Worst customer service experience i have ever had. Tried working with this company due to them being a local veteran owned company. After 3 months of going back and forth to try and get my bathroom repaired from a sewage backup, there still wasn't even an approved estimate with the insurance company. Weeks would go by without hearing anything from them and when I first tried to call and see why it was taking 3 weeks to get an estimate I was rudely told "you're just going to have to wait".

Thank you for replying and lying about everything. The insurance company responded to your company within a couple hours every time they sent something. The last that was heard from your company the insurance simply asked a yes/no question on whether or not baseboards had to be removed to replace the carpet and that was the last of the conversation over 3 weeks ago. My insurance was always very prompt to return what was necessary to get an approve estimate. I also told your company when they first came to survey the damage that it would be an insurance claim, gave them the claim number I had already opened up, and gave them the adjusters contact info

Update as of July 1, 2025 - We were getting our crawl space on the original home inspected. We were informed that the new addition that My Jack of All Trades did had no insulation under the floors in the new crawl space which is required by code. We called the Chesapeake City Permits office to see what are options were and was told the permits on our addition were still opened. Then us that we shouldn't be using the new addition as permits were still open. The Inspector came with an hour to check the addition. They called My Jack of All Trade to order them to come out and fix the crawl space insulation. Keno blamed his sub-contractor for not doing the insulation. We are still pending other inspections from the city for required and still open permits. They fooled me, I trusted them with our home and I'm regretting it. **Check BBB, check with the city licenses and permits office for everything they are proposing to do to make sure they are LICENSED to do, i.e. plumbing, electrical, mechanical, AC, build, etc. WE LEARNED AFTER THE FACT, JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH THOROUGHLY. WE ARE BOTH DISABLED VETERANS AND A VETERAN DID THIS TO US.

Keno and his company did a first floor master suite addition to our home. We lived out of the area during the entire process and their communication with us was seamless. They kept us updated throughout the process from the Architect, permits, plumbing, AC, new roof, everything. I was at a loss of words with the finished outcome. It was just beautiful! A double shower with porcelain tile, double closets with built-ins, recess lighting, pocket doors, lighted mirrors, beautiful vanities, etc. It looks like something out of a magazine but, in my house. It exceeded my expectations and I have and will continue to refer them over and over again. You will not be disappointed, give them a call.

I called a week ago and was given a very nice lady that said they would return my call by the end of the week in order to help assist me. I called a week later because I had not received a message back. The person I was on the phone with would not stop talking and let me get a word in. Very frustrating. I am not sure how their manual service is but customer service seems to be a hit or miss.

Just got back from a deployment and noticed the owner replied. I was not asking them to sign off on a permit I was asking for assistance on getting a permit and they were going to charge me up the *** in lamens terms to assist with filing or leading me step by step, even though I said I was doing all the work.

This team took out multiple walls in my home, including a load-bearing wall, and refinished the drywall afterward. They were very responsive in communication, gave a fair quote, and found creative/cost-effective solutions when problems came up.

Initially, we were happy with the work, but a few months later, we noticed significant cracking along the ceiling where the wall had been removed. When we reached out, we were quoted $2,000+ to fix the issue. Given that the damage resulted from their original work, we felt it was unreasonable to pay them again without confidence that the issue wouldn’t return.

To be clear, the issue was caused by a cost saving measure that they took in order to keep our initial job within budget. They were the most affordable quote we received for the job and did provide creative solutions to keep the price down. However, a big job like that is still expensive and we hoped that any issues that might arise would be covered. They were not.

While their initial service was good, our experience with the long-term quality and follow-up support was disappointing. I WOULD recommend them for a project, but with the clear expectation that there could be add on costs if things go wrong or are not satisfactory.

They are very supportive of veterans as well.

I am a disabled veteran. I would NOT recommend this company after my experience with MJOAT. I ended up having to hire another company to come correct errors made by this company found during a home inspection and finish the project as well. I still have the inspection report and can post it if needed. After my experience, I would NEVER refer this company to ANYONE! They placed a lien on my property before completing the project, then removed the lien when I filed a formal complaint with DPOR. Consider yourselves warned.

