Thought I was going to a LineX dealer. Only to discover that this company has switched to Mil-Spec Liners. Let me just start with, Smart Move!! I absolutely love the way the liner turned out!! Especially since this was done in a 20yr old truck that had a drop in liner. Couldn't ask for better Customer Service and the techs did an amazing job! I highly recommend Suffolk Truck Center and the product they're using.

This happened a few years ago in 2019 but my friend recently asked me about where to get her truck done and it made me realize that I had never gotten around to leaving a review, even though I think about this experience every time I drive by Line X of Suffolk. I understand this was a while ago and it may not pertain to their current operations, but then again, it also might. So if anything, I'm leaving this here as a form of catharsis.

My husband had made an appointment for 1 pm on May 29th, 2019 to bring our Ford F350 dually in for a spray liner. I pulled into the lot and went to go inside, but the front door was locked. A lady finally appeared and seemed confused (and somewhat rude) as to how I could have a 1 pm appointment, as they were on their lunch break for another hour or so. I just told her what I knew, that my husband had scheduled it, and I don't know where or how the miscommunication occurred. But these things happen, and it wasn't a big deal. I had a book and could wait.

But apparently, since 1pm wasn't an actual option (despite us scheduling it with them), there were no openings for the rest of the day, so they wanted to reschedule it. That's also fine. I get it. We made the new appointment for the next week.

The lady wanted to look at my truck, so we went around to the bed, where I had a plastic liner already in place (the kind you just set inside the bed. The liner covered the whole bed and went up the sides of the bed as well. It had been there for years and was in good shape and well attached.)

This is where things take a turn.

She said that before I come back next time, the plastic liner will need to be removed and the bed thoroughly cleaned. I asked her if that's something they do (I don't know the first thing about removing those liners, or how clean the bed needs to be for them to start work), and she looked at me, shaking her head, laughed and said "No. You have to do it. We're not set up for cleaning it out."

That was where they lost me. That laugh. A rude, condescending, unnecessary laugh that was just the icing on the cake of this whole experience. If she had been nice and professional, I wouldn't have had a problem. Removing the dang thing would have been a pain, but I would have figured it out. But that laugh instantly turned me off. It was a laugh that said "how could this lady have the audacity to ask such a thing or expect such a service?" It was unexpected and disheartening and inappropriate.

I responded with an "Okay" bid goodbye and then canceled my rescheduled appointment with them the next day.

My husband made an appointment with Line-X Chesapeake and we specifically asked if we needed to rip out the current liner and clean the bed and the guy said "Nope, all I need from you are the keys". Now that experience was fantastic and is where our other 4 vehicles have gone for their liners.

It's amazing how far friendliness and professionalism can go, and it's even more amazing how a single moment of rudeness can destroy a person's impression of you. It's not hard to laugh afterward once the customer has gone.

I'm sure they've done good work for others, but that interaction left a sour taste in my mouth.

Edited to response to the Owner: The date was May 29th, 2019 for a 1pm appointment under the name Steven Lynn for a 2005 black Ford F350 Super Duty Dually. I also have a Facebook Message telling my husband that they couldn't do the liner, dated for that day as well. We were confused about the odd lunch and appointment timing as well. And the lady I spoke to was a middle age or slightly older lady with short blonde hair. I am not the woman from the Chesapeake location and it's an unfortunate coincidence that we have the same first name. They were the closest location after yours so that's the next place we tried.

I’m my humble opinion customer service is becoming a dying art. Supply issues and staff issues is the post-pandemic excuse. Suffolk Line-X DOES NOT have those issues. They are fantastic. The ladies at store immediately showed products that would make my ride nice. I bought a bed cover, to finalize my dream truck. I will never go anywhere else for my accessories. Including the nameless dealership that has customer service issues or is it just paying attention to the customer who has money to buy stuff. Anyway Suffolk LIne-X will continue to earn my money and anybody else that wants to be treated like a good customer when you want to purchase an item.

So it took 2-3 months to get my bed cover on for my 2021 Ram 2500 Power wagon with Ram Boxes and cargo management... you maybe thinking 5 stars for a long wait time (materials only, install took an hour...) and I don't care much for the vehicle.....
Well let me explain with that vehicle and set up I was limited on my bed cover selection, with that said there was 1 that I liked for it....
Here is where the 5 stars come into play. This team does not play around with quality at all, if the parts didn't come in perfect they have no problem sending it back (litterally 8 times for 1 rail). They don't put subpar parts on their own vehicles and treat their customers vehicles the same way. It might have been a long wait time (yes it was frustrating but understandable) because of this I know I have quality materials and a quality install. Thank you all for your due diligence and attention to detail.

