I am completely satisfied with their work. They finished half a day ahead of schedule. And they were very responsive to my follow up questions. I contracted with them to install 23 windows, a sliding glass door, and two entry doors.

I am happy to say how satisfied we are with our new roof completed by the Whiting Company. The work was done in a timely manner and with minimum disruption to my family. Thanks Tim for a job well done. Happy Holidays to you and your team.

I used The Whiting Company to install windows in my home. The cost of the windows was affordable and in my opinion the same quality as the branded companies. My salesperson Tony was helpful and responsive. My windows were very old and the new windows are beautiful and made a noticeable improvement. My installation happened on time and as scheduled. The 2 guys who installed them made sure to clean up after they were finished and pleasant. I would recommend the Whiting Co.

Excellent company. They keep us appraised of job start to finish. Prompt, competitive price of work to be done. They did excellent clean up. They replaced our flat roof, which has made our inside much quieter. Whiting Company is the best.

I hired the Whiting Company to re-roof our church's leaking 32 yr old flat roof. Out of the 6 quotes I got, Whiting was the least and best. Tim Whiting is such a great guy to meet, too. Our church is very grateful for his giving us such a fantastic roof for a fee that our church could afford. They were nearly half the price of the other quotes, yet their workmanship was perfect and the new roof is beautiful!

Whting did a great job replacing our roof in 2018 at a very reasonable price. I just reached out to Tim Whiting because we are selling the house and I couldn't find the documentation proving the age of our roof, which he provided promptly. Tim is a pleasure to deal with.

The Whiting company has done many siding and window projects for me and my family members over the past 20 years. They have always done great work and been very helpful working through projects with us. The siding in the picture below is my house done years ago. It has lasted beautifully through the years and through the storms. I would highly recommend the Whiting Company.

Beware of shady business! Read all the negative reviews before you do business with them. I would give 0 stars if I could. I had my siding installed 7 years ago and have had nothing but issues from bulging pieces, to vents falling off, shorted outlets, improper flashing, and leaks. Just recently I had some of my siding blown off my house. All my neighbors with their original old aluminum siding had no issues. Turns out a bunch of the siding was nailed into nothing! Literally you can just pull the nails out by hand because they are only being held by foam board. I noticed a few more areas bulging and they had the same exact issue. I had warned the company that I had concerns from the beginning on workmanship and the told me not to worry and they stood behind their work. Well 7 years later they think it's totally reasonable for this to happen and won't take ownership of their poor work. See attached photos. I guarantee the owner will respond saying they have been using the same crew for 30+ years without issue. Well why do I have siding nailed into foam? They also wanted to charge me $500 in labor alone to fix those few boards which is a complete insult and shows they could care less about their mistakes. Seriously, feel free to reach out to me and I can provide more details before you make the same mistake as me.

Update 7/1/2024 - Mr Whiting continues with his outright lies and deceitful business practices via his response to my review.

The TRUTH of how this was resolved is that I dropped the MHIC complaint because his insurance company completed a full inspection of the work his company performed and did an independent estimate of the repair costs which totaled $42,644.70. His insurance company paid me that amount in full to release them from the liability of the siding damages. Mr. Whiting remains liable for subpar workmanship and if he wants to continue to slander me publicly, I'm happy to renew the pursuit of a remedy with the MHIC or with the court system. I'd also be happy to publicly post all of the associated documentation, third party inspections, reports, MHIC complaints, etc that represent the facts of his company's business practices if he continues to slander me.

I also recommend that he remove the public callout of the MHIC officials involved in the complaint filed against him, particularly given that his representation of the findings and closure are a documented lie.

Original Review: Beware of this company and stay far far away. I contracted the Whiting company to replace windows, gutters and a door. Heed the bad reviews on the sites as I have experienced everything that everyone has said. Not only did they damage my siding but they miss installed the capping around the windows and didn't install insulation around my windows. Now I'm tied up in a year+ of formal complaints because Mr. Whiting refuses to resolve the issues to any level of professional standard.

The Whiting company itself does not conduct any work, they hire primarily unlicensed subcontractors to independently conduct the work you contract. They do not supervise, inspect, or even show up on the property to ensure that work is completed correctly.

