My kids and I were driving through Iowa on a road trip to see family in Indiana and we picked up a screw in our tire that couldn’t be patched and was loosing air quickly. It was after 5pm and we had zero clue of anything in this area but we knew we had to act fast. We were recommended this place after THREE other tire/repair shops couldn’t help us - no options of replacement of our specific tire. 2nd Street Repair was a lifesaver and found the fastest and safest solution for us to get back on the road. We are SO grateful for their help!

Traveling on Interstate 80. I met up with a possum. It broke the protection cover under my car and was dragging. I wanted to make sure nothing else was broken before heading back to Colorado. Travis was very helpful. He checked out my car underneath and added air to my tires and reassured me everything look fine! Thanks for helping me!

We got a flat. We are 24 hours from our origin and 12 hours from our destination. We are in a small town, almost nothing is open. The places we did find couldn't get our wheel off. These guys came to us to assess our situation. Got us back to their shop. Replaced the tire and the lug nuts to get around the issue of us not been given the wheel lock key when the car was purchased. Amazing service. Amazing hospitality!!!! Thanking God for this place!

Honestly hands down the best shop in town. They came in clutch in replacing our tire. We was on a 37 hour trip and got a flat. Most places didn't have the tire and my car had a special lock lug nut that all the shops didn't have. He was able to replace my tire in a timely manner and offer to replace all the log nuts so we didn't have to run into the issue of finding a special log nut to get the tires off since they where after market. Places like these will always have your back on the rapairs. I highly recommend him

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We had car trouble in the middle of nowhere Iowa—during a thunderstorm, no less—and Scott from Second Street Repair truly came to the rescue. He was incredibly kind and helpful, picked us up, and had us back on the road within an hour. An absolute godsend during a stressful situation.

We found ourselves stranded off I-80 late at night after waiting hours for AAA, who ultimately couldn’t help us. That’s when Second Street Repair came to the rescue. Scott showed up around 11pm, towed us back to his shop, and went above and beyond to get us back on the road with a used tire that saved the day. His professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help so late at night was truly incredible. We’re beyond grateful for the service and can’t recommend Second Street Repair highly enough. My alternator went out and I was sitting in a dead car on the side of I-80 during the coldest day of the year. I called Second Street Repair and they were able to accurately diagnose my issue over the phone, and Scott promptly came and picked me up and towed my car in. He set me up with a motel for the night and picked me up again in the morning. Scott and his crew worked into the night to ensure I could get back on the road and make it to Omaha in time. They charged me a very reasonable price. It is good to know there are honest and genuine people out there, like the folks at Second Street Repair.

I had the best experience with Second Street Repair today. On our way home from holiday travels, our vehicle was overheating. To make a long story short, we had to leave our car at a different shop and have a family member pick us up 90 minutes from home. When we traveled back and picked it up, the vehicle overheated within 10 miles. Not wanting to return to a shop that did us no good, we turned to Google and found Second Street. We called and got the owner (his name is escaping me) who came out with his tow truck and got us within 20 minutes. He got the problem fixed while we waited in a comfortable waiting area. We were back on the road in about 2 hours with a FIXED vehicle.
I can't say enough good things about this shop. When you are 90 minutes from home, you are at the mercy of whomever is available. (Something I think the 1st shop took full advantage of.) We were treated with nothing but kindness. The shop was clean, and everyone who we encountered, including a cat and a dog, was so nice. The employees and regular customers had an easy rapport that only comes with trustworthy relationships. Pricing was more than fair.
If you are stranded on I80 near Atlantic - don't panic, Second Street will get you going. My advice would be to get there even if a different shop is closer. It will be worth a bigger tow bill to get to a place you can trust.

I broke down on the highway in the middle of a 17 hour road trip with no friends or family living near by to help. I called second street for help towing my vehicle safely away from the highway and have it checked to see if it can be fixed at all. Scott was incredibly kind and recommended a locally owned Motel that would accept the dog we were traveling with and covered the initial payment for us since my friends and I didn't have cash to pay, and quickly got back to us to update that my car's motor was done for and wanted us to know asap so we could try to figure out what we'd do. When we found an interstate car rental we could use, the closest ones were an hour away. Scott went out of his way to find us someone who could drive us there, again covering the initial payment for us to guarantee that we could get back on the road sooner than later. My friends and I were able to get back on the road the day after my car broke down because of Scott and his crew doing such a good job and going above and beyond what their job asks of them. If I'm ever near Atlantic Iowa I'd go back to second street repair, the people are kind, trustworthy and do an amazing job with their work. Second Street Repair is one of the few car repair shops I know works to earn every single dollar they ask for and I feel so incredibly lucky to have broken down nearby, if it weren't for Scott and his crew we wouldn't have gotten home as quickly as we did.

