I called and spoke with the director of operations Timere today regarding concerns that a maintenance worker had entered my home without prior permission. I explained that he attempted to enter my unit and argued with me when I told him he didnt have prior permission. He tried to convince me to let him come in to "check things out" even as I was telling him to leave. After he left, another worker who had not been given prior permission to enter showed up and I tuned him away without argument. After I explained this to Timere she told me that she couldn't address it because she wasnt at her desk, said she wasnt able to give me the names of the men who'd attempted to enter my home, laughed at me and hung up. Very unprofessional and this has terrifying implications for how accessible my home is and how little Timere or this company take their responsibility to safety seriously.

The building I live in is contracted with them for maintenance. When I first moved in, the electricity in my apartment blew. It took over ten days for them to come fix it. The work is inconsistent as well- for example, the tub in the bathroom needed recaulked and instead of removing the old caulk first, they caulked over it (sealing mold) and they painted over my internet jack.

I wish the property management company I rent through would contract someone else. PacWest is a joke. Some of the technicians are nice- but that doesn’t fix my electricity within a reasonable amount of time or change the fact that the work is shoddy.

I loved the work Pacific West did on my home. I desperately needed a painter, and was scarred from the last company I worked with. Pacific West was less expensive than the previous company, and I was able to schedule something quickly! The whole team was a joy to work with, and was a painless process. I will definitely be hiring them for all future construction projects!

About three years ago I decided to update my kitchen and bathroom on my place I didn't have the time to do it myself so I looked up this company pacific west construction and maintenance I called and asked for a bid a gentleman by the name of Darwin Taylor came out he was very professional and Was knowledgeable in the scope of work that I wanted done,I had two other bids pacific West Came in at the lowest saving me about $2300 bucks in total the one thing that I liked was that they were able to come out right away where is everybody else was no less than three days to a week out some even longer for bids throughout the entire process I was very confident in the knowledge and ability of the team that came out to do the job all the workers were very respectful, professional and had positive can do attitudes, I was pleasantly surprised that they finished a Day earlier than I had expected I would definitely hire them again in the future they are a trustworthy company and they did quality workBecause of that I give them five stars great job guys!thank you so much!

Updated review to owner's reply:
Almost half the so-called "Full-Time" employees listed on the site are not even with the company anymore. The rest doesn't even work on site day to day. Just a bunch of admins, PMs, sales running around to get more jobs and postpone existing ones. At the end of the day, it's just the temps and subs working on all the projects. Miserable.

Steer clear away from these guys. The entire crew is made up of temp workers. There is ZERO quality control and they care very little about keeping customers satisfied. Everything is wrong with this company. They are disorganized, unprofessional, messy and cut corners where customers don't see. Just an absolute nightmare!

I had a long list of remodel jobs to be done on the house I inherited from my father. I had really no clue where to start... A few contractors that did come out for a walk through never submitted a quote, others were ridiculously high or so low that you knew they would be back with additional work orders. I was extremely lucky to find Pacific West on the contractor list and we started with the leaking hot water heater and the laundry room with a soft floor. Jeff and the crew were awesome!! They were very respectful of my home. Unfortunately the job didn't go smoothly...old house...but there were on top of everything and immediately set things to right. That job went so well we started down the list. Jeff and Brian understood that I am very conservative and thrifty, Jeff helped guide some of the decisions to a better quality, a different idea but never pushed to drive up the cost. They tried to ensure that the estimate was as inclusive as possible and there were very few changes. A couple times the job actually came in a bit less! The bathrooms turned out so fantastic! I had another paint company do the interior...after coming home to screws in the rug, paint spots, areas not done I had to remind them of etc. needless to say I did not go with them on the exterior! I asked Jeff for an estimate and they did that job too. I have a new GAF roof, remodeled bathrooms, new lighting throughout, refinished wood floors, and my kitchen is as fantastic as my bathrooms!! They moved my built in stove and created a cupboard where it used to be using the cabinet doors and matching the decor. They didn't insist I remove all the old cabinets, instead working with my vision and as always Jeff had excellent ideas that made it all come together.

We are actually currently working on getting another small project going. I get so many compliments and have referred everyone I know to Pacific West Construction and Jeff. You just cannot go wrong.

This place is a complete joke. I was referred to them by my real estate agent when I bought my first house in 2011. They put in a fence and their work was mediocre at best. I had to have it repaired numerous times over the following 5 years. I reached out to them in that 5 year period to do a handful of smaller jobs around my house/property and they came out 2 or 3 times to give me a quote (for the exact same work) but then flaked each time I tried to schedule the work to actually get done. Being a new home owner and not knowing who else to call I tried to continue using them to no avail. I just reached out to them again for another job and was told that they only work with repeat clients. Brian told me to email him explaining what we needed done only to receive his response saying that they are not taking on any new jobs at this time. They also had a couple of guys, Darwin and Tom, who offered to do side jobs for me back when I first started working with the company. They did one $5K job (putting in a drainage ditch). They then quoted me $5K to put a driveway. When I asked them if they could do it for any less, they increased the quote to $5,300. When I questioned the increase they told me they didn’t want to work for me anymore. I later had the driveway done for $4,200. I am far too busy to deal with this kind of customer service and will spend my time finding a more reputable group of people to pay for their services. Beware.

I recently hired Pacific West Construction and Maintenance to renovate my old master bathroom. We have had 2 main issues with our bath: we needed additional storage space and we almost never used the corner tub. Their crew was professional and responsive to our needs from beginning to end.

They removed the corner tub and some of the plumbing, so we got plenty of space that we were able to build a new floor in the attic for an additional walk-in closet and extra storage, along with a spacious shower. The shower is stone type tile with several recessed niches, highlighted with glass insets and a rock flooring, and the floor in the bathroom is the same stone tile as in the shower. They also added an entire wall of cabinets with a functional and beautiful make-up desk. Toekick lighting was also installed in the cabinets, and is operated by a motion sensor timer, so we don't have to search for a light switch at night time.

The project was completed on time and within our budget and our new bathroom is now very elegant and comfortable! I highly recommend this company.

Service questions

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
