Prime Energy Solar

After reasearching the other solar systems and companies in Connecticut I decided not to use Prime because they are not a good value or reputable. They prefer to sell you "required" roofing (age and materials) for which they use use subcontractors for so when issues arise....you are on your own. They use commission only sales people which creates a rushed, grab the money and run attitude. That also creates lots of turnover so you might have to deal with replacement reps mid project. The owner is rude when addressing customers and employees. I know this first hand.

I had an outstanding experience with Prime Energy Solar when they installed the solar panels at my home. From start to finish, their team was incredibly professional and thorough. They took the time to explain the entire process, addressing all my questions and ensuring I fully understood each step.

The installation itself was seamless and completed on time, with careful attention to detail. The quality of their work and their commitment to customer satisfaction exceeded my expectations. I’m thrilled with the results and the energy savings I’m already seeing.

I installed solar on my home in 2022. The installation was smooth, efficient, and very well done. HOWEVER, what I am really impressed by is the customer service. I had and issue with my solar panels in June of 2024 and half of my units were not working. I called prime and within a few days they had a tech out to look at my panels and had them fixed and back up running at full efficency. In an age where a lot of companies will try to wiggle out of a warranty or try to find an excuse to sell you more products, it is nice to know at least one company sticks by their word and fixes your issues with no additional hassle. Thank you to all who assisted me.

I needed a roof replacement due to leaks, but I also had existing solar panels from another company that is no longer in business. I contacted Prime Solar, and from the beginning, Shawn was on top of it. The team was on time and extremely professional. I had a beautiful new roof in two days, and the solar reinstallation was done shortly after. Finding a company that handles everything with such a high level of craftsmanship is a blessing. Thanks to the team at Prime Solar for all your help.

Although I was very skeptical to install solar, I'm so glad I did. My electric bill has been zero dollars. Prime solar is timely and efficient. Everything that was promised was delivered. I especially am in love with the heat pump. The installation went smoothly, the team was great. Everything that was presented in the deal was delivered and installed with top tier professionalism. End product looks great and the app that came with it shows daily solar harvesting. From the first meeting at my house until the completion of my solar project Mr Michael Wiltshire provided nothing but legendary customer service. Mike left no stone unturned, he is very kind and honest and will ensure that your solar project goes smoothly. Because I loved the design and price that Mike presented me on our second meeting I ended up redoing the roof on my house before solar panels were installed. Now I pretty much have a brand new house and one less bill to worry about. My system produces more than enough power and gives me the ability to get credits from Eversource. Three weeks ago we chose Sunlight Solar to install a system on our new home after interviewing 2 other companies. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made! Their office staff and installers are so friendly and knowledgeable. They really do quality work! Kristine was beyond helpful and patient. We had our solar panels installed a few months ago. Everything went well and it’s working accordingly. The company was excellent and David Ybarra was very professional, super nice and very informative.

When building my system he even took into account the unfinished basement area that we will be completing work on soon. Friends that are always there for you are invaluable. They were easy to reach, and their assistance was invaluable as we coordinated the transfer of our utilities and more. This company provides a poor service, upon review of my family house they used a Google maps image that is probably 10 or more years old and the trees in the yard are no longer there and they decided to argue with my family about it and did not provide an in person evaluation on my yard and house. Then they plan to make a home visit several times and give me a date but they never show up or call at all until we have to call them complaining that they never showed up. Well needless to say we ended up going with a different company after this company waisted mine and my families time.

Edit: the reply is so automatic and the response is so inaccurate as it does not reflect anything that was discussed on the phone. The company makes no sense and makes up lies to protect their self image.

I put in a request to be contacted regarding solar energy. I've received 11 calls from an Al in 24 hours. 5 of which came within an hour span while I was at a funeral. 1 call was at 9pm. The last call I answered, and was hung up on. Now, I appreciate initiative but this is extremely overboard. Needless to say, I'm no longer interested in this company and that number has since been blocked.

