I can’t say say enough about Waldhauer & Son! They did an exceptional job installing new pavers on our pool deck as well as installing new waterline tile! They put in a full days work every day until finished. They were on time, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend them!

I wasn't going to waste my time or energy writing a review. But now, after only 2 years our salt cell stopped working, and its time to let everyone know the nightmare of a pool company Walhdhaurer is. The whole process from start to finish was agonizing. From dealing with the office staff, to the lies, aggressive behaviors and incompetent, shotty work. Here are a few of the things that were not done right: the pool light does not light our entire pool, the bubblers were never installed on our sundeck, the bench at the end of the pool was too low, they graded our yard uneven and it created a permanent pooling of water when it rains, they killed our new grass with overlay cement, there was a leak in our pool before plaster, the finish is bumpy already, there's rust cracks coming out of the water fall, the pool service guy they give you after messed up our chemicals and caused scaling etc etc. So many more things happened, but just to give you an idea, we failed inspections 3 times! We had poor communication throughout the process and when there was communication we were talked down to and talked at aggressively. Phone calls got left un returned ALL the time. The only time they contacted us is when they wanted a check. Once you sign that contract, they do whatever they want. Lies, disrespect and shotty work. The only thing that was done well was the tile. Other than that, it was the worst experience I've ever had with a supposed professional company. My advice is to stay far away from them.

We did lots of searches before deciding who will build our pool. After diligently searching we decided to use WALDHAUER & SOON POOL. We could not make a better choice. He is also the most affordable price in the market too. Our pool was complete in 5 months from time we signed contract to final inspection. It looks gorgeous and well done. It changed our backyard. We are enjoying every moment of our retired life in our private little resort.
We are so thankful to Roy Waldhauer for helping us to do it. We also appreciated his kindness and professionalism during the whole process. Roy is a man of his words.
His pool coordinator, Gerard, a very busy person but always took good care of things that we asked for.
The two ladies at the office were amazing, extremely kind, helpful to us, no words to describe them.
So far we are very happy and we are sure that if any problem appears in the future, they will take care of it for us.
Based on our experience we recommend Waldhauer & Son Pool Company to family and friends.
We always will be thankful to Roy and his staff.

It was a pleasure working with everyone at Waldhauer. I have a beautiful pool at a great price. Roy was a gentleman to deal with. Gerard the foreman is attentive to your needs and a caring professional. The ladies (Glenda and Heidi)in the office were courteous and professional.

Contracted with Waldhauer August 11th 2022. Was told 6-9 months until Construction would start. They started May 7th 2023 so just a few weeks over the 9 months , not a huge deal. Dig went well, no issues. When gunite application started there was no plumbing in place for my spa. I went out and asked the guys if it was normal for the plumbing to not be done. They looked at me funny and then said ,"is this a raised spa"? Which I replied yes. Ever since then I watched them like a hawk. I can only imagine what I would've had to go through had they not run that plumbing. After the gunite was dried the spa looked way too deep. I reached out to them several times and got no reply except for the sales man that sold me on the pool in the first place. He said that he would have Gerard "the project manager reach out". He never did. 6 weeks went by before anyone came back to my property. When the tile crew came out I expressed my concerns with the spa and they said they were going to fix it. They fixed it in a way that the seats were brought up higher but nothing changes the fact that the spa it's self is at my shoulders in the middle. After tile was completed another 5 weeks went by with no one coming. Multiple emails and phone calls were made on my behalf. I left Roy an email saying if no one contacted me in the next 24 hours I would reach out to news outlets and social media. 20 minutes later he called me with nothing but excuses. A few days later a crew came to paint my decking. They showed up with about 5 guys and carelessly painting my decking. Missing a lot of areas and left paint globs everywhere. I went out and tried to fix it with a paint brush, some areas had already dried. I sent him another email in regards to my concerns. No response. Another few weeks go by and I left for RI to visit family. My neighbor sent me a picture of them starting my screen encloser. When I returned home they were installing the wrong size screen. I upgraded to 20x20. They did correct it quickly but only because I told them to do so. Trash has been left all over my property, cigarette butts in my "pool" . A 2 ton dirt pile that's been here since the dig that they said months ago they'd be back to remove that and all the trash. I'm now 3 weeks past enclosure being built and no one has been here. I've emailed and called with no response. They've received $70,000 and I don't even have my equipment yet. They have to install equipment plaster and fill the pool and they're done. But apparently they're too busy using my money to finish their previous projects and pushing mine to the side. I'm making full monthly payments now with no end in sight. I was told in May I'd be swimming in August. We're now in almost October and I don't see an end in sight. Several other of their customers are going through the same thing and it's very sad they they are capable of doing this to people. Beware of this company. Spend your money else where and do your research on the pool companies here.

