Matt at Octagon was a lifesaver. I cannot express how great he was while dealing with my claim. He made my family’s safety a priority, to the point of coming to my house on a Saturday for inspection and a Friday night to put in plastic sheeting to protect my son from any possible mold. I cannot recommend their services strongly enough.

Called Octagon out to look at water damage & mold concerns after demolition and cleaning . Matt was very honest and thorough with his inspection and was able to verify the absence of mold after a self cleanup. Don’t second guess your family’s health and safety after a water damage incident, trust the professionals word! Called them to come look at our home after having some concern about discoloration in our attic sheathing. They were prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Explained to us that what we were seeing was the roofing nails, leaching iron into the wood, and that we did not have mold.

Octagon was there right when I needed them - the same night I came home to find puddles all over my house from a burst pipe that ran all day while I was at work. A crew arrived with wet vacs, industrial driers and dehumidifiers and ripped out the soaked carpet that first night. They came back in the following days to remove the wet sheetrock and flooring, and worked with my insurance adjuster directly for payment. I can't say enough about what a great job they did, and what a relief it was to have them come in and do exactly what was needed right away. I've never dealt with anything like this before, and hope I never do again. But if I do, they'll be the folks I call. Robin, Matt and crew were amazing. We found mold in our basement and the came right out and inspected it. They came up with a plan to take care of the issue. Octagon remediated a mold issue in our attic. The attic rafters look like new and very clean. Their service was top notch. The access to our attic was through my daughter's room closet and they separated their access with floor-to-ceiling plastic with zipper doors which prevented dust and insulation from dirtying my daughters room and rest of house. I recommend Octagon for mold remediation.

Octagon is a top notch company from start to finish. The care they took in our house with mold remediation, insulation removal, blown in new insulation and cleanup couldn’t have been better. The people that work for Octagon are also the best. Stoy was the point person for our project and was outstanding with his communication to us and his work ethic. Over charged us $750 for them to come set up 2 fans a dehumidifier we had already pulled up the carpet and the walls, then Matt comes over to take the tape and plastic down and it takes all the paper off our door way that's property damage I believe all he said was oops so not a fuzzy warm feeling. Called and the manger was suppose to call back and no call back!!!!!!!!! Well thanks for the call back you are a joke rip off word gets around in a small town never again. Thanks for nothing!!!!!!!

Bruce came to our house today to do asbestos abatement in southern Maine. He was friendly, professional, and excellent at his craft. He completed the abatement quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly. He did a lot of cleaning in our basement that he didn't need to do, including moping the entire floor and vacuuming the tops of ducts. Needless to say - we really appreciate all his efforts! We would definitely recommend Bruce and his team for asbestos abatement. Thank you Octagon!

We experienced some serious flooding in our basement this past Spring at our lake house. It was an extraordinary water table rising event. In 48 years of living in this home we never had such an experience. We didn't realize the extent of the damage until our early in June 2024 visit. The mold already was overtaking our basement. That was our greatest concern for health issues and needing assurance that our home would still be in live-able condition.

From the moment I researched potential services that could help us with this distressing situation we found in Octagon a very professional, knowledgeable and technically able organization.

Matt from Octagon, who helped us understand Octagon's full range of services, was attentive and efficient. We knew we were in good hands from the start. They formulated their proposal, priced their services efficiently, answered all questions and concerns. When we retained Octagon's services, they pulled together a team of experts to first close off our living spaces and ensure that we could be in our house while they began the clearing of all the destroyed and moldy furnishings etc. They de-constructed the basement in its entirety to prevent mold from remaining in the basement. They hauled away all debris and trash before setting up drying systems to dry out the basement. The team kept checking progress regularly.

The process took longer than Octagon had originally estimated for the entirety of the process, however, their team did not consider their work completed until our basement was back to a dry, clean and live-able condition. We are very impressed by their professionalism and the positive results.

The mold has been remediated. We can begin to think about re-finishing our basement sometime in the near future with certainty that we will not be hiding any invasive and unhealthy conditions that typically occur after water damage.