I hired MJOAT to take down 2 walls to create an open concept living room/kitchen area. They did great work and came out quickly. We had gotten 2 other quotes that would have been months till they could do the work. We were worried about the floor where the walls were removed because we have old tile and it's not all even, but it turned out beautiful. I would hire them again. They were easy to work with and even were ok with us painting ourselves to save some money. Thank you MJOAT

I hired My Jack of All Trades to expand my driveway by nearly 2,000 square feet, and from start to finish, I have been completely satisfied. Keno and Alysia bring such wonderful energy, and they’re passionate about doing an incredible job. Also, they’re excellent about communicating. I’m an involved client, but I never felt anything but appreciation and a desire to work with me from them. Every time there was an interaction, it was professional, pleasant, and they were as excited about my project as I was (and not just for the paycheck). They have a lot of pride in their people and their reputation, and I’m already working to get them back for my next major project.

The entire crew was amazing! They were efficient, courteous and very professional to my wife and I, as we visited the house in person on occasion. Janelle was our Project Manager and is a great person to work with. She always puts the customer first and manages her crew like a true professional.
As a Navy guy, I have moved around a lot and have worked with many other home repair companies throughout the U.S. My Jack of All Trades is definitely on the top of my list with workmanship, professionalism, and communication. When it comes to problem resolution, they made it so easy! No arguments and if it cost a bit more, we were informed immediately. There were no surprises, ever!
The have exceeded all of my expectations. They even conducted a complete home inspection on site and found issues that we never even would have known about,,,ie, Leaking roof, plumbing issues, etc. In any case, My Jack fixed everything at a very fair price. They were so great that we added many other upgrades and repairs to include: carpeting, power washing, painting the entire interior and exterior, etc. Believe me - they can do basically anything and everything associated with a home...and, if they cant, they know someone who can!
Amazing company, awesome people, and incredible workmanship. After a very long process (nearly a year) due to the ridiculous insurance claim bureaucracy, they stuck it through with my wife and me and got everything done and done right! Keno came out with his team to perform some repairs on or garage doors. They did a fantastic job and would definantly use them again!!

My Wife and I could not have been more pleased the entire My Jack of All Trades team, and especially Hugo. They took on this job knowing we would really like to have the majority of the project, if not all, complete prior to family arriving for the holidays. Hugo could not have been a better person to work on our project to ensure that happened. His personal care showed at every turn stopping to let the Wife or I know if something seemed off or ensuring something was placed just the way we wanted. He addressed issues as they arose with us to ensure the bathroom turned out as we hoped. The project team did a good job keeping us in the loop when the subcontractors were attending and their subcontractors worked well to ensure Hugo could keep his pace going. Even with a small misunderstanding of the quote My Jack of All Trades worked with us and we came to a more than reasonable resolution that took minutes to resolve. I would recommend them for any bathroom project large or small.

The builders did a fantastic job on my new porch. They built it exactly as I had envisioned it. They arrived promptly and didn’t stop until the job was done. Hired JOAT for an ongoing leak I had. No other company could find it and didn’t want to touch it since it wasn’t pipe related. Eli took the time to ensure he found and fixed the problem. They did not rest until the problem was resolved. They went above and beyond to answer my questions and make sure I was satisfied with the work. I definitely would recommend!

I was in a jam with my carpet flooring issue and Alysia and her flooring team came to the rescue and showed up on time her team did a great job and her communication skills getting back to me and answering my questions was great it is nice to deal with a company that cares about my time and my needs truly a five star company

I can't say enough about the great work they did for me to install my porch. The project manager was very responsive to all of my questions. Customer service was the best I've seen in a contractor.

Do not work with this company. This was a $20,000 mistake on our part in trusting in this man (the owner) and hiring him. He lied to us repeatedly and did not one thing to correct his mistakes. Our roof was sagging (the reason he was able to talk us into getting the roof done in the first place when we originally called him to get a privacy fence put up) and guess what? our roof is still sagging; it just looks a little prettier.
He stopped returning our calls and at one point we called and was sweetly cursed out by his wife, I’m assuming, for calling the number that He actually gave to us ( he told me this is his number so we’d always be able to contact him).
But the owner of this company sat on my patio, smoked my cigarettes and drank my water and lied to us and walked away with 20 grand. I will never ever be so gullible again. Never.

And if he does the thing that he did with us before, in responding to this review, I’m sure he’ll lie some more and make himself and his company out to be some kind of victim in this situation. Good God.

Great to have met Keno and his staff. I was in a jam with a project from a large vendor. Keno and his team came in and made necessary fixes and completed the job in one day. Mind you, I was weeks into this project with a large vendor. They were timely and professional throughout the whole process. Fernando, who did the work, is a pro and did great work. Thanks again for the help.

