but it wouldn't be pretty and I may not get the results I wanted. I wanted to try anyway. We booked.
Bob called and said I was assigned a foreman named Hayden and he thought that was the best foreman for the job.
The day of my appointment arrived, bad weather hit. They went out of their way to reschedule me for the weekend. No worries.
The day came. Hayden arrived and let me know if he did the job I would be wasting my money and that I should just put the funds towards getting a new patio....in a nice way.
When Bob did his inspection my patio was decorated with chairs, rugs, Halloween decorations and things. I had it emptied for the job. So, he could not accurately assess. Not his fault!
I'm very happy with the services I ended up not receiving from this company due to their honesty and ethics. Customer service was also great. Communication was great.
If I ever have a need in the future (I probably will, my house is 107yrs old) I will not hesitate to contact Bakers Waterproofing. You shouldn't hesitate to contact them either!
The team assigned to my project delivered exceptional results and truly exceeded my expectations. The encapsulation crew—Tysean Lacks, Brennan Cole, and Geovanni Medina—demonstrated exceptional diligence and professionalism, completing the project to a standard that went above and beyond what I anticipated.
While the work quality was outstanding, the company’s handling of procedural errors leaves room for improvement. Specifically, when a mistake occurred during the house jacking process—where one jack was omitted from the initial cost estimate—I was disappointed by the company’s approach to resolving the issue. Rather than absorbing the cost of their oversight, they attempted to pass the additional expense onto me, even threatening to cancel the project when I objected. Considering the premium pricing of their services, which often exceeds industry standards, such situations should not arise.
To their credit, the company ultimately reduced the additional cost as a resolution, but homeowners investing significant sums—ranging from tens of thousands to six figures—should not bear the burden of internal errors. Overall, while the work itself was exemplary, I encourage the company to re-evaluate its policies for addressing and resolving procedural missteps to better align with the level of service their pricing suggests. That said, based on the overall performance and the final product they delivered, I would highly recommend them.
We recently had the pleasure of working with Bob Liga at Baker’s Waterproofing, and I can confidently say he’s exceptional! Bob is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain every detail of the process, ensuring we felt confident and informed. His professionalism and friendly demeanor made the experience seamless and stress-free. I’m looking forward to doing business with Baker’s Pittsburgh branch thanks to Bob’s excellent service. Highly recommend!
Bob was excellent, Professional, and informative.
After his thorough structural inspection of our home, he pointed out cracks that we were unaware of, and remarked on causes of the damage that we were concerned about. My kids heard him talking about “cracks” in our house, and said they didn’t know they “we are living in a crack house”.
I laughed so hard, I had to pee. Bob was truly impressive with his structural engineering knowledge and well organized presentation.
I am excited to get started our our project and look forward to working with Bob as our project manager.
Bakers Waterproofing was wonderful and professional from start to finish. Bob Liga and Josh Creamer both went above and beyond to make sure our driveway project was done in a timely manner. Bob is exceptional at being in contact before, during and after the project. We never felt alone if we had questions. Josh’s work is second to none! He even took the time to play with our dogs when he was finished. I can recommend Bakers Waterproofing without any hesitation!
Had an incredible experience with Jacob Flautt, Jim Clark, Shemar Turner, and Derek Lofink. My basement is now dry. I feel confident I’ve invested my money into a business I can trust, that’s reputable, that will support the future health and safety of my home. After getting quotes from other businesses, Baker’s proved to be the right choice. From the initial consult with the superb Jacob F. to the final result, I knew I was in good hands. Other businesses tried to scare me into choosing them. Baker’s used kindness and expertise instead. What a difference that makes. I look forward to working with them in the future to as they service my waterproofing system.
Update- 2025- I’ve been working with Baker’s for years now and am so grateful for their wonderful customer service. Most recently I worked with Donald and he was absolutely wonderful and helping.
