Richard and Matt were part of the team that found the water leak in the slab of my home. Came back a few days later and fixed the issue. The leak was right where they said it was and they fixed it quickly. Can't say enough good things about these guys and Newman's Plumbing. If you need a plumber, call them.

Had a fair quote to address converting the kitchen sink to remove disposal. When the workload was more than expected, Matt was able to facilitate an alternate solution and was willing to follow up later to address a drip was from a leaky gasket related to the repair or from something else.

Matt was easy to deal with. On time, completed the job including problems that were unforseen and even returned that day to fix a problem after a long drive home.

I can not thank Newman’s plumbing enough. I came home from work around 9:30pm, on a Friday night, and discovered a burst pipe under my kitchen sink, but behind the cabinets. The kitchen sink shares a wall with a faucet outside the house. So, it was either relieve the pressure by opening the outdoor faucet and filling it up like a pond or ruin my kitchen. I did what I could to keep the water from gushing in to the house. After that, I immediately started making calls for emergency plumbing services. 17 phone calls, yeah - you read that right, 17 phone calls to other companies (with wider distribution/bigger names) later I luckily called Newman’s and was sent to voicemail. The voicemail directed me to leave a text at the same number for emergencies. The moment I hit send on the text, I immediately received a read receipt and then a response in one minute. A SINGULAR MINUTE. No getting put on hold. No, let me schedule an appointment (which were sometimes 12 hours later from these other “BIG” companies). The response I received said, “I got a guy, I’m sending him your information now.” By the time this happened it was about 11:10pm. And Newman’s dispatched Matt, a proverbial life saver. Matt was literally running to figure out the problem and cause of the gushing leak. He got to the bottom of it, and applied what temporary fix he could so we could attack the issue with a permanent solution in the latter. Sometimes going to the big guy isn’t always the best option. In this case I either lucked out or, more than likely, should’ve just called Newman’s first…I’m looking forward to my next meeting with Newman’s to permanently fix this issue with the same drive and motivation they showed as if they had a leak in their own house.

NOTE: My only feedback, and this isn’t negatively against Newman’s in any way, shape or form, but I did not ask prices. I was focused on my emergency and so were they. My emergency took some time, and it was 1:30am by the time Matt left. We talked prices after the issue was fixed. But I was satisfied with the work and the fact that they were the only one’s who answered the call. Don’t be shocked if you get quality and prompt service during an emergency and the price mirrors that fact. Those negative reviews you probably looked at are either old, or someone who expects Newman’s technicians to only feed their families with a quarter portion of ramen noodles for a week.

John was at our house the same day I called. Told us what he was going to have done. Tried to clean out the pipes to the street. That didn't work so he sent someone under the house. They figured out the problem. Came back the next day, in the wintry mixed weather we were having. Worked for about 7 hours and repaired the messed up plumbing that had been previously done. We were very pleased with the professional way things were handled. We would recommend Newman plumbing percent. Just an all around great company. Thanks for all the hard work.

We have lived in our house for 4 years. After we bought the house, we realized we could not wash clothes, use the dishwasher and flush the utility room toilet all in the same day! I had to plan what I was going to do. We had 4 plumbers come to the house in those 4 years!! UNTIL WE MET John Newman!! He came once and done! I needed a tankless water heater installed. John Newman gave us a fair quote and was able to install in just a few days. After the install that very night a water pipe burst. The repairman returned and fixed it. This pipe was a separate incident where my husband had done a previous repair. It was immediately repaired by the workman and we were charged a minimal fee. I can say enough about how good a job the Newman’s plumbing did on our tank installed!!! I am enjoying hot baths with an endless supply of hot water! I will never use another company!

Absolutely amazing customer service. I’ve never had anyone offer to help me over the phone before sending out a technician FREE OF CHARGE. I disclosed prior to the assistance they gave that I was willing to pay but they could hear the distress in my voice. What an amazing way to run a business. Mellisa was the lady who helped on the phone and specifically because of her I’ll never use another plumber in the area.

