911 Restoration of Des Moines

They don't deserve the one star. When you talk with them on the phone, they tell you that someone will call you back. The company does not get back with you. This happened a couple of times to me. I really don't know how they got their 4.9 star rating. I will never recommend this company to my friends. You can't trust the ratings on the companies online.

I strongly do not recommend 911 Restoration for restoration services in the Des Moines area. They do not know what they are doing when it comes to water restoration, they overbill, have horrible customer service, and do not work well with insurance. They’ve made a challenging situation even more difficult.

So where do I begin... I was sent to 911 restoration by my insurance adjuster(That's another story), I'm going to keep my words to myself about that, but lets just say 911 restoration is a worthless company, the sub contractors they hire are garbage and their work is shitty.

My house flooded back in dec of 2022, as of 3/5/25 I'm finally finishing my house without them. They took their sweet time, blamed progress on me or my insurance not paying on time. I was told that my (house) was not emergency and that it got put on the back burner for it. I originally had a water pipe break that caused the flooding in the first place and they didn't even originally fix the issue, after replacing things like the water heater they told me all was good and when water works turned the water back on it started to flood again.

When installing the water heater, their contractor damaged it and set it on the ground obviously they knew nothing of what they were doing, they didn't even hook up the hot water lines.

They also removed my appliances that were in my kitchen to do repairs to the floor and cabinets and since they took their sweet time those got damaged as well sitting outside. It's been over 2 yrs since the original issue started and I'm finally getting close to getting back into my house.

After talking to a few other people in regards to my situation I found out they have did a lot of others the same way. including people who did work for them and not get paid...

I could keep going on every little thing they did or lied about but I don't want to write a novel for you to read.

All I can recommend is Do Not Use 911 restoration.... Find someone else..

Do yourself a favor and save your stress, time and money.

I was interested in a general mold inspection and we ultimately didn’t need it. They drove all the way down to me and told me all the facts and then didn’t charge me for anything. Amazing customer service!

Taron and Quentin did a great job. They got here fast, followed up well, and got our basement cleaned up!

If you’re in an emergency, couldn’t recommend 911 more highly!

We had a positive experience with 911 Restoration, during the mitigation process. Once the water leak was dealt with, and it was time for reconstruction, nothing more occurred for 6 weeks, during which time we received no communication from them, except sometimes when we reached out first. We finally gave up, went with a different company, and the work—drywall, painting, flooring—were all done within a week. Do not recommend.

These technicians are impressive - I mean, nobody wants to dial 911, but when you do, they respond in a big way. 5 star service

My sewage backed up and they came out within 45 minutes to assess the damage. Definitely recommend for any water damage!

The only positives I can provide for this company, was the work that was done to clean our mold is good work. However, the process to get our project completed, which is technically not finished, as their is still mold in our ceiling, but they seemed eager to be done with us and the same applied for us at this point.

I was told initially, they were an all in house solution to demo, clean, seal and reconstruct our mold issue. That our project would begin at the beginning of the agreed upon week and continue till it was done. That was not the experience I was given when it was time for services to be rendered. I initially wrote a very long review detailing my experience, but it is just filled with drama and a clear lack of communication and urgency from this company the entire week we dealt trying to get them to perform the work we discussed originally. The tech sent even sounded frustrated at his management for situation he was put in.

But to summarize, they apparently have went through a change in management that led to this situation. I was given the run around all week and had to call multiple times to get techs to even show up. Wasn’t till the current operations manager saw a post I made on Facebook looking for a new contractor recommendation to finish the reconstruction work they told me 3 days into the week this started, they could no longer do. That is when they finally came to finish and then discovered more mold is present and then basically told me it was present and recommended I hire someone else to finish it. This also ended up being way over the quoted budget and it was budgeted for much less work than what I was even told would be done during the consultation.

Clearly there is some operational issues going on in this company and I can’t recommend them at this point in time. They seem to have had good reviews in years past. But as they operate now, they are not getting my business in the future.

This company has been an absolute nightmare to work with. We had a plumbing issue where water leaked through our ceiling, and they said they would arrive in 15 minutes but didn’t show up until an hour and a half later. They gave us a $4,000 quote to repair the ceiling, then sent us a bill for over $10,000. Their fans sat in our garage for two weeks before they finally came to pick them up.

On top of that, we received countless threatening emails and calls demanding payment—despite the fact that we had already sent it. Turns out, they provided us with the wrong address. They even threatened to put a lien on our house over their mistake. To make matters worse, they tried to get us to sign a contract stating we were satisfied with their services, which we absolutely were not.

This has been the worst experience we’ve ever had with a company. Save yourself the headache and money, and go with someone else!

I can’t recommend 911 Restoration enough for anyone facing water damage. When my basement unexpectedly flooded, they responded with incredible speed and professionalism, giving me peace of mind during a stressful time. Their team truly went above and beyond, and I’m so grateful for their help.

Vinny did an outstanding job with the plumbing work in my home! He was professional, and extremely knowledgeable. From fixing it efficiently and his attention to detail and work quality were top-notch. He also took the time to explain what needed to be done and made sure everything was working perfectly before he left.