Late in the evening when all other shops were closed, I had a tire shread on me and another bulge. Second Street Repair brought me new tires and rims on the side of the road and changed them for no extra cost!!! Definitely recomend!!!

We were on the side of the road late in the evening with a shredded tire, they came out to where we were and changed both of our tires on our trailer for us. They did it very fast and we were on the road again within ten minutes after they got there. All for a decent price.

I was in a tough spot when my truck and trailer broke down on I-80, and Scott came to the rescue in literally under an hour!
Not only did he tow me to safety, but he also went above and beyond by fixing a broken transmission line that other local mechanics refused to touch because they thought it was too difficult or would take too long.

What truly stood out was his exceptional customer service. Lots of tow truck drivers/mechanics aren’t the nicest people but Scott was def 1 in a million! He was professional, friendly, and took the time to explain everything he was doing.
From start to finish, the entire process took under two hours, and I was back on the road in no time. If you’re ever in need of towing or mechanical services, I highly recommend Scott with Second Street Repair!!

Broke down on the interstate and AAA hadn’t sent anyone after 3 hours of waiting. These guys got there in 10 minutes and had the car ready in a day and a half

Our car died while on a trip near Atlantic. We had to get towed and tried calling AAA but we’re waiting hours for no response or eta. We called Second street repair and Steve was out there right away and able to grab the car. He was also able to fix it that same weekend so while we were coming back he let us pick it up on Sunday. Offers great response time, great pricing, and great service!! Highly recommend for your car needs.

Had a Great experience! We were on 80 and got a screw in our tire. We called and had imeadate help after hours to help get our tire patched. We were back on the road in no time. Owner was very nice and very helpful. Will highly recommend!

This place is amazing! I broke down in my diesel truck pulling a 5th wheel RV, on the side of I-80, while my boyfriend was doing Ragbrai. I found this place on google and they came and got me within 30 minutes. Scott was very reassuring as I don’t usually drive the truck/rv and I was by myself. These people go the extra mile. They were able to tow the truck and rv attached, got all the work done and we were back in the road within 12 hours. Very reasonable prices and there is a super cute shop cat to welcome you and keep you company while you wait. Definitely call these people. They treat you like family. 10/10 would recommend.

I am so impressed with the service from Second Street Repair. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I was driving a support vehicle for RAGBRAI bike tour, and the truck had a slipping transmission. Second Street mechanics fit me into their busy day, diagnosed and fixed my issue so I could continue on my way. I’m so grateful!

Amazing company! My son locked the keys in my truck while running at a campground setting up our rv and they had someone out in less then 30min after hours on a Friday night. They where great to work with and the price was beyond fare for the after hours unlock!

Our fifth wheel broke down on I80. Ugh! Luckily we found Scott at Second Street Repair. Busted wheel bearings and damaged the hub and brakes. Fortunately, axle wasn’t broken. Despite his busy work schedule, he knew the stress we were under while on the road back home to CO and he went out of his way to help us. Super knowledgeable & friendly. Reasonable price. called him at 7am , and we were back on the road at 3pm. Grateful we found him. Thank you Scott!!!

We broke down in Atlantic after calling a few other shops and being told it would be $300 for a jump! Second Street Repair came towed it and changed the altenator within a couple hours on a Saturday late afternoon!

My husband and I are full time RVrs. We had an overnight stop planned for Lake Anita SP. As we pulled in the campground our transmission gave out in our truck. When I had car trouble off of I80, they quickly met us on the roadside. They offered to look the car over and informed me that the car was safe to drive until I got back to my hometown. They saved me a towing bill and the headache of trying to have my car fixed while out of town. Would highly recommend them!!!

Broke down on the interstate driving cross country late at night on a Sunday. I was able to limp my truck to their shop and I called the number on the door, the gentlemen recommended a cheap motel and saw me first thing in the morning, they set aside time out of their busy schedule and saw my vehicle first thing to help me get back on the road. The price was very fair and if I lived nearby they would be the mechanic shop I would choose to look after my vehicles. Very clean shop full of cool things to look at while you wait, very professional and knowledgeable team. Thank you again.

Scott with Second Street Repair is the most honest trustworthy business person I have ever met. He assisted me with towing my vehicle from I-80 to repair shop in Omaha. I thought my transmission went out - but he diagnosed it for free for me and informed me it was probably a CV Joint or rod that was broken not the transmission - savings me thousands of dollars on repair. I would recommend Second Street Repair to everyone for outstanding quality and amazing customer service.