Signed a contract a year and a half ago, pool was promised to be done in "up to 5 months," that was 9 months ago and counting, never a call back, never an email back unless they need money. I have spoken to the owner directly and in person and he just lies, I don't know what's worse the incompetence or the lying. I have cracked grout l, a pool deck that needs to be painted, grading around the pool ( every storm there is a considerable amount of water that accumulates around the deck.

Once you've signed the pool contract and chosen your tiles, Roy Walhauer becomes rude and unconcerned about quality, timeliness and coordination towards pool completion. His son Carter, 'By the Shores' is equally rude and ineffective in performing his job of the promised pool service. The other employees are kind and knowledgeable when they can be reached, but mostly do not respond to texts or phone calls. Everything seems to have come to a complete standstill for the past several months.....

We are now over a year and one month since they broke ground. There are only a few steps left to finish my project, but they are just not making it happen. I believe we have been patient and understanding of supply chain issues and finding employees and contractors that want to work and do it well. Your lack of communication does not help either. I cannot recommend this company to anyone looking for a pool installation in the Saint Augustine area. Please complete my project!

So far so good! A few months delayed on starting the project from what we were initially told but understanding...given the high demand for new construction, parts, etc. and knowing that it's tough to find willing help/ employees. All work crews so far have been true professionals and a pleasure to have around. The front office has also been great to work with and very patient with us as we made tile and color choices. Will post more pics upon completion!

Waldhauer recently completed construction of a new swimming pool and enclosed lanai. Waldhauer and Son know their craft and gave us excellent advice in choosing pool design and finish elements. The result fully met all of expectations and we feel work quality is top notch. Construction time was delayed due to Covid-19 related product and labor challenges but the end result was worth the frustration of the delays.

They are too busy to follow up.. Great pool thanks for all the advice sorry if I seem a little out of the sorts finding out how much it cost.

Within a 2 month period myself, my son and a coworker all signed contract with Waldhauer Pools to have pools installed. Total was in excess of $200,000. Each experience has been a nightmare. We were all told 3-4 months till completion. Mine took 7 months, my sons 9 months and coworkers 11 months and still not completed. Throughout the entire process there was absolutely no communication, weeks and at time months would go by with no activity. Phone calls and emails are never answered and we never knew when project would continue. I was fortunate that my end project is acceptable, however, my son was not so fortunate. 4 months since completion they still have not returned to complete a small punch list of unfinished items. They never met with him to explain how to operate the system and he’s had problems for 2 months now trying to regulate the system. To date they have not come back to to evaluate. He’s now turning to another company to see if they can determine if the system is defective. After 30 years of being a contractor myself, I have never dealt with a more arrogant and incompetent company as Waldhauer Pools. I would not recommend his services to anyone.

Roy and all of his team the office personnel the staff from the selling points through every single solitary stage of the process we're absolutely professional, informative, available for any questions or inquiries at any time, and spot-on. I would recommend this company highly for anybody who's interested in an affordable , and quality pool product for their existing or new home. I am absolutely thrilled with the end results of my pool. And mine was particularly challenging because I had a very sloped backyard. Thank you so much 4 Waldhauer pools!!!

Perfection takes time, but this is the only pool builder you want in your back yard.

