Insulation was not installed in the proper layers resulting in air bridging. If you bring any concerns to their attention, the concerns are dismissed as being "industry standard", or "not my fault". Air sealing was discouraged but later turned around as being my decision not to have it done. They tout having much expertise and not doing upsell, but they do not share it to help the customer make an informed decision. Any poor results or unsatisfactory work is chalked up to "industry standards".

My neighbor and I worked together to have insulation installed. I added to existing cellulose blown in; and my neighbor installed insulation in a previously in-insulated garage. The two skilled workers did excellent work. In our case personnel had to access the attic from our second floor. Upon completion they vacuumed the access area and left our home clean.
Zebra was selected from three firms and offered a fair and competitive price. An excellent choice for both my neighbor and me.

Entire process was positive from the estimate, the price ($1000 cheaper than other estimate for exact same job), the follow through both before and after the work was completed. Everybody involved was punctual, professional and friendly. Highly recommend!

Zebra Insulation recently insulated my attic and basement, and also removed three layers of insulation batting and bird crap from my attic. They were thorough and friendly and on budget. The team communicated their intentions well and worked around my time and space. Highly recommend these guys.

I used Zebra to add insulation to my attic this winter. I was scheduled quickly, the guys were friendly, and they were conscious of not tracking snowy shoes throughout my home. Overall it was a great experience! Good pricing too.

I found Mike very responsive in the awkward moment when you're not satisfied and you have to reach out. I had some concerns and he responded without judgement. It is not lost on me that our project is particularly challenging. I believe I did receive more than I paid for but I would have preferred a little more attention to detail out of some of the team on site.
I believe the best mark of a contractor is manning up when a client is disappointed- for that, I give Mike 5 stars!

I was having a tough time finding a foam insulation contractor in Michigan whose pricing was reasonable. Maybe the volume of work is not enough yet. Then I was lucky to come across Zebra. Can't say enough good, no great things, about him and his crew.

Mike Elder and his team were professional and offered good lead times at a competitive price point. I was happy with the quality of installation. There were a couple punch list items that required a revisit but Zebra addressed them and made sure I was taken care of.

We had are insulation updated by zebra insulation. We decided to go with Mike and his team because he and Nathan made a great impression when they came to give us a quote. Mike and his team were wonderful! From initial contact to job completion, I was thoroughly impressed. A few things to call out:

1. I reached out to several companies for quotes. Mike was the only one that responded in a timely manner.
2. Mike is an honest, no pressure type of guy. While he could have tried to sell me double the amount of work, he didn’t. He told me if he was the homeowner, he would do the work in stages, so I wasn’t spending money that may not necessarily need to be spent. I have already experienced a noticeable difference in my home, so the second stage may not be necessary (as he expected).
3. His crew was polite and professional.

I’ve recently had attic insulation installed, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth and professional.

We had Mike out for a quote to add insulation in our attic and bring it up to code. He did a great job giving us options on what we could do. He noticed our two bathroom fans were not vented correctly and included that correction in the quote. The quote was provided quickly and accurately and the was job scheduled easily. Mike and Nathan came out a week later and fixed the 2 vents, replaced the baffles and blew insulation into our attic. They put down towels to cover the floors and cleaned up after themselves. They even brought their own vacuum cleaner! If you need insulation I strongly recommend that you call Zebra Insulation based out of Howell, Michigan.

Mike did an amazing job removing all of the insulation out of my attic and air sealed everything. I had old batt insulation and blown in over top of it. I'm now able to access my attic to properly install baffles to get the correct air flow so my house can breath. Mike was insanely quick. So thank you!! And yes choose Zebra insulation!

Zebra Insulation recently installed Spray Foam Insulation for me. They arrived on time and did a great job cleaning everything up after they finished. I would highly recommend them!

Excellent service, great result. In an effort to self contract my basement remodel I called about 4 other "spray foam" companies before speaking with Mike at Zebra Insulation. Mike was THE ONLY person I spoke with that willingly explained certain hazards and precautions. One of which being the recommendation to not be in the house 24 hours after install for health concerns. Zebra insulation offered an absolutely fair price and over delivered on the final product. Mike definitely knows his stuff and it shows in a quick conversation. We ended up going with spray foam for the finished areas and blanket insulation in the exposed areas of the basement. We will absolutely be using Zebra Insulation in the future for other insulation projects.

I contacted via email this company on Saturday via email to get a quote. Mike answered right away & asked if we could chat on Monday. Today is Monday & I had to contact him back at 5:00 pm. If he was a real businessman, he would have contacted me back first thing this morning. Which he did not. I explained our situation & what we were looking for. I would like Cellulose Insulation, NOT FOAM, blown into our walls. We can feel the cold come right through the house. I also explained on Saturday, that the attic already has Cellulose insulation in it. We did it several years ago. His page on Google says they do Cellulose insulation. When I contacted Mike back just now (5:00 pm), he had me start the whole conversation over again. I told him the attic has already has cellulose blown in up there. I’m looking for it in the walls. He obviously wasn’t listening. He replied that won’t solve your problem. Yes it will I said. I had a house in Waterford I said, that blown cellulose in the walls. It worked perfectly. I also said, I’ve heard bad things about foam insulation. I need the house to breathe & not cause allergies for me. Every Contractor these days wants to use spray foam. It’s not for me.

Watch out for this guy.

Mike was prompt in replying to my inquiry, priced fairly and was here when he said they would be. Zebra blew insulation into the attic space and utilized batting in the walls to the county inspector’s specifications. They swept out the entire barn and left it neater than they found it.

Mike and his team just left my house from installing blow in cellulose insulation and they did an amazing job. The whole process of expressing interest, to coming out for a site review/quote, to putting insulation in took less than two weeks, and this was over the Christmas holiday. Extremely fast! I had Zebra Insulation add additional blown-in Cellulose insulation to my attic. Mike came out and gave me a no-pressure consultation where he found that I needed an extra 8” of insulation. On the day of the install they were on time and after they finished they vacuumed the areas of the house they worked in. They were a great value and I would highly recommend them.

Hired Zebra Insulation during a home remodeling project to insulate my attic. All the employees were outstanding from the first contact through the completion of the job. Mike at Zebra Insulation did a fantastic job!! When my husband and I reached out to Zebra, we were contact within an hour and our inspection date and time was set up. Mike took pictures of the issue that were were having and explained everything wonderfully. We then set up our insulation service day one week later and all of the work that they performed was completed smoothly, efficiently, and very cleanly. Additionally, Mike did all of the work to get us our DTE rebate and provide us the paperwork needed for a tax write off. No complaints and everything was fixed perfectly.

Mike came by and a few things that stood out to me was that he didn’t give me “pressure salesman” vibes. He didn’t look for things to insulate. He made mention that my attic had about an inch or two and would highly benefit from getting insulation. He even mentioned rebates and a tax credit I did not know about. The price was fair compared to other quotes I received, and he walked me through what the process would look like

I took some time to think on it, and I pulled the trigger. He showed up in a massive truck, ran a hose into the attic, which was extremely quiet. Him and his friend were friendly, personably and got straight to business.

I don’t know why but afterwards I almost thought to myself about the cleaning I’d have to do. Mike and his friend cleaned everything that was made a mess “Just some dust and whatever that stuff was.” It wasn’t super messy, but they cleaned it up without me even asking. It was pretty cold that morning too, but they had no problems showing up exactly on time and they finished right on time so I could go run other errands for the day.

I would hire Mike again in a heartbeat. He’s a guy that knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to insulation, whether it’s for in the attic or anywhere else. He didn’t look work to run up the bill. The price stayed the price the whole way through.
