I had a furnace and AC unit installed almost 2 years ago - all went well during installation- the "goodman" furnace continued to randomly shut off - came home from skiing and it was 48* - they have been out to service many times - now the AC just randomly shuts off -i have tried and cannot get a hold of anyone

Without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had with a company / never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect by professionals I've paid for a service.

From the jump there were red flags; in retrospect I should have realized and not chosen them, but alas. Hopefully this review can save others the money and headache!

Our HVAC system was antiquated and needed replacing, so I reached out to Quality Home. I was given a quote $3,000 over my budget. When I said as much they immediately said they could meet me at my price point which makes me wonder... Why the high quote to begin with? Where would that extra $3k have gone?

The day of the install went okay. They took a few hours longer than they said they would which disrupted my workday, but fine - I can understand that. I was never sent photos of the condenser on the roof which I was promised - I had to ask a few times to get those.

Our new HVAC worked well for a few weeks, then started randomly shutting off. During peak heat times. I'd come home from work to a boiling house. Our thermostat kept saying it was running too long with no change in temperature. I brought this up to my contact at the company - a director level guy - and he told me my thermostat was "trash" and it needed to be replaced. Me, knowing nothing about this stuff, went along and agreed to pay the $400+ for a new thermostat. It turns out that the actual issue was that the folx doing the installation wired the entire thing incorrectly. I was still charged full price for the thermostat/install and offered no apology. My old thermostat was better and easier to use.

Fast forward a few months and I noticed our HVAC was leaking water. I called them in a panic as we were going out of town, it was the heat of summer, and I didn't want our cat to overheat. They were able to come out quickly (for a high fee) and told me the leaking was due to us not changing our filter frequently enough. I was again charged $400+ for this. It seemed weird to me that a dirty filter would cause leaking, but again... not my area of expertise.

I took their advice and started changing our filter at the cadence recommended. Guess what? Still leaking. A LOT. This is definitely an HVAC issue, not a filter issue as our filters are pretty pristine. I've been trying to get in touch with my same contact (and others) for literal weeks and am being met with total silence. I want to talk to someone about this but it appears that professionalism isn't a value of Quality Home HVAC.

Moral of the story? Absolutely go with a different company - I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

Aaron came out and quickly got our heater aswell as our cooler to start working after it’s been not working because the last guy that came out from a different company left us without heating or cooling for about two weeks! He was respectful, professional, and got what We needed done quickly and efficiently. Thank you guys.

Avoid this company. They installed a hot water heater in our home. We discovered a few months later the installation was not up to code. When I requested that they fix it, they ignored my repeated requests. It will cost me a lot of money to bring it to code. Then the company had the audacity to charge my credit card for a new service plan for the coming year. Run - don't walk - away from this company. I wish I had.

What I don’t accept, is a company making the enrollment process easy and then when you need to cancel you need to call and call and call and almost to the point of having to cancel my credit card to get a new plastic because that is quite IMPOSSIBLE. If you are reading this review RAN AWAY. Mediocre service always looking for something extra to charge and making it difficult.

TLDR: RUN as fast and as far from this bait and switch practicing company as possible. I would have put zero stars if google allowed.

Bait & Switch warning story: I put in a yelp inquiry for a water heater conversion from gas tank, to electric tankless. Quality Home HVAC responded saying they’d be happy to help. They did an initial inspection and accepted the gig and offered what seemed to be a great deal with an up-sell for an AC unit install. I accepted the upsell. They came and started with the AC which wasn’t what I NEEDED at the moment as my water heater is 12 years old and on its last leg. Installing my AC their tech left my furnace unassembled until 9pm during a blizzard because “he had to run home for an hour” at 2 pm. MY TENANTS (and myself) WERE RIGHTFULLY UPSET. And I had to compensate my tenants because of it. After days of non responsiveness they decided to tell me they were backing out of the water heater job because it was “impossible” AFTER THEY DID AN INSPECTION AND TOOK THE JOB!!! They were constantly giving me other people to try and talk to, none of which were actually helpful.

The owner Curtis is just a slimy salesman, the other owner Candice is just a mismanaged Damage Mitigator, and Chris whatever his role is called me screaming at me because I told him my next step was litigation after they failed to get the permits and inspection for the gig prior to me leaving town on a month long business trip. I wanted them to inspect the work that they had finished and were so shady to deal with after they had my money. They failed the electrical portion of the inspection.

I have receipts and photos of everything including conversations, the mess that was left after they “finished”, and of everything else of this god awful interaction. Once again, RUN don’t walk away to find a better service provider.

Our A/C broke during the heat wave this summer, and while the part that broke was under warranty, the labor was not, this would have led to a costly repair. Thankfully Quality Home HVAC offered to replace the entire unit at no cost to us! This was very generous and saved us a very large amount of money. We will continue to work with them in the future.