I really want to thank Newman Plumbing for helping me out in a jam several times over the past few years. My work and travel schedule can be very hectic and I do not always have time to be Mr. Fixit. Everyone I have ever interacted with at Newman Plumbing has been very professional and they always show up on time, and do a great job. I like that out of the handful of times I have had to call them over the years they have always given me the best customer service and the fastest response time. They are my preferred plumbing contractor.

We had three toilets blocked up at our business here in Chesapeake, called in the afternoon after 4pm and they came out the next morning. Super fast service. He had us unblocked in no time! They're the only plumbers we will call in the future.

Anyone needing honest, reliable plumbing should absolutely call Newman's!! Richard and James came out exactly at the scheduled time, found the main sewer line was broken in the crawl space. Got right to taking care of everything and they stayed until almost 10 pm making sure everything was good to go. Fast , honest and reliable.

We were renovating and punctured one of the lines in the process and did not know. Richard came swiftly and figured it out! He reassured us and felt like we knew him for ages. They fixed everything in less then 2 hours! The bill was very affordable! Thank you so much and stay blessed!!

Richard and James what a professional and pleasant two young men. I had a main pipe clog and a issue in my kitchen drain and just a short time Richard and James had both of my problems fixed. I have nothing but the highest respect for these two you g men.

Jesus, I love this family-owned plumbing business. Since I’ve owned my house in 2020, they’re been my go to, and have delivered fantastic results EVERY time. Jordan, the scheduler, is professional and prompt. Tyler, her brother, is an excellent, knowledgeable plumber. Overall, don’t bother with anywhere else (especially Mr Rooter aka expensive Plumbing). Newman’s is the BEST!

I’ve used Newmans for multiple services on my property on separate occasions. Each time someone came out in a timely manner and quickly resolved all my immediate plumbing concerns. The team that worked on my most recent project of repairing my main water line (which was initially broken by a utility company’s contractor which never informed me- so watch out for unknown contractors digging on your property) was very communicative and accommodating. When I made specific requests to take pictures, keep the broken parts, and provide a detailed statement of the situation and resolution for insurance reasons they did it all without question and with a smile. The company was insanely cost effective than most big businesses that charge for the same work and didn’t try to upsell me either to replace parts that weren’t broken. I was very pleased with Newman’s and know you will be too if you decide to go with them! Thank you to the Newman’s team for taking great care of my problem!

My technician was Matt. He was very informative and worked quickly to unclog several drains. I would definitely recommend Matt and Newman’s plumbing. I have multiple rental properties and have worked with other plumbers in the area, and none have been as good as Newman.

Upon my initial contact as I was experiencing an emergency sewage situation from the overwhelming support coming from the receptionist to the technician Matt alone giving more helpful information regarding the issues. He unknowingly was more helpful than the previous 3 companies that came out for the same issue with his knowledge he was able to resolve the problem that I had been unable to notice early on as a new homeowner. I would give Matt and this company 10 stars from the overall experience given in such a remarkable turn around in time. I can finally say I am feeling more comfortable in my new home thank you again I would highly recommend to anyone.

Did an excellent job! We had a pipe bust and it flooded our downstairs kitchen and they came out within the hour. They got to the root of the problem and their price was unbeatable. Will definitely call them in the future for any problems regarding our plumbing work.

The folks at Newman's Plumbing are really great. I have had to call upon them twice within the last 6 months for different plumbing issues and both times the men who came by were exceptional. I, for one, have been pleased and hope they do not change their attitude or help. It is so refreshing having to deal with a business who is knowledgeable and caring to your needs. Plumbing needs to us layman can be devastatingly frustrating but to them it's a walk in the park and they know how to tame our sometimes neurotic needs and how to handle the problem. I enjoyed working with Newmans Plumbing.
I had my plumbing totally redone from outside through whole house.
I was not very fond of the tech they gave me. The tech that did the rough-in .He didn't seem as knowledgeable as I would have hoped for.
I've been in construction all my life and I've never seen plumbing done the way he did. It took him over a month or so to do my plumbing.
The part that bothers me the most is he ran a vent line up through the valley of my roof. That wasn't a good thing.
From my understanding that guy quit.
I'm sorry but I'm not good with remembering names.
The guy that did the final was very good. I liked him. He did what he was supposed to do and didn't take long at all.
The woman that answers the phone and does the scheduling was awesome. Very polite and had good business manors.
I'd say give them a call for your plumbing needs. Their prices are reasonably good.

