Ace Handyman Services Rapid City

We are extremely pleased with the Ace Hardware service. I just called up to see if they could recommend a handyman and they said they have their own services. They sent out a wonderful talented man named Trevor who completed our job in a short period of time. We had a. Trex deck replace our wood deck. Trevor is extremely talented, hard-working man. I highly recommend Ace Hardware services. He carried all the old wood over to the driveway very very clean worker alsoThank you, Ron and Donna.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was no-showed twice which has cost me money because I've had to take off work for this to be done. Someone keeps calling and telling me to sign the estimate even though I have months ago. Then when they send a third party tech out, they didn't communicate ANYTHING with him in regard to measurements or even what was being done. The poor tech doesn't know if he can complete the job. It's not his fault.

We really liked Nate’s work. We were surprised at how good the storm door and the outer frame turned out! I have used ACE for several projects and have always been satisfied with the outcome!

I had the pleasure of working with John for some tile work in my business. From start to finish, the experience was seamless. John was professional, and paid great attention to detail. The tile installation was flawless, He took the time to ensure everything was perfectly aligned, and the results came out great! I am very happy with it. I will call Ace Handyman Service again.

I dealt with mice in my garage last winter. He fixed the gaps around the garage doors and also gave advice on other devices to keep them away. I appreciated the time he helped with suggestions.

Had Jonathan Potter replace our front door and storm door. He is very meticulous and the door fits and functions perfectly. Gave 4 stars simply because it seemed to take a long time. There was a gap in the weather stripping so he came back and made the adjustment.

The work was well done by Trevor. However, I'm unable to say the same about the back-office. I've received confusing bills lacking in job descriptions and paper bills that conflict with emailed versions. Not a happy camper. Need to discuss, but have not received timely responses to voicemail I left.

Absolutely amazing service! So grateful for this service, thank you so much. I have used them twice now and have no doubt I will be using them in the future too.

Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing and i will never use them in the future.
•They cancelled on me twice.
•Their auto texts that they send after you schedule an appt. always showed a different appt. time than what I scheduled over the phone.
•The worker showed up late to the appt. He said his GPS couldn't find it. (It's not hard to find and no one has ever had issues in the past.)
•Neither of the jobs that I hired them for were completed. I wanted 1 interior door replaced and 1 bathroom vent/fan replaced. The ONLY work he ended up doing was taking out the old fan and putting a coat of primer on the door (because he said replacing the door would be too difficult and that putting in a new fan would be "a whole day of work"). He ended up milking the clock and taking 3 HOURS to take out a fan and put primer on a door.
•I was originally quoted 2 hours for them to complete the job. Like I said, nothing I asked for was even completed and it still somehow took him 3 hours.
•They took over 2 weeks to send me an invoice and the invoice they sent me is for 4 HOURS of labor and materials, with absolutely no specifics listed as to what work was done or what materials were used. Other companies I've used in the past typically provide a detailed invoice and a receipt to prove the cost of the materials.
•I ended up hiring someone else to install the bathroom vent/fan and it only took them 30 minutes! This is what the Ace employee had said would take all day.

I'd highly recommend not hiring this company, as it seems from my experience that their employees have a low skill level and like to run up the clock.

Riley and Don are amazing! Riley built a cat house for me and then Don installed my cat door and then built a custom tunnel to connect them. Truly wonderful work! These are the kind of guys who quietly keep our world running!

Wow, so impressed with this service. It is really tough to find reliable help for small jobs so this service really fills a local need. Jordan was polite, professional, and efficient. He capped our chimney and sealed our skylight in no time flat! The scheduler was great to work with as well. And the price was very reasonable. I have lots of small jobs over the course of a year and this service will be my go-to. I hope they stick around for the long haul!

I didn’t know about Ace Handyman Services. I called GPLocal and they told me to call them. All I needed was a new toilet installed and plumbing companies wouldn’t do one toilet. Because of events out of my control, I had to reschedule three times. They were wonderful, polite, professionally and understanding. They arrived on time. Very nice. I thought there would be even a slight mess. Nope. It was spotless. I will absolutely call them again!

Pretty terrible experience with Ace Handyman Services. Started off great - got my quote relatively fast and work started not too long after. First issue I had was the completion time frame (we were having a shed built). First, we were told about 3 days...then a week...then 2 weeks...by the time it was completed, a month had passed. The quality of work was great and I have no complaints there - but the scheduling between the office and handyman was horrible.

Wish that was the worst of it. When it came time to pay my final invoice (we put a deposit down for ALL of the materials), the price had almost doubled!! We would be paying over $10,000. When I asked why it doubled, the answer I received from their office person was "well, I guess the handyman is a bad estimator." I asked for the receipts and began to consult with a lawyer. A week or so later I received a corrected invoice that was about $3k cheaper, but things weren't adding up. Still didn't have the receipts. When the receipts finally came, we noticed that one materials receipt was tripled on our final invoice!! Pretty simple task to do - add up receipts. The final invoice was in the range that we knew it should have been to begin with.

I would not recommend this company to anyone! Very unprofessional on the business-end of things. Owner never responded to calls and requests to speak. He did have the nerve to have his handyman ask me for a personal tour of my place of work...