Well our reno was finished 3 years ago. It was a complete rebuild from the ground up. Sway and his guys were awesome! During the work. We discovered an opps with the new roof just recently and I called them to see if they could ck it out. Not only did they come out right away but fixed the opps. Hey! That project was insane!!! And you may think? Why did they miss it? No I think the point is! How many contractors do you know that will come back 3 years after their work!! Seriously! Not many. They stand by their work- thats gold in my book.

I’d post a zero if I could. He works for the warranty company tells people that he will be there in a certain time frame, then doesn’t show up, when called again to check in he gives a different time frame and still doesn’t show up, finally when it isn10 at night he says that he can’t come because there isn’t anything open. When I asked why he didn’t come earlier he stated it was because he kept getting things closer to him.

I recently had a leak in an interior wall that required the removal of the base cabinets in the kitchen and the bathtub and surround in the adjacent bathroom as well as the flooring in those rooms and the utility room. I decided to have the flooring in the entire house replaced (2300 squire feet), completely renovate the affected bathroom and an additional bathroom, Keno saw to it that the necessary information was sent to the insurance company to get the proper payment for the repairs. He also ensured that the proper team was assigned to complete all the needed work. The project was completed professionally, and as timely as possible considering the insurance delays. The house now has a whole new feel with the new flooring and bathrooms. My wife makes a comment at least once a day about how great everything looks.

This crew got it done and kept me updated at every step. I need an entire build out for my salon: electricity, plumbing,walls, bathroom and more. They completed it to my complete satisfaction and in a timely manner even when we had complications beyond our control. I appreciate everything this company has done to make my vision and dream come to life. Eternally greatful. I have included some before and afters, I will add more afters soon!

Jack of All Trades was referred to me by a Facebook friend, we had a major water leak in the house and we needed to replace the entire 1st floor flooring and some walls, and the ceiling that was affected by the leak. Keno was nice enough to take on the job and even worked with us with all the insurance stuff that we filed. The work was really good, it did take some time because we have to wait for insurance stuff but all together they definitely did a good job. If I would ever need someone to do with construction I'll definitely go back to them. I 1000% recommend their services.

Buying a new house and needed some work. Sent a quote request in 9/2, had to call to get an answer on 9/12 after no follow up. Was told they are too busy and the other quote I have (which was from the seller) was "good" and I should go with them. Not what I expected.

This review is long overdue but we wanted to make sure we finished painted for pictures lol. JOAT was amazing and did amazing work! If you’re lucky enough to get Sway as the main contractor be prepared to get an outstanding job done, with great attention to detail. This company helped me repair my bathroom when I had a leak and worked with our budget to completely transform our bathroom in a timely manner. When I thought I had another leak, they came right out to take a look. The only somewhat critique I have is their communication was a little bit below average, for example if they told me the day before they were coming at 9 am. Sometimes I wouldn’t hear that they weren’t coming until like 2 pm but as an adjuster who works with contractors all the time, this was to be expected as things come up. Overall, Such a great company with great contractors who will work with you! I will recommend to my anyone.

Company did great work! After an interior water leak, home was left with many repairs needed. They were extremely flexible and got the job done. Quality was excellent as well, found a gem right here!

I noticed a leak in my roof, and it was great to be able to take care of the leak and the dry wall replacement with the same company. The team is awesome and they’ve worked really hard to keep up with my work schedule.

JOAT is not professional. They are not timely with their quoted timeframe, they are not accurate with their quotes, the owner Keno got an attitude with me often times on the phone when we had a strict deadline and he was not going to meet it. We had to keep track of finances personally and match against JOAT. They withhold work on house if payment by insurance company is not made (out of owners hands). Keno is a poor time manager and does not manage his sub contractors well (Schedules overlapping, not available, have to do one job before the other). We are 4 months into having full occupancy of our house and nails are already popping from the ceiling. We were an insurance claim from a tree falling on our house. We got an addition put on while the house was basically down to the studs. Also, they used our garage for months of construction work and some things went missing (although it was made right after we brought it to JOAT attention). I would never recommend JOAT or ever work with them again. We have full warranty on the house for a year, and it's not even worth it to me to have them come back and fix. Please do not use JOAT. I wish I would've read the reviews on this company before getting into a huge insurance house claim with JOAT.