We were very pleased with the work we had done using Quality Home HVAC. We had AC installed and a new electric panel installed. Curtis worked very hard up front to communicate the whole process and ensure to maximize rebates and get us the best deal possible. The work was done on time and the final price was as agreed upon (no surprises). Being an engineer, I had many questions before the work began and the team was great at answering everything. The AC unit that was installed is super quiet when running which is amazing as we spend tons of time outside in our back yard. Thanks!

Didn't actually use the service, so giving a middle of the road rating based on the only interaction so far. Happened to notice a van with your name on it using the public roads but not bothering to license your vehicle to help pay for those roads. You should fix this, as it's not that hard to do. 9 months expired on a business vehicle? Come on. Also, please tell the kid driving to get off his cell phone and pay attention to the road.

I had a great experience with them with the install and was told we could get the a/c put in before the electrical panel was updated. Well, when we got the electrical panel updated a few minths after the a/c was put in, they charged us for a $200 10 minute visit to tell us we had to take the breaker off the panel so it would not trip the a/c but the electrical was up to code. Then, we scheduled our (what we thiught was our service call about 6 months after starting to use our a/c) and they charged us for that visit!!!! After their tech came to the house to do their routine once a year visit that is part of their service warranty, our unit started leaking and flooded our basement. It flooded our basement… 11 times. They started blocking my number, my husbands and my dad had to call them in order for them to come out and fix it. To this day it is still not fixed. I was spoken to rudely by the owner, Curtis and had to request to not be contacted by him again. I will never recommend this company. I have lots of screenshots, photos and evidence of their own employees saying that Curtis was fielding our calls. We never wanted compensation for the flooding damage, we just wanted it to be fixed, to get a proper apology and to know what our one year service warranty covered. To this day, no one has answered my questions about what the service warranty entails. Very disappointed in their company and customer service.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had working with a company…
They schedule the appointment without telling the customer that there is an hourly fee for the technician for $190 per hour and a minimum of two hours that you have to pay for. ON TOP of a separate service fee. Completely misleading the customer. So you’re down $479 off the bat.

I was informed that they would send a technician to come and do a diagnostic FIRST for a fee of $99 to see what’s going on and then from there I can choose from the options of work to fix the issue. The technician was not under the same understanding and ending up doing the work without my permission, without presenting me with my options, and not providing me a physical quote of the work that needed to be done. Then when he was “finished” he threw a huge quote at me full on expecting me to pay it without me consenting to doing the work.

Huge disparity between the technicians and the “office team”. And when trying to call the company back for help and to talk things through, it’s impossible to actually speak with someone from the actual office of the company. Their number only routes you to the scheduling team for scheduling appointments who can’t help you with anything.

Oh and also, the work that they did didn’t even help. My ac unit is still not getting down to temperature and now they are telling me that I need more work done to improve it as well as paying those fees aforementioned all over again.

Extremely unprofessional company and I HIGHLY suggest working with another HVAC company.

UPDATE (in response to the owners comment):
First off, The office team did not reach out to me. They had the technician call me multiple times back even after we already spoke with one another and he couldn’t do anything other than “I’ll bring it up on our next team meeting”.

Secondly, they did not receive any sign off from me. As stated above, I did not even see a quote for the job until he was already done. I only signed off when I paid since he already did the work.
The technician did not communicate with me when the diagnostic concluded and the work began as stated in my screenshot attached. Again, I was the under the impression that he was still diagnosing. No one informed me that further diagnosis was needed since there was no communication.

These lies are great examples of the type of business you’ll deal with as a customer.
I highly suggest that Quality Home re-evaluates their business practices more in-depth.

I had a technician come to my home for an air conditioner repair. The technician arrived over 2 hours late and reported that the issue was with our thermostat. He quoted us over $900 to replace it. We decided to buy one from Home Depot and replace it ourselves. He then tried to charge me for an after-hours service call. When I disputed the amount, he instead charged me almost $200, when the service call was clearly listed as $99 when booked through Thumbtack, which was waived if we hired them to do the work, which we did not. I was, therefore, fully expecting to pay that.

After replacing the thermostat, the issue was not resolved. I tried to get them to come back and reassess the problem. I was scheduled for a service time of 1-3 pm. By 4 pm, they still had not arrived. I called to get an ETA and was told the call was canceled. The call center (could never reach the actual office of this business) could not give me a reason. They still have not returned my call.

Update 6/12/24
I'm somewhat reluctantly increasing my stars from 1 to 3. After the below review, I got a call back from Chris and he agreed to refund my startup service cost and some additional as well.

I hired this company to do a swamp cooler startup. The inexperienced tech (his first swamp cooler job) couldn't get it going and then spent a lot of time on the phone with Matt asking questions. In the end, he said I needed some hard‐to-get part. No one ever got back to me on details of this part or service, nor did they provide the requested estimate for an HVAC system. I still paid $199 for the incomplete work plus another few hundred just to run a new copper supply line on the side of the house.

