Would not do business with him ever again. Total bully. I was in a bind and I think he knew it. Gave me a ridiculously high estimate and then gave me a "deal" and I took it. I saw all the red flags but ignored them. Major mistake. The work wasn't bad... very standard. Not awesome. But when he was done, he was extremely pushy with getting paid. I had to travel for work, and he knew that but instead of sending high definition photos, he sent low res photos so I couldn't examine the work very well. He was super pissed that i asked for better pictures before I paid him. Fast forward... I saw a big brown spot on the siding and couldn't tell what it was. He said it was "dust". He got super pissed when i asked him to see if he could remove it and he was like.. you mean i got to send my foreman back out there because of dust? I was like... well, i just want to make sure it's not a flaw. Long story short, it was a smudge or something and the foreman fixed it. At that point in time i was happy to pay. I had talked to him originally and told him that i could mail a check or pay via card... whatever was easiest for him. He said that card was fine so I was like awesome... here's the info. Well, he decided to add a "credit card fee" without telling me. I have the original document that i signed with the total price and the document that he added a fee to (without showing me and without me signing). I asked him to remove it since we didn't agree on the fee and he said no.. that he deserved it because he did "good" work. Long story short... he has my money and I think at this point it'd be more stress to get it back than to let him keep it.
So here's my warning... don't use him. I'm happy to show anyone the text messages between us. It's bad. Super unprofessional.
I'll be honest, based on the reviews being either really old or really negative I was pretty skeptical, but after seven months of other roofers not returning my calls, or hearing my situation and disappearing I was pretty desperate for some help and Terrells kept popping up on TV. I left a message and got a call from David the next day asking for more info about my roofing problem, what documentation I had, and we discussed my situation. I had to pay out of pocket due to insurance insanity and that was something he worked with me on. We had some back and forth emails and several more phone calls before we came to a final agreement for the roof replacement. Terrells was ~19K vs 28K from another company for a Class Four roof, and replacement vents. I'm under the impression David's kind of a one man show in organizing the logistics, so, I tried to stay in frequent contact and make sure things were still progressing. They did good work as far as I saw. I had a leak before the replacement, didn't leak the night of the replacement when it rained, so we're off to a good start! I think many of the negative reviews are due to not being an active partner in the process and trying to help keep everything flowing, just based on my gut impression.
I have other home improvements that need to be done, and I plan on using Terrells again, so I'm a satisfied customer!
Accused my wife of wanting attention just because we requested a bid for siding and windows. Tore up his form with our name and address and threw it out his car window. Said our job was too small, wouldn't pay for the rims on his lexus. Reported him and.his hair implants to BBB. This happened in 2006