Edited to add: I believe the company has my number blocked and has very poor communication with my husband who has tried to stay positive about this whole situation. Please do not use this company if you have any organization must-haves or timeframe for work to get done. It’s incredible that this company is still in business

JOAT is by far the most professional business ever! Keno and his team were responsive and extremely helpful with replacing our roof. Keno literally saved us THOUSANDS of dollars by walking us through the process with the insurance company. The Hit Squad worked efficiently, watched out for the dog when he needed to go outside, moved my plants so they would not be destroyed...and cleaned up every bit of debris from the old roof! If you need a roof or any work done around your home, this is the company to call FIRST. I had estimates from 4 other companies and I checked them all out thoroughly. Being a veteran run company was one of my biggest motivation for selecting your company as I have great respect for the military. Another reason was a completive price. I worked with many branches of military service during my Civil Service and contractor career and you were what I expected and hoped you would be, professional.
The roof was replaced on schedule and the cleanup was great, better than expected. The quality of the work was excellent as recent high winds and rain tells me. The new skylight is beautiful and leak free. I would highly recommend this company for quality, clean-up and professionalism. Overall WELL DONE!

Had an addition put on my home and Keno, Tamarah, and Josue were great. They beat out all other estimates and accomplished it before their projected completion date. If you want true professionals who honestly cares about your wants and needs, they are the company to go with. They will make sure you are satisfied with breathtaking results. My husband and I only have praises for Keno and the Jack of All Trades crews. They certainly live up to their company name. We had a new roof installed, a ceiling and wall repair due to prior roof leakage, soffit and fascia wrap and new gutters. Each installation/repair required different skills so involved different crews. From start to finish, each job was handled with total professionalism and genuine care for our home. Jack of All Trades exhibits “old fashioned” contractor integrity which is rare these days. They gave us reasonable estimates, quick turn around on scheduling and a great final product. We highly recommend Jack of All Trades for any work your home needs.

Travis was a pleasure to work with during our shed remodel. He patiently worked with us to ensure we got what we wanted. The work crew was phenomenal. They worked tirelessly nonstop, rain showers and all, to make sure the job was completed in one day. I can’t say enough about their quality of work!!
The price was also affordable. Let’s just say we would have never been able to purchase a new shed of equal size for the price we paid for the remodel. PLUS, it looks like a brand new building!!! We are super satisfied!!

The roof has only lasted six years. They replaced it once, and now the shingles are falling off again. The owner is claiming that the wood under the shingles is in bad condition and that he had mentioned it to me before. This is a lie. How can a professional roofer install new shingles twice if “the wood is bad”? Now you’re saying the problem is the plywood? I still have the workmanship warranty for couple months but they don’t want to fix it.

I called 6 flooring installers and heard back from 2 after already having another contractor completely flake on us. We went with Keano because he was friendly and responsive and Sway was thorough and knowledgeable. From the time I called until the job was done was a matter of days which was so important since our first contractor did not show up for the job and really put us behind schedule. When Sway’s crew came out to install flooring they were efficient, did excellent work listened to what I wanted, mannerly and professional. I will use the Jacks again and definitely recommend them to anyone else. Thank you!

I had a full house renovation that needed to be completed within two weeks before I left on a business trip. They handled the job with the upmost professionalism and worked with a purpose to get my property completed within my timeline. 100% would recommend for anyone looking for a company that doesn't joke around and gets the job done right! I can’t believe how lucky am I to have worked with this company. Keno was so tremendously helpful and was with me every step of the way. The team did amazing, I was in awe with the work they did! My house looks AMAZING! I couldn’t have imagined better results. I had just about all of my flooring repaired and replaced. Kitchen, living room, dining room, hallway, bedroom, bathroom. I had a lot of water damage in the house, so it was a bit overwhelming to say the least. & Working with insurance was a nightmare, but at least I had Jack of all Trades to keep me as a priority and keep my sanity in check, lol. My Jack of All Trades is super responsive and completed my home repairs (fascia and soffet) very quickly! The process was completely simple. I was scheduled for an assessment within a couple days of contacting them. My house was assessed as scheduled and repaired the next day. There were absolutely zero hassles or complications.

My experience with Keno and his group was outstanding. One of his men was out the very next day after I called and helped with the insurance adjuster as my roof had been damaged from the recent storms. Keno also helped with the whole claim process which was amazing and took a lot off my 83 year old shoulders. What i love is that Keno is so positive and it shows with his workers and also with the work they do. My roof is gorgeous and now of course I will eventually need new siding to go with it. I heartily recommend Keno and his dedicated company.