Punctual, honest, and friendly people

We recently had Ace Handyman Services install a new patio door at our house. Within a few months, it started leaking at the bottom corner, so we called Ace to see if they could come out and take a look. Tim came out to our house the next day and did a very thorough inspection of the door. He found a crack at the bottom of it, which is where the water was leaking into the house. We were able to get a new door from a warranty claim, and Tim and Trevor came out within just a few days to pull out the door and reinstall a new one. They did a great job, were very professional, and pleasant to work with. We will definitely be using them for our future projects and recommending them to our friends and family.

Brandon came to our home to take out a cracked skylight and install a new one. He was time efficient, did a good job and was courteous and professional.

Great Handyman work. The billing Dept for invoices or statements took 2 yrs after the job was done to say the bill wasn't paid when it was. Need better office help to get things in order And keep updated. But the fella they sent for replacing my screen door so the dogs could look out was fixed very well and he was really nice too.

I hired Ace Handyman Services to replace some roof materials on my gazebos. They did a fine job and were done in a very reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend Ace Handyman Services for pretty much any job that needs to be taken care of in your home. Thanks Ace!

I contacted ACE as I had numerous projects I wanted to get done and have struggled finding help in the past. They had someone out 2 days after I called to give me a quote and had the work scheduled a couple weeks later. We ran into a couple snafus that were unavoidable and not the fault of the Handyman but he was apologetic anyway. He went out of his way to give me guidance and education on different aspects of my projects and what materials will be the best. I will absolutely use them in the future.

I was hesitant and dragging my feet to call anyone to come out and put a roof on our pergola because of all the horror stories you hear about people never showing up or book you months out! But I was totally floored when I called Ace handyman services and got the estimate and the job done right within a week! I am totally impressed and satisfied and will also call them for any job I may need in the future! I highly recommend them!

Jordain called to let me know when he would be here was on time and very respectful of my personal property and myself did a great job in a timely manner . I’ve always used Ace Handyman and will continue to do so for all of my needs .

We had a dishwasher that was not installed properly - without insulation, not balanced, and kept falling out of its space. We now have the same dishwasher installed properly with insulation, balanced, and secure in its space. What a difference it makes with the cleaning! Your gentleman was on time, thorough, friendly and competent. The only issue I had was that they did not leave a paper receipt, nor was one emailed to me.

Jordain W and Tyler H helped us out today by removing our old countertops and sink to facilitate new ones being installed soon. They were very knowledgeable and offered good advice while having answers to all our questions. Their advice also drew us to request their help for putting the sink back in after we get new countertops installed next week. They were Very well mannered too, they even took their shoes off before entering our home (we didnt even ask). I recommend either of these gentlemen for any future work done.

They don’t tell you they don’t have materials to do the job. They show up then leave and charge you while they go pick what they need to do the job. A handyman service should have tools to do the job hired for when they get to your house. Way over charged.

They’ve done so much for me, hanging doors, fixing the door frame, vent for dryer to hanging wall art and built my electric desk. So much more too. Good company with great techs.

Tyler did a masterful job of moving my fence, including consulting with me regarding any changes during the project. He was punctual, professional but very friendly, and left a clean worksite when he was done. He and his crew worked well together, and the finished project looked better than I had hoped. I will not hesitate to use this company again.

Trevor was our handyman and he was a really hard worker, knowledgeable, easy to work with, and very friendly. We will definitely use Ace Handyman services in the future!

A gentleman came and gave an estimate for a 2 man job and apparently he did not include materials The craftsman came to do the job, only 1 person, he did not have the materials to do the job, had to leave to get materials came back still alone, I had to help hang the project and he still did not have the materials to finish the job. Came back without calling only to find out the roof was to icy to work on. Finally after about 2 weeks returned to finish the job Work was gone and looks very good and he cleaned up very good when he finished each day
We felt they were some what disorganized from bidding the job, to having to wait for all materials to arrive, to not having enough men for the job, and we felt we were somewhat overcharged Live and Learn

I scheduled a handyman to come out for the day. Trevor was amazing! He showed up on time, did great work, was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Trevor got right to work. I was impressed by how much he got done in such a short time. If I need anything done in the future I'll be calling and request him.

I called Ace Handyman Services to do a few projects around the house. Craftsman was on time and professional. Did work efficiently and in a timely fashion, making sure all of my projects got done in the allotted time frame. I was very pleased with the quality of work and would most definitely recommend Ace Handyman Services for any and all projects.

The winds were really high today and Jay from Ace Handyman was able to put my siding back on my house for me!

Jay with handyman services has done several projects at my house and they have all turned out amazing!!! He is super professional, knowledgeable, and wasn’t afraid to try some unique remodeling ideas that I had. They all turned out fabulous and I’m thankful for this company

We have used Ace Handyman Services multiple times to do everything from hanging window treatments and putting up shelves to assembling furniture and installing lighting. The work is always excellent and their customer service and prompt scheduling is top notch.

UPDATE 8-1-21: We have now used Ace Handyman Services on multiple occasions and, every time, the quality of the work is excellent. The past few times, Trevor fixed our deck supports, hung about 20 pieces of artwork, and installed our kitchen tile backsplash. We have always received friendly, professional customer service and highly recommend them.

UPDATE 5-26-2022: Craig did an excellent job of replacing the knobs with lever handles on 16 interior doors as well as switch out the deadbolt on one exterior door. I thought it would take most of the day, but he worked quickly and efficiently to get the task done in 1/2 the time. We have used Ace Handyman many times in the past and have always been satisfied with the quality of the work.