The conversion to solar was one of the best purchases we could have made as homeowners! The Prime Energy Solar team walked us through the process, answered questions, and explained what to expect as the system went live and we began to produce & store the energy needed to eliminate the UI bill. Prime was responsive and patient as we awaited collaboration with the Town and UI. Having a $12 electric bill is absolutely worth the cost of converting to solar. I converted to solar power with Prime Energy, and I couldn't be more happy! I sat with several companies and none of them could offer a better deal. The system is beautiful, the install process was smooth and took less than a full day. The CEO, Shawn Roby, even showed up in person. Shawn is very knowledgeable and truly cares about everything being perfect. He is meticulous. He even got up on my roof to inspect the job himself! I'm so tired of paying the utility company more and more money every year for something I'll never own. But now with the help of Prime Energy I have a $0 electric bill.

I took my time to do a lot of research on Solar. I spent about 3 years researching it, different companies, different offers, different panels. After all my research I decided to go with Prime Energy. The sales person was very nice. Of course all solar companies have their pitch but I had my list of 20 important questions which differentiate the companies and the panels.

Yes you can look at the other reviews on here and yes I am sure you can find cheaper panels but you wont find them with the same quality. You wont find the same Longevity, you won't find the same panels with the same efficiency after 15 years or 30 years and you wont find a company that sells, services and knows their panels. This is huge.

After the install was done and I got a chance to look at the panels they put up. The design was amazing. I had them all put on the backside of my house so you can't see it from the road, really doesn't take away from the look of the house. The are all even and laid out nicely.

I got a system that allows me to produce energy for my house that is what I need. It allows me the room for running everything in my house as needed. The cost of the system to me is going to be less than my current energy bill as well as it currently is. With the rising energy costs its only going to continue to benefit me as well as the extra I will be producing and selling back.

Anytime I had a question during install and setup I was able to text or call the owner who was very prompt in getting back to me.

With this long review all said and done, go ahead, shop around, don't be fooled by the fancy ads and video adds on all the social media platforms. Do your research as the important questions and you will find that Prime Solar does do it right.

At first it was all great they sold us with a speech and would offer us a lot of benefits and guaranteed us to get reimbursed for our light bill if we would sign up that afternoon. Which that never happen till this date (Omar) the manager of prime energy solar had gave his word with Ralph and even promised referral credits too! They had a great selling pitch and said they’re were different from other co and they would keep their word and walk us thru each step of getting our panels installed. No!! They didn’t I had to continually follow up with them and asking when things were going to start when inspection would take place after 2 failed inspections and numerous of follow ups with Omar about status and reimbursement on light bill which never happen. As a customer i was disappointed with the process and the lies they did to get us to sign up with them, I wouldn’t recommend this company. Omar never kept his word and he said our failed inspection were because his workers did not update or light panel and had to add more money that we were even for our light bill the company had spent to much money already, when it was not our problem since they had inspected our home and saw what they needed. Please be careful with the lies (Omar) really sold the whole deal of solar panels and why we should go with this company at the end of the day I can’t write a good review my experience was negative.

Great company, great team, seamless process. All things went exactly as expected. The utility took forever to approve our installation knowing they were losing us as a customer forever. Prime got it done!

Currently our electric bill is negative, and the utilities now owe me money for excess generation. I highly recommend this company.

I’ve been looking into solar for my home for years. I’ve sat down with nearly every company out there. All of the big names, and even some local companies. Prime Energy was really the only company that helped find and address what I was really looking for, and then offered it to me. They were able to provide and excellent product, with excellent value for my home. They were very flexible in the different options they had available. Unlike most companies, who are a “one size fits all.” The process takes about 90 days from
Signing up, to the big day! It was very clear 90% of this time is because of the Utility Companies process. However, my Rep, and the company were there for me every step of the way! I now no longer pay the power company, and I’m saving a healthy percentage, prior to inflation. I would recommend them to everyone! Also keep in mind, they are a LOCAL company. They’re here in state for their customers. When you need to speak with someone, that person at the company will answer the phone every time. I had some last minute questions, and there was always someone available. If the utility company would get their act together, I would have been installed even quicker!

They gave us an estimate of 90k when other companies are giving us estimates of 30k. Very unreliable. If you dont do your research, they will take advantage of you. Good communication skills of agents but poor market value. Dont care if panels are Sunpower or whatever. If another company guarantees the khw production per year for 25 yrs and doing maintenance. Why would i care what kind of panels i get.

