Advantage Roofing Ltd

I would like to start by clearly stating that Advantage Roofing did not work on my house, they worked on my neighbours. The company did do an excellent clean up job in the end. However - there were rusty nails all over a shared pathway between my house and my neighbours that my family and our dogs use to access our backyard.

We use our yard frequently and numerous times I had to pick up these nails and toss them onto the tarped area where they should have been. I realize these guys have a job to do, but I would appreciate if they were a little more aware of where their waste is landing when it hits the ground. I would have been extremely upset if one of these nails went through one of my family members feet or our dogs.

The roof on our home was replaced by Advantage Roofing on March 31, 2015. Included in their estimate was the shingles, flashing, exhaust vents, eavestrough, downpipe and fascia. The work cost was close to $25,000 and the work was guaranteed for five years.
This past February a wind blew off 2 sections of the fascia. I called and was told someone would be there asap. After 6 phone calls, and no action, I was then told that even though my invoice from Advantage Roofing detailed everything that was purchased and installed, they would not cover any items they sub-contracted out. My Invoice mentions no sub-contractor name so I felt it safe to assume that if Advantage was giving one invoice out in their name, then they would hold to the guarantee
The fascia, eavestrough,and downpipe were apparently contracted out so Advantage has no interest in repairing the damage. The company they contracted this work out to cannot be located.
My invoice does not say that these portions of work are not covered and at no time during my 6 attempts to get Advantage to do the repairs was I told of this until my last attempt on April 2, 2019.
I was however told during this last conversation that it was the wind and not their workmanship that caused the damage and they didn't guarantee against wind.
First, I don't appreciate non-disclosure. I also believe that if Advantage was responsible for sub-contracting out work then Advantage should make sure the sub-contractor agrees to warranty that work so it matches their own.
I of course would never use this company again. They are deceptive and in my mind without integrity.

First rate. We were away when shingles installed. 100% cleanup. Great job. Billed exactly as quoted. Reasonable pricing. Five stars.
