My mother and I had to fix her interior door handle (BMW 335i xdrive). I had replaced one in the past , myself, and thought I could replace this one. It turned out to be more complicated than expected so we dropped by Atlantic without an appointment and I asked if they had time to replace her handle. Dan came out and checked it out and asked us a few questions and promptly took us in. While we were waiting he continued to check in with us on the status of the repair. We will absolutely be coming back and getting our repairs done at Atlantic. Thanks so much for your excellent service and willingness to help even though we didn’t have an appointment! We lucked out.

Had a great experience, got me in within one day of calling. This was also a couple days before the long weekend of 4th of July and they got me my car back before Friday which was super awesome. They reached out to me with everything that could be fixed before doing anything and when I gave the go ahead they got everything done within the day. Will absolutely be taking my vehicle to them from now on.

Wonderful experience—kept me informed of progress, estimated expense, but most of all took the car in as an emergency case since the moon roof would not close and rain was predicted.

Bruce & Team are exceptional - courteous, knowledgeable and superior automotive skills. They keep my JEEP Wrangler in tip top shape as I always feel like it is showroom new when I drive away.

Clearly diagnosed 4 key issues and gave us sufficient detail to enable us to decide whether to trade the vehicle in or fix the issues. We ultimately decided to address the issues as the car is in otherwise very good condition for it’s age and mileage.

Bruce was great at keeping me updated on the status of my car and made sure the insurance company received all the necessary information. Everyone one we dealt with was extremely helpful and great to work with! My car feels brand new!

I have been struggling to find a reliable and knowledgeable person or garage to work on my mini for over 10 years. On more than one occasion my Mini has been left more broken than it went in, so I'm nervous when I need to have it serviced.
On the recommendation of a friend, I visited Atlantic motor car. They were honest, thorough, but most of all very caring and thoughtful. The owner was worried about further potential damage to my car if I continued to drive it, so he insisted I use a loaner, especially since I have a young child. (He and the whole office treated her like royalty, finding her toys, snacks, and the opportunity to watch the cars being worked on through the window.) I had gotten two estimates from other garages assuring me I needed a new clutch, but the team in Atlantic verified that I, in fact, didn't! I appreciated their honesty, and the warmth with which they treated me and my daughter. I feel the owner, Bruce, treated me like he would one of his own daughters. I will definitely be visiting them again.

Overpriced poor workmanship. They sold me on acquiring another credit card then proceeded to over charge me for shadetree quality repairs that I ended up fixing my self anyway. They were kind enough to send good quality brownies for doing business with them... I will never be back nor recommend them. I would ship my car out of state first. I have over 20 years of automotive experience. I used them out of convenience as I was very busy at the time and they had loaner cars.... I should have done the repairs myself and simply told my family I was going to be absent.

I was traveling in my mercedes sprinter van. while traveling my engine light css was me on I called them and they could take me the next day. they were polite friendly and were very helpful and professional. They fixed my problem and were honest with me that my engine light may come back on being a bad dpf filter but they were not sure if that was the case because they took the time and did some testing and it was not showing at the time it was the filter but did tell me when driving over a 100 miles it may come back on. They didn’t want to change it because it would cost me over 2000.00. So instead they wanted to see if they fixed it by narrowing it down to changing the filter and if I need it to be changed bring it to your dealer and it would probably be covered under warranty. Not many car repair shops would tell you that. also he assured me if it did go on again that it would be safe to finish up my trip. They also found a couple of other things that needed to be replaced so I had them do that.

I would bring my vehicle back in a heartbeat if I was in the area . Highly recommend

AMC has proven worthy of our trust. We use our LR4 as a tow vehicle for our 5000 lb camper trailer. Everything MUST work correctly. They understand our needs and respect our priorities. The LR4 is the right vehicle for us. They provide the right service at the right price.

I was driving from RI to Maine when my Mercedes dashboard light came on indicating I needed AdBlue and only had 16 starts remaining. (Yes, I know it was long over due!) I googled where I could go in Maine to get this done and Atlantic Motor Car Center came up. I called and was warmly greeted and told I could come right in on my way into Wiscasset. I stopped and they got my car right in and it was done and ready to go in less than a half hour. They were so kind, friendly and knowledgeable.

Called for second opinion related to an expensive air conditioning repair bill from dealership. Bruce looked up the part cost and without diagnostics recommended moving ahead with current situation. This information was so reassuring and I appreciate his honesty.

Good repair shop for imports. They are thorough and provide information via text as to the status of repairs. Cost a little more but you walk away with the assurance the work was done well.

