Customer feedback is mixed regarding the services provided by Outdoor Building Concepts. While many clients praised the company's craftsmanship, attention to detail, and effective communication, there are significant concerns about the quality of work on some projects. Issues such as poor finishes and lack of proper restoration after renovations have been reported. Overall, customer service and responsiveness received high marks, but the inconsistency in quality suggests a need for improvement in certain areas.
- The project is beautiful! WOW! I know we are going to enjoy our 'Front porch sitting' for years to come.
- Doug and Sharon are very easy to work with and their work is outstanding.
- OBC gives you the best bang for your buck on your building project, providing experience, insight, and scope for outstanding results.
- The workmanship was excellent, cleanliness exceptional, and disruption minimal.
- Your proactive progress checks were helpful, you were readily accessible by email and by phone, and were responsive.
- Quality of the craftsmanship was poor.
- Instead of recutting the piece a sliver of wood was stuck in the gap and it was filled with caulk.
- There is white paint 4” up my wall which he never returned to actually paint.
- Assumptions were made on how to put the kitchen back together instead of asking or measuring.

Had a kitchen and half bath flood that required a gut of both rooms. Quality of the craftsmanship was poor. When corners didn’t line up on the baseboard instead of recutting the piece a sliver of wood was stuck in the gap and it was filled with caulk. Baseboard in my hall to the bathroom was painted but instead of cutting in there is white paint 4” up my wall which he never returned to actually paint. If painting the wall was never part of the plan then don’t destroy the wall in the process. The kitchen just needed to be put back together and rather than asking or measuring it was assumed how the floor had been laid and new floor was placed then the cabinets installed on top which was not how it was originally. This caused the bottom row of my backsplash to have to be cut off to allow for the difference in cabinet height and then my new cabinets to have to be shaved and crown adjusted to allow for the cabinet doors to close. One still doesn’t close correctly. Very disappointing experience and it took a really long time. We keep being told “there were other contracts” but we had also had a contract so should, at some point during the year, have had priority as well. We did not reach out for them to fix the wall because honestly we wanted the work done right and done quickly so we could end contact. Have pics that can be sent on request.
Outdoor Building Concepts exceeded our expectations on a front porch addition.

We have done 3 projects with OBC. Our first was a waterproofing a basement wall, second was a large new deck, and the most recent was finishing our full basement. Doug and Sharon are very easy to work with and theIr work is outstanding, We are very comfortable with Doug being on the project in our home and he is an expert craftsman. We are currently planning our next project with OBC and recommend them highly.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