My wife and I were on the way from Omaha to Des Moines for a weekend and our car broke down on the interstate halfway there. AAA said they couldn't help us. Then a local recommended we call 2nd Street repair. Scott, the business owner, drove over 30 min both ways to tow our car at 6pm on a Friday.

He diagnosed the problem and ordered a replacement part on the drive to his shop. He replaced our alternator and did a basic inspection of the rest of our car and gave us some really good suggestions for future maintenance. He charged us far below what we researched the standard price for an alternator replacement and he did it all before 8:00pm. He did it all by himself while he was missing out on his family dinner! (I'm sure his wife had a few words but I wish I could thank her on his behalf!)

He literally saved our weekend and we got to Des Moines and back with zero problems after that.

On top of all that, he was super personable and fun to talk to. My wife and I both left feeling not only relieved, but also like we had made a new friend.

Second Street Repair is a lifesaver! I got stranded on the side of the road because my alternator went out, and everything nearby was closed. Scott came and towed me back to his shop 30 minutes away and fixed the alternator that night so my trip was barely impacted. His pricing was super reasonable, he was super helpful and kind, and not only a great mechanic but also an interesting person to talk to. I highly recommend this business!

5 stars isn’t enough. I cannot thank Scott enough for the kindness he showed my family. We were having a nightmare of a spring break. Our vehicle broke down in while visiting the CO springs area. Long story short, we were taken advantage of by a “repair center” there and sent on our way. Our vehicle broke down again with the same issue at 11pm at night in Iowa, leaving us stranded 400 miles from home. After calling 3 other tow services who recommended we call someone else, Scott answered. I was frustrated about the situation, as well as confused about being in an unfamiliar place. Scott was quick to calm me down and figure out where we were. He had our vehicle on the tow truck within 30 minutes. He then organized our lodging for the evening, as well as drove myself, my wife, and our 3 children to the hotel personally. He called early next morning to inform us of the diagnosis. He had us back on the road by noon the next day. I’m happy to report we made it back home with zero issues. After being swindled by numerous mechanics/auto repair personnel, Scott has restored my faith in the profession. We most likely will never see him again, but it would be impossible for my family to discuss our Spring Break 2022 and not reflect on our positive interaction with Scott and 2nd Street.

I was traveling on I 80 when my HHR began making exhaust noise and lots of it. The muffler had cracked clean in two from rust (wisconsin winters). Second Street repair was recommended after a short search for help. They got me in right away and I even got to watch the repair process. A few moments of friendly conversation, a bit of cutting and welding, and a very reasonable bill later I was on my way. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Bonus points there is a lot of cool stuff to look at around the shop.

We were on a cross country RV trip in our new motorhome and had a rear tire blowout. Technician at Second Street dropped what he was doing and fixed our tire that had a screw in it. very reasonable price and fast service. Thanks again guys you saved our trip.

After driving over 1000 miles in the course of 15 or so hours, my car left me stranded on the interstate at the bottom of a hill on a bridge just 80 or so miles shy of my destination. Having to get it towed the rest of the way isn't cheap.. but a tow in the city just a mile would be $80 minimum, so based on how far i had left to go, id say it was a fair shake. Would recommend.

Opened up shop for my brother-in-law Saturday evening on a holiday weekend when he had a blowout. Super friendly and and helpful. 12/10 recommendation

After our tire blew on the interstate, we called multiple other shops. We stumbled on this one. The other shops had refused to show up and Scott (the owner) was there within 20 minutes, fixed our tire issue, and was so pleasant and efficient. He did not act put out at all even though it was after hours. He was a stand up guy and I HIGHLY recommend him for any and all your vehicle needs. Whether it’s passing through or you’re a local to the area, he will take care of you.

We had to get an emergency towing and tire change near midnight and they were super professional and nice about it. Despite being near midnight the prices weren't super extreme at all, pretty good value.

Quick convenient estimate before they do anything fairly priced. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know. It's hard to find a mechanic that you can trust these days. Very trustworthy and honest. They never over promised or under delivered.

Scott has come to get myself and my vehicle from the Interstate late at night and even taken me home before heading back to Atlantic. The service is fantastic and the prices are great also. Late night call to get my mom's car unstuck from the snow. Was very helpful and professional. Not only was the price more than reasonable, he returned to help and remove the snow from our driveway so it wouldn't happen again. Amazingly kind! Not too many people like that these days!
