These guys were great. They came out explained what was needed. If we did not understand what they were saying, they broke it down to make it easier to understand. Quick, prompt, friendly, and thorough.

Atom Builders replaced my roof. The ultimate job was significantly larger than we originally estimated. Nevertheless, Atom completed everything in a highly professional manner. My new roof looks great and should last for the next 50 years. I am completely satisfied with George and his team.

I had a great experience working with Atom Builders. Luca came out to provide an estimate, and we immediately clicked. He’s a genuinely nice, down-to-earth person and very professional. He arrived prepared with a folder containing all the relevant license and insurance information, which gave me immediate confidence in the company.

I received the detailed estimate via email the very next day, and we were able to schedule the job quickly. The entire process was smooth from start to finish. The roof was completed on time, and the crew left everything spotless afterward.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Arthur, who was equally professional. Throughout the project, Luca remained responsive and easy to reach by text, always answering any questions I had with clear communication.

I’m writing this to help others avoid the serious health and safety issues my family—and several others—faced due to Atom Builders.

They were hired to re-roof our 1920s apartment building in Santa Ana. Despite clear weather forecasts days in advance, they left the roof exposed during a storm. The result: extensive flooding, collapsing ceilings, soaked walls, and mold growth throughout the building.

Rather than address the situation responsibly, they began demolition work without pulling permits or conducting any required lead or asbestos testing, even though the building clearly contained original materials. When questioned, they repeatedly minimized the risks, told tenants to “open windows,” and claimed mold takes 3–6 months to form—contrary to all public health guidance.

They then sent someone claiming to be a mold technician who turned out to be unlicensed and affiliated with the company—a clear conflict of interest. This person used a phone app to “inspect” the unit and promised licensing info he never provided. When the city was contacted, they confirmed no permits had been pulled and ordered Atom Builders to immediately stop all work.

Only after this were proper environmental tests done, and those revealed lead paint—something both the landlord and Atom had denied.

Our family (including a 1-year-old) was displaced and forced to pay over $5,000 for temporary housing, which we were only reimbursed for after legal pressure. Other residents incurred debt they’re still dealing with.

When we returned, we found our apartment still visibly damaged: swollen walls, paint sloppily applied over outlets and furniture, lead dust in crevices, and our personal supplies used without permission. This was not professional remediation—it was patchwork.

I’m not writing this out of emotion or frustration. I work in construction as a designer and engineer. I know the codes, the responsibilities, and the risks. This was not an isolated miscommunication or a tenant “being difficult.” This was systemic negligence that endangered multiple families.

If you’re a homeowner, property manager, or contractor considering Atom Builders, I strongly recommend asking very specific questions about permits, testing, and safety—because in our case, those were ignored until outside authorities got involved.

they’ve started burying critical reviews and turned off Instagram comments altogether. That alone should be a huge red flag.

I’m writing this review as the property owner of a 1920’s apartment building in Santa Ana. We hired Atom Builders for a full roofing project on our flat roof, and I can confidently say they delivered outstanding service from start to finish.

During our course of the project we were unexpectedly hit with rain and strong winds which caused the protective tarp to shift and resulted in a leak, as soon as Atom Builders was notified their team responded immediately! They sent out a full crew to assess and address the issue without any delays.

What truly stood out was their commitment to making things right. Without hesitation, they offered and provided AirBnBs for the affected tenants to ensure minimal disruption and offered full reimbursement for any damaged belongings. Beyond that they even repaired pre-existing issues in the units going well above and beyond the original scope of work.

I was in direct contact with John, one of their managers who kept me informed throughout the entire process. His communication was consistent, professional and reassuring. John genuinely cared and made sure everything was handled smoothly.

Having worked with several contractors in the past, I can honestly say no other company has shown the level of initiative, integrity and customer service that Atom Builders has! Despite the unexpected weather, my wife and I felt confident and reassured knowing we were in great hands.

Estimate was given on Friday work began on Saturday, Monday materials arrived and work was completed Tuesday. Very good crew, salesman Art was phenomenal. Arthur was great as well. Very happy with the results.

We had such a great experience with this company. They are patient, caring, and understanding. They really tried their best to work with us on finances and what we could afford. They were honest and showed us where the problems were on our roof and what the best steps were to fix it. We needed an air conditioner too and they were able to help us get that also. I would recommend them to everyone.

This company was great, they did a great job on the rood and I couldn't be happier. Mike, Sam and George were so helpful and attentive to my needs. They took care of me like my own grandson would, seriously. I'm an old lady and I can't move like I used or carry anything heavy, but Mike Sam and George helped around the house, moved some heavy stuff and even fixed a couple things for me. I'm very happy with everything overall and it all went smoothly, great pricing as well, I was comfortable with it and it made sense. 10/10

We selected Atom Builders to completely replace our old roof. The work was done with care and in a timely manner with good communication throughout and we passed inspection. We found the Atom Builders team to be a very hard working group of professional and workers.

Extremely unorganized, and unprofessional. The first time I scheduled appointment they insisted to come out in the rain, despite my concern for their safety! Then the rep, Tony came without the drone saying it was damaged and getting repaired and said we were correct that it wasn't safe to go on the roof for inspection. Waste of time! So, I called/messaged him as well as the main office and they were to come out today! They left me hanging and didn't show up! When I asked what happened, the rep said he wasn't notified about it. So i called the main office and spoke with Chris who passed me to Edward and he said he was sorry that there was a minimum $2500 cost. My response was so what? You haven't even looked at the roof and you don't know if it meets it or exceeds it! They wasted 2 days of my life that I can't get back!!!! Good Luck, and God bless

Recent vrry high winds damaged my roof with many shingles torn off. I contacted Atom Builders through a reference. Service was prompt, professional, and of high quality. Overall very pleased with my experience. It was explained and shown to me that due to the age of my roof, the shingles failed and flew off. When I replace it I will use this company.
