These guys are amazing! 70 ft tree leaning and ready to fall into power lines, due to winter storm and high winds. I called for help, and they responded within the hour, on a Friday, late afternoon!. Daryl went over his plan for this hazardous teetering tree, giving advice and options, making sure we understood what was going to happen.
There cautious expertise was amazing, as they managed to secure, and fall this tree without damage to surrounding trees and power lines. It was impressive watching them work togeher, so efficiently in windy and freezing temps. They cut 16" rounds, and branches were stacked, ready for chipping The price was very reasonable. They were professional and personable. You will not find A Better Choic tree serice than Daryl, Heidi and their team!

Daryl his crew were fantastic. They did everything I wanted and more. They did not rush their work. They were thoughtful in their trimming and pruning of my trees and shrubs. They left the yard better than they found it. They made sure to cover my water feature to keep debris out of the stream and pond and raked up the flowerbeds and lawn of all the smaller debris. Blew the lawn and patio, chipped and took away all wood debris. I will definitely have them back for other cleanup in the spring. Reasonably priced, hard working professional that strives for customer satisfaction. I highly recommend them.

I had a tree get blown over during a recent severe windstorm; a lot of the Vancouver area was experiencing downed trees at the same time. Yet, Heidi @ ABC was able to get people out THAT EVENING to check the situation, and give me a reasonable quote for the tree removal. They came out the NEXT DAY to trim away excess branches, and to install tarps to cover the holes in the roof the tree had made. They then came out with special equipment to gently hoist the tree away from my house and onto the ground, and then were able to push the tree to a safe location in the greenbelt behind my house, being very careful to not let the tree strike the house on the way down. They cleared the branches from the roof and roof valleys, and gutters, and cleaned up everything once they were done. They did a GREAT JOB, were easy to work with, and I'm glad I called them!!!

I hired a company to cut down a tree at my home. The contractor that was referred to me was not bonded and the license has been suspended. A Better Choice LLC helped me find the other business and came right out and finished the work. This is a wonderful honest replicable and accountable business. They were so helpful with information and response. Great job!

Daryl and his team cut down a 90ft Douglas Fir tree that bordered a neighbor, a fence, surrounded by other various sized trees/plants, and two large stumps. They cut the tree down into 16" rounds in one day. Not the most easily accessible to do the job. They were efficient and fast. The level of excellent customer service was unexpected. Daryl graciously repaired the broken fence for free! Heidi communicated and navigated the permitting process with the City of Vancouver directly on my behalf. They're returning in a few months to plant our replacement tree. Definitely "A Better Choice" for all your tree service/landscaping needs. Firewood anyone?

Daryl and his crew have been great to work with. This is actually our 2nd time using them. First time for stump removal and this time for removing a 30+ foot tree in our backyard. The crew removing the tree showed up early and got it done quickly while it was POURING rain. They have been and will be our go to.

Edit: We used Daryl and Team again and could not be any happier. We had a project of trimming some Herbavita that have been neglected and damaged from snow. In addition some blackberry.

They also are handling a driveway clearing and graveling.

Again they are the best.

Did a great job for us in a very efficient manner with a great cleanup when the job was done. We shall utilize their services again later on in the summer.

Based off good reviews I went with these guys for trimming branches away from my roof, this was the only reason I had them come out. Got a call at 8:30 when they were supposed to show up saying that they couldn’t come, then another call saying they could. Showed up at 9:30, took a 45 minute break at 10:30. When I came out to discuss branches that were still over the house they stopped working and waited for the owner to show up and argue the scope of work with me. The work they did was good, but they didn’t complete the job, would not use again or recommend.

Heidi and Darryl are great, they took care of a huge cedar tree for my neighbor and I. They are honest and transparent about the work that needs to be done and their prices are very fair.

They told me what they recommended and why, and didnt pressure me into paying for anything I didnt want or need. I would recommend them to anybody who needs an arborist. They are easy to work with, go the extra mile, and are just good people overall.

They arrived at around 9:00ish and started right away. The guy in the tree was very good and never came down until the job was finished. It took them awhile to get both trees down, but they cut the bigger branches into manageable rounds, as we had requested and cleaned up all the debris and remaining limbs. We did have a small mishap with a wayward branch that swung down through our fence. The crew made a phone call to the owner, Daryl, and within a short time, he came with materials and fixed the fence good as new. Overall, we were very pleased with the job and the company and would recommend them to our friends.

