Shay visited our property to inspect our roof and identify the source of a leak. While I'm pleased that he was able to identify areas in the attic that needed repairs, I am dissatisfied with the cost of his services. He initially quoted me a price of $1,900 that was significantly lower than the final bill of $5,657.52. Shay assured me that the previous roofing company I used would gladly reimburse me for the cost, but that has not happened.
I have attempted to contact Shay multiple times to discuss his inflated fees, but he has not returned my calls. I feel misled into believing I would receive reimbursement, and I believe I was overcharged. I would recommend avoiding this company at all costs!
Got roof repaired by 1st choice home construction. They promised the work was done but it became bigger leak at heavy rain day within just 1 week. I had to moved water out from attic by myself the whole night. They came and fix the leak the day after and promised to take care of the damaged ceiling and attic, but no follow ups. I had to call them again and they promised would call me back to handle it but I never get called from them after that.
So, they might give you all beautiful promise for their business. But be cautious on the result!
Avoid this company if you don't want to be scammed. Shay came out in response to my request for an estimate to correct a very small skylight leak. While there he told me he saw other things on my roof that should be fixed and offered to give me an estimate for everything. I agreed to that but specifically said to break out each item on the estimate so I could choose which if any items I wanted him to address. While on the roof, and without any notice to me, much less my consent, he nailed in a few pieces of material by the skylight at issue. When he came down off the roof he showed me an estimate for over 9K to fix a number of things he claimed needed fixing, but without the breakdown I requested. He proposed to do all that work (which was very vague and didn't itemize specific items to be fixed but just categories of fixing and general categories of materials. He proposed to give me a "$1500 credit" which is what he said he would be charging me for the "temporary repair" he did on the roof without my knowledge while up there estimating. I have no idea if what he did was at all effective or might have even damaged my roof. I went up later to look at it and all it was just a few pieces of material nailed near the skylight. $1500 was a joke to be asking for that work even if authorized. I had received a previous quote to have a day's worth of work done, taking off materials adjacent to the skylight and putting down new materials for $1500. When Shay told me he was charging me $1500 for what could only be a few minutes of work that I did not authorize, I refused to pay it. He literally started screaming at me, telling me I didn't appreciate the dangerous work roofers do, and stormed out of my house. He then called me, claiming to have left a tool on the roof (which he had not) and asking me to pay for materials. When I asked him how much, he said they had a "minimum fee" for materials of over $300. He also said he had "found" the allegedly lost tool in his truck. He then sent me a text, admitting that there was at least a "misunderstanding," blaming his behavior on a loss in the family and asking me to pay for materials to placate his boss. He pulled back that text later. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and Shay responded to the complaint with transparent lies, claiming repeatedly that he had done work only with my consent. Check out this company's reviews on YELP, complaining of similar scams, including work without approval. as well. STAY AWAY!
The response the owner posted below are again lies. Don't be scammed. Check out other YELP reviews where people complain about this company scamming them also. (BTW I never said I was a paralegal. Shay started asking me intrusive questions including what was my occupation. He got that answer wrong like everything else.)
