Exacting, extremely skilled, reliable, communicative, kind — Collin did an amazing job helping us renovate our Harrisonburg basement. Highly recommended!

Reconstructive Renovations updated our kitchen and it was a fantastic experience start to finish. We were slated to be in the Virginia Home & Garden show April 2023. Which gave me 6 months to redo my kitchen. I had some ideas of what I wanted our kitchen to look like, but I lacked the carpentry skills or manpower to do it myself. So I asked Collin to come give me his thoughts. We started with the basics. We had lived in the existing kitchen for 7 years and so I told him what I liked and didn’t like and on the spot he gave me his ideas (some builder substantive ideas and some decorative stylistic ideas). He suggested creative solutions to things that weren’t working at the time and he had real life examples of where to go to look for things / photos of past jobs.
1). He started w refinishing the lower cabinets (sanding and staining dark).
2) Refinished existing brass cabinet hardware.
3) Removed a corner 2nd sink and 2nd garbage disposal and replaced with an ice machine (we entertain a lot with cocktails). 4) Replaced a leaking sub zero frig for a shorter Bosch w wine drawer which required him to create a new second cabinet above the new frig to match an existing cabinet to take up now available space (which turned out flawless as if that cabinet was always there). And on frig delivery day Collin made sure he was at my house so that he could level and set the frig correctly.
5) Removed upper cabinets then he built, sanded and stained 3 new upper open shelves. The craftsman shift on the shelves is gorgeous. Every detail is perfect. They fit into a tight corner with no seam lines and flush to our frig. Along the way of building the shelves he constantly kept me up to date and valued my opinion on depth and thickness.
6) He installed 34 brass brackets to hold the floating shelves (I wanted to see some of the brass but not all of it).
7) removed a small bit of existing black tile and replaced with 3 walls of (100square feet) of new detailed tile. It was delicate work. And before he began he let me test 2 grout colors before making a final decision!
8) Removed existing light fixtures. Helped me select under cabinet trim lights and helped choose hanging ceiling lights. When an electrician came to install the lights Collin made sure to be there to help with placement and style ideas. Collin made a game changing suggestion of linking the ceiling lights together with chains and it’s a detail I hadn’t considered but I love it.
9) he suggested painting the window trim black to off set all the new white countertops and I love how his idea turned out.
10) replaced/repaired the toe kick with new wood, stained to match, and changed out the air vents to brass.
11). Installed a pull out trash can, a pull out pot rack, lift-up mixer stand, bottom shelf microwave station etc. (basically hid all the appliances we could - and some of these were not easy bc he had to come up with creative solutions given the existing footprint).
11). Lastly hung and installed all the details, repaired ceiling trim, door trim, and everything else that needed hanging. (dog collar station, coffee bar station, new sink and faucet).
I would 100% recommend this business.
We made the house tour deadline with a week to spare!

Fantastic work! Our downstairs (especially the kitchen) looks and feels great. Collin had great style tips and material suggestions that helped bring our ideas to life.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