My pool was redone by Waldhauer pools and I had 13 mosaics put in my pool. I have a giant sailfish in the center and others on my steps. I had my pool turned into a salt water pool and I could not be happier. My pool is sparkling clean and I have not had to add any chemicals to my pool. The workers were friendly and experienced. My pool is smooth and I could not be happier I give them a 5 star on pool renovation which they did on my pool. If I was looking for a new or remodeled pool call Waldhauer pools

Waldhauer builds a beautiful pool. It took nine months however. My main complaint is bad communication. And workers not showing up. Now that the pool is done it has severe scale. We were told “ don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of it.” Two months later we still have the same problem. We were not told at the beginning what to do or what to watch out for. Now it’s a big problem. The water has never been in proper balance. I think they mainly want to get paid, then they forget about you.

I had a pool built by Roy and his team 2 years ago and I can’t say enough good things about them. From cost, to quality and responsiveness. It’s the best new addition to our house. My 5yo enjoys it everyday!

Our family will highly recommend Roy and his team at Waldhauer! After meeting with Roy, seeing his design, competitive price, and learning of his 20 years experience with thousands of pools, our choice was made and today we know it was right.

Our project began as scheduled with permit pulling in late fall 2018 and finished as scheduled winter 2019. Over that time Roy and our PM Gerard were responsive and accommodating. At first I may have been a little too eager to communicate, but I always heard back within a day. Gerard successfully managed multiple outstanding crews from the survey to pool school. Excavation was impressively precise in our very limited back yard area, the paver crew were outstanding, the tile was meticulously installed, and the plumbing, electrical, and fencing were all prompt and professional. Pool school and final permit wrapped up an outstanding build and today we enjoy every minute we can in our pool and spa.

We know the choices out there, and we heard all the pitches. Roy and his team delivered what they promised, when they promised, and we’ll recommend them to anyone.

Thanks for an excellent pool! Going on 5 years and it still looks like the install.I brush,vacuum, and check the levels weekly and that is all.

We bought a new home where this company installed the pool. In 2 years we have had to replace the pool pump (was told it was an old model they installed). Then also had 3 different leaks in pool that we had to pay a specialty company to repair. When I called this company, they said we only warranty for one year so your problem. I never had so many problems with a new pool. Would never use them.

-10 stars..this is the worst company!! Rip off artists! Took over 10 months to complete, the plaster walls are stained from improper set up. Could not get anyone to respond to my questions during the process and the one time I spoke with Roy he was rude, condescending, obnoxious, Totally unprofessional! Warranty on work? Don't believe anything this guy tells you..There is none! Walls are still stained. THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS!! THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST!!!!!!!

Buyer beware!!! Owner is a used car sales man! Nothing professional about this company. We went with them because they said they were a family business and used all of their own workers no subcontractors. Everything was subcontracted except for the screen encloser. That was a blessing in disguise...nothing but problems with their workers...not showing up...having to come back several times to fix problems...so on and so on. No communication between any of them in the office. Signed contract last Feb and they just got done! Only reason its complete because we called them every day!! their employees don't want to show up for work!

Waldhauer & Son, I just want to thank you and your crew on a great job that was done on the resurfacing of my pool. I feel as though it’s a brand new pool. Thanks again on a great job.

Just the initial experience of picking colors and materials for my pool as well as the numerous amounts of phone calls, that were quickly answered by Roy and his staff, was greatly appreciated. As the construction continues more comments will follow.

Truly one star is 1000% too good for Roy Waldhauer & his crew of clowns. Get anyone, literally anyone else to build your pool, even buying one at Walmart is better than what they do. Once you give him a deposit he disappears, fishing trips, vacations, stops answering the phone that day...Definitely running a Ponzi scheme. I saw he was trying to build homes under By The Shore last year but a quick search shows that most of the clients fired him & the other ones have been in progress for the past two years. Run.. just run. Stay far away any business Roy Jr is in.

Giving this company one star is actually too much. Absolutely worst experience dealing with this company. We had our pool and screen built. We have had multiple problems with our screen. It's only 2 years old and has already ripped in multiple places. Thy came out a year ago to fix( after calling and calling). And they are already ripped again. Mostly all the panels are completely ripped off the sides. Yet, the owner is Apparantly too busy too even call us back. Instead he sends the employees that does the crappy job to come and give us every excuse they can think of why their work is crap and won't hold up. I would NOT recommend this company. I've never dealt with a company that can't even get a call back from the owner after having multiple problems. We will now use s different company to fix their work.