I recently had some questions about my home and kaitlyn was quick to help me out with what i needed and how soon they could help me and answered all my questions and concerns, she was very patient and sweet, and quick to respond. def recommend them for any help!

Called with my basement full of water. The office girl was very helpful, and nice. She got someone out to me very quickly. They walked me through every step of the process.

There mitigationteam was awesome had them come out to my home for some water damage i had in my basement they took care of me and got it done The reconstruction team will be here on monday to start reconstruction I recommend them to has any water damage or even mold they will get you taken care of that's why i am leaving them with a five star review

Recently my home got some water damage in the bathroom. I gave 911 Restoration a call immediately. Kaitlyn was super helpful and understanding of what was happening, and quick to meet my needs. She got me help in less than an hour. She made sure I was taken care of. Highly recommend.

If you would like your project done in a timely manner I suggest you go else where. Gaslighting costumers into believing that they are at fault when invoices aren’t paid because they were never presented to us. 10 months since the projected got started and we will finally be done with them. If you appreciate your time and sanity do not with these people.

Teron did a great job! Explained the whole process of what he was going to do and was very nice and professional. Had some mold growth in the basement. He vacuumed it all, sprayed the areas of mold to seal and painted. Hard to tell in the pictures because the ceiling in black, but looks great!

Kate was great to work with and answered all our questions. She worked around our hours and was very prompt with responses. Would work with again!

Toron responded quickly to our call for service for water in our basement. Basement was dried out and damage was minimal due to the quick response.

Brandon (and Kate) did a wonderful job in our lower level that got flooded by a cracked water pipe in our home. What I liked about Brandon was that when he gave you a time of arrival he was there on time. This company is so thorough! We love their work and would highly recommend them. They work hand in hand with your insurance company, too. Can’t say enough, good things about their responsiveness and professionalism. Thank you, Brandon and Kate for getting us to this point in the reconstruction process!

Dalton did an amazing job on my ceiling so far! He went above and beyond to make sure my stuff was protected while work was taking place. Honest, kind and very professional!

Teron was very helpful in getting our basement restored after flood damage. He even came out on Saturday morning to get the job done.

Got connected with Lanna at an event and not only was I lucky enough to win their drawing but also to have them come out within day and fix an issue I’ve had!

I cannot recommend Kate highly enough! Her professionalism and attention to detail was superior to others that I have had work on my house. Basement was flooded with a water back up and she got right to work to fix the problem. Informing me of every detail along the way. 911 is the way to go with any loss you may have.

I was very impressed with Restoration 911’s service, machines and communication. They were able to provide an accurate quote and the service was exceptional. I would recommend them for any water damage you may have.

Teron worked with our insurance agent to make sure everything was covered and he personally came to our home multiple times to make sure everything was all dried out and he removed all of the damaged materials. He was very nice and professional.

Great experience for a stressful time. The finished part of our basement flooded and we called in the evening for assistance. Devin arrived 2 hours later and immediately set up fans and a dehumidifier to dry out the carpet. Our carpet had to be removed, mold was found in the walls, and our built-in will have to be removed due to mold. We were quoted reasonable prices, the work was done quickly and professionally, and Devin always arrived when he said he would. Hopefully we'll never have to call again, but this has been the least stressful it could possibly be. We're absolutely recommending 911 Restoration of DSM to friends.

Kate Long made my day. I have not lived in my home for very long and experienced a very long power outage causing my sump pump to shut down causing my basement to fill with water. I called 911 Restoration and was lucky enough to speak to Kate. Not only did she reassure me, she let me know that she would help me. After a very busy day she did call me, arranged to bring out a dehumidifier, and set me up for extraction service. Her kindness was so overwhelming to me. Tomorrow is my birthday and I will actually get to enjoy it because of Kate. Thank you Kate! I am going to recommend you to anyone that needs restoration services!

911 Restoration does such a good job. I have called them a couple of times. This most recent time was when I flooded my upstairs bathroom into my basement bathroom. They were on the job quickly and did an amazing job. I appreciate the quality work Teron did to get my bathrooms dried out and repaired.

John came out and looked at what we thought was primarily a mold problem. He identified that mold was likely not the main culprit, but rather radon mediation was needed. This is a service that he doesn't even provide! He could have easily fleeced us but instead showed great integrity.

Kate has been wonderful to work with. She consistently gives her customers the highest level of service and is proactive in managing trades to keep schedules operating smoothly. Customers always seem to be happy at the end of the project!

911 Restoration was excellent to work with. They were on site immediately the morning following our loss and mobilized their crew for clean up and recovery the very same day. They have stuck with us throughout the entire process and have always been available whenever we had questions.

I called 911 restoration about some mold questions due to my family being ill frequently. We were trying to see if we had hidden mold in our home. Kate and Elizabeth have been very informative explaining the process of what was needed to be done and very quick to come out to test. I called last Wednesday/Thursday and they were here testing by Friday. They advised the results could take up to four days. Got a call today, Tuesday and was advised of the results and we can try and help fix our issue promptly. I highly recommend 911 restoration for any cleaning and mold needs. They are friendly, affordable, knowledgeable, and reliable. Thank you guys so much!
