Homeowners insurance was going to cancel my insurance because after 50 years or residency I didn't have railings on my front stoop. Mr. Sturkey was recommended to me and I contacted him. He came early the next day, examined the job and gave me an equitable quote. Once accepted he and his crew showed up early the following week with everything they needed to do the job. His men were polite, very professional and workmanlike, knowledgeable, and didn't waste their time idling about. The job was completed in less than a day and looks good. Neighbors have commented on the job and the appearance of the new railings; and insurance company was pleased.
As a I said, Mr. Sturkey is a professional as are his crew members. They proceeded with no unnecessary delays or excuses. They were on time and didn't waste materials. The work was accomplished quickly and with quality. My questions were answered politely and professionally.
I will surely consider Mr. Sturkey and his services again when I have other construction projects to be done.

Oh, yes. They even hung my microwave for me when the porch railings were completed!!

I don’t like working with contractors. I’ve used several over my past 30+ years living in Walterboro.
Johnnie Sturkey has been easy to work with and reasonably priced.
He did some exterior repairs on my 90 year old home about 2 years ago and just finished reroofing that same home today.
His crew is hard working and they take pride in their work. I would definitely recommend him based on my experience.

So nice to see there are still a few great businesses out there! After an unfortunate natural disaster and calls to multiple construction companies in the area, Sturkey Construction was the ONLY one to call us back. Not only that, he called us the same day, came out and gave us a quote, and worked consistently until the job was completed. More importantly, he delivered quality work and honest communication. We now know who to call should we need construction help in the future and who to let others know to trust with their construction jobs.

Excellent Company. The workers showed up when i was told and did an outstanding job. Silvio , the foreman, was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond, he obviously takes pride in his work. Cleanup was superb after the job was complete there were no signs that they had been there other than a beautiful new roof. Pricing was excellent and owner Jonnie Sturkey was great to work with, answered all my questions, and returned phone calls in a timely manner. Again great company and i would recommend them to anyone for all their construction needs.