They did a fantastic job for us and took down a tree that most other companies said would be too difficult to tackle without a crane. We've used A Better Choice twice now and will continue to use them

April 2022: After a sudden snow storm left a mess of tree limbs and an unsafe tree in my yard, the team from A Better Choice were able to come out quickly and clean up the debris and prune the tree so the remaining limbs were safe. They also removed some old dying bushes and opened up my front yard and porch to a much better view! They completed the job in under and hour and for a great rate! The team was super nice, knowledgeable, and did a great job including clean up. I will use them always and recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
February 2021: The service was excellent! They were able to get here right away during a very busy time after the snow and ice of February 2021. They had the limb down off the roof and everything cleaned up in an hour. They were COVID safe with masks and social distancing . I love that I was able to use a locally owned business and was treated as a neighbor as well as a customer. I will definitely use them again!

During a recent wind storm, our large maple split in half and a section crashed through the backyard fence into our neighbor's yard. Having used A Better Choice in the past, they were my first call and arrived within an hour. As expected, Daryl quoted a fair price to cut up and remove the fallen section, in addition to pruning a couple of damaged apple trees. He also quoted a fair price to remove the section that was still standing. We've used other arborists over the years, but A Better Choice is just that.

So it's actually my neighbors that hired them. However from my deck I can see it all. There was a huge branch that broke off and was aiming right to our shed. These men showed on the same day. Thinned out the tree so no more worries. And the tree looks amazing. I would recommend this company.

I wish there was a way to give A Better Choice 6 stars. Highly impressed with their work cutting back my cedar branches! Their estimate for how long it would take was almost to the minute, that takes real experience and know how. Contact them first!

They did what they said they would do on time and reasonably with cleanup. I will recommend and use them again.

I was sad about having to remove a tree but they found the perfect replacement! They were professional, courteous, on time and excellent to work with! I highly recommend their services!

I don't often write reviews, but I just had these folks out and was almost scared away by the one negative review I found on here so I want to share my experience. I needed some fruit trees trimmed (they've been around for decades, so I am picky). I wound up choosing A Better Choice LLC because they gave the best of three estimates and seemed knowledgeable. I was not disappointed. The work was as stated and on time. There was no mess when they left.

I used to run a business and I remember what damage one negative review could do. I just want to say that if you are seeing one or two negative reviews among many positive ones, you can assume the reviewer is the type who cannot be satisfied. Some people are just that way. But, for this business, I can tell you that they delivered as promised, and I'm something of a "tough customer," especially when it comes to my trees!

Do NOT do business with this company. I purchased firewood from them in September. They had no problems taking my money and only delivered a fraction of the wood I purchased. They acknowledged that they messed up and said they would make it right... and for 4 months now its been excuses about why they can’t bring the rest of the wood. I have tried to be very patient with them and in return they have started to ignore our calls and texts. I would hate for another family to be scammed out of hundreds of dollars and left without firewood for the winter.

I had a few trees,two of which, were 60 to 80 feet tall and close to my house.. I had 6 companys come out for estimates and 3 of them wouldn't do it for fear of damaging my house. One was $1100.00 higher and the other one didn't make me feel very confident. I hired a Better Choice because everything was explained well and I felt comfortable with them. They did a great job of everything and cleaned up when they were done.

Top Tier Work, Very affordable pricing, excellent customer service. I would recommend them to everyone hands down, no questions asked.

A Better Choice removed my cedar tree which was dying. Darryl and the team did an excellent job with the removal and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I highly recommend them and will be using them again should I require their services in the future.

Daryl and his hard working crew finished a 10 hr day making a hedge out of my super high Leland cypress.
Every other arborist said “ it couldn’t be done” but Darly did a fantastic job. Not only that but he and crew cleaned up my yard and the neighbors became limbs had fallen over the fence. Also gives a senior discount. If you need an arborist, give him a chance . You won’t be sorry.

These guys are great! I noticed them falling my neighbors 2 trees while I was working a project in my own yard. I had a tree of my own that I was concerned about and Daryl was very knowledgeable about the health of the local vegetation. I actually hired him on the spot to help top my tree. He took about 10 feet off the top and it looks better than ever. I was worried removing that much would look goofy. It looks GREAT! Daryl really knows his stuff. Thanks guys.

Darryl quoted a huge job at a price half of his competition. Did an amazing job! Very professional, couldn't ask for better when it came to communication. A tree crushed irrigation lines underground when it fell, and they had it fixed the day after it was found. Went on vacation and came home to the job nearly completed as promised.

Had a wonderful experience today with A Better Choice LLC. My trees look so beautiful after being pruned and cleaned up. Everything went very smoothly. I was impressed with the Daryls knowledge of trees. He explained what needed to be done with each tree and knew which ones could be done now and which ones should wait til fall. A very professional crew worked hard to get the job done. They even raked up. blew off the driveway and put everything back where it came from. WOW...what an amazing job from start to finish! Daryl did a great job on a giant maple tree on trimming and thinning out for me and not a spec of debris was left , fair pricing and actually does what he says he is going to do !!!!!