Newmans plumbing is fantastic, so good, my technicians came over earlier then my scheduled appointment and quickly found problem with my kitchen sink and fixed it even though it was alot more complicated then we thought. They were so nice and knowledgeable and I appreciate everything they did, thank you so much Richard and Robert, big, big thank you to John Newman you are the best!

Not a great 1st impression. Scheduled to be at my home between 2-4pm and I was told someone would call before arrival. After I left work early to prepare for their arrival, I did not receive a call stating they would be late or anything. 20min after the end of the 4pm window a tech calls me to tell me they are 15min away. If I were to get that call within the timeframe they provided I would've accepted the service. I politely declined and will take my business somewhere else that will respect my time and potential business as a customer. I appreciate a little customer courtesy if I'm going to potentially spend my money. I get that things happen, but be decent enough to let the customer know, don't just assume you can dictate my time and show up whenever and I'll be okay with it. That's not how you start a business relationship.

Sewage back up in the house is never cool. They came the same day and not only did an excellent job, but called the city for us to relay with certainty that the problem was not on our end. Their rates were affordable, the guys were super helpful, and we will absolutely call again if we have other issues.

So fast forward two weeks after I originally reviewed them and TADA, money where my mouth is, had to call a plumber again, so went with Newmans.
They got us in super quick, gave us several options to make a catastrophic repair work in the budget, and did I mention the guys were just SUPER? They were so polite, totally professional, and didn't talk to me like I was an idiot when I asked questions. They were obviously skilled and while they didn't waste time, they didn't appear to rush to get it done haphazardly. When we needed things to submit to insurance, we were given thorough reports before the end of the day, even after the office staff had gone home. I feel they went above and beyond and I cannot express how much I appreciate that, especially when we were in a situation without water for several days! I will absolutely be calling them when I am ready to update my clawfoot tub from tub only to tub and shower!

I would recommend this company! The are very friendly and very knowledgeable. They fixed the back up at my rental property. And the price was very affordable. They are not just a business. Continue to be a Blessing to others and keep up the good work.

We recently completed a major renovation to our master bathroom and laundry room areas. The plumbing services were a major part of the project. Our service team consisted of two primary plumbers, James and Richard, and assistant Austin. Their professionalism, customer service and communication skills were superb! The BEST we've ever experienced from any plumbing service in Hampton Roads. Thank you for making a difficult job easy to understand and especially with your promptness in completion.

I recently had an issue where I could not shut off my shower. Melissa took the time to describe what I was seeing and how it worked so I could make the repair rather than sell me expensive emergency plumbing services for something that ended up being relatively simple. It is rare to find a company that would spend the time to calm a customer down and help them rather than take advantage of the situation for more money.

I can’t recommend them highly enough. A phone call and advice from her saved me a lot of money. The fact that she would recommend solutions even though that advice would lead to her not making money, shows they care about people over profit. If you need a plumber do yourself a favor and call them.

Newman's customer service is excellent ! Melissa talked me through how to fix the problem myself without the need for a plumber to come out. I will definitely use Newman's Plumbing when I have a real issue. Appreciate the honesty and transparency. Good to know there are still businesses out there who treat people like PEOPLE!

Not sure where all the great reviews came from. After explaining two jobs and complicated circumstances, they put a hole in the bathroom wall before notifying tenant or owner, without an estimate. Getting the other job started was delayed, then they didn't return calls for over a week, so no showed on the appointment the following week when the owner was unavailable. At the quoted $250 an hour, one would think the process would be much more professional.

This is an awesome company. My water heater was leaking and I reached out to this company after so many expensive quotes from other companies. I spoke with Melissa and she was so knowledgeable and professional. Melissa helped me secure my water and also gave me some very valuable information just about life. This is a wonderful company and I really feel like they care about providing good service but also about each individual person. Removed a garbage disposal as well as a damaged water drain pipe in my yard...the installed all new piping in the kitchen and repaired the damaged pipe in the yard in about 2hrs ran me bout 700 well worth the customer service and great job

Melissa was extremely knowledgeable and helped me fix the problem over the phone for a clogged shower drain after I had tried snaking the line myself. Saving me money!!!! Will call again for sure!