I had a bad feeling, so I called another company the next day for a second opinion. They came out and for a $39 service fee, got it working without any problem. I saw pictures and video documenting everything and the cooler hadn't even been cleaned. It's been working great ever since.

I called Quality that day to discuss all of this a never got a call back. I called again a few days later, still no call back. I finally (over a week later) left a negative review on Thumbtack, to which someone miraculously replied - with lies about returning my call and lies about the work done. Remember, I have all of this documented, including call logs. That same day I called them again and no one knew where to direct me. Eventually I got the number for service manager, Chris. Chris said he'd research and get back to me. Guess what? Another week has gone by with still no call back or anywhere close to resolution. Now I have to go through the hassle of disputing the charge with my bank and filing a complaint with the state Attorney General. I would never recommend this company. They've had multiple chances to get things right and squandered every one.

We reached out to them on a Saturday night when our air conditioning broke down, and our house was 86° - with kids we were a bit panicked.

Curtis FaceTimed us immediately to help troubleshoot and we found a temporary solution until they could send someone out first thing Sunday morning! Curtis was incredibly kind and patient.

You just don’t find customer service and transparency like this in home repairs anymore.

I called 15 other HVAC places recommended by Google to fix 3 vents on top of the roof before having my roof replaced. All of them either didn't do it or said that they thought there was asbestos before looking. They were all asking for $7500 and above. Quality home gave me an amazing deal a fraction of that and had someone out the very next day! Will definitely be calling for future jobs and passing along information. Thanks again!

As these things happen, my 23-year old furnace bellied up and died on a cold Sunday morning. By Tuesday afternoon, I had a brand new furnace installed that was working wonderfully! Matt and Jonathan ensured I received a quality furnace at a reasonable cost. They were personable and efficient and most importantly, I am confident the install was safe and the new furnace will last for years to come. Curtis and team are amazing to work with!! While I am on the east coast and not on site, they have assured me that both of our companies' locations in Denver, Colorado are in good hands! They have assisted us with preventive maintenance packages as well as servicing our existing equipment. They show up when they say, they are on time, professional and bottom line they know the HVAC business and thoroughly explain what is going on and what options we have available, and they have our back in what's best for our company's needs. We all know that those qualities are a rarity these days in society!! Their rock star staff and their Construction Manager even help monitor our current GC on a site to make sure the GC kept on track and did what they were supposed to do within our best interests!! Hands down the best HVAC company I have had the pleasure of dealing with, my only problem is they don't service the southeast and we can't use their excellent services out here! Construction workers at our home damaged the natural gas line, resulting in a leak where a pipe connected to an elbow, which I found after the workers left for the day. I was able to make a temporary patch and called Quality Home HVAC. Jay and Alan came the next day, replaced the line and attached it more securely.

Add on: after this summer's great response I called them today when I woke to a 64 degree home! As usual, Curtis got some one out to me same day! The phone rep Angela was sweet. The tech Alan was great! Fixed it for a fantastic price! They have been more than fair, on time, responsive and professional. I couldn't recommend any one more! EXCELLENT!
My 35 year old rusted air conditioner stopped in July. I called them, based on seeing them in the neighborhood. I approached one guy when I saw him outside expecting him to say " call the office" but he waited for a break, and the came right up to give me an estimate. It was really reasonable.

So I phone shopped around but went with them for the best price. They came back in a few weeks, as it was top season for A/C calls, and did a great job. Very considerate of my flooring and property. Showed up exactly at the time they said they would! Every single person I have dealt with has been responsive and courteous. And I have had to call a few times about question concerning filters, or payment or rebate...every one from workers to owners.

I referred them to my next door neighbor and she is just as pleased! Highly recommend.

Chris came to repair my thermostat. It was a simple fix however nothing I could have been aware of myself. He also took the time to answer questions I had about maintenance on both the furnace and AC. He was very pleasant and helpful. The price was reasonable as well even though work was done on a weekend. I will now use this company as my "go to" when necessary.

We just had our swamp cooler serviced by Chris and it was an excellent experience!

He was on time, notified us he was on his way ahead of arriving, and then did an excellent job making sure we understood the process.

We really appreciated that he took pictures of everything, pointed out things he noticed while performing the service, and talked to us about best practices for maintenance. Payment was also a snap.

We Will certainly be using them for many services moving forward!

ZERO STARS!!!! I will not do business with this company again. Got charged $300 for the tech to come out and reset a thermostat?! Then the owner Curtis wanted to upcharge me $700 for a $250 thermostat. Wow... They try to prey on people and take them for all than can. I regret doing business with them. And if you give them a review like this Curtis will threaten you to change it. Put them on blast for taking advantage of hard working people. This company is bad. Go elsewhere.

Quality Home and HVAC is a great company, with good customer service.

They did a great job installing central AC in my home. James is very knowledgeable about installation, with his guidance we were able to install central ac in our 1940’s home that no other company would do. I will continue to use them for any additional work. I really can’t say enough about this company and I highly recommend checking them out for any HVAC needs!