Recently had Octagon out for some attic mold remediation and re-insulation. The work seems to have been done well but overall the service provided was relatively weak. Octagon offers a 5 year warranty on their work if you offer get post remediation testing done which they offered to set up and I told them I would take advantage of. However right before my project started they told me it was my responsibility to schedule this and gave me two recommended companies. One of the recommended companies would not do the work because of common ownership, so not sure why they recommended it, but luckily I was able to schedule the other. I confirmed my test date as the Monday after the Thursday/Friday wrap up of my remediation and my insulation was supposed to start the following Monday, same day as the test, and I was told this would not be an issue the testing could be done before or after the re-insulation. I also had several bags of old insulation that were scheduled to be picked up Friday or Saturday, Monday at the latest. My testing was done on Monday, but the insulation crew never showed up. I eventually called and inquired mid-afternoon and was told it couldn’t be done until after the testing which was not what I was originally told. The old insulation also was not picked up. Finally, after a few emails and a call it seems more like my job was simply missed and they offered to come out end of the week, Friday, which while the best they offered, didn’t seem like they were making wrapping up my job as scheduled much of a priority or attempting to keep to the agreed upon schedule. They also never sent anyone to pick up the old insulation and finally it was removed by the insulation crew on Friday.

The more frustrating piece was while the contract does state they are not responsible containment barrier damage, and along with this type of damage there was additional damage in the work area extended beyond that but I’m understandable it may have happened in the course of performing the necessary work, they proceeded to ding, dent, scuff and dirty non-work areas in my house as well that they needed to pass through to get to the attic. They also did not put down protective floor cover requested and agreed to until after being reminded and after dirt had been spread throughout the hallway to the work area. Outside of the work area I have walls/molding with dings and scuffs, some that cleaned off and some that didn’t and dirty hand prints everywhere that needed to be cleaned off. Most of this was done simply due to dragging cords and hoses on vacuums through the house instead of properly rolling them up and carrying too much up and down the starts each trip. While much was cleanable some can only be fixed with repainting. The majority of this likely could have been avoided simply with a little more care and attention to detail on their part and likely all was certainly avoidable.

I did follow up with them about the above issues and was told my email was being forwarded to simply be ghosted after the fact.

While the work appears to have been done well, hard to recommend a company when the overall service was so poor.

Octagon told me what they were going to do and when. They did what they said on time and within the estimated cost. The people were friendly and helpful. I would use Octagon again and have recommended them to my neighbors.

Octagon showed up quickly and took care of the “lake” in my basement efficiently. Would definitely do business with them again.

I haven’t even hired the team yet but feel compelled to write a review to say how incredibly helpful and caring Matt has been with our situation. He’s gone above and beyond to help advise, and he’s been extremely patient as well. Also, the incredible ladies who scheduled (and then saved the day by rescheduling me at the last minute when I couldn’t make the time) are the absolute best. I had a great experience working with Octagon for mold remediation in an older island house and would highly recommend them. Their office was professional and easy to communicate with. They came out and did a thorough assessment, explained everything in detail, and gave me a fair quote. Octagon goes beyond just removing mold; they will actually make corrections to basic infrastructure (where possible or they'll recommend corrections if they can't do them) to actually prevent mold buildup. The guys who did the work were extremely professional, communicative, and efficient. Matt was always available along the way, including after the work was completed to talk through next steps and provide recommendations for keeping my house mold free moving forward.

Coping with the stress and devastation that comes along with discovering mold is not something anyone expects or wishes to do but, if the time does come, then it is extremely helpful to have professionals in your corner to tackle the cleanup task.

Octagon Cleaning and Restoration helped me out immensely when my home in Greenwood, ME was impacted by basement flooding in mid December. They helped pump out the water, disposed of damaged items and handled the demo of a bedroom that was impacted by water damage. They were great to work with, sent staff promptly to address the issue and followed up afterwards to ensure I was completely comfortable with the resolution. Very pleased with my experience and they made dealing with a difficult situation, a little easier.

Working with Octagon was a pleasure and they did a great job stripping and cleaning the interior of my garage. For various reasons, I had to change the scheduling of the project numerous times but Octagon was always understanding and worked with me to find the right time for the cleaning. They did a thorough and meticulous job and I'm very pleased with result.

I called Octagon for remediation of mold, the house we bought had been vacant because the mold after a busted water pipe and consequent flooding [twice] was uninhabitable. Whether we renovated or tore down the house depended on Octagons expertise. Octagon gave me a written estimate with the assurance it be very close or spot on. They completely demolished the interior and treated the leftover mold by blasting. They then had an independent inspection and the house was certified mold free. They held to their estimate, cleaned up on a regular basis, was there when they say they were going to be and was done when they said they were going to be. After 30 years in construction I hold these very admirable traits. 5 out of 5 stars.