I absolutely recommend this company. Rodrigo came in was very knowledgeable, respectful and friendly and was available at all times for any questions I had. After installing I had some electrical issues that I thought were connected to the solar panels but they were not and still Rodrigo directed me to his supervisor Sean who walked me through (on his own time during Thanksgiving holiday ) what he thought might be the problem and then connected me with their electrician so he can come and help me. Sean made me feel at ease and reassured me that they will always be available to help me with any electrical or solar panels issues as a lifetime guarantee. As a widow who is struggling they are a godsend! They have gone above and beyond! Thank you

Had first consultation with prime energy and was very pleased with how it went my consultant Rodrigo was awesome answering my questions and finding my answers on the spot first appointment went very well, was eger to set up 2nd appointment and learn more about the numbers involved with having solar the monthly cost and so forth but over all so far very pleased.

I rate this company 5 stars! Quick and efficient work. I highly recommend this company to anyone who’s looking for solar! The salesman, omar, that I worked with was so accommodating and really listened to my concerns. If you’re looking to do the switch go see Omar!

It took a bit too long to get the system fully running. Covid-19 shut down didn't help but I am satisfied with my panels.

Shawn Roby came to our home and explained everything there is to know about going solar. It made sense and my wife and I signed up. They have been on the roof for about a year and have saved us a great deal of money already. Once they are paid off entirely, the benefits with only increase more. I couldn't even imagine having a $12 Eversource bill in mid-summer when the central A/C is working overtime. Since the install I continue to look for more energy efficient products to add to the house. Last upgrade was to an electric hybrid water heater, so the saving will continue.

The salesman Shawn Roby was incredibly knowledgeable and had me sold on the product in minutes. The end product was everything that was in the agreement. Fast, clean, professional work done by the installers and site survey done with cutting edge technology. I would recommend this to every home owner. I believe ownership of these units are key and this is one of the best investments I have ever made.

So recently I had a solar system installed and so far I couldn't be happier but it's only been 3 weeks. I have to be honest, if it wasn't a good friend of mine who pitched it to me I would have never got it. I would have never believed a sales person, I would have thought there was a catch or some type of scheme but because it was someone I trusted (I was a little skeptical) I gave it a shot. And the fact that I have some close friends that have solar and like it made the decision easier but on the flip side I know people that have horror stories about solar. In the end I guess it's all about the company you use and the program and the quality of the product. With that being said I received my first UI bill since my solar was turned on, it was turned on March 18th and my billing cycle ended April 2nd I believe, so for 15 days I had it on for the month of March and when I received my bill it was only $99, which my bill should have been around $240. Solar is definitely something people who are looking to save money should look into and I would highly recommend Shawn Robby and prime energy solar.

I can't say how satisfied I am with this company especially with shawn rowbes attention to detail and patience in making sure I understood every step of the way the installation was quickly done and without any inconvenience shawn repeatedly stopped by to be sure everything was going as planned just as important a recently received a hefty tax return thanks shawn

He supplied a great service that educated me on absolutely everything that was needed to be known about solar power and how the installation process would work, he did everything in a very efficient manner and was extremely respectful.

Prior to going solar my electric bill was about $350-$400 a month. That was in the middle of summer June, July and August for my Pecks months with my central air running. My low usage months my bill averaged about $250 a month. Ever since I got the panels installed that Bill dropped to $0 a month from the UI company. The best part is the sun overproduces so much energy for my system, UI keeps paying me in credits for my overproduction so during the winter months when it's not as sunny I still have more than enough Energy built up from during the Sunny days to run the house on the Cloudy months. Going solar has opened up a new world to me which now I'm contemplating getting an electric vehicle so I could use the extra energy from the sun to drive around for free.

Sounds like a really great idea. However the process was long and Shawn Roby does not return phone calls or texts making it almost impossible to get anything done or get any information. Had to go to lengths to get other points of contact. 6 months later still do not have everything Prime promised and cannot get in contact with anyone from the company.
