Alpine Lumber Company - Granby, CO

I've been a construction contractor for over 30 years in Colorado, and Alpine Lumber in Granby is easily the worst lumber company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. The lumber is way over-priced and you can count on poor quality. I managed a major rebuild at the Winter Park Lodge, and Alpine delivered more than one truckload of largely unusable lumber and then refused attempts to return it. Trying to pick up one piece of hardware for a more recent customer who bought thousands of dollars worth of lumber turned into a multi-trip nightmare. Not only are they incompetent but they also have a rude and arrogant attitude with paying customers. I will travel to Summit County or Golden to buy materials before I will ever deal with this sub-standard company again.

Helpful and friendly staff. Lumber quality varies but I assume they have little say in that. Out of stock on many items but not unusual given the COVID19 environment. Only real complaint is they're not open on Saturday, even a part day would be extremely helpful. Store and yard are well organized and reasonably clean

Still sporadic shortages, but at least prices have come down some

This establishment is where you need to buy your mountain home lumber. Or buy some durable tools that will last forever.