Five stars! Recently went to sell a home and found mold in the attic, (due to going under contract we were in a time crunch) The owner personally came out the next day and got a quote within 24hours, no later than 24hrs later they were there and within 3 days mold was gone, a week later the entire attic was brand new, insulation, proper vents, soffit vents, and they sealed the roof. I could not have imagined that this would be done so quickly, professionally and cost efficient. Thank you everyone at Octagon. A+++

We used octagon a few years back for an asbestos job that we had at our home. They were absolutely wonderful and easy to work with. The quote they gave us was reasonable and they even dealt with a few other areas that were found at no extra cost. We would recommend them to everyone!

Octagon helped me after we had a real mess in our condo from a bad water leak. The were on time, did a great job, did the work at a reasonable price.

Octagon just sent a mass text message to their customers asking for reviews. They probably should have screened who they were contacting. Unfortunately, Octagon did a horrible job remediating the vermiculite/asbestos in my attic this past spring. They did not follow any of the standard safety and contamination protocols, resulting in insulation and vermiculite dust being spread throughout my house. Compounding the problem, one of the workers stepped through the ceiling of the bathroom causing vermiculite and insulation to dump all over the bathroom. This was also not adequately cleaned up. I opened the lid to the toilet to find it filled with vermiculite. The vanity drawers that had been open were also filled with vermiculite. They sent a new crew on day 2 of the job who did much better work, but still did not adequately partition off the space to protect the house from contamination. Nor did they fully clean up the dust they created. They also did not get all of the vermiculite out of the attic. In the end, they refunded my deposit and reimbursed me for the damage to the bathroom ceiling. Unfortunately it was too little too late. Keeping my fingers crossed that my family did not breathe in any asbestos contaminated dust and that we don’t develop any respiratory disease or cancer. I probably should have contacted an attorney and sued the company for their flagrant negligence. I may need to reconsider this decision. I never did get an apology, just lots of excuses. I used Octagon several years ago to remediate mold on a different house and they did a great job. I expected the same service but got the complete opposite. I would not recommend Octagon to anyone. I would have given zero stars if I could have.

Getting in touch with Octagon was very easy. A person answered when I called. Due to the nature of our situation which was a sub level flood, their response time from the first call to dispatching a team was quick.

My interactions were with the office, estimator, and remediation team. Every phone call to the office was courteous. The estimator and remediation team were extremely professional and thorough. They had answers to all of my questions. They showed up when they said they were going to.

It has been a year since the job and I have had zero issues with mold, mildew, or smell in my basement.

I will recommend Octagon to anybody. I hope that I never have to contract them again, but if I am in need of cleaning or remediation I will call on Octagon.

I'm the manager at a group home where 7 residents live and it is staffed 24/7. I was anxious about how a deep cleaning of the whole house, including the basement and subsequent gutting of our entire office would work out, but working with Samantha Gwinn and her whole team was amazing! They were extremely sensitive to our needs and worked hard to coordinate this HUGE project. I would highly recommend!

The guy came to do a mold test and he only spent 5 mins in our apartment. There was visible mold on our bathroom ceiling. We had another company do a actual mold test and we do have mold. With visible mold Octagon told our landlords that there is no mold now she is in belief that it's fine but we have been getting sick from how much mold is in the apartment. Do not bother to call Octagon. Definitely a waist of time.

Octagon performed mold remediation in the attic of our "new-to-us" house. They completely removed all of the old moldy insulation, and scrubbed, sprayed, and sealed all the exposed framing. The workers were friendly and professional, and they did a great job. They took special care to create a negative pressure space, so that mold spores wouldn't be let in to other rooms in the house. I would absolutely recommend Octagon for any mold remediation needs!

The next day, Octagan had scheduled a technician to assess the damage and set up the mitigation solutions to dry out the damage before mold could set in. Our experience with Octagon was terrible all around, but the worst was the MESS they left in our house. We got a call after our first review saying it was an independent contractor they hired that left the mess... As if that means they can shrug it off as not their problem. When someone hires you YOU own your mistakes, even if that mistake was hiring a poor subcontractor... then you work to make it right. Octagon just tried to dodge responsibility...

I can't stress enough how much I would avoid this company.