Atlantic Motorcar Center was great with my BMW. Rick reached out consistently and answered any question when I reached out. They did great work on my vehicle fixing an issue I was fighting with for 4-6 months in just a day. They were very pleasant and professional! My car received careful attention. It is a high mileage car and the team at Atlantic Motorcar knows the model well. I credit them for keeping it safely on the road and performing as it should.

I had my 2020 MB Sprinter van towed to Atlantic Motorcar (in limp mode) based on their strong reputation. They performed the Schedule B service I requested and, more importantly, diagnosed the major issue: a clogged DPF. They informed me that the clogged DPF should be covered under the MB warranty. Bruce asked for my permission and then coordinated the entire thing with MB Scarborough, communicated directly with the dealership, and ensured the repair was completed under warranty. After MB Scarborough finished, they picked up my van and did a final check to confirm everything was in order.

While good work at a fair price is essential, what truly earns my 5-star rating is the exceptional communication from Bruce and Dan. They kept me informed throughout the entire process, including the status of their diagnostics and work they were doing, and then with MB Scarborough and communicating the dealership's progress completing the repair. I truly appreciate that transparency and dedication. Thank you, Atlantic Motorcar—I won’t hesitate to bring my van back again but until then, looking forward to getting back on the road!

I was driving from CT to Richmond Maine and about 20 miles from my destination my power steering gave out on my Mercedes e320 wagon when a pulley broke and the serpentine fell off 20 miles from my destination. I called triple a and discovered my phone had no bars and I didn't have a charger.I called my cousin and she started calling around and found Atlantic motorcar. The service manager Bruce new before I did what the problem was and said he had the parts.he was right about both and unlike most shops had the parts got me in and sent me off for a very reasonable price. We have three Mercedes and as we relocate in the next couple of years they will be our choice for maintainance and repairs.thank you for a job well done!

I had an excellent experience with Atlantic Motorcar. They kept in constant
communication about the status of repairs and did not oversell extra services. Unfortunately, through no fault of their, a part failed after the service was complete. The service team was very accountable in arranging for the repair and getting a warranty refund for the part. Excellent service!

Atlantic Motorcar has been an enjoyable experience. After my first visit I have become 'family', like Cheers, everybody knows your name. The different repairs I have had done was top notch.

Bought a used mini that needed some updated maintenance. Atlantic researched what was done and what was needed. Gave me an estimate of the work and promptly and efficiently set my mini up for success going forward. Few months later after I hit a curb they figured out what was wrong gave me pictures of the damage they found and even video explaining the importance of the parts involved and another quick and accurate estimate for the work. When the repair went long they offered me a loaner vehicular at no charge. Bruce and his team really helped me out in a pinch!!! I had just dumped a bunch of $$$ at my dealership in NYC before coming up here for the holidays. Then a day before I had to leave, the check engine light and DPF light came on.

They fit me in same day and diagnosed and repaired the issue that day so I could get home the next.

I called these guys and asked them 1 question, "what is your hourly rate?" My car wasn't running so of course I wanted an idea of how much I would be paying before it was towed in. They REFUSED to provide it. State law requires that their hourly rate be divulged. Chapter 11 of maine consumer rights when repairing a car. Maybe they feel that they're in a legal gray area when dealing with a customer on the phone rather than in their shop, and don't need to follow the law in that case. If that's true, then this company is willing to potentially break the law so that they can arbitrarily charger one customer more for a job than the next. That's not a company I'd do business with.

Been doing business with Atlantic Motorcar since 2010. Great folks. Very knowledgeable, thorough and trustworthy. Just brought a pre-owned car I was looking to purchase to them for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. Report was very detailed and comprehensive. From past experience with Bruce, Rick and crew I knew it could be trusted and bought the car.

I scheduled work for my van. It was done in a timely fashion at the price that was quoted, and they kept me informed all the way along.

In a world where sometimes integrity is lacking, I am very grateful to have had the experience I did with Bruce at Atlantic Motor Car. He went above and beyond to help me with a situation where an oil change with another company rendered my engine useless. He had my back and advocated for me when it took so much of his unpaid time to do so. He is fair- minded, generous and authentic. I hope that this review encourages people to throw their business his way.

Left mirror safety sensor (little triangle) went bad over 1.5 years ago. Said it could not be fixed as the part needs to fix it was unavailable nationwide. Never heard back do I called every 3 months. Said the part was still not available and that I should stop calling. Brought it in for regular service and they said the part had shown up but would cost $2000 to fix it. I said never mind. Just go the service. I got the car back (they did not replace the part) but the sensor worked!!! Obviously their analysis was totally wrong and they had clearly just pushed a wire back into place or simply reset the computer which was all it ever needed. Plus got a second opinion from another mechanic who quoted all repairs that Atlantic wanted to do for 25-50% less. Check reviews, I am not alone in mentioning inflated and outrageous repair work pricing which took me a few years to figure out. Won’t be going back.

