We have used Virginia Tree Specialist several times and every time they have been absoluely outstanding! They are spot on with their quotes and very professional on site. We look forward to continuing to work with them!!

Patrick and his crew responded to our call for a downed Cherry Tree in our backyard. This was due to a freak storm in June of 2022. The tree fell on our garage and pool fence causing considerable damage. Patrick was there the night of the storm and his crew came and worked for the next few days to remove the tree. This involved heavy equipment and several crews. the men were polite and on time and did an excellent job. I would recommend Virginia Tree Specialist to any one who asks me.
P.S. This was the second time they have helped after major tree loss from storms.

Patrick and his crew always show up at there scheduled time and complete the work in the timeframe discussed up front. They do commercial work for us as well as residential work at some our homes. They even did emergency storm work for one of the guys here, going as far as protecting the home until the roof could be replaced. The crew is always professional and keep you informed on what is going on. I Highly recommend!

I have previously highly praised the excellent service I have received from Virginia Tree Specialists (see the Prior Review below.) However, I feel it is appropriate for me to expand my prior comments because of assistance provided by Patrick Shope of Virginia Tree Specialists long after he and Virginia Tree Specialists had completed their work.

The company I contracted with to repair the damaged building got to work performing the repairs promptly after Virginia Tree Specialists completed the tree removal. Subsequent to that initial visit however, there was only sporadic, minimal progress made. In frustration after literally months without progress on the job and months since Virginia Tree Specialists had completed their work, I called Patrick to see if he had any suggestions regarding how I might get the repair company to complete the job. Patrick went the extra mile and called the repair contractor himself. I’m not sure exactly what he said to them, but subsequent to Patrick’s call, I was contacted by a senior manager of the repair firm, work resumed, and the repairs were completed. It is a rare company that will stay engaged in a project long after their part of the job is completed. Virginia Tree Specialists is such a company.

As a repeat customer of Virginia Tree Specialists, I can wholeheartedly recommend their services. Their last job for me involved the technical removal of a tree that had grown up between two barns that are only 4 feet apart. The tree had fallen during a wind storm across the roof of a two story hay barn, crushing one of two rooftop cupolas situated on the roof’s peak over20 feet above the ground. Using his custom built truck-mounted crane, Patrick Shope and his crew successfully removed the tree without further damage to the barn roof and without damaging the adjacent barn.

Additionally, Virginia Tree Specialists worked directly with my insurance company to greatly streamline the removal process.

Patrick’s Virginia Tree Specialist crew was professional, polite, and pleasant. They were careful to put down protective pads under their heavy equipment to avoid damage to our turf. They thoroughly cleaned up debris at the end of the job and left our property looking great!

For me, Virginia Tree Specialists are the go-to tree people!

Virgnia tree specialists certainly have the experience to do anything regarding tree work right the first time. We have used their services 4 times and have not been disappointed with their work. They have cut down trees, trimmed trees, and saved trees on our property. I would highly recommend them.

These guys showed up when they said they would. They gave me a lot of options as to how they would do the work which helped me with the overall cost. They worked extremely hard and finished the project in 2 days like they said. They were very careful and protected my other trees and lawn area. And everything was cleaned up before they left. I’ve used this company at our old farm and at the new farm. We’ve always been happy with their work.

I have used Patrick Shope’s tree service over several decades. This time, we had one dead tree overhanging a power line. Another tree was hanging over our house and needed to be removed. I watched his bucket guy remove branches, dropping them to the ground and never touching the roof, the deck or even a small rhododendron around the tree. Theses guys are total pros, and unfailingly polite and willing to change directions as needed. I would never think of using anyone else for this type of work.

What an excellent company to deal with. I would give them ten if I could. Prompt, courteous service, efficient and made one feel comfortable taking down a very large tree that almost fell on your house.

Highly recommend! We had a tree fall through our house during a storm. The insurance company contacted Paul Davis Restoration, and they sent out VTS to remove the tree from the roof. Patrick and his team at VTS were very efficient and professional!!

Had major clean up done after the 2022 winter blizzard damaged many of our evergreens. Had a 120ft Poplar by the house removed and 2 hickory trees trimmed. Patrick gave us the initial inspection and Alyssa helped coordinate. Kevin came out 1st day of major work and then Mike came back to run stump grinding and move the wood. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and no BS. Strongly recommend. Very genuine group that took very good care of our property. The crews pulled along trash cans and removed all scraps from our yard. I had a huge tree uproot and damage my house. VTS was contacted through Paul Davis Restoration who was contacted by my insurance company. Patrick was quick to respond and call me directly to schedule coming out. It was a Saturday and supposed to be his day off and the weather was terrible; but he and his crew cleared the tree enough to board up the broken windows and door. He returned on Monday to finish the rest of the tree work that insurance covered. Since we were so impressed by his work and the price he quoted was fair, we hired VTS to clear six more trees from our property. The disaster happened on a Saturday and by the following Wednesday, my property was completely cleared of all trees, the stumps were ground, and my yard was seeded and straw was placed. I am so impressed and pleased with the work that Patrick and his crew at VTS did.

I was extremely impressed with the skills and professionalism of VTS! They removed 12 trees and stumps and neatly stacked the wood. They also mulched on site and left my yard clean from all tree debris. I would not try another company - VTS is an impressive business. This winter has been brutal on trees and I am thankful I made the decision to have VTS come over and remove dangerous trees near my house. Very happy with Virginia tree specialist, I had two large trees that needed some trimming. Their team was on time and very professional. The end product looks better than I imagined. All the debris cleaned up and taken off site so I didn't even have to worry about it. Especially happy I don't have to worry about tree limbs falling and damaging my house anymore. I would hands down recommend them and definitely will use them again in the future!

I called VTS/Patrick based on the reviews that I found here, and my experience with Patrick and his crew confirms every single positive review you see here. He showed up when scheduled, listened to what we wanted done and came up with many helpful suggestions along the way. The job included cutting down several very very tall trees and a number of smaller ones near our house in tight quarters, stump grinding, chipping up everything and hauling out many many older logs from prior owner, then they graded, seeded and strawed it all so it looks like a beautiful park area and not an overgrown wasteland. He and his crew are thorough, neat and conscientious, took care of everything!

I had a huge oak tree land on my house. Patrick and his crew were AMAZING! They removed the tree with no damage to the yard, house, landscaping, etc. It was a tremendous undertaking. Patrick Shope and his crew at VTS are some of the hardest workers I have ever met. A days work from them is plus plus! They never even stopped to eat! They are very polite, know what they are doing and how to get it done efficiently and very pleasant to work with and responsive! I needed trees taken down, others trimmed, stumps removed, land cleared and then to be graded and seeded. They got it all done and then some. I was blown away by how good everything looked afterward. I got more than I expected.

We had a great experience with VTS. Patrick came out and took the time to listen and understand what we wanted, and worked with us to get the right plan for our yard. His crew was fantastic. They showed up right at 8am and gave us a full days work both days. Really professional crew I was impressed. They did anything I asked no questions. A well-oiled team transformed our yard from overgrown to spectacular in about 3 days. They removed 45 trees, ground out those stumps plus several more, cleaned up the debris, and left us ready to grow grass where the sun hadn't shown in years. We're supremely pleased with their professionalism and with the skill all members showed. They have both insurance AND workman's comp.