I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT NEWMAN"S PLUMBING!!! I had a situation where our 17 year old daughter accidentally flushed a very, very large keychain with keys down the toilet. Somehow this monstrosity of a keychain made it through the toilet trap and within 24 hrs all our facilities were offline. Initially I had Roto Rooter come out and it became apparent that their technicians were inexperienced and were trying to upsell me to the tune of $4,200....yes that is the correct number. Roto-Rooter wanted to dig up my front yard and cut into my sewer line. At this point I sent Roto Rooter away, picked up the phone, and called Newman's. I explained my situation and they explained that #1 they could have have me back up and running TODAY, #2 they could do it at a fraction of the cost. Newman's quickly sent out James to the rescue. After assessing the situation James located my exterior clean-out (that Roto-Rooter couldn't find) and within 30 mins James was able to locate, dislodge, and remove the obstruction...he was even able to recover the keys. Newman's Plumbing sent out James after hours, quickly solved my problem, and at a very fair cost of $350. Legitimate, local company with wholesome values. Newman's plumbing will gained a new customer and I have already recommended them to all my neighbors for any future needs. Don't be fooled by scams like Roto-Rooter, call a company you can trust and count on!!!!...Call Newman's.

This company has done more than just what they did this morning. They replaced my hot water heater and replaced my ignitor when it went bad under warranty. They will continue to get my business. And I thank you guys for the speedy work ythat you do!

When our 6 year old hot water heater from A-1 failed, we called four different plumbing companies, and three said they couldn't come out for several more days (not surprising given the market right now). Newman's was able to come out the next day and gave me an exact quote on how much it would cost to replace up front...no surprises. David came out on time and was thorough (he found another small issue and fixed that as well) and professional. Will definitely keep Newman's on my list of companies to call when we need them.

I've been a home owner for a long time. And sometimes stuff happens. Upon moving into my (new to me) older home, we learned about some of the bad things that people do with their flushing standards. This bit us in the rear when the entire system got clogged. This clogging created a backflow of stuff you don't want to see, to come back up.. into the showers, bathtubs, yeah... it was messy.. and ugly.

I called around to find a plumber that would be willing to help me and at first I just left a message to call me back. Shortly after, Newman's quickly responded by returning my call. The lady was very friendly and responsive to my needs. She mentioned that they had availability sooner than other places AND they had an option for emergency service. The emergency service (after hours) was obviously going to cost more but honestly, I had literal fecal matter in all our tubs, etc. it was totally worth it to have someone come asap.

The gentleman who came over definitely knew his stuff. Dave had been doing it for a long time. He was very quick to isolate the issue and get everything resolved. He was very concise with what he was doing and the path to get things clear.

I'm very pleased with the service I got as I had a no BS - let's get you straight service and was able to get it when I wanted it (which was immediate). As much as I hope I never have to call, if I do... I know I'll call Newman's.

Did a great job explained everything and checked all the work 3 times to make sure the water heater was working properly. Even let me pick his brain about running a water line for refrigerator. Great service will use them again for 2 more jobs.

Very prompt, arrived on time, and took care of my issue. However, the tech himself was not very clean. He removed the clog in my drain, but left disgusting black water and goop all over my wall and floor. He also said I may want to replace my piping, but offered no solution for it. It may have just been the plumber, but from this experience, I wouldn't recommend this company.

Love Newman's Plumbing. We have been a customer for years and Tyler will crawl through just about anything to find a leak, unclog a stopped drain, or repair the sewer line! His dad and David have also provided excellent service!

I have to say I received the best service from Melissa and Jorden. I called with and emergency and within 30 minutes he was out an took care of my issue! They even have the drywall guy coming tomorrow to make the repairs to the ceiling! I highly recommend Newman's Plumbing and their crew. If you want It Done right, they would be my first phone call.