If you have had work done by this company, PLEASE call the company and demand to have it inspected as the subcontractors (Kevin in my case) has proven to cut countless corners including not installing insulation inside the walls. When I found the first issue, Mr. Whitings' response to me was "get a can of spray foam and fix it", then he claimed that he didn't have to install insulation. He continually refuses to commit in writing to do work to any level of professional standard. I've filed a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, gone to mediation and done everything required of me but he refused to complete the tasks he committed to complete in writing. He consistently promises verbally to do things but then refuses to put them in writing, this should be a HUGE red flag to anyone looking for a business to do work on their home. He offered to "fix" everything verbally but then as repeatedly became belligerent when I asked to capture what he would complete in writing. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt and allowed him to inspect and fix my kitchen window but his crew caused further damage to my property and the fixes actually look worse...yes the capping is actually crooked by over and inch in the picture!

I've filed a claim with his insurance and they have accepted liability for the damaged siding but due to a workmanship clause will not cover a significant portion of the work that needs to be completed. He continues to deny that quotes from other companies to complete the work are legitimate.

I'm now TWO YEARS into this nightmare and Tim Whiting refuses to respond to any emails. The only choice I have to get the work completed is to file a claim with the state of MD and likely sue him.

Save yourself time, money, and a WHOLE LOT of headaches and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Take a look at the attached photos for a few examples of the quality of work they perform.

Called Tim Whiting at 0800 after we discovered a leak that had been there a while. Even though he was not open yet, he answered and got a team out the same day. They gave a fair estimate and did the work immediately! They were professional, worked quickly and in the cold. They fixed shingles that weren't part of the leak (estimate), and shored up the vent pipe and shingles around that without extra charge. This extra attention is why I was so grateful we called this company. I trust and highly recommend them!

Whiting was able to provide fantastic roofing service even in the midst of supply change challenges during the pandemic. Their estimate was consistent with similar jobs in my neighborhood before the pandemic, and when I inquired about upgraded materials they were transparent about the costs without upcharging. They did not upcharge for my tough to access roof (cherry picker can't reach to place materials on the roof). The install was quick and consistent with my contract, the crew was great and cleaned up really well (protected my pups from nails). I have already recommended Whiting to additional neighbors!

We had a window replacement job with the Whiting company. It took a bit more than 3 months for the work to get done but it was almost in the timeline that was promised at the time we signed the contract. The installation team was professional and they cleaned up very well after they finished the job. The window quality is fine but no exactly what I expected as I was told they're sound proof. They're not any better than the old ones we had (in terms of sound blocking). I still dont know how efficient they will be during the cold weather (I feel the house isnt losing heat as much as it did last year at this time) but I will update my post as we get closer to the winter time.
The price was within the range that I could afford and that's a positive note about this contract.

We had our Roof replaced. The owner went over all details thoroughly and explained pricing and time frame for work. Our roof was finished in one day, they were professional and did and excellent job on clean up. Great value for quality work! Definitely recommend them if you need your roof replaced!

My siding was damaged doing storm last year in the mist of the pandemic. Dealing with the insurance company wasn't a good experience especially when doing everything through the phone and pictures. I had to contact various companies for quotes (you have no idea what people will tell you need and the prices were outrageous). Tony at the Whiting company walked me through the whole process and even helped me deal with my insurance company. He was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and honest. Tony set up time frame for when the project would start and be completed and was available every step of the way. I am glad I used the Whiting Company and would recommend them for replacing siding.

The Whiting company did a great job with the roof repair. I would give 5 stars accept for one issue. When they installed the flashing on my porch roof they cracked a small piece of siding. I called about the issue but they never got back to me. Overall a good experience though

Whiting Co installed a new roof and entryway door. Sales person was knowledgeable and low pressure. Quotes were competitive. Their roofing team was amazing. Worked from 8am until dark, covered the unfinished part to protect against weather and came back on Saturday morning to finish the job. New roof looks and performs great. The team throughly cleaned the area around the house before leaving. The door installer also did an excellent job. I would highly recommend you consider Whiting Co for any renovation work.

Worked with Don Nicholson and Tim Whiting to perform a full roof replacement on our 111 year old Victorian in Lauraville. Team worked through heat index’s in 100+ over two 14 hour days to replace extensive dry rotted wood and slate. Price came in well below three other companies thru Home Advisor/Angie. Professional dedicated hard working team. Excellent results and highly recommended.

We used The Whiting Company to replace all of our gutters with larger gutters and downspouts, as well as replacing skylights. Their crews were always on time and super efficient. We are going to wait a couple of years for a new roof, but will use them again.