Took my boat for a quote on spraying the deckand was told 2-3 thousand dollars without a firm quote. And was told custom color would be another 400.00. This place is i ripoff. Immediately went to Yorktown Line-X and got a firm quote of 1300.00 with color. Yorktown store put Suffolk store to shame.

Great place to get accessories for your vehicle, had a cover put on my truck and it took less than 45 minutes, had a tailgate issue (not of their doing) and they told me to bring it back and had it fixed in less than10 minutes. Awesome people! Awesome company!

I am a attention to detail man who ran a customer service business for 30 years. I drive a 6 year old garage kept truck that looks today like it did when it was new. Line-X of Suffolk delivered and treated me like family. This Veteran owned business started 14 years ago. Spend your hard earned money with this awesome family.

Thanks, Bryan

Shelly and the team at Suffolk Line-X are incredible!!
I drove 3 hours and passed TWO other Line-X facilities to return to them! Professional, friendly, courteous, and QUALITY workmanship are what you can expect and they WILL deliver! Because of the current pandemic, made an appointment without any issues and when I got there they took my truck right away - no waiting at all .... AWESOME experience all the way around - THANK YOU Shelly and your team!! They will continue to have my business no matter how far away I am from Suffolk Line-X!!!

I recently bought a new dump truck which we wrapped but the bumper required painting to match. After speaking with these fine folks they had a solution and we decided to have it Line-x. It turned out amazing and they've definitely earned my business for all future projects. I encourage anyone to give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much for your help on the project!

Shelley and her team provided top notch service!
I was early for my appoint by 30 minutes and they were in the middle of a project, Once they were at a good stopping point they took my truck back to install the access cover trifecta 2.0! And talk about fast and precise they installed the cover in only 10 minutes and had my truck out ready for me check out. This is top notch service from a small business at these unprecedented times and they are appreciated!
Thank you and your team for an amazing experience! I would refer you to everyone in the market for bed covers or coatings.

I feel like they may do good work. I do not care for their customer service. I had tried to schedule an appointment with them after they had started taking customers again from during the pandemic. I spoke with the lady in charge of scheduling the first week. She told me she had to get a work order number from the dealership. I wait two days and call them back. The nice lady tells me she still hasn’t emailed them. So, nothing happens the first three days at all. I call back and try to get an appointment scheduled for a Thursday or Friday. The nice lady tells me that Line X is filling spots as they become available and that she’ll call me when a spot opens up. Sounded good to me. I hang up because this is their job. Surely they’ll call me back. Wrong. I emailed them last night (at this point two weeks have gone by). I received no response. So, I called them this morning to schedule an appointment. The nice lady tells me that “she was just thinking about me”. Good so I should be able to get an appointment soon right? She tells me that the earliest appointment I can get is the 17th of this month. This would be a total of 4 weeks since I initially called and 3 months since I bought my truck. After I complained she offered an appointment for tomorrow. Thursday. 6/4/2020. So, I went from two weeks minimum to tomorrow. She also told me that at this time they are not scheduling appointments on Fridays. Had I been informed of this I could have done a Thursday. I was incredibly patient with these people. I don’t know what I could have done differently. I repeatedly called and emailed. All I got was “I forgot” each time. If you have $500.00 to spend on your truck, do yourself a favor and give your money to someone that cares about your business. If this is inaccurate. Check when the work order was given to you. Ask the employee that takes calls how many times they called me. The answer is ZERO. I was begging them to take my money. Maybe this can save someone else some trouble. Or, be foolish and don’t learn from someone else’s mistakes. Read the response below. Not one single time was I ever called by them. My emails were sent through their automated system which I’m now certain they got because I was told “she was think about it last night”. Facts are facts. No calls. No email. Nothing from them. The owner also notes that they went out of their way to get a work order number for me. I neglected to thank them for attempting to secure funds for THEIR BUSINESS after three days. I guess they think they really did me a favor? Subpar at best.

I’m an independent contractor and I partner with small businesses in the area. I visited this store while I was visiting one of my clients. My colleague and I walked in the store were 2 ladies and a gentleman where at the counter. No one greeted us. We greeted them and the only response we got was “what do you need”. We told her who we were and she stated she was not interested.

I actually own an pickup truck that could use a nice bed coating and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to approach this business. They were unprofessional and uninviting. Be careful of how you treat strangers , greet everyone no matter what! Everyone that comes through your door is a potential customer.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
