Ace Hardware-Garden City

Customer service is great and have most everything I need as I am a business here in Garden City doing handyman and Hot Tub stuff

I went in to get some screws, got em', and bro at the till, I guess acted like I needed some exercise and sent me BACK to check the price. Just skip your gym before you come here because some lazy what-have-you didn't want to keep track of their garb.

It's so convenient having a hardware store like this in Garden City now. It seems like there's always something we forget to bring and usually Ace has it. Really more of a general store than just a hardware store, honestly. Great selection and even my kids love going in and looking around while I get what I need. Very knowledgable, helpful staff as well!

We came to bear lake on vacation for the week and bought several items to play during our stay. The inflatable pool turned out to be defective upon opening as it leaked immediately upon adding water. We tried to exchange this item without any success.

In reading other reviews, this seems consistent. Poor return and exchange policy. In retrospect, the manager didn't verify date of purchase or offer to look at the product to see if used. A trained "no" regardless of circumstances.

Gave two stars as it is a nice store with a good selection for the city. Without this experience, it is a great store. I would just have caution buying anything that you can't verify is functional without opening it.

I bought a fishing pole on August 2nd to use on a vacation with my family at our cabin. We properly loaded the fishing line and when we tried to cast, the line immediately tangled. We are experienced with fishing and know we used it properly and assumed it must be defective.

We are on vacation and didn’t have time to get back to the store until today the 5th (3 days later). We tried to return the pole and the manager instead told us he had fixed it and he can’t take it back because it’s been used.

He told me the quality of this product is not good, and if I wanted a fishing pole that would work, I should have bought a different brand like the Ugly Stick.

He then suggested if it breaks again to bring it back in and they would fix it again. I told him I don’t have time to bring it back every time we cast, and we live 3 hours away so that’s not feasible for a fishing pole.

He then again said it’s not a high quality fishing pole and it’s expected to get tangled even with the first use and we should’ve bought a different one.

I’m disappointed they were unable to stand behind their product, and wish they wouldn’t sell something they know off the bat won’t work properly.

Last weekend 7/7/2024 about 12 p.m. we visited your store several times trying to match the paint on the wall of our cabin. Two times we purchased paint but it wasn't a great match. We brought in the old paint bucket hoping for a miracle. (I hope I have the right name) Nathan gave excellent customer service. He went above and beyond to make our old paint a spreadable consistency. He provided extraordinary customer service combined with excellent knowledge of his craft. Our painting adventure was a complete success thanks to the diligent and kind efforts of your employee Nathan. Please let him know that his amazing customer service did not go unnoticed!!

Torn about this one. One day I was in there and a guy helped us out a ton with getting some grilling equipment! Phenomenal customer care. The very next morning we came to buy some sleds. We spend $250 on sleds just to find that the sleds were defective only 30-40 minutes later. We returned to the store within 2 hours to return the defective sleds and exchange them for some nicer ones. No returns were allowed, no store credit, etc. despite the receipts stating that there is a 90 day return/refund policy. I had spent $1,500 across two days here & customer service collapsed for a $100 issue. Fairly upsetting.

Wish I could leave a stronger review seeing as they are a solo supplier/shop of their kind in the area… but I felt it was important to share our experience. Buy once, if you are hesitant or worried that you may need to return an item, purchase it from another store. The returns & refund process will not go well here - it seems that there isn’t one unless it’s an ‘ace’ branded product.

We were vacationing at Bear Lake, and lost a bolt in our rear shocks. Came to Ace to buy some tools and replacement bolts. Kevin was so helpful, offering tools and advice. We really appreciated their above-and-beyond service and support.

Fantastic customer service and I will be a customer for life. The owner went above and beyond to help us.

I went to the Garden City,UT store today to get some paint matched to the exterior HardieBoard that we have on our cabin. Duane was able to do it perfectly and his wife Sheri courteously checked me out. I love this store. There are always people there who want to help me and have always been able to answer my questions. There is no other hardware store in my area where I get that service with a smile and usually a story as well. My neighbor Kari Wybrow also make sure that I am always taken care of and recently introduced me to the Handyman service which did a great job with some repairs that I was unable to make.

This Ace Hardware is great, and an awesome resource for anybody needing home improvement/maintenance parts up in Garden City. The selection could be a little better, but it is acceptable for being in such a desolate area.

Their prices are egregious, however. How is a gallon of paint $82? I can get a gallon of paint in Utah County for $24. A 6-pack of 9 Volt batteries is $30.

We were looking for a retaining pin which is not of the formal size range. The young lady behind the counter with dreadlocks knew exactly where they would be, and then walked all the way back to show us a couple of more drawers on the opposite shelf to search. We didn't find the pin, but really we're impressed with the kind of customer service I remember from when that meant something.

Bait and switch. I bought a shade pop up canopy from them. Took it to the lake. Everyone had a pop up canopy. While setting ours up one leg bent. Then another bent with a small breeze. I was the only canopy that used the guy lines too! Everyone else's canopies were staying and not moving. I took it back because the receipt says 90 day returns. The manager pointed to a sign and said they don't take back canopies. It sounds like they know they have an inferior product and can easily sell it to out of towner's in a bit and switch sell. If they have a special policy they need to tell the customer and not rely on a small white sign that the majority of people will not read.

So sad they tarnish the Ace name.

These guys are everything but helpful, I purchased a tent from them that was supposed to be for two people and we set it up and in order to fit two adults you have to be curled up next to each other. They said they wont do the return even though I I have the original receipt and it said they have a 90 day return.

On Feb 22nd I went to pick up a few items we needed. Ramona was the cashier and was amazing. I used one coupon and she showed me where to look on my receipt to see it. The associates were all very friendly.

They are an Ace Hardware. Pretty good store. Nice to have up at bear lake. Just. well. its an Ace so you probably understand.

Real nice improvement, and hands off too the design and construction of the Ace and Mike's market!! Nice to have this in Bear Lake/Garden City!!

I was just delivering building supplies for their new store all the shelving the guys unloaded me a day early that'll give him five stars. I believe it's going to end up looking really nice when they're all said and done right now they're still putting it all together.

Very hospitable and associates KNOW the store. Need something in a pinch when visiting Garden City? This is the place!

It’s amazing the amount of items they carry in such a small store! They have bailed me out several times when I need something to finish a project. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are OK

I needed stuff to fix my camp trailer. They had it and zip ties and more!!! Great helpers each time I visited

They have made Garden City a much nicer place than it would otherwise be. They have done wonders with their new Mike's Grocery and Ace Hardware. They are good people and have contributed emensely to the Bear Lake area