Just seen Snap, it was the worst ever! Would like a refund or tickets to another show, this was very boring, almost like a school play, paid $107.00 was definitely a ripoff!!! I have seen other shows here that were fantastic. This was a real bust and should have been cancelled with only 250 tickets sold

I needed a new roof and found The White Company on Google. I called and Tim Whiting answered the telephone right away. He had his sales rep, Don Nicholson, call me back within minutes. Don came out to the house the very next day and gave me a very reasonable quote. The job was done to my complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend The Whiting Company.

The Whiting Company completed my roof on time as scheduled and did a great job. The roof looks amazing and knowing that I have a 50 year warranty on the tiles helps me rest knowing that I could transfer that warranty to the next owner of my house. The salesman Tony was great and responsive to my many questions as was Tim Whiting, the owner. Tim promised me a date and showed up and completed my roof timely as promised, Thanks Tim!. Cleanup was great and thorough as you can imaging the amount of nails and debris were amazing. The team cleaned up everything multiple times. Thank goodness for that magnet rake as those nails looked quite sharp, but the team did a great job. I would definitely use this company again

Second time in two years I have used the Whiting Company for a roof. Both times excellent work, and what I contracted for. Their crew does an excellent job of cleaning up after they leave. Very happy with the company.

I was referred to them by a friend, called them for a roof replacement quote and talked to Tim Whiting. He was able to schedule an onsite estimate on a Saturday an accommodate our busy schedule during the week. We then met with Don, he was very professional, friendly and gave us a written estimate. He helped us choose a color that matched our house, the estimate was better than the three more we got prior. He was also very helpful in finding a resolution on our cold house during the winter - we didn't have a lot of insulation, so he referred us to a Accurate Insulation that was able to air seal the house and add more insulation.

The roof replacement went well, their guys showed up on time, replaced the roof, cleaned up the property afterwards, everything that was on the quote, in one day. Roof looks amazing and it has a lifetime warranty from GAF.

I highly recommend The Whiting Company. They are very reputable and highly rated on Angie's List.

Tim Whiting is as unprofessional as they come. Our initial phone call was ok, as it simply involved him providing me his email address and asking me to email details of the service I needed along with pictures. I provided the info and expected to receive an official written estimate, but instead received a call from Mr. Whiting verbally providing me an estimate, and him becoming extremely agitated when I asked for the estimate in writing. Mr. Whiting became very short (and frankly rude) to the point where I had to address it with him, and remind him that I was the customer and didn't appreciate his reaction to my request for a written estimate. He calmed down and agreed to send me an estimate. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and chalked his rudeness up to just a bad day, as we all have them. Ultimately, I didn't receive a professional estimate on company letterhead breaking down the specific supply and labor costs (which has been my experience with every contractor I had ever dealt with)but a one sentence email stating siding, roof and the bottom line cost, which was unlike any serious estimate I had ever received from a company who wanted to do work for me.
There was atleast a months wait time to get the repair done by every other company I contacted, and Mr. Whiting had a team available the next week, so Despite his unprofessionalism up to this point, I decided to allow Him to handle the siding repair. Mr. Whiting couldn't give me an exact day/time he could have someone come out and handle the repair, but said he could have the repairs done within the next week. I was ok with this, as the repairs only involved the outside of the house. I came home the next day and found that the work had been completed, but didn't receive a heads up ( as I had requested) on the day they would actually schedule and be coming out to handle the repair.

The repair was adequate, despite the siding replacement not being a perfect color match. I reached out via email to Mr. Whiting and asked for an address to mail a check for the work, or a website to make a credit card payment online. I didn't receive a response to my email, but got a phone call from Mr. Whiting nearly a week later, asking for a credit card payment over the phone, which I don't normally do (as I am left with no receipt of payment or guarantee that the correct amount will be charged). Mr. Whiting, once again, becomes belligerent with me, stating that he was too far away to come pick up a check, he has no website where I can make the payment online, and if I had been home when his team came to do the work (which I was not given heads up on regarding the date/time) I could of made the payment in person. I was flabbergasted at Mr. Whiting response, and agreed to just pay him via credit card over the phone, just to end this unpleasant experience with him, and demanded that I be mailed a proper receipt in the mail, which I am waiting for.

Based on this unpleasant experience with Mr. Whiting, I would never do business with his company again or recommend his services to anyone I know.

We had Whiting do this job because he also did new siding for our home. Both jobs were were done professionally, on time, aesthetically pleasing and to our complete satisfaction. Would definitely use Whiting for any work within their capabilities. Fair pricing too.