I took the recommendation from other Mercedes owners in my area, and went to Atlantic Motorcar for service. From the very first call, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They kept me informed every step of the way, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating on drop off and pick up. Truly an excellent customer service experience. And the work they did on the car was great as well! I would highly recommend them.

I had my SmartCar towed to AMC when it failed to start because the car is actually a Mercedes creation. Servicing the car is problematic b/c it is no longer marketed. The only key I had was not recognized by the auth system and they had to contact Germany to get spares and get assistance from a dealer in Quebec to program them. Then they found that another module had burned out ... and found a replacement for that. Then they traced the wiring and found that the starter ground line had corroded off and the wire shorted out causing the whole series of events.
AMC continued working on the problem when other dealers would have given up on a solution especially considering the lack of dealer support and end of life of that make of vehicle. Great perseverance to get the car running again!

Exceptional service and attention to detail. Went above and beyond for my Maserati quattroprte. The kind of service I would of expected from the Ferrari dealership, but Atlantic blew them out of the water. Many thanks to Bruce and the team over here. I will be back with confidence.

I had a flat tire on a busy road. I called AAA and Atlantic motors to get my self oriented to what to do. The guys at Atlantic were s comforting. They gave me advice within two days I had a new tire. A pot hole had blown out the tire so it couldn't be fixed. Atlantic had recommended I get tire insurance of $11.00 when I bought the tire. So this new one was FREE. I am grateful beyond words for the support and caring that Atlantic Motors provides .

The team at Atlantic Motorcar were great to work with and they took the time to explain the issues found regarding my Rover and made the needed repairs in a timely manner. I have never had a bad experience with the Atlantic Motorcar team and will surely have them work on my vehicle again.

The friendly and professional people of Atlantic Motorcar performed scheduled service/maintenance on my Mercedes-Benz E400 coupe’s transmission and brake system in about half the time and for about 25% less than the nearest MB dealership quoted me (and they warranty their work
for longer, too!) They also inspected the car and took a couple of pictures of some other items that needed attention (this is a nice touch, very helpful for decision making). I will definitely go back soon to have these things addressed and I have complete confidence that they will do a wonderful job. They are even willing to work with the extended warranty company I use to fix one of the issues. I’m so far very impressed with my first AMC experience and look forward to next time. A+

6/24 update- My second trip to Atlantic MotorCar was the same as the first in regards to amazing service! I needed a seal replaced on the front differential and I had the coolant changed as recommended from my last visit. The price was very fair and they provided a free loaner car. I can’t recommend this shop enough. I have never received this level of quality in terms of workmanship as well as customer service from any MB dealership (they even follow up with you to ask and make sure you’re happy and they actually care about your answer!!). If you need service, make an appointment at AMC. You won’t regret it.

9/29/23 update- It was time for another routine brake flush and a ME State Inspection for my MB E400 coupe. Atlantic Motorcar continues to outshine any dealership for me in terms of professionalism, courtesy, and quality of work. I can’t think of any other automotive shop that I look forward to visiting. I know they will always take good care of me and my car.

05/12/2025- Once again, I took my E400 for its annual service needs to AMC. This year an issue arose with one of the rear tires. I got a clean loaner car and they ordered in new rear tires and installed them the next day. The car was returned to me with a fresh alignment, Maine inspection sticker , flushed brake fluid, sunroof service, and they washed it (and washed the floor mats!). They continue to take good care of me! It is worth the 3+ hour drive to have it serviced at AMC vs. going to the dealership that’s closer to me. Take your car to AMC, you won’t regret it.

It’s a pleasure to deal with the fine team at Atlantic Motorcar, and I can always be assured they will keep my car in top condition.

I recently brought car into shop because of intermittent blinking of ABS warning light. Cause was not determined.
I was found to require front end ball joints based on play in vehicle while in motion. That play had been there for years and thankfully was found to be present on a visit for another reason.
After replacement, the car is much more stable with lack of play while driving.
Your input was much needed and greatfully appreciated.

Best place in the Mid-Coast for expert auto service. They are helpful, skilled, and they will lend you a car if you need one. Atlantic Motorcar is not the cheapest place, but the level of service is definitely worth it. My two 12 year-old cars are running great and headed for 200 000 miles thanks to Bruce and his team.

Atlantic Motorcar is the most impressive service center we have ever been to... they are thorough, honest, caring, and competent. They always put the customer first. They have true old fashioned values, the way doing business should be!
