I thought long and hard before writing this review of RN Contractors. The owner Nafees Mohammad gives a lot to any customer. To me he gave absolutely reliable, solid construction in the framing aspect of my job; lower pricing because I shared my price goal with him and he matched my goal; difficulty in communication due to: 1. his need on an almost daily basis for reassurance that I was happy with his work, and 2. If I texted more than one sentence composed of a few words, he needed to talk to me to get the message instead of following my text; and quite poor finishing results, in my case the finishing screws on the underside of wall cabinets which were hopelessly botched. So badly that I said nothing, because he could not possibly make it better.

Mr. Mohammad is a charming individual. He does care deeply about the happiness of his customers. That is one of his top qualities. Because of this, he will negotiate downward over details with which you are not happy. However, he does things throughout the job (if your job is more than a few days long – mine was 4.5 months) that he tells you are free and because he wants to please you. Then he uses those “freebies” against you in negotiating any reductions to the contract due to work change and suggests that he could charge you for the freebies.

All in all, if your job is mostly framing or beam construction, you are likely to get extremely good work from RN Contractors and to have a very pleasurable contractor to work with. If your job has complexities and will involve sub contractors that you are paying for, be prepared to do all coordination of and with those sub-contractors yourself. And if your job involves more than a few days of time, be prepared for there never being a schedule and for Mr. Mohammad never providing you with a committed finishing date. That is how my job of 4.5 months went.

Recently, I hired RN Contractor to remodeling my basement. I am tickle pink. Love it. ❤️ Excellent work. Did not disappoint.

Contractor designed and installed a replacement bathroom for a small hall bathroom space. they were on budget and on time despite dealing with some furnishing supply delays. the new bathroom is beautiful as can be seen in the pictures the contractor has. i have attached one picture.

He was easy to work with and willing to take on a smaller project ( just a storm door installation). On time and professional. I appreciate that he was willing to text, email or call making it easy to communicate.

Mohamed and his team installed am interior door in our basement as well as some recessed lighting. It looks very nice and we are pleased with how it turned out in the end.

All the work that was done met our high expectations and wishes. Work was done efficiently and expertly. We love the finished look of our bathroom renovation! Thank you, Mohammad!

Did the work when scheduled and had to work around a crazy timeline. They repaired termite damage for a real estate sale. I would definitely use them and recommend their work.

I wanted to upgrade my bathroom. It involved removal of the old tub and shower, building a custom walk-in shower and a new vanity. RN Contractors worked with me to create a good working plan, provided tile replacement recommendations, color schemes and various other valued guidance to complete the project and stay within a cost effective budget.
I am very pleased with the quality of work, the professionalism and dedication of a job well done.

Mohammad just completed a remodel of our entire house staircase. He replaced the wooden balusters with iron ones. He showed up exactly when he promised and knew exactly what he was doing. He finished the job in a quick time frame and his workmanship was very clean and professional. We have used a lot of contractors in the past but Mohammad has far exceeded our expectations and has set the bar high for all contractors. We will be using him again for any and all of our future jobs.

We had a metal balcony post replaced. RN Contractors provided excellent service and updates through the entire process. They finished the work as quickly as possibly and their cost was more than reasonable as they came in at nearly half the cost of another service provider. Even at the lower cost their service, quality of work, and professionalism always remained at a high level. We will use them for any future work and recommend them.

Update: im editing this review because after looking through the execution of certain things its clear that things should have been looked over more closely. Initally we did not notice the damage on the vanity; now it has gitten progressively worse.

Mohammad had subcontractors throughout the projects who did the installation of recess light in the living room very well. He stuck to the schedule he provided and kept us abreast of any issues.

Mohammad is a great contractor and has a great team. I had my back door replaced, a hole fixed in my downstairs ceiling, and a leak. I will continue to use him for all my work.

RN Contractor's are number one in my book, great to work with, informative, and just all around good people. You have to get them for your next project.

Mohammad is a professional that will go the extra mile to meet your needs. He did an excellent job installing a bathroom exhaust fan and diverting our clothes dryer exhaust duct from the garage through roof. He even took on some urgent work I needed on my roof last minute. I would definitely use him again.

Mohammed did my home renovation from top to bottom. There is a saying "the person you speak with the most is the person you're in a relationship with". During the renovation I spoke with Mohammed daily; that's how much he kept me informed and was committed to my home. He's easy to work with, polite and punctual.

Mohammad did a great job with installing a few ceiling fans on vaulted ceilings and a large dining room light fixture. He was on time, professional and did a great job on the installations as well as provided additional information and thoughts on future projects. I would recommend RN Contractors and I plan on using them in the future.

Mohammad is a real pleasure to work with on home renovation projects. He is always very responsive, respectful, and a true professional. Mohammad does a good job explaining his plan to tackle the job. He even takes time to explain his backup plan if the first plan doesn’t workout. For the record, both of the projects he worked on at our house were successful with his first plan. We have had two successful high quality projects done by RN Contractors for very reasonable pricing. Highly recommend their services.

Mr. Nafees did an excellent job on installing pavers in the backyard of our previous home. He was patient and worked with us to plan and design the backyard, guided us on identifying the right pavers, and addressing our drainage concerns. He installed a French drain, waited until the AC unit could be securely moved out of the way of the project, and oversight the work personally.
BC of his great customer service and high quality of work, we will be using his services in our current home as well.

Mr. Mohammad made reasonable recommendations on resolving my installation of major appliances and cabinet issues. Additionally his team installed a sliding door in my family room. I recommend this contractor.

Nafees does any remodeling job well. I needed to replace the main door to my house. He advised me on all door specs and we worked together on installation costs. When the installation took place he made sure everything was to my satisfaction. I place a lot of trust in his recommendations and the quality of his work. I highly recommend RN Contractors for any home improvement and construction project. He will treat you right. I have used RN Contractors for many jobs over the past 6 years and have always been completely satisfied.

Mr. Mohammad does exceptional work. When we needed some work done on a bathroom remodel, he received our patronage after a compelling bid. We were not disappointed in our choice. The work was done to order, and Mr. Mohammad was ready with updates and answers to frequent questions. I wanted a stand-alone 14’ x 16’ sunroom with fireplace located 500’ from my house in Haymarket on a 10-acre lot. In September 2017, I solicited 4 bids. Mr. Mohammad’s bid as the owner of RN Contractors was the lowest. I’ve known always to be suspicious of the lowest bid so I checked him out and interviewed him thoroughly. I found no negatives and liked his attitude, so I hired him in October 2017. He started late January 2018 after homeowner association approval delays.

By April 2018 it was complete. I loved it! Exactly what I wanted. He meticulously followed my instructions and asked dozens of questions for planning up front and as it progressed. He hired quality competent and dependable sub-contractors for the concrete, brick, windows, electrical and roof. He did the carpentry personally. He was there almost 100% of the time any sub-contractor was there. He explained what he was doing almost every day and treated the project as his own. He respected my wishes and I adopted many of his suggestions.

I prefer small contractors over large ones in general because of my own small business background. With a small business, you deal directly with the owner, who is usually a better choice than a mid-level construction supervisor you get with a large contractor.

Mr. Mohammad was perfect for this job and he fulfilled all his promises, and for a reasonable price. He is easy to reach by telephone, his carpentry work is outstanding and he is a tireless worker and supervisor.

Now, 22 months later, I still love what he did. I would recommend him to anyone.
